Indesign Printer Drivers

I'm unsure if this is the correct place for this question, but let me throw it out there and maybey someone will have an answer.
I'm trying (on a wing and a prayer) to get some kind of color management going. I have a color printer and it was (hastfully) installed by
our IT. The driver it is set for is generic which is part of the problem to get color management.
When I try to switch with apples installed drivers(has one that matches). I don't get any of the Output settings
(just gray and composite RGB, the others are grayed out)
How do I get it to be able to choose the Composite CYMK (printer is a laser CYMK).
Will installing the driver from the manufacturer help? is there something else I missed

Thanks. So I will need to download the the driver from the manufacture (PPD Installer), this should give me the postscript option I need.

  • Revert printer drivers

Hello. Does anyone know if there is a way to revert to Leopard printer drivers? My Indesign CS4 is having intermittent issues printing with the new drivers. I have an older machine with Leopard on it and it can print the same document to the same printer fine, but the SL one will refuse to print it.
    Thanks

An HP Color Laserjet 4700dn. The main problem is that when a page in Indesign CS4 contains certain graphics (binary EPS files for example), the printer refuses to print the page. If I set the graphics to print out at a lower resolution though, it will work. However, I also have a Color Laserjet 3600n and the pages print fine to that printer.

  • Indesign printing problem

when trying to print either an indesign document or PDF we are getting errors either 'printing error: the adobe print engine has failed to output your data due to an unknown problem' or for a PDF - 'cannot print, there are no pages selected' we are using printer drivers RPCS Printer DriverVersion7.60 for Ricoh Alicio C2000 digital printer
and are trying to print an A3 double sided full colour booklet. This was working fine (for two years), but since upgrading to CS4 have had problems printing IND docs but if saved as PDF was okay - Ricoh had had other problems with CS4 doing this. Now neither will print - not sure if since an update has been downloaded?
further to this after hours of searching knowledge base and trying many things:
I have fixed any font problems - not that I think they were problems. I can sometimes print it once from the PDF but then if I reprint multiples it doesnt work. Change drivers and same thing, one print only. Now not even that will work again now. have tried shortening the file name, that allowed me to get my single copies for awhile but now nothing.  I have downloaded the new CS4 updates today - no fix. My printer company said they'd had other customers with a similar problem and it was an Acrobat Reader problem- have downloaded the latest update, no fix.
I took the file to my printer company and they could print it okay - which to me said it was a driver problem but they say no its an Adobe problem because I can print other documents.
this is not happening with all docs - just this one file (any version or change of it) - this is a file (catalouge) that has been used and updated for the last two years and now since CS4 is starting to cause problems. We have contacted support - they directed me to a knowledge base article which I had already worked through. We will try again and document what happens at each stage but if anyone has any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.. please note that we are not professionals and do not understand much of the backend stuff and techno speak.
    arrggh please help
    MissM

further to my last question, it seems it is not just this one document. A Black and white document (PDF) (which had been printing okay right before) is now doing the same thing when trying to print as a booklet - cannot print, no pages selected. BUT if i do just duplex but not booklet both work?
is this sounding more like a driver problem?
    MissM

  • Seem to have lost my adobe print drivers

I recently had my mac os x 10.6.8 operating system reinstalled, now I seem to have lost my adobe print drivers - so can't select pages from indesign doc to transform to pdf file? Any suggestion please?

The AdobePDF printer would have been installed as part of the installationof Acrobat Pro. Did you reinstall that application after reinstalling the OS, and did youreinstall the same version of the OS? The PDF printer is not available in 10.7 and later.

  • Setting up printer drivers.

On a normal day I am a Windows XP guy but seem to have acquired a 'lazarus reputation' with computers which then got me a job at a print shop with all Macs.
I would like to have someone walk me through the install of print drivers onto new 'imac' to talk to two network printers . Or at least point me to the right place for info.
I have downloaded the printer postscript(PPD) drivers for each machine.
xitron Herkules PRO by AGFA and Konica Minolta Bizhub Pro C500. Each of these machines has a Windows computer attached to it. I then need the Macs to fire the information to those XP machines.
The imac sees the IP addy for each printer's computer and I can get everything installed so it appears that the drivers are installed. I get a worker to send a file to each machine and the driver dialog box reveals a message that the printers are busy (even though they are not busy).
    Where did I go wrong???
And by the way I am using Indesign C3 files to try and print.

Well, you can experiment with the available Lexmark drivers or contact Lexmark tech support to ask if they can suggest an available OS X driver that may work with the printer. But as far as a dedicated OS X driver for the printer I'd say you are out of luck.

  • Acrobat contains printer drivers?

