InDesign Panel Tools in Configurator 2.0

Is there any way to include specific tools from individual panels, such as the Align panel, for example? I use the 2 Distribute Spacing tools in the Align panel fairly frequently, so I'd like to be able to put just them as tools on a panel in Configurator along with other things. This doesn't seem to be possible. I've only found access to the panel menus. Is that the way it is? Is there any plan to include this type of thing in a future release?
The InDesign end of Configurator 2.0 doesn't seem to be nearly as useful as it is for Photoshop. Sure hope that changes...

You probably need to run Configurator 2.0 as an administrator
by right clicking on the configurator 2.0 shortcut and choosing Run
as Administrator to be able to export the panel to the cs5 plugins\panels
folder.
You could save your panel as a .gpc file to your desktop and then
start configurator 2.0 as an administrator and then export the
panel to the cs5 plugins\panels folder.
(load the .gpc file back into configurator)

User Permissions being corrupted by InDesign DPS Tools

I am using a Mac Pro, running OSX 10.9.5 (2x2.26 GHz Quad-Core, 14GB DDR3).
I login with an admin account (I did have no other accounts).
Earlier this week I installed Adobe Creative Cloud and specifically the Digital Publishing tools. When I try to use the Folio Builder I get an error message "An update is required to use Folio Builder. Please click here to download the Folio Producer tools."
I contacted Adobe support about this and they told me it was a user permissions corruption (following 3 hours of chat and phone calls!). They fixed it by creating a second admin user account. The Folio Builder worked using this account, so they then amended the read/write Sharing & Permissions of InDesign in my main account. This fixed the issue. For a day. It then broke again.
I went back to Adobe and they told me to contact Apple as is an operating system problem. After much arguing I have had enough of Adobe and their passing the buck. This fixed it too. For a day also. I now have the same error.
The only work-around I have so far is to use InDesign and DPS in the second Admin user account that I have now created. Appears to be fine.
So, to sum up, my user account permissions appear to being corrupted quickly by the InDesign DPS tools. I am really stumped by this and really frustrated. Any suggestions are welcomed!

How To Test Idoc To File Scenario in ID From Tools- Test Configuration

Hi All,
Can any body help me in step by step process including screenshots for testing Idoc to file scenario in integration directory from tools->test configuration.
My scenario is passing the PO Idoc data from R/3 into a file using XI.
i have processed the idoc from R/3 and now i went to sxmb_moni in XI system and took the payload xml data.
In ID I have navigated to test configuration from tools then i have provided the following information.
Sender Service : Business system of R/3 b'coz here R/3 is the sender.
Sender Interface : ORDERS.ORDERS6
Receiver Service : Business system of XI b'coz here XI receives the data and         places it into a file
In payload text box i have copied the xml code which i have taken from sxmb_moni and clicked the run button. then i got the following error:
Sender Agreement
Internal Error
                 HTTP connection to ABAP Runtime failed.
                 Error: 403 Forbidden
                 URL: http://bxdci.boewe.custservice.de:8093/sap/xi/simulation?sap-client=100
                 User: PIDIRUSER
Kindly look into it and correct me if iam wrong or is there any other way to test this scenario in ID please suggest.

Specify the test confisuration as follows.
<b>Sender</b>
Service   : Business System of SAP R/3 System
Interface : The outbound message interface name of type the IDOC.
Namespace : will automatically loaded when u select the Interface. Check if it the correct namespace.
<b>Receiver:</b>
Service : Business System name for the Fle system.
Paste the payload that u copied from the sxmb_moni.
Now click on Run and test ur Scenario.
Was the scenario sucessfull in the Message Monitor.

InDesign panel: Mouse events dispatched twice on some computers

We've got a InDesign panel built with the Flex-based SDK and it's running in CS 5.0, 5.5 and 6.0 with no problems in a fair amout of installations (100+ different machines in all parts of the world). However, recently two customers reported a very strange issue that left us scratching our heads and I'd welcome any troubleshooting help since we are in the dark here.
The problem in these two particular instances is that all mouse clicks in our panel are dispatched twice meaning that fold-out tree views are immediately folded back again, drop-down menus are closed right away etc. We have not been able to find any common factors and not reproduced it ourselves. For the drop-down menus in particular we have no custom event handling at all so it's all internal to the Flash runtime as far as I can tell.
Obviously both problematic computers are out of reach for us (remote parts of the world) and the people who use them are busy in daily production work and can't pause for extended periods of time to allow for in-depth debugging.
Some observations that may help isolating the bug:
- On one Mac a newly created user account runs the same version of the ZXP perfectly with the same installation of InDesign CS 5.5.
- The second problematic Mac runs CS 5.0 and it is said to have been working about two weeks ago with no Adobe updates since then.
- Both machines have standard Apple mouse.
- The computers have been rebooted, the ZXP has reportedly been reinstalled, and on the second one I personally ran a Webex session where I witnessed that Kuler (also Flash-based, right?) didn't exhibit the same behavior.
- During the Webex session I could successfully use keyboard navigation to operate the same widgets (e.g. fold/unfold tree nodes).
I'm not that familiar with the runtime architecture of these Flash-based extensions to really know if the system-wide Flash Player is involved or if the runtime is entirely bundled with InDesign and not user-upgradeable. One customer tried upgrading to 11.5 just in case but nothing improved.
The customer with one machine where two user accounts had different behaviors has unfortunately (but understandably) reinstalled the user account since they cannot wait for this to be solved. This leaves me with a single instance (the CS 5, v7.0.4) where this bug is repeatable. Any idea on what I should try next while at the same time not interrupt the person's workflow too much?

