InDesign keeps telling me it can't find some of my fonts
I'm on a Mac OS X Lion. When I check Font Book, the font is open, active, and it validates; also, Font Book didn't find any duplicates.
I Googled the problem, and one suggestion I found was to make an alias of my Font Folder and place that alias in InDesign's own font folder. I tried that, and it didn't seem to help.
One of the problem fonts is Arial Black, which I thought would be pretty basic and not cause problems.
Others are free fonts I found on the internet. I thought maybe InDesign had a way of checking to see if the fonts are legal, so I double checked their licenses, and they do seem to be free. (They are called Aldo the Apache and Alpha Quadrant).
Is there a way to make these fonts work or should I just trash them if they are useless anyway?
Thanks very much for the advice. The website you recommended said to follow the instructions in the script's read-me file, but it didn't download with a read-me.
I tried running the script anyway. I left it at what seemed to be the default of testing all fonts "0 ~ 594" and I left "Clear Font Cache" checked although I'm not sure what that means.
When it finished, the window that came up said that 0 fonts were tested and when I said to "Open log", nothing happened.
Did I do something wrong? Should I have unchecked "Clear Font Cache"?
I can do without the 2 free fonts that aren't working, but I would really like to get Arial Black to work.
Oh, the other weird thing is that the fonts display fine in my InDesign document (except for that pink highlighting that ID shows for font problems).

I can't uninstall iTunes on my computer...it keeps telling me it can't find the installer package. Any suggestions? I have tried to delete all the iTunes components already, it didn't work.
(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time? -

There are the screen shots. But I just wanna know how to get rid of these annoying messages! My project is just how I want, so these messages mean nothing to me.
Messages read:
1. Audio file Bass#12 not found
2. 1 invalid region(s) changedI'm using a german version, so i'm not shure about the translation...
Open your project and klick on "windows", "Audio Bin" ( shortcut "cmd9" ), search the filename there and delete it if you are shure that you don't need it.
If you need it, search it with Mac OSX Finder, and put it in the audio bin.
Is your Audio Path set ? Project Settings / Recording / Core Audio.... -
i've tried multiply times to update itunes 10.5 but it keeps saying that it can't find the file and i can't reinstall itunes because it will delete the 100 gigabites of info on it what can i do
I've had all kinds of trouble keeping my iTunes software current over the past year, but have found the easiest way to remedy the issue is to simply download the latest version of iTunes as though I am a first-time user and then just install it into the directory my current version of iTunes is using. Doing this has allowed me to update my software without losing any of my media/data. Hope this helps! Best of luck!!!

Why does iCal keep telling me calendar can't be found? I have my ical calendar synced with my android 2.3.6. They appear to be communicating and then the next time I check they aren't. I just randomly keep getting the error. I would like to sync my Google calendar, iCal and Android 2.3.6 calendar. Thanks for any suggestions!
It is kind of hard to reconstruct what you did exactly and it may be that things have gotten pretty messed up -- it's easy to do that with OSX. For starters, try running Disk Utility. First, verify your hard drive with the repair feature (there are probably four buttons that do 4 different things). If verify checks out okay, repair permissions. Depending upon which ones are messed it it may cure some of them but not all.

I am trying to get some advice as to why my Ipod will not completely sync since I updated Itunes. Itunes keeps telling me it can not sync my Ipod due to a duplicate file name? It will sync some of my songs but not all of them. Any thoughts?
Most likely the iPod filesystem is corrupted, during a partial sync, that freeze due to a timeout.
In My Computer, select the iPod, right click Properties->Tools->Check Now
tick both Fix filesystem and scan.for bad sectors.
This will fix the duplicate name error.

My Itunes keeps telling me I can't play certain songs because I already have five computers authorized, but I don't??? How do I fix this. I know over the years, I have had a lot of different computers at my work and that is the only place I use my Itunes at. So how do you unauthorize a computer that isn't even around anymore??
Make sure that yo have the boxed chanced to only sync the checked music. It appears that it is trying to sync ore than those.
You can try unsycing all music and resyncing. -

Can not find some messages in Mail using search
I have some problems with Mail.app I can not find some messages in Mail using search, the strange thing is that sometimes mail search finds some messages, but after rebuilding spotlight index the search displays other messages with the all messages searched using same search criteria. I have also tried to delete Envelope index file from the Mail folder in usr/library and forced mail to import all mailboxes but it started to crash importing some of mailboxes - I deleted the messages from that mailboxes, imported remaining mailboxes and tried to rebuild mailbox, but everything without a successes. Any ideas how to solve it?

LR can't find some of my photos
LR can't find some of my photos even though their location has not changed. When I tell it to locate the file and I find it, LR tells me that file number is associated with another photo.
I am assuming no changes have been made to alter the image, in that this is an original image that you have not worked on in lightroom before.
Find the file in your OS's file manager,
rename the file
In lightroom resync that folder.
(Note: If you have a bunch of images that you have retouched in LR and did not save the metadata,
place the renamed image in a sub folder to a folder that LR has access to or
in LR select all of the images and hit ctrl-s or
import that renamed image)
That image should now be available.
