Indesign in CS5.5 not launching when selected.

Hi,
We have Indesign as part of the CS5.5 suite that was working fine until yesterday when it would not launch once it was selected.
I have reinstalled the program and the whole suite but without any luck.
All the other programs in the suite work fine, it's only Indesign.
Can anyone assist?

You can also try to Recreate Indesign preferences:
Make sure application is closed.
Go to the locations mentioned below and rename version 7.5 to old version 7.5
Roaming Data Folder:
C:\Users\[User Name]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\InDesign\Version [#]
Local Cached Data Folder:
C:\Users\[User Name]\AppData\Local\Adobe\InDesign\Version [#]

Hi. I have a problem with external editing preferences. If I add Photoshop as an external editor, it won't launch when selected, if I add it as an additional external editor it will. Why? How can I fix this as I need to use Photoshop and another program as the additional external editor.

I don't know why Photoshop won't start. However, it's possible to create external editor presets using the additional external editor tools. There are instructions on how to do this in the Lightroom help. You could assign Photoshop and create one preset, and then assign another program and create another preset.
I don't know if deleting your preferences would fix the problem or not. It can sometimes fix other problems.

Any way for iPhoto to NOT launch when iPhone connected?

Hey gang-
Is there any way to configure iPhoto to NOT launch every time my iPhone is connected to my iMac? I understand why it does it- because there are photos on my iPhone Camera roll- I get it. But I would love for it to NOT launch iPhoto every time. I know I can use Image Capture to tell iPhoto not to launch for ANY camera, but that's overkill. I just want iPhoto to not launch when my iPhone is connected. Is there maybe an app or a terminal command that could configure that?

Okay- how about this? Is there an app that would enable me to move my photos off my Camera Roll and organize them separately? That might solve the problem of iPhoto seeing them.

Indesign CS4 will not launch in Windows Vista

Indesign CS4 will not launch but all other CS4 programs will in Windows Vista, has been worked perfectly up until mid february, I have spent two weeks dealing with Adobe support, and finally I ran “Windows Installer Clean Up” and restarted as requested on phone call to adobe today, then ran “WinCS4Cleanupscript” which inform me that it was clean (or words to that effect) and restarted. Did new install of CS4, at registration I noticed that the Reg Form was pre filled and with my preferences which was a bit strange. After all that Indesign still does not launch but is running. Please can anyone help.

I think the onus is on Rapport to sort its software to prevent it interfering with other applications, and there is a post in that thread that indicates that Rapport is both aware of the problem and is working to overcome it.
I would hope that Adobe itself would have picked up this problem by at least monitoring this forum, but other than adding it to the knowledgebase for its technical support, which I don't expect is an overnight thing to do, I can't see what else it would be expected to do.
Perhaps if anyone from Adobe is monitoring this problem they could chime in here and let us know what the position is. I strongly suspect that Trusteer may have been the reason I couldn't get InDesign to run under Windows 7, and so I rolled the whole shooting match back to XP. I am planning to reinstall W7 with the knowledge that I may have to toggle Trusteer on and off to run InDesign, but it would be helpful to have some assurance from either party that a fix is on its way.
In the previous thread the Rapport response implied there was reference to the problem on its FAQ page. If there is I can't find it.

After updating to Lightroom CC 2015, it will not launch when I click on the icon. A window gets up: "__crtCreateSymbolicLinkW" not found in DLL "MSVCR110.dll". Same failure occurs when I start Photoshop CC.
LR 5.7.1 Starts without Problem.

Itunes 10.4 not launching when connecting iphone

Snow Leopard 10.6.8. Just updated iTunes to 10.4. iTunes will not launch when connecting the iPhone to my MacBook Pro. Once connected, manually opening iTunes will allow the sync to happen, but only then. iTunes helper app is there in Login items.
Minor inconvenience, but could be a problem if I miss too many syncs due to this.
Any thoughts?

I had the exact same problem upgrading iTunes to 10.4 on Snow Leopard. It looks like there's a problem with iTunesHelper under Login Items. I found the solution here: https://discussions.apple.com/message/15666966 Simply follow the instructions to re-add iTunesHelper to Login Items, restart, and you should be good to go!

The icons in the Dock are aliases. If iPhoto isn't launching from the dock the alias may be broken. What you can do is first test to if iPhoto is working by launching the app from the Applications folder. Once you have determined iPhoto is OK then remove the old Dock icon by holding it down and dragging it to the desktop, it will disappear in a puff of smoke. Then go to the Applications folder and drag the iPhoto icon to the Dock and test it.

