InDesign Icons are Blank in MacOs10.10.3

On my MacBook Pro (17-inch, Early 2009--2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo)
I have uninstalled CS6 and CC14, reinstalled CC14 and still all my InDesign file icons are blank. I can use Get Info and past the icon from a file that still has one, but nothing else has worked. The InDesign install is from a package and initially it did sync with the admin account (not mine) and I think that is when the problem started. On the uninstall, I checked uninstall preferences and On the second install, I made sure Sync Settings is turned off. Anything I can do?

What do you mean with the install is from a package?
Did you install it from the original installer, which is the only way to install any Adobe Program or do you mean with package some kind from migration?

Yes, it doesn't work. I ran in safe mode. nothing changed. I uninstalled Mozilla firefox with only standard removal, no change. I finally uninstalled Mozilla with complete removal and reinstalled it, then it return to normal. Why does this happen? Thanks for your reply.

Try a reset Carole ...
Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings

After rearranging icons on Springboard, some icons are blank

I moved several apps to different locations or pages. When I turned on the phone this morning, most of the app icons are blank. I resynced with iTunes but now both iTunes and the iPhone are showing blank icons. How do I get the icons back?

I unchecked all additional apps on the iPhone from the iTunes app tab and then resynced to remove the apps from the device. I then checked the apps again and resynced. The icons were no longer blank on the iPhone Springboard but were no longer arranged on the pages I had moved them to. I'll live with this solution until someone else posts a reply.

Upgraded iPhone to install iCloud, now icons are blank white boxes

I have been a MobileMe user for 4 years. Since Apple will no longer support MobileMe, I decided to join iCloud. I upgraded my Mac to Lion, no problem. But when I went to upgrade my phone's ios, a dozen of my app icons went blank white. The titles are still there; the apps appear to be working, but the screeen sure looks strange with all these white squares. How can I restore the icon pictorial?

Start with a simple Reset:
Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears (ignore the Slide to Power Off option that shows up first).
A new sync with iTunes might also be a good idea.

If you are having issues with your icons on your iPad's screen, you may want to try some things to troubleshoot.
First, quit all running applications and test again -
iOS: Force an app to close
Next, I would try restarting the iPhone -
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
If the issue is still present, you may want to restore the iPhone as a new device -

Just installed firefox updates today and now several icons are not showing up. The link works but the icons are blank. Especially annoying when needed on certain sites like eBay.

Why are the icons not working? I depend on the icons on several sites to tell me the status of orders etc. and with them not working now, I am in a jam. I dread the thought of going back to Explorer.
Please help.

Thanks one again. I know you helped me the last to. I do have the Deja Vu font set in my folder. I downloaded and the last time. So I don't know if there is supposed to be more or not, but those were installed with Windows-XP after my reformat.
This is really driving me nuts. as I've done several re-formats on my computer and several friends computers and even upgraded hardware so I am not necessarily a software or programming expert, I am somewhat advanced when it comes to computers in general and can usually diagnose the problem but these font's are the problem and they never were before.
I did see in another forum that if you had a Dell Computer and did the Microsoft update for the onboard video card driver that it could be the culprit, but I have that disabled being I have a much better graphics card so the updates from Microsoft for the onboard video weren't installed.
It' a Dell Dimension 3000 with an Intel(R) 82865G Graphics Controller so I don't believe it is the culprit being it is disabled. The actual video card that I am using is a PCI Nvidia GeForce 9400 GT with 1 GB Memory. And I didn't have any problem before.
I appreciate the help. But still can't get things to work. Live Help Chat doesn't open for another two hours so maybe they can do "Remote Access" or something and can check setting and help me. But if you come up with other suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated.

Illustrator and InDesign CC are blank!

When I open Illustrator CC and InDesign CC the only thing that comes up is the menu tabs around the edges of my screen (Top - Menu, Left - Tools and Right - Tabs edges) and the whole centre of the program is missing, all I can see is my desktop image and those menu tabs around the edges. Please help.

Mail's icons are blank and preferences won't open

I have thrown away the plist file from my library but the problem persists.
I can function without the icons showing up in the buttons above the message window, but not being able to access privileges is difficult.

Currently in Mail 3.x, there is an oval in the upper right of the Mail window, but in the Preferences window, there is not.
Let's do a test: Create a New User Account, and as that New User launch Mail and try setting up one email account (if POP select to leave messages on the server after download. See the following if not familiar with adding a new user account:

The reason for doing this is to test the Mail app itself, and not to permanently switch to a new user account. Tell me if after setting up one email account, and requesting the Preferences pane, the behavior continues in that New User Account?

After upgrade to iOS5, 1/3 of app icons are blank.

The buttons with title are there but no logo picture.

Maybe delete the app and reload it from your backup?
BTW, did you run a general app update after upgrading to iOS5? I ask because I had about a dozen or so app updates available around the time that iOS5 came out. Worth checking in the app store.

Try a hard reset first. To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
If that doesn't work, unsync and resync the apps from your iPod via iTunes.

Desktop Icons are blank after upgrade

Has anyone else noticed that in lion your alias links sometimes show as clear squares? Mine has almost daily. If you click on them and move them the blue folder is back.. Its bother some but not an issue. If you have seen this can it be fixed?

Same thing happening here on my mid-2010 MacBook Pro 15. I don't recall this being a problem at all in Snow Leopard. Hope the 10.7.2 update fixes the problem.

Try the following:
- A reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Make sure the apps are in your iTunes library and then sync
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.

You can check for issues with the Windows icon cache and try to rebuild the icon cache.
# Open the Task Manager (Shift+Ctrl+ESC)
# In the Process tab, right-click on the Explorer.exe process and select End Process.
# Open the file picker via "File > New Task (Run)" and click the Browse button.
# Type or Paste %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local (%LocalAppData%) in the File name field (AppData is a hidden folder).
# Select the IconCache.db file and use "Delete" in the right-click context menu to delete the file.
# After the IconCache.db file has been deleted, start a new explorer.exe process via "File > New Task" to get the desktop and Taskbar back.
The IconCache.db file is a hidden file, so make sure that you can see hidden files.

Illustrator File Icons are White?? Windows 7

I seem to have lost my icons for Illustrator CS2 and InDesign CS2 files. The files show as a standard white "page" icon, instead of the program icon. Since I often have multiple Adobe file formats in one folder, it makes it difficult to distinguish which ones are Illustrator vs. InDesign. Oddly enough, Photoshop files and GoLive site files show their icons for files.
I read elsewhere online that this could be caused by a cleaning utility program such as CCleaner when "{GUID} folders are deleted from C:\Windows\Installer." However, I can't find the answer as to how to FIX it.
I have tried using Windows>Default Programs>Associate a file type or protocol with a program to check that Illustrator and InDesign are set as defaults to open the files. I found that the programs were set to shortcuts within the Adobe folder. I fixed that by deleting the shortcut and putting the actual program link as the source to open the program. (Actual program .exe file was located within Adobe Illustrator> Support Files>Contents>Windows.)
Also, I have the Adobe CS2 Suite installed under Program Files (x86).

Update: I used the program Default Program Editor suggested in this thread. It easily fixed my blank Illustrator icons, but my will not fix my InDesign icons, which still show as blank white pages. Well, I'm halfway there, at least.