myPanel.addMouseListener( new MouseAdapter() { } );But may you please say some words about the solution, I did not quite understand what you said about the propagation of the events. I must admit, I'm not very familiar with the event system and how these are propagated (from parent to child or vice versa?), so I can fully understand it and avoid those mistakes in the future.

BI Server - Solaris - Admin tool security configuration

I have a BI server running on Solaris. I want to use the admin tool to configure users/groups which are configured in an LDAP database.
Is this possible? Sifting through the forums, I can see that the admin tool is used to construct an offline rpd file before exporting it to the BI server. I need an online connectivity to do the same

There is no document titled "InDesign Server Installation and Configuration Guide". This was an error in the CS2 version of Introduction to InDesign Server.
You'll find the CS2 version of Introduction to InDesign Server in the InDesign Server CS2 ESD (the server download bundle). Even better you'll find the CS3 version in the InDesign CS3 Server SDK. Available at the following URL:

The information about Java/CORBA is specific to CS3, but the information about scripting and SOAP applies to CS2.

What font is used in the Indesign panels?

While sorting out my fonts I have accidently disabled the font that displays in the indesign panels. Can someone tell me what font is used? I did quite a few fonts at once so have no idea what it is (and checking illustrator and photoshop they don't seem to have been affected). Here is a pic to show what I mean. Thanks.

I found how to fix this.
There is a hidden XML file called manifest.xml located in you project folder here:
../.staged-extension/CSXS/manifest.xml
In that file there is a section called <Geometry>
By default there is an entry for size. You can add sections for min and max panel size values.

InDesign text tool is crashing InDesign CC

Hi Jeff,
Last night, I uninstalled Adobe Creative and all of the CC applications I installed. Reinstalled Adobe Creative and the apps I wanted, and InDesign Text Tool is STILL crashing the app. I'm opening InDesign CC 64 bit, which matches other programs I use (64 bit). Any other ideas what might be happening?
InDesign CS6 had no issues over the past 6 mos on my computer. It's a PC running Windows 7.

Flash Panels are not compatible with Photoshop CC 2014, so your Configurator Panels are useless in Photoshop CC 2014.
Maybe you can add your support to a Feature Request concerning the issue:
please publish an html5 alternative to configurator for photoshop cc 2014 and onwards

Why does Indesign CS6 Tools panel cover up the left side rulers?

Every time I open a window in Indesign CS6 I have to slide the window to the right so I can use the left-hand ruler and the x close button. Is there any way to change this in preferences? Or is this a glitch?

It is actually not a preference.
Method 1: Go to menu WINDOWS->ARRANGE
Method 2: Move the window with the mouse. When the window edges touch the tool bar edges, the window should be framed by a blue frame. Let go and it will be tabbed.

Help! InDesign CS6 tools not working

Hello,
I recently upgraded to CS6 on my PC and have run into some issues with InDesign. None of the tool buttons in the top ribbon or on my side menu function properly. For example, if I make a text box and wish to change the font, I can't select the font drop down menu, nor can I change the size of the type. This also happens when I create a shape and want to change size, color, line weight, line type, etc. Pages do not work either and I have had to use the bottom page navigation.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but the problem did not go away. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thank you!

I can´t export my "Bedienfeld" to CS6 Plugin/Panels, I use configurator 3.1

Ich habe configurator 3.1 schon neu Installiert. Es kommt die Fehlermeldung, das sich das Bedienfeld nicht nach CS6 exportieren lässt. Admin rechte vorhanden. Wer hat eine Idee woran es liegen könnte?

Schau doch mal ob der Ordner "Panels" bereits exestiert, falls nicht einfach anlegen und Benutzerrechte kontrollieren.
Ansonsten kannst du ja einfach einen anderen Speicherort für dein Panel wählen und es anschließend in den Ordner "Plug-Ins/Panels" verschieben.
Als Ursache würde ich die fehlenden Benutzerrechte für den Ordner vermuten. Schau ob dein Benutzer tatsächlich Schreibrechte für diesen "Panels" hat.
