InDesign installation problem - requests serial number

I just subscribed for Creative Cloud in order to get Photoshop and InDesign in particular. Photoshop works, but I cannot get InDesign to function. When I try to start the application, it says my trial period has expired (which is the case - long time ago I had the trial on my computer) and requests for serial number. Even if the application should obviously be included in my Creative Cloud subscription, I cannot get past this. Could you please advice? Any help would be highly appreciated.

You might try uninstalling and reinstalling
For Uninstall
Control Panel > Programs & Features (Windows 7)
Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs (XP)
Mac HD > Applications > Utilities > Adobe Installers (Mac OS X)
and then reinstall using Adobe Application Manager from the Start Menu (Win) or Applications folder (Mac)

  • Problem when serial number entered during installation

    I got a problem during AI CS6 installation. error occurs when my serial number was entered, and came up an instruction told me that "we can not valadate the serial number for AI CS6".
    I want to know what's the problem and what i can do to solve it.

  • Indesign CS2 personalize software serial number error

    ok this is my 2nd time installing Indesign in my computer, but i keep getting an invalid serial number, its the right serial because thats what i used to install it, then when i try to run indesign its asking me for a serial number again to "Personalize the software" its the same serial and its giving me invalid.
    I tried the cacls command and the disk clean up on the adobe help, but none of that worked, I need help please i really need to use it, thanks..

  • Problem with serial number while reinstalling CS6 Design Standard on new  computer

    I have a new Computer (Windows 8) and am now trying to install my Adobe Design Standard CS 6.
    I bought that suite and installed it sucessfully on my old computer  in Jan 13 as an Upgrade to Adobe Design Standard CS 5.5 (which was also an Upgrade Version from another Adobe Product).
    When beginning the installation on my new computer today , I was asked for my serial number. The serial number for my Adobe Design Standard CS6 was accepted, however, that is only an Upgrade Version.
    As the Product I'm upgrading from I chose the option Adobe Design Standard CS5.5 and gave my serial number for that product.
    Then I got the message: 'Diese Seriennummer gilt nicht für ein kompatibles Produkt. Geben Sie eine andere Seriennummer ein', which means translated: This serial number is not valid  for a compatible Produkt. Give another serial number.
    I don't know why my Adobe Design Standard CS6 should not be compatible to my Adobe Design Standard CS 5.5 and I don't have another serial number.
    Could you help me with this problem?

  • Problem with serial number on second install

    I bought and downloaded CS4 upgrade. The first install on my desktop went fine. When trying to install the second on my laptop, the serial number box turns up a red x immediately upon typing it. I have verified my serial number and re-typed it numerous times. I did an on-line chat and after a half hour wait was told they couldn't help me. Gave me two phone numbers to call for licensing problem, both long distance. I called both numbers and got fax machines both times. This is frustrating, thus my screen name.....frustrated Brooks. Can anyone help?

    Technically you are only allowed 2 installs on your machine, which includes all versions.  If you have CS3 on the computer then you are at capacity and the system may know this.  This is a grey area but there was a thread on in today.

  • Problem with serial number Lr2 to Lr4 upgrading

    Welcome. I have a problem in LR 4 I use Lr2 upgrade to L4. From time to time my PC lost the serial number of the program. I have to enter the new LR2 and LR4 number losing all presets. After reinstalling Windows 7 is still the problem exists. Is it possible to send me a new LR4 for installations already without error?

    Your presets should not be lost even if you have to re-license LR4 with 2 serial numbers.  Something else must be resetting things on your computer.   Are you using System Restore?
    Make a backup of your critical LR files elsewhere on your computer and if they are reset or lost, restore from that backup.

  • Problem with Serial Number when I tried to do the UD

    Dear Colleagues,
    I need your help with the issue below:
    I have one material that Serial Number profile was not configured. The GR was done for 3 pcs, these material is to do the UD, but before to completed the process (UD) the material was changed and the Serial Number profile was set.
    More 27 pcs were receiced, and for these pcs the Serial Number as created in the Material Document.
    The user was not able to do the UD, and I requested him to use the t-code MBST to cancel the Material documents, but is not able to do this process for the Material Document that doesn't have the Serial Number (This is the fisrt Material document regarding that 3 pcs).
    Now I have these 3 pcs for to make the UD and I'm not able, because I have an Error inform that I need to have the Serial Number, and I'm not able to cancel the Material document as well.
    I want to know if we have some SAP Note, or one procedure that I can use to resolve this problem.

