InDesign encounters error when locking objects on master page

I have CS5 and love it. But, after moving objects on my master page between layers (don't ask me why, just thought it might be a good idea) I cannot lock (Ctrl-L) the objects without locking InDesign. It encounters a error and locks up. I have to use the Task Manager to close it and start over. Are you not allowed to move objects on the master page between layers? Do I need my mouse slapped?

Eugene means that master objects are difficult to select on a live page (you have to Ctrl + Shift Click them to override) so there is really little reason to lock them. You shouldn'ty be getting acrash when you try, though. First step might be Replace Your Preferences

Normally there is no problem to open any INDD opening on Windows, when created on the Mac.
But Mac user are often not aware on the naming limitations. A file name must not contain /, \, |, :
It should not contain any extended character, it is not a primary problem but will be, if something links to that file, so avoid also: ÄÖÜäöüß+&
You can use all other non A-Z a-z, 0-9 and - and _
I personally would also recommend to avoid spaces.
This is valid for the INDD file itself but also for all linked content.

KP06 Cost Center Budget Planning System error when locking the data records

While updating Cost Center Planning system(KP06) its giving the below error:
System error when locking the data records.
Message no. KI502
Diagnosis
The lock to protect the data records being processed could not be set. The
probable reason for this is that the SAP locking table is full and no more
entries can be added.

No planning data has been changed

Diagnosis
You used Post. While preparing the data for posting, the SAP System
determined that no changes were made in the available databank values.

While processing ALEAUD - "Error when locking the audit statistics"

I am sending out IDOC for HR data and then prcessing ALEAUD inbound idoc immediatley (setting is done in WE21 partner profiles).
While processing these incomming idocs, I am getting this error "Error when locking the audit statistics for P01LOGSYS1 IMTIMEDEP HRMD_A" for few idocs. e.g. out of 1000 for 100 idocs this error will happen and IDOC goes to status 51.
If I try to process thes idocs ALEAUD using background processing and if I schedule 2 jobs at a time then I will get same error and IDOC goes to status 51.
Can someone help me out?

I tried processing the idocs in background processing as you have suggested using program RBDAPP01 (inbound).
There are 2 options in this program serial processing and parallel processing. When I select serial processing everyhting goes smooth but it takes long time. But when I select parallel processing I get same locking error mentioned above and only few idocs will get processed successfully with status 53 and all other will error out with status 51.
If I schedule 2 different jobs in background program RBDAPP01 (inbound) using serial processing then same thing will happen. only few idocs will get processed successfully with status 53 and all other will error out with status 51.
And I will get locking error ....
Note 1333417 says, " these IDocs will be processed via background runs of report RBDAPP01 \ RSEOUT00 (using background work processes) in batch mode leaving dialog work processes free for users and mission-critical processes. Hence you will not encounter the resources problems you are currently experiencing. The only other option would be to try increasing the number of available dialog work processes. The number of dialog processes must be greater than or equal to the total of the number of update and background processes per application server and must be configured across all operation mode
switches (see SAP note 74141). *However when there are a large number of IDocs being processed this is not a practical solution."*
Does that mean there is no possoble solution for this issue. If I increase dialog work processes will it be helpfull ?

I am running on NW04s. Working on WD for ABAP Interactive forms. whenever I open the Adobe editor thru SFP or Se80, the editor opens up and I am able to do my operations. The moement I hit back button/Save or any other action which involves coming out of the adobe editor, it throws me an Fatal error - <b>Error when transforming object data</b>. I find that in most of the threads there are similar issues which are still open. Any Help would be appreciated.
I have installed ADLC 7.1, xACF04s.

we recently migrated from 4.6 to 4.7.
For some programs, when selecting a variant, this gives a runtime error, like
Error when importing object "C131A2"
What is the cause of this? Because the values in the variant aren't valid anymore?
How can this be solved?

When i am trying to access the variant SDCAS_ADRSEL , I am getting a dump "Error when importing object P_lis ". It has got only one variant JOJO1 in the vari table . Please help me out with this.

