Indesign Export SWF Import into pdf poor quality

Hello!
I'm designing an interactive pdf portfolio.
I have exported the indesign file as an SWF at 300dpi 100% resoultion.
I have then imported the SWF back into indesign and exported as an PDF (interactive) again 300dpi
When viewed in the html file . Quality is perfect, however when viewed in the PDF quality is awful. No idea whats happening to cause this issue.
I am using CS5.5 / Version 7.5.2 & viewing the PDF in Acrobat X / Version 10.1.7
Can anyone advise?
here is a link to the file:  http://samrowe.net/pdfswf.pdf

In you have Acrobat, to eliminate any issue of swf degradation [when placing swf in ID and exporting pdf] you can add mulimedia swf directly into a PDF.
But, even with a successful placement of swf into a PDF, you will have no control of your recipient's successful playback due to versions of Acrobat/Reader, multimedia preferences and security settings.

    hi,
all the UI elements in the adobe form are generally connected to your web-dynpro Context.
whatever you type in the online adobe form is reflected in the respective context attributes of the dynpro Context of the view where "ur Interactive form UI element is".
that means you can yourself fill the contents of ur interactive form by working on the get/set methods of the context attributes.
Likewise you can clear the form by setting all context attributes to blank eg ""
<b>interactive form has two imp properties:-</b>
    <b>*dataSource</b>
data source points to the node all whose context attributes will be made available in the interactive form
    <b>*pdfsource</b>
points to the context attribute which will hold the pdf.
note that the type of this pdfSorce attribute will be binary.
    if you still have doubts.
give me your gmail mail id. i 'll send a tutorial.

  • !! Exporting SWF file in PDF reduces image quality.

    Hello,
I have a file with many multi-state picture frames and buttons for them. I export it in pieces in SWF format, then I put the SWF's back in the document as a new layer and export as interactive PDF. Finally everything worked fine, except that PDF opens in a larger then normal zoom and when zooming in on pictures the quality is very poor I am guessing 72ppi at the intended zoom. I check the SWF file and see that its image quality is good when zoomed, so the problem is with the way the PDF has exported the SWF.
notes: I made sure the settings were to export at 300ppi and high image quality. When I take a single multi-state frame with its associated button and export to SWF then PDF the image quality is maintained.... however I have over 150 image frames, so I rather not export them individually. Please, please reply... any suggestions will be gratefully excepted.

edit your image in photoshop and experiment with various settings/size.  there's no magic high quality small file size setting.
it's a trade-off.  the higher the quality and the greater the image dimensions, the greater the file size.  you have to decide where those are acceptable.

On my Windows environment the JRC export into PDF work perfectly. I know that there are some known issues regarding the usage of JRC on Linux environments. Could this be one of those?
Any solution (or workaround) would be highly appreciated!
    Thank you!
PS Maybe this is relevant: I use a MySQL database!

  • Exporting discoverer report into pdf

    Dear All,
I am having a requirement, when I am  export discoverer report to pdf it has to display all column in one page but now I am getting 4 columns in one page next columns are displaying in next page. Total I am having 20 columns how can I display all column in pdf.
    Please anyone help me
    Thanks in advance

Please re-post if this is still an issue to the .NET Development - Crystal Reports Forum or purchase a case and have a dedicated support engineer work with your directly.
Is there a reason why you need that much data in a one report? It will take a long time to load or browse around. I suggest you make these reports smaller for your users.

  • Importing photos into iM09 - poor quality with snow leo

    Another bad example from iMovie09:
since I have Snow Leo, when I import photos from iphoto into iM09, I get this on export 1080i AIC:
    example
at the left you can see the original, right is the mess, iM09 does (snow leo only!). Those effects look much more worse in the reals video than in this screenshot. I have this prob with all black/dark parts of a picture since installation of snow leopard. This is really a bad joke and not acceptable. All my friends using pinnacle and other stuff laughing at me... :-((
Has this something to do with the alpha correction in snow leo? All the pictures and footage is unnatural bright and with those bad effects... awful. With 10.5 and iM08 the results were much better...
    Message was edited by: joerglange

Checked again, this is NOT ONLY a snow leopard problem, it occurs even using 10.5 and iM08. Just drag a photo into iM8/9 and you will see this bad effect, more worse at dark areas.
This is a iMovie-only problem. Final Cut, iMovie06 HD or Premiere all have not this problem. Would say, Apple should take some time for quality improvements in developing iM10...

  • Imported images with poor quality

    Hello,
why when I import images from Photoshop into InDesign project, do they lose quality ?
    thanks

    Ha!
Well, it's also worth noting that InDesign, by default, displays lower quality previews of the images when they are placed (to speed up processing and display). You can view the full resolution images by going to View > Overprint Preview, or by changing the options in View > Display Performance.