  • InDesign Suddenly Not Recognizing Serial Number

    I have CS2, which I installed right after I bought the Intel Mac, 3 years ago.
    Was able to enter the Photoshop serial number that it wanted at that time, but I have since lost or misplaced the folder that had all my Adobe registration info.
    I have the Photoshop disks, the manuals [remember when you actually GOT manuals!], the original boxes, but I can find only ONE serial number, 6.5 upgrade, and the CS2 Install disk doesn't like it.
    I have the CS2 serial number.
    Here's the problem:
    A last week, I had InDesign open and minimized all day while I was dealing with a website issue that took way longer than I thought it would. Forgot all about InDesign. When I tried to shut down at the end of the day, I had to ForceQuit InDesign, but it closed.
    The next morning when I tried to open InDesign to continue working, I was presented with the registration page.
    I HAVE no serial number just for InDesign except for a previous upgrade [removed by forum moderator] but the InDesign screen doesn't like that at all.
    So, I thought I would see if I could re-install it from the original CS2 disks. I put in the first disk and IT wants information! I supplied the serial number but it asks for the serial number of a Photoshop 5.0 or later. I have 5.0, 5.5, and 6.0 - the disks, the manuals, the original boxes, and I entered the ONE serial number I was able to find. It didn't like it.
    I've had several Adobe IDs, numerous computer, lots of different email addresses, four or five different physical addresses, and during the past 3+ years have dealt with power outages blowing machines, a flood, and no printer on this Mac. One of my accounts is showing some product registrations, but not all and not a Photoshop 5.0 or beyond. It's showing Elements and Premier, which I purchased afterward for my husband's PC.
    Once upon a time, I printed out a record of all the PageMaker, PageMill, and Type purchases, but it's in that mysterious missing "Adobe" folder - the hanging file labeled "Adobe" is empty.
    I've entered help desk tickets, but the "resolved" my problem without resolving my problem and haven't responded to my "reopened" ticket.
    Now, today, InDesign won't even open at all, even to the registration screen. I do not know what to do.
    What can I do?  I'm still on Tiger, if that matters at all.
    Anyone know. I really need to get into InDesign. Would love to upgrade to CS4, but just cannot afford it right now.

    In the middle of cleaning out my Gmail inbox (which was why I didn't respond immediately - way too much "marketing mail" in there). My mind's too muddled right now to make much sense of "techy" stuff, and I'm on a different computer. But I promise, I will give the situation more attention. About the same time that happened, other weird stuff started happening. Haven't pinpointed it. Am on a Mac - guess I felt "too safe".

  • RMA Problem: "Invalid Serial Number&qu

    Hi, I have a problem with my Creative Vision M 60 GB mp3 player and I've alredy successfully contacted support.
    I've been told to make an RMA so i can send my player away for repairs.
    However, when i enter my serial number and date of purchase at http://rma-online.europe.creative.com i get the following error message:
    "The serial number you have indicated is invalid or service request has already been created for this product. Please use the Contact Us option."
    I'm 00% sure that I've entered a right and valid serial-number, so I guess it's because I've already had my player for repairs before.
    Last time I got the RMA number: 890200264
    However, when I try to "log in" with this I only get information on my last service request.
    What should I do to get a new RMA number and finally be able to send my mp3-player away?
    The reason I'm posting this question here is because I've already contacted the person I've been e-mailing, but I've experienced a reply takes at least 2 days, so I'm hoping for a faster reply here.
    I wish it wasn't so hard to get in contact with people at support. I am aware that i can call the support-number in Ireland, but it's both expensi've (I li've in nNorway) and the opening hours make it hard for me to call from home.
    Please, please help me so I can finish my RMA

    Thanks for the tip, I know how slow and frustrating the system is, I'm thankfully done with the worst part, last time it went smooth from the RMA.
    Now it frustrates me that I have to use several days to communicate with support that i got a problem with the RMA process. I've told them that I've had my player for repairs before, and if the system is only made for being used once, they should have knewn I would have problems this time! I hope to god I will get a helping solution in the next reply...
    I love my creative products, but next time I'm buying it'll probably be from a different producer... It's just not worth all the time and energy to go through Creative's support system...