Mail Not Launching When Trying to Open from User Folder

Mail is not launching when I try to open it from within the home folder in my user folder. I have reported the problem to Apple.
It does, however, launch when I try to open it from within the Applications folder.
Any ideas why?

I do have a MS Intellipoint driver of some kind, what do you mean by "check for it"? Try a different mouse? If I uninstall the driver, will any mouse still work?
This might not have any effect on your Adobe programs, but earlier InteliPoint drivers have caused major issues with several Adobe programs. Going back a couple of years, MS did change the InteliPoint drivers, and all was good for about a year. Then, recently, a change was made, and other problems developed with Adobe programs. Most of these were noted in Adobe PrPro. I do not recall any here.
In those other cases, the users replaced the InteliPoint drivers with the generic mouse drivers, and the problems disappeared. Do not know if this will have any impact on your issue, but GUI problems have been cleared up with the replacement of the InteliPoint drivers.
All that I hope is that you will find a cure to this issue. I would be very nervous, should my Assets disappear from my Windows Explorer, or similar.

TS1501 Image Capture does not launch when I connect my iPhone to my iMac and open iPhoto. No "Prefernces" is offered under Image Capture. I cannot import photos to iPhoto.

Can't import photos from iPhone to iPhoto. Image Capture does not launch when iPhone is connected to my iMac and iPhoto is open. There is no "Preferences" option offered to click when in Image Capture.

This helped me. It is advice I found from a user named Carlosmara. First make sure iPhoto is closed and your iPhone is not connected. Then, as Carlosmara stated in his post,
"Go to your Library/preferences and delete the file com.apple.iPhoto.plist
IPhoto should recognized the iPhone again."
The file in question is under your user folder.
I then restarted my mac and plugged in the iPhone so that it would sync. After the sync, when I opened iPhoto, my iPhone was recognized and I could download the photos perfectly.

When was the last time that WIFI worked on the HP4530s? If you aer using a dock, then remove the laptop from the dock.
You can check the status of the WIFI adapter in Device Manager. You should have something similar to the below image if your model is equipped with WIFI.
The HP Support Assistant and also be used to troubleshoot network issues.
Look under the Internet and Security topics in HPSA for the adapter.

IPhoto (9.3.2) not launching when I plug in my iPhone 4S

Seems the recent update to iPhoto has broken the connection with my iPhone 4s. I have changed my iPhoto preferences to not launch/launch iPhoto when the iPhone is plugged in. Restarted iPhoto, my iMac and my iPhone. Still, each time I plug in my iPhone, I cannot connect it to iPhoto to import my pictures.
Any ideas or suggestions?

Detail region does not refresh when selecting from a drop-down list in master region

I am using DW CS3 and have updated to version 1.6.1 of Spry. Using an XML dataset, I am able to create a Spry table as the master region that links to a detail region that displays a small JPG graphic. It works fine in this format (clicking on a row displays the correct graphic). However, my table has 80 rows and requires the user to do too much scrolling. So I changed the master region to a drop-down repeat list, but the graphic does not change when a new selection is made in the drop down list. Listed below is the code produced when I used the insert Spry Repeat List. I got the same results when adding a spry:setrow="dsChartNurse". I also tried -- onclick="dsChartNurse.setCurrentRow('{ds_RowID}');" -- which again made no difference.
When I removed children from the spry:repeat, the master region displayed as a two column list of all 80 items in a drop-down list format.

Thanks for the quick reply. I did solve the problem I was having by changing from onclick to onchange in the master region. But, now I have another problem with, of course, IE. I just put in online at http://www.minursemap.org/ageDistNurse.html. When opened in IE, the drop down list displays the last entry, but the image is for the first in the list. Thanks again for your help.

Apps not working when selected in App folder on Dock

The application folder on Dock opens but when I select an app by clicking on it, the app doesn't open/run.
What can I do so that the apps run when selected in dock?

When I installed Snow Leopard on my iMac, two folders did not appear on the dock that Snow Leopard installed on my MBPro: the Applications Folder and the Documents Folder.
Someone suggested that I drag those folders from the sidebar to the Dock which I did.
However, now when I select either one of those folders and then select an application or a document, neither run/appear.
How can I run an application I select or open a document that I select from the folders on the Dock?

TThe effects controls should be in the inspector. Select the clip in the timeline and post a screen shot of the video inspector.