  • SWF embed into PDF...white screen problem

    Hello,
I have created a SWF Flash application using Flex 4.6, and I need to embed it into a PDF file.
I have created the PDF via "Create from file" under Acrobat Pro X.1.4...no problem, my SWF application works perfectly into my acrobat Pro as well as acrobat reader.
So, I have sent the file to my client, and he told me that he was unable to read the file : the PDF works, but he just have a white page without any flash application inside.
Is there a way to correct the problem...Maybe there is something to do during the export to avoid this. But I don't know what ?!
For information, my curstomer have an inferior version of Acrobat Pro (10.0.4) and i'm not sure he have installed Acrobat reader.
Many thanks in advance for your help.
    Best regards.

Updating Flash Player currently has no effect as Acrobat X uses an embedded copy of Flash Player. It only changes when you update Adobe Reader or Acrobat.
The embedded Flash Player instance in the Acrobat X Family (10.1.4) right now is FP10.3.183.

  • Why is InDesign exporting HTML instead of PDF?

    Hello,
I recently upgraded to InDesign CC 2014.  My first project that I created is being exported as a HTML link and not the actual PDF file.
Is it something I'm doing wrong?  Also, none of my saved file icons are showing with the InDesign file icon.  I've linked them with InDesign, however when I click on them they do not open and I get an error.  Is it possible this has something to do with it?
This is incredibly frustrating as I need to this project printed.
Does anyone have any idea what is going on?

So, looks like I figured it out.  The file associations is what did it.  For some reason it was it was using Firefox to view the PDF.  I wondered if it was doing due to some update with Acrobat.
So I reinstalled Acrobat.  I saw that when I exported the file the extension changed from .html to .pdf.
So then I right clicked on the icon>properties and it let me change the associated program to Acrobat instead of Firefox.
I'm not sure if that is what needed to happen, but it appears (at least for the moment) that everything is fixed.  I'm going to go tomorrow to see if I can get it printed.  Hopefully everything will have exported correctly.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling the Flash Player on the IE browser.
1)You can use the following link to uninstall Flash Player from your computer:
    http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/uninstall_flash_player.exe
    2) After uninstalling flash, use Internet Explorer to install Flash Player.  You can use the following link to install Flash:

I'm hoping that this is doable and isn't extremely hard.
I have an access database that contains customer information.  From this information I would like to export it into an existing pdf form (for each individual customer) and save it for printing at a later time.
    Is this possible?

If you are using Acrobat 8 or above, you will want to use LiveCycle Designer.

  • Export to HQ DVD very poor quality

    Hi all,
I've been trying to export to an HQ DVD, meaning I've chosen the highest settings, ending up with a 5552Mb File for 75 mn... which I believe would be enough to have a very high "normal"definition .
ok I know it wouldn't fit but I burned 10mn of timeline with these settings, to check, and the quality is very poor. I believe as bad as a VHS second generation copy... My titles appear like a very low photoshop jpg compression, and all lignes and shapes are surrounded by some kind of compression artefacts not acceptable even in normal def. (not mentioning the interlaced lines at the edit point when the clip has been altered in size or color etc...) You get the picture...
I had a look at the calculator, that is not much help finally when exporting from premiere.
What I want to do is export my (xdcam hd 50mbps 1080 50i).mxf timeline to a beatiful dvd that everybody can play....
Should I go for a third party encoder?
Also, It seems that when I export and burn through Encore, I get a slightly vertically stretched frame, that ellipses the perfect circles I have on the timeline. Although I respect the pixel ratio of 1.0, 16.9 screen... wide screen etc... I always get this stretching. (Playing the file from the pc is correct.)
What puzzles me is to see some nice SD DVDs around, burnt from HD files and I'm not able to get at least the same results from a broadcast approved camcorder and premiere CS6.
    Export settings are:
    Help please... Thanks.

    Glad to help.
I have been using Encore every since it was first released and on many occasions I have pruduced MPG files encoded at different rates so that I can demonstrate to the audience at my presentations how the different settings can affect the end MPG movie
With Encore I have found that the settings I gave you earlier give the best compromise results, in my tests having the max setting at its max position and the target above eight can produce flawed mpeg files. this is not as a resullt of one off encoding but I have repeated it with each version of Encore with varying results, certainly using Encore in my CS5.5 Suite produces softer DVD's than earlier versions, in my opinion that is..
With HD source my Panasonic HMC 150 Encore produces reasonable MPG SD files but the Canon 7 D produces more artifacts.
Enough of a remeniss and ramble, good luck
Addiitonally with the completed DVD there is a distinct difference depending upon which DVD player is used, using the same DVD my Sony 3D bluray player upscales better than my Panasonic Bluray recorder, whereas at a club I go to the Pioneer AV amp upscales the DVD even better, therefore I would conclude that the device playing back the DVD can have a vast effect on what you see.