  • ID CS2 Requests Serial Number When Launched

    Hi,
    Does anyone happen to know why InDesign CS2 would ask for the serial number when it's launched? It displays a dialog that says 'Personalize your software' and asks for Name, Company and Serial Number.
    This is not so much of a problem, except that it doesn't accept the serial number. The only number I've got is a suite number and all the other apps (PS, AI, GL) launch fine and display all but the last four digits of the serial number so it looks like I've got that right. I wonder if it's after an app-specific number but I don't have one! All I have is the number on the CS2 box at work.
    Do I have to uninstall InDesign and reinstall it?
    Any help gratefully received.

    Do you have admin privileges in the account you're doing the serializing from? If not, try logging in from such an account. Other possible fixes might include repairing permissions in Disk Utility or emptying your caches with Onyx or some other cache management tool before attempting to reserialize.
    I certainly feel your pain though. Ever since updating to Acrobat 8.1.2 I have been unable to stop Acrobat from asking for my password every time I launch it due to some failure in the wretched and malevolent "self-healing" features. :)

    i'm trying to install photoshop elements 13 multiple languages mac that i downloaded tonight online. i purchased photoshop elements 13 and premiere elements 13 as a package a few days ago on line but it appears that what I purchased was for windows and not for mac. I have a serial number for each (photoshop elements 13 and premiere elements 13). The installer is not accepting the serial number as valid for some reason. I'm guessing that the problem was caused by the fact that what I bought was english windows and what i downloaded as mac -- which is what i need. help me please!

  • FCP 7.0 upgrade problem recognizing serial number

    I am upgrading from FCP 6.0.6 to 7.0 on my new MacBook Pro but I can't get the installation disc to recognize the serial number. If I enter an incorrect number it will immediately say so, but when I enter the correct number I just get the spinning wheel. I've tried reinserting the disc, restarting the computer, etc. etc. but nothing will get it past the serial number page. The computer meets all the system requirements for 7.0. Also, I did successfully use the 7.0 disc to upgrade FCP on my MacPro desktop machine so I know the installation disc is not defective. Any ideas?

    Thanks but that did not solve the problem. So, I went back in and uninstalled FCP 6.0.1 (following instructions on the Apple site) and reinstalled it. FCP 6.0.1 works fine but the upgrade still fails to get past the serial number input. I have another 7.0 upgrade disc here at work so I tried it to be sure it's not a problem with the disc. I did get a different result with the other disc: after inputting the 7.0 serial number, another prompt opened and asked me to input the original serial number for 6.0, which I inputted. Then it too went into spinning wheel mode. It must be searching for something and can't find it???

  • Indesign CS cannot verify serial number

    Can anyone help me? I was working with an InDesign CS file suddenly the application crash and after that I cannot open it again. I tried but I get a mmessage that says: Adobe In Design cannot verify the serial number. I try everything I called Adobe and they also do not know waht is going on. This happens after I accept an update for the Acrobat. Please can anyone help me I am working with two project with a terrible deathline!!! I have an Imac 7,1 Intell Core Duo with Mac OS 10.4.11 System. The Illustrator can't be open but the Photoshop opens without any problem. Thanks

  • Problems with serial number

    Hi, I hope someone can help me. I was redirected to this forum by adobe live chat. I have downloaded the trial version of CS4 Indesign and when I try to access it I'm asked for the serial number, which of course I don't have. Adobe is about as helpful as tits on a jack *** at this point. It sure doesn't make me want to be a potential customer.

    I'm a Windows guy with some mostly older Mac experience, so I'mgetting out of my comfort  zone here.
    System requirements are 10.4.11 or higher. Are you at 10.4.11?
    Is ther a way to extract the DMG and put the installer itself on the desktop? There were issues back in CS2 on Windows where failure to extract the installer from the zip files first would cause the trials to ask for serial number. Different kettle of fish, I know, but...
    If you want to try that, you'd need to uninstall the current trial, run the clean script and reinstall, but I'd wait on that until some of the Mac folk weigh in.