    Hi all,
I am at work often the "fast IT-support" if somebody has a problem with any program but especially the Adobe suite although I am "just" a Graphic Designer.
That goes especially for the CS5 suite at the moment which we purchased and had installed by our IT-guy.
I specifically requested that my own pc was completely formatted before the CS5 install since I took that one over from another person who had lots of stuff on the machine that I didn't need and that had the potential to cause program errors etc. which I thereby could practically rule out.
However, our IT-guy apparently was - let's say - "in a hurry" and installed CS5 on three other pc's aside from my own in my company WITHOUT first removing the original and ancient CS1 suite that we had used until then (talking about the potential for program errors).
As implied in my last paragraphs it didn't take too long until our marketing director asked me if I could come by and help her out with a print-problem in Adobe InDesign. Among others we use the Develop Ineo+ 452 for some of our basic prints.
    http://www.develop.de/en/products/office_products/101__produkte-detail.htm
This copy-machine has a non post-script driver that can enhance prints in a - to me - very basic manner as many printer drivers do and which can be downloaded from the company's website (we print via the company intranet/network which is cabled).
After having solved the print problem I realized that the printer driver of our marketing director had some features grayed out which on my pc and another colleague's pc were able to be selected and worked properly. I told my boss and she said if I could update the driver. However since we are networked quite heavily and seem to have a special network administration in regards to drivers the IT-guy who I contacted said that he wanted to do the update himself which we agreed upon.
The next day I asked my boss, she said that our IT-guy had not installed the printer but updated the ancient Adobe Reader/Acrobat (which he apparently neither had installed for her since "being in a hurry") with the newest Adobe Reader/Acrobat from the newly acquired CS5 package.
When I asked her why he had done so and not updated the printer driver for the Ineo+ 452 copy machine she stated that our IT-guy claimed that the update of those programs would also contain all the newest printer drivers.
I am somewhat baffled as to how this should be possible or if it's true since I NEVER heard anybody EVER talking about new or old drivers included in Adobe Reader or Acrobat.
Can anybody shed light on this or support/miscredit this information?
    All answers are appreciated...!

    Hi Peter,
    and thanks for your response.
Yep, that IT-guy might need some additional IT-courses...
Okay, so the mystery is solved then. Nothing in those programs that just vaguely resembles printer drivers that have to be - as commonly - installed in the OS.
Thanks for the input and time you took to answer me.
However I am surprised hearing about  that it shouldn't matter having old versions of any program for that matter on the same harddisk together with a newly installed and updated version. That doesn't go only for CS5 or some of it's programs. I have had multiple examples where I have been warned or read about not having i.e. antivirus or other common and non-system critical programs installed without removing the older version first.
So this sounds a bit odd to me...
In regards to saving the old files or being able to access them..., we are - as from the day of purchase - officially using the CS5 package so everybody is up to the newest level and the problems with the old versions not being compatible with newer versions has not really occured to us. Sometimes there are minor font-issues or the like but so far there hasn't been the greatest of problems just opening old CS1 files directly in CS5 so this isn't really of big concern to us.
However I do know about the possibility of exporting to .inx or to the newest .idml format which is always good to know since if there are troubles on the horizon this can come in quite handy. So thanks for the tip anyhow.
Wishing you a nice day and lots of InDesign solutions to be found...!

  • How to uninstall print drivers Canon MF4150 issues

Hello all, I am having a nightmare of a time getting my Canon MF4150 to print. It looks from all of the threads on here it was a less than ideal choice for a Mac owner.
When I first bought the unit I managed to get it to print, everything seemed peachy.
Problems arose when I wanted to use the unit to scan. I downloaded a variety of third party software and drivers in an attempt to get the scan function working. I had mixed results, and this process seemed to upset the printing side of things. Once I scanned a document, the printer would then not work.
I abandoned the idea of scanning through the MF4150 and have gone back to dedicated Epson scanner.
Since then I have not had any luck getting the printer to print again.
I have gone through all the MF4150 related threads on these boards I can find, and followed the process to installed outlined here - https://discussions.apple.com/message/7657893#7657893 but to no avail.
I really just want this thing to print and it's driving me nuts.
I have the printer attached directly to my MacBook Pro running 10.5.2. I'm not trying to print through the Airport.
I would like to know how to completely uninstall any UFR II drivers and related software / information and start this process from the beginning again.
So far, using the answer provided by PAHU here https://discussions.apple.com/message/7657893#7657893
    I have -
    1. Open System Preferences > Print & Fax
    > DONE
    2. Select the MF4150 printer and press the minus " - " button to remove the printer. Do the same to any other printers that are in the printer list.
    > DONE
    3. Hold down the Control key and click in the empty printer list. A window showing 'Reset printing system' will display. Click this.
    > DONE
    4. Close the Print & Fax utility.
    > DONE
    5. Run the Canon UFR2 v1.70 installer and select Uninstall when the Easy Install menu appears
    > This is where I get snagged. I'm not offered a Uninstall option. I have attached a screen grab of the window I am presented with. I am currently trying the "o1141enx_m_ufr224" version of the UFR driver. I have continued to complete the points below regardless of the fact i cannot uninstall.
    6. Restart the Mac and run the v1.70 installer again to add the UFR2 files back onto your Mac
    7. Go to Applications > Utilities and open Disk Utility. Select the Mac OS X partition in the left pane and select 'Repair Disk Permissions'. When this has completed, quit Disk Utility
    8. Open Print & Fax and add the MF4270 again
    9. Open TextEdit, type some simple text and select to print.
    10. Report back if the above doesn't get you printing.
I have also attach a screen grab of the process I go through when adding the printer.
Any help with this would be amazing. I've tried everything I can think of.
My latest idea is to try and remove any trace of previous printer drivers and go from there. You can see in my list of available drivers in the file attached I now have all sorts of UFR drivers in the list.
Again, if anyone can throw me a line on this that would be great.
    Thanks & Regards
    Coz

