Indesign freezes at "Initializing SING gaiji systems..."

I thought I had a corrupted Indesign program so I dumped it and downloaded an authentic copy of Indesign 30 day trial. Now it does the same thing. As it tires to open i get "Initializing SING gaiji systems..."
So I looked for a workaround and found one http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/331/331578.html but I can't find the folder they talk about.

Owner, Group and Others to Read & Write."
But I can never find this folder. I am on a Mac.

Hi,
I can't find and easy solution to this. I am running InDesign no problem on my User account. I set up another User for someone else and InDesign will freeze on startup on the "Initializing SING Gaiji" something or other.
I go back to my profile and it's works still. Solutions?

The problem permissions are on the folder (and its contents) in /Library/Application Support/Adobe/SING/
The easiest (though possibly not most secure) solution is to set the permissions to Read/Write for everyone on the entire folder /Library/Application Support/Adobe/ and its contents.

c) application (i.e. Logic)
b) sub program's (i.e. plugins)
could all together trigger the cause.
So a lot more info would certainly help us to make some sort of intelligent guess.

I just dowload the AE trial version on a mac with maverick and The start up screen is freezing on "Initializing MediaCore".

This is not a chat room, sometimes it takes time for someone to post a reply. What have you tried? We don't know any specifics about your system.

Often, When InDesign and Photoshop are running at the same time, InDesign freezes and needs to be restarted.

after effects cs5 freezes on initializing mediacore...pleasehelp...i have through tons of stuff online on solvin the issue done all of them and nothing worked in my case. and i have been using cs5 for sometime on my pc...am using windows 7,64bit..and have xilisoft video conerter installed..if it might help...i usind the cs cleaner tool ....removed quicktime, quit qt32server...plus the opposite..i logged in with another account same issue......and i have installed and reinstalled appropriately like a dozen times.....please help......

Have you flushed the media cache? If not, try that. Also trash the prefs. Other than that I'm not sure what to advise, but perhaps your system event viewer may provide some details abouzt those crashes.

I have no InDesign Japanese version so I can't install it. But it is an application instead of an extension according to its content. I don't think it will be listed in Extension Manager.

After Effects freezes, and "Initializing MediaCore" issue.

I've been looking around for hours to solve this problem but I can't fix it...
I have been using AE CS5 for almost a year without a problem but the other day it suddenly frooze and now every time I try to start CS5 it freezes when "initializing mediacore" in the splash frame. Sometimes after restarting the computer I am able to start CS5 but it then freezes after a coulpe of minutes and then I can't start it again...
I've read about the mediacore issue but I can't solve it, my firewall in deactivated...so there shouldn't be a problem with it stopping ae from communicating with QT?
Also I've tried installing an older CS3 version, it starts, but keeps freezing at the same place everytime I try to render my project...
Any that knows how to fix this?
Im using OSX version 10.6.8, 3.06 GHz i3, 4GB 1333MHz DDR3, the latest Quicktime

When I took a closer look at the QT files i realized I'd been in the wrong Library/Quicktime...
So how do I know which files to keep? Just trial and error until it works or do you know which files specifically should be there as default?

I have to update my MACBook Pro and I backed up my Adobe Programs on an external drive. Long story short None of my Adobe programs are working any more and I don't have the License number - So now I have to Pay Monthly to use InDesign.

can I install the free download of Indesign on a 32 bit operating system? I am not able to. It says error 205. I have windows 8.

Follow all the steps in the article to which I linked, including the article it links to. Installer Cleanup will not remove everything; it's just part of the process. Installer Cleanup can be downloaded here:

InDesign Freezes when opening it

Hi,
InDesign freezes when I open it. First it told me my recovery file was corrupted so I followed this procedure (InDesign crashes upon launch while attempting to recover a damaged document). It still does it when opening it. I have to run task manager and end the process of adb.exe *32 for the program to work

CS6 on a Mac
Whenever I try to open the document and scroll past a certain page it crashes. Sometimes it does it right away on startup, also whenever I open the Pages tab indesign crashes.
I tried moving all of the links to a different location to see if there was a broken/damaged link- it did nothing. I also tried to replace my fonts and it crashed when I was in the process of doing so. I also tried to trash my preferences- this did nothing. I cant open it up and save it as an IDML now.
I can work in other documents, just not this particular one. So, my bet is it is a damaged font.

When booting up L8 it freezes when 'initializing core audio'

When booting up L8 it stops responding just as it says 'initializing core audio' & I have to force quit it. So I booted up L7 which was ok, then booted L8 & it came up ok.......no freezing. Today I tried to boot L8 first & the same thing happened, so I booted L7 ok & tried L8........only to be met with the freeze at 'initializing core audio' again. I forced quit it & tried again, this time it booted ok. L8 is unreliable at booting up for me, has anyone had the same problem or know how to solve it?

Have you repaired file permissions?
Try uninstalling the MOTU drivers and downloading the latest version. You will need to use the installer to uninstall the old version first.
It may not be helpful, but I had trouble launching Logic 08 occasionally, then when I upgraded to Finale 2008 it always froze at that place. The MOTU drivers were the problem in my case.

Encore CS5 freezes on "initiating transcoding" during startup

At the moment I am a very frustrated Encore CS5 user. Help.
I cannot get Encore to open. The program will start and when it gets to "initiating transcoding" it will become non responsive and the only way to stop it is to turn the power off on the computer.
I previously ran CS4 for at least a year on the same computer with no issues. I upgraded to CS5 in early september and was able to successfully burn at least 2 projects. All other CS5 components work fine EXCEPT Encore. This latest behavior seems to have started about two weeks ago.
I've done the following
1- an earlier post suggested upgrading a roxio driver. Did that - no change.
2-I've followed most of the simpler suggestions on the "Troubleshoot system errors and freezes | Adobe software on Windows (cpsid_82252) - including trying to wipe preferences (couldn't figure out how to do that on Encore - since it won't open!), creating a new administrative profile and updating every driver I could think of. I did not yet try the more involved strategies such as selective startup.
3-I completely uninstalled CS4, Reinstalled CS5 and updated. Encore opened once and will not open again.
Oh and I also called Adobe support - waited on hold for over an hour to speak to someone on a very lousy, almost inaudible connection only to be referred to the same document I'd already read on my own. I was told I could pay for support (which seems ludicrous given that the program won't even open and is brand new!) and was even willing to do that, but the support tech seemed to imply I should try uninstalling cs4 first.
So now I'm back at square one. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You can try one more thing.
Just enable your drive
try with other software to burn a small file(nero or any other software)
if it works, Install the roxio drivers from

Reboot your system and try to launch encore.

Indesign freezes anyone have any suggestions?

I am using CS2 and while I can open both old and new documents as soon as I try to do anything (including save) the program freezes.I am using Windows XP as the operating systemand Indesign is 4.0.5.
I use this program regularly and have never had this happen before so I am quite baffled.The program is not even responding to shift+control+alt. The only thing it responds to is shift+alt+delte

Close InDesign, go to C:\Documents and Settings\<User>\Application Data\Adobe\InDesign\Version 4.0 and rename the files InDesign Defaults and InDesign SavedData, then restart ID. This will replace the preferences with the factory defaults.
To find those two files you must set Explorer to show hidden files: In Explorer go to Tools > Folder Options... View tab and select the radio button to show hidden files and folders. I usually uncheck the boxes to hide extensions and to hide system files as well. Showing extensions allows you to identify files more easily, but hiding system files is the default for a reason -- deleting system files if you don't know what you're doing can render the OS inert -- so if you feel at all nervous about it, leave that one checked.
Does that make a difference?
