Indesign plugin for folio

Hello,
I have one tricky question on you. Iam developing plugin for InDesign, this plugin adds some functionality to indd file, this file is uploaded into cloud and folio is created. Folio is loaded to device (eg iPad, which is connected thru wifi to internet) and now i need this: when the button in folio is pressed i need to send http request on my server with ID of iPad. Is it possilbe to achieve this, by any means necessarry? (I have bad feeling that this couldn't be done... )

I´ve download the full install of the Folio Producer yesterday. Installed it (and i replaced the old Drop11 stuff)
And then i login to the "Folio Builder" with my Adobe ID (later i will login with my commercial client account right?).
Where is the part where i produce/export a Folio-file? Or it doesnt work that way anymore?

have read this parts, but it doesnt work the whole way. For example the preview thing i mentioned.
And no if i only place text i still doesnt work.
The folder-hierarchy should be the same as the drop-releases?
The patch-update of the folio producer doesnt work either? (is says the´res a "conflict (in swedish:).
Many questions, but necessary.

Shared Content InDesign Plugin for InDesign CS4 won't open file

Yesterday I discontinued using Adobe CC and went back to using my Adobe InDesign CS4. CS4 is working OK but there is ONE file that won't open. I get the message "Shared Content InDesign Plugin is currently not available on your system". The file will not open. Is there a workaround or how do I get the required plugin?

You get that error when the file was saved in CS5 or later. You can find out the version using the script at Adobe Forums: [Ann] Identify Your InDesign File.
You'll need to export the file to .idml from the newer version to be able to open it in CS4. This is something I normally offer to do, but I'm not available for at least a week, so perhaps one of our other regulars can step up and volunteer.

PDF to InDesign script for FOLIOs

I have a number of back issues in which I wish to convert to digital using DPS. So I found this script that will save me weeks worth of work.

I am working with a 112 page magazine + cover.
When I limit the magazine down to 8 pages, this script works like a charm.
However, whenever I work with anything beyond 8 pages, the page orders go completely out of whack, the script doesn't import some pages and it's a mess.
I tried to reply to post a comment on this page, as others have done, to get in touch with the programmers who help people like me, but the page keeps saying sign in to post a comment - and I am already signed in and it won't let me post anything, no matter what browser I'm using.
I'm hoping someone can help me here.

Working with Derek directly did the trick!
The difficulty with the script is that it requires everything to be in "alphabetical order." What that means is that when you split the files in Acrobat into individual PDFs, everything needs to be in "alphabetical order" and Acrobat does not do that the way this script requires.
So Acrobat gives me 1_ISSUE24.pdf, 2_ISSUE24.pdf and if I had 9 pages, that wouldn't be an issue. But I had over 200 pages for a specific issue and when you get to page 10, you're no longer working in alphabetical order if the single page numbers don't have a 0 in front of them.
So if you have up to 99 pages, make sure every page with a single page number has a 0 in front of it, e.g. 01_ISUEE24.PDF
If you have up to 999 pages, make sure every page with a single page and double page number has two 0's in front it., e.g. 001_ISSUE24.PDF
Unless there's a program out there that will automatically put 0s in front of filenames for you, you have to do this manually, which is slightly time consuming. FAR LESS time consuming, however; than re-sizing everything yourself and doing this the old fashioned way with cut and paste, etc. etc. etc.
So the script is extremely helpful, it's free - you just have to have your page numbers numbered correctly.

In CS6 InDesign (8.0.1) I tried looking for Folio Overlays panel and it doesn't appear...

In CS6 InDesign (8.0.1) I tried looking for Folio Overlays panel and it doesn't appear. So, I tried to go to Updates under Help menu but the Updates button is deactivated.
Any ideas?

What is the best software/plugin for converting Quark files to Indesign?
I don't want to upgrade to the latest Quark now i've got CC so going to make the leap to indesign only. Does Indesign auto convert or do I need anything else?

ID does not load QXD files. There is a respective commercial third-party plug-in to that effect, but it's rather pricey and I'm not up to speed which versions of Quark and ID it supports and which features come over. Inquire in the ID forum.

Will we still be able to write plugins for Creative Cloud for InDesign and Dreamweaver?

Our company writes custom plugins for InDesign and Dreamweaver. Will that still be possible with these Creative Cloud apps? Will updates from CC require a reinstallation of the plugin or will it continue to work?

Those are good questions.
Sadly I know some third party developers already abandoned development when CS6 launched and the new plugin architecture came into play. Given the now standard versioning releases and updates pushed to consumers decided upon by Adobe for the Creative Cloud subscriptions how will third party development and testing of application add-ons work going forward and what does Adobe have in place for this to assist and ensure developers moving forward with new releases. Similar to their own recent Creative Cloud Connection debacle, can developers be assured Adobe wont also break third party plugin compatibilities? Is there a testing and versioning framework system in place for developers for use with each new release of the Creative Cloud? Is a workflow for developers in place?

HSB color plugin for InDesign?

I know it exists because I had it on an older computer; a plugin for using the HSB color space. Right now we only have CMYK, RGB and LAB. HSB is better for controlling the properties of colors individually and I could really use it.
Any clues as to where I can find something like that?

I installed it and yes, it works great! basically you choose "New HEX swatch" from the swatches pallette and a box comes up where you can input the hex number or BETTER YET, click on that curious button that reads "Current Photoshop Foreground Color":
Although still no HSB, this will work for matching colors from Photoshop. Thanks!
(I'll still look for that plugin and report back when I find it.)

Graph plugins for Indesign and Illustrator

Anyone used any decent CC plugins for generating graphs more easily than they are in Illustrator?

I don’t know much about any decent plugins for Illustrator, however I sometimes make graphs using Microftsoft Word then export/copy into Illustrator, then manipulate within illustrator if needed, not used Apples Numbers or other free software as yet to make any comment, but I do get satisfactory results from using Word.
