Not sure enough to be an expert Victor, but I think you need to look into Enabling Usage Rights for Acrobat Reader, in order to make you user-filled pdfs saveable in Reader. I'm sure that's the case going from LiveCycle > Acrobat (meaning rights have to be enabled), but I can't be certain from within ID.
Going from LC > Acrobat (where you view it with a full-version), you have to enable Reader rights so your users using Reader can save their completed .pdf, else it simply won't save the compelted .pdf; it will throw an error every time - "Document can only be printed out and filled-in", as I recall.
(using Acrobat X): File > Save As > Reader Extended .pdf (again, I'm pullng this from memory so it may not be exact. But I'm pretty sure this is what you need)

Can anyone that works wirth xml in InDesign help me

I am trying to create a schema to get an Excel workbook into xml so I can take that information and make a member list in inDesign CS6 so I don't have to type it by hand. This is the schema:

When I bring the schema into Excel, everything seems to be fine except that the top of the tree is wrong in excel. memberList is nott at the top ot the tree. When I pull it over to populate the cells I get no names but when i click on the cell it highlights the proper name in the tree.

I typically get XML from a database, or an Excel sheet without the troublesome XML mapping. Once I simply received an Access database. Access spits out XML in a mostly usable state.
I use an XML editor that converts the Excel sheet to XML, do any needed transformations, search and replaces, etc in the editor, then save it as an XML I use in ID. The editor is XML Blueprint. I often do other manipulations using UltraEdit as I have long used it for programming and am comfortable with it.
I did a test in Excel's requisite mapping and found it so cumbersome I didn't successfully get it to export in the 20 minutes it took me to try it. I suspect I could do it with more head scratching but I don't have much hair left.
But I'll give it another try later today or tonight and see if I can help in the way you want to go about it.

Indesign CS5 and CS6 crashing

OSX 10.7.5
Working in Indesign CS5 and CS6 on the same computer. Opening multiple different documents, it will crash either while browsing the file, closing, or saving at random intervals.

Using Universal Type Server 3 client for fonts. I tried doing a synchronize and reset, and reactivating all of the fonts, but this did not help.

Is Universal Type Server updated to the latest version? Is InDesign the only program you're facing issues with? Are you working with the document that is located in a network location? Try saving the file locally to your computer and see if you can replicate the crash. Clean the InDesign cache location by dragging the en_US folder from the following location: Macintosh HD/Users/Username/Library/Caches/Adobe InDesign/version 7.0 or version 8.0/ for both CS5 and CS6. If you can't see the Library, then use the Go menu of the Finder holding down the Alt key on the keyboard to make the Library visible inside the Go menu and navigate to it that way.
Once you've cleaned the cache, re-launch InDesign and open your document to edit. Do not activate all fonts using the UTS, just activate the fonts that you used in your document to test for crash. If ID still crashes, then replace fonts by local fonts and test for crash.
Change the Display performance settings from Preferences to Fast for both Options panel and Adjust view settings panel and test for crash.

My Indesign and Photoshop CS6 are telling me not enough memory

I have the new iMac with a 3.11 TB fusion hard-drive and 16 G of memory. My Indesign and Photoshop CS6 are giving me low memory warnings and are very sluggish. According to everything I have found there should be no reason for this. So far it is slower then my old mac pro which I used CS3 on. I realize that the new CS is a RAM hog but what I have should be more then enough to build a half page ad with 22 placed photos or a game-board which is mostly vector art without it acting up. Has anyone else had this issue. Is there a way to allocate more memory to these programs?

You know Mr. Mylenium, the more I think about the more I don't want you to explain yourself unless you can be helpful. The reason I try to avoid using these forums is precisely because of answers like yours. Completely snide and unhelpful. I have been doing graphic design for 14 years now and have always used macs. One of my frustrations is that they are not as easy to get into as they used to be. That being said, I am a designer. I think with the creative side of my brain not the technical. If you cannot be helpful then please don't answer. I have no time for that kind of stuff.
One more thing... just in case it helps you give an actual answer (yes my snidish frustrated side is definitely coming out right now)... the programs did not start out slow. I've had this since January and last month is when it started. Because of my many years of experience I am thinking that it probably has to do with some incompatible upgrade.

It really depends on which subscription plan you are signed up to. Normally whichever programs are available thru your subscription are listed for you to install in the CC desktop manager application. If you do not see certain programs listed it might be because your machine does not meet the system requirements for them... that is normally what happens with the manager.

They do, but what happens when the client(s) move to CC? Of course doing
so opens a new can of worms for you since 10.6.8 is unsupported for
anything later than CS6.
You should start budgeting for some upgrades sooner rather than later.

There are better ways of doing this but I'm scared Harb's will beat me up or even worse not answer my questions on the forum so you should go for In-Tools plug in.
It seems that one can get creative cloud in Israel now and if not it must be coming very soon as the adobe Israel site is full of it.
If you have a US, UK etc. address then you can for sure sucribe to it from Israel.

The CS6 trial version converted ALL my InDesign files to CS6!!

The CS6 trial version converted ALL my InDesign files to CS6!! Is there any way to get them all back to CS5. Right now I'm incompatable with everyone I work with. I don't want to save every file back to .IDMl when working with vendors and other designers.

CS6 only converted any documents you opened and saved. CS6 is likely associated with indd files, but that is a separate issue. Try opening a file you have not saved from CS6 by first starting CS5 and opening that file from the File | Open menu in CS5.

I believe you can import them from Flash Professional CS6. I've never done it, however. From the Animation panel menu, there's a Manage Preset command. You're supposed to be able to load motion presets from Flash.

You have Photography CC installed &activated on one computer, you can also log in to www.creative.adobe.com & install it from there.

Hi Dougbale,
Installation is done using the Adobe Application Manager, not by downloading anything using your web browser. You can update InDesign by going to Help > Updates…. This will open up the Application Manager, and install any updates that are available.

CS6 InDesign Help Needed

I installed CS6 and everything works fine but InDesign. I get an error message whan I open the program saying that one of the UI Plug Ins didn't install properly. It doesn't explain how to fix it though. Can someone help or advise how to correct this?

I have Windows 7. I uninstalled and reinstalled the program and now I don't even get an error message anymore. A Windows message pops up from Norton Security stating "This program has encountered a problem and is shutting down." Is this a setting on the Security system that is not allowing the program to run? All of the other CS6 programs run fine. What else do you need to know about my system?

The Kindle whitepaper is out of date. In particular, it seems that Amazon does not accept Calibre-created.mobi files - .mobi files created by converting from .epub to .mobi in Calibre - and insists on using Kindlegen to create .mobi files. In my experience, however, Calibre does a better job of converting from .epub to .mobi than Kindlegen, and I do not know why .mobi files created by Calibre are unacceptable.