    Hello Coz,
It's been a while since you've posted, I hope you have not given up.  I was having grief with my MF4150 as well, but got it working.  There is a more current driver - search for Mac_UFRII_V230_uk_EN and install it.
Then, when you go to add your printer through System Preferences > Print & Fax, make sure you click the "default" icon in the top of the dialog.  It should show your Canon MF 4100 series , then use the bottom drop down menu to choose your driver and select Canno MF410 Series UFRII LT (UK) from the list.

  • Windows 7 x64 can't read/install any printer drivers from Windows Server 2003 x64 (AMD64 folder and HP Deskjet 855c)

I read the thread Widows 7 printer
HP deskjet 855c driver about possible installation of HP855c drivers onto Windows 7 x64 from "Windows Server 2003 x64" CD but I didn't have enough luck to succeed with doing it on my laptop. That thread appears to be dead now
as it is marked "Answered", so I'm asking for help here. I have Toshiba Satellite P500 with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (http://i55.tinypic.com/2zgth6v.jpg).
Let me tell you first that I don't have access to Windows Server 2003 x64 or XP Pro 64 CD's. However I did some research online, which eventually forced me to learn about the "file sharing". After extensive search I was able to get the copies
of AMD64 folders from Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard x64 with SP2 and
XP Pro 64. The reason that I went also after XP Pro was because I thought that the extra wording "R2 Standard x64 with SP2" in description of "Windows Server 2003" did not reflect the exact name provided by poster
Alan. I couldn't find just "Windows Server 2003 x64" (does it matter?).
Anyway, I followed first the drill with running "printui /s /t2" and disabling UAC, and then in both cases I was able to locate the
NTPRINT.INF file (http://oi51.tinypic.com/9qwvt2.jpg - this image is from XP Pro AMD64 folder) but each time when I
attempted to install the driver, I got the same message stating:
"The folder you specified doesn't contain a compatible software drive for your device. If the folder contains the driver, make sure it's designed to work with Windows for x64-based systems." (http://oi53.tinypic.com/27yveiw.jpg)
    Why aren't there x64 drivers?
During several installation attempts I had the printer connected to or disconnected from my laptop. It didn't make any difference. I must add that for this purpose I had to use different cable than the original one designated only for the
Parallel port in my old desktop with Windows XP. My new laptop with Windows 7 x64 came only with 3 USB ports (plus 1 HDMI and 1 Serial). Because of that situation I bought in advance a new printer cable called “USB to 36-pin Parallel Port Adapter
Cable” (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003A8I75E). I'm not sure, if it will work until I can install the printer.
Besides, nobody talked about this issue yet. I was also playing with the port choices in "Add printer" step; changing from default LPT1 to USB001 with the same negative results.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I was very hopeful after reading positive "case closed" notes there.
Can anyone help me here, maybe by making the necessary files available for download? I'm willing to pay for such assistance or make a donation, if necessary. Seriously. Judging by the large number of views of the original
thread, one could assume that there is a potential demand for such service. It would be more human to pay few bucks for a few driver files than $900 for the whole Windows Server 2003 x64 CD, no? Can Microsoft accomodate me/us, please? :)
    Andrew*
P.S. I was advised to come for help here from
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-hardware/windows-7-x64-cant-readinstall-any-printer-drivers/4e7d06e1-33a5-4597-be70-4fdc087a63a7?msgId=9a045994-0d31-4d40-b17d-dba372393ee4