Exact details of the error that occured.
Where the error occurred
You can grab these out of the dump in ST22. That should help people out, to help understand what you are doing, as it's not really clear from your current description.

i have installed version 7.1 over verison 7 azdobe livecycle designer, howeven after installation, i try to made some changes, but i got the following error

1) It seems that you have deleted a dependent info object from ODS in BW Dev. and so is the warning message that you have deleted that info object.
2) if you have made some changes in an ODS and want to transport those to quality then you should delete all data from that ODS in quality. Delete all tables in ODS.
3) You should activate update rules in development again and transport those with this request.
Error 8 is error caused due to missing objects. do check your request thoughly before you re transport it.

Error while lock object creation

When I tried to create a lock object, I get the following error.
Error: "Total length of lock argument for table XXXXXXXXX longer than 150"
I have 3 tables in which Table1 is the check table for the value tables (Table2 & Table3). During the process of deletion of a record from Table1 (CT) I need the lock tobe established on value tables and then I delete all the corresponding entries in value tables are also deleted.
Would like to know If there is any other std ways of doing this ? and
Solution to overcome the error.

Hi,
I think the error is becoz you have given too many LOCK parameters in the lock object. the total length of the PARAMTERS of lock object should not exceed 150.
By default all the KEY fields will be taken as Lock paramters, so your table key's length is more than 150.
Also why dont you create 3 lock objects for each table and then use only KEY's of each table as LOCK PARAMETERS.
Then Lock T1 record first then lock T2 and T3 records, then delete records from T2 and T3.
Then you delete T1 record.
The execute DEQUEUE_ALL.

Run transaction OMSL.
Create an entry for MATCONV in the overview screen.
Double click on this line and set the length parameter for MATCONV.
the same transaction exists in the r/3 OLTP system compare the 2 systems to set the right values in the details screen in BW.

InDesign cs6 crashes when exporting objects with drop shadows to interactive PDF

I am using the trial version of InDesign CS6 on a mac OSX 10.7.4 I need to export my document as an interactive PDF. I have found that the export works fine so long as none of the objects within my document have a drop shadow. However, if I add a drop shadow to any object (text, images, or video) InDesign will crash when I try to export. I am adding the drop shadow by selecting the object and then choosing Object > Effects > Drop Shadow. Is there another method I should be using to add the shadow if I want to export to an Interactive PDF?

Hi Peter, thanks for the response. Yes, I have tried creating a new blank project and adding one text object with a drop shadow and then exporting to Interactive PDF, and I experienced the same result. I tried replacing my preferences as you suggested and found that it did not have any affect.
I continued developing my InDesign document without using any drop shadows and began to experience the same type of crashing under two more circumstances. 1. When relinking assets in my Links panel. 2. When exporting to interactive PDF with interactive objects that are being clipped (I get a warning telling me I have clipped objects before I export; when I click export I experience the same crash.) I have tried exporting the same file to a print (non-interactive) PDF and experienced no crashing.
I thought I should mention that I am using a retina display mac book pro with 16GB RAM. Could my graphics cards or the configureation of my machine be causing my issue?

Error when locking period

Hello Experts,
I am trying to lock a period and I am receiving an error when I try. Error states "Cannot lock data because the validation account is not zero." I haven't had any issues with any other period except August. I noticed that there is country that would not lock. All the entities within that one country locked; however, at the parent and consolidated level, it would not. Please help if you can.

"Cannot lock data because the validation account is not zero" when trying to lock a parent entity (Doc ID 1314837.1)
Cause
The cause was that there were calculated values in the <Parent Currency> Value member in the child entity. This is caused by rules, and previous periods may not have these calculated values. It is not possible to lock <Parent Currency> value member of the child entity if it is not zero in the validation account.
When the <Entity Currency> value member of a parent entity is locked, the system also needs to lock the <Parent Currency> of the child entity in the same action. If the value of the validation account at <Parent Currency> level in the child entity is not zero, the user will not be allowed to lock the <Entity Currency> of the parent. If calculation or translation rules are writing values to this <Parent Currency> value member, they will need to be checked to ensure that this value remains zero.
Solution:
1) The calculation or translation rules will need to be adjusted so that numerical non-zero values are not generated in the <Parent Currency> value member of the child entity.
2) Then the entity will be lockable at "translation" (Parent currency) value member level,
3) If it can be locked at this level, then the parent entity will be able to be locked at <Entity Currency> level.
4) After amending the rules, load the changed rules, and run some translations and consolidations and test the locking process again.