I have my HP 855c/driver working on Win 7 Ultimate x64. I used the 'printui /s' procedure and 4 files described above with some minor changes.
I pulled WindowsServer2003.WindowsXP-KB914961-SP2-x64-ENU.exe down from the Microsoft website. Running the file causes the exe to unpack into a temp folder at the root drive. A 'Setup Error' message box is displayed once the file is run. I left this
message box up until I copied ntprint.inf, ntprint.cat, and sp2.cab from the temp folder.
I copied driver.cab from a Windows XP Pro disc. I also needed amd64\stdnames.gpd which was already in my Windows 7 c:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3 folder.
I created a folder with the 5 files (ntprint.inf, ntprint.cat, sp2.cab, driver.cab, and amd64\stdnames.gpd). This is my 'Have Disc' folder.
I followed the 'printui /s' instructions, first changing the permissions mentioned above and then installing the driver. Next I followed the instructions to add a printer from Control Panel 'Devices and Printers' - 'Add Printer', choosing to 'use an existing
driver' when installing the HP 855c.
I used a slightly different ntprint.inf, size 1570418. The readable contents of ntprint.inf is as follows. Notice the line 'CatalogFile=ntprint.cat' is not included. I tried using the 1570468 version of ntprint.inf; when I did I received an incompatibility
message (probably the same one mentioned above).

  • SOLUTION: Get Win 7 Printer Drivers/HP Solution Center to Work on Windows 8

Took me some time to figure it out, but I got it to work.
    First of all, the preliminaries:
I have an HP dv9700t laptop running the 64-bit version of Windows 8 Pro RTM (not the preview, but I assume it will work on Preview as well).  My printer is an HP Photosmart C7280.  If you have a different printer, it is possible that something similar to how I solved my problem will help you, especially by running your installation files in Windows 7 Compatibility Mode.
Windows 8 does come with stock C7280 printer drivers that work by going into Control Panel>Devices and Printers>Add A Printer, but there's only limited functionality with those.  As such, I wanted to run the HP installation files to have increased functionality.
Unfortunately, when I ran the full installation file from HP for my printer, there was no "Install a Printer" button, or any of the other usual buttons.  There was only an "Exit" button.
Here's how to get it to run and install properly.
Right-click on the HP Full Installation file, then Properties>Compatibility>then check the box for "Run this program in compatibility mode for:", then select "Windows 7" in the dropdown box, then Click "OK".
Run the installation file as you normally would in Windows 7.
I tried this two ways.....the first while connected via USB cable.  It worked just fine with no errors.
I also tried it with the printer connected to my network via WiFi.  Ran into some problems.
The installation program would detect my printer just fine, and I clicked "Next" or "OK" or whatever the prompt was to install the printer.  The installation would hang on "Reply from SNMP" (or something similar) and it would list the IP address of my printer.  I waited, waited, waited for an hour, and it wouldn't get past this.  Not to worry.
Proceed with normal installation until you get to the "Reply from SNMP" message and the installation stops responding.
Enter the Task Manager with CTRL-ALT-DEL.  You'll see an entry in the "Apps" for the HP installation program....LEAVE THIS ALONE.
Below the "Apps" list you will see the "Background Processes" list.  In this list is something along the lines of "HP Network UI", or something similar, consuming a significant amount of CPU.  Highlight this entry, then click, "End Task" at the bottom.
The "SNMP" window will close and your installation program will then finish normally and your printer/fax/scanner will be properly installed.  HP Solution Center works normally, as does printing, scanning, etc.
Will the next person who uses this give some feedback and also answer some questions for me so I can update this post with more specific information?
Please let me know what the exact "SNMP" message is when the installation hangs.  Please also let me know the exact name of the "HP Network UI" background process is, as well as the HP Installation app name.
    Hopefully this will help you.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

thanks for the solution. I have an HP Photosmart D110a wireless printer. Windows 8 installed a generic printer driver that worked fine for printing but I lost all functionality to the scanner of the device.
I tried to follow your instructions. I do get an error at some point when the software installer tries to talk to the printer and it gives an error message. It finds the printer OK but stalls. The error message is different and merely reports that there is a problem, no further details. There is indeed a background task "HP Network UI" or similar but ending this task doesn't do anything on my system. The Network UI task ends and the error message stays open. I ended a couple more background tasks but it would not go anywhere.
I then uninstalled the entire package, unplugged the printer, turned its wireless feature off and reinstalled the software in Windows 7 compatibility mode. When it asked to plug in the printer to the USB it finds it right away, the installation continues and is almost finished when it stalls again. This time it reports that it has a problem again and needs to uninstall. Still with the error message and installer open I open the installed "Solution Center" and I can find the printer fine (it actually lists two devices, one being grayed out). It initially gave me an error message when I tried to scan something, but ignored the error. Eventually the scanner worked as intended. I force ended all installer tasks in the task manager and the Solution Center works fine and does all tasks it did under Windows 7, now in Windows 8.
    thanks again for the post

  • HP Remote Print Drivers

    Hello,
Just to give you some background, I have a HP PhotoSmart 6180 multifunction inkjet machine.  The printer has been wirelessly attached to my home network for about two years now (Linksys WRT54G).  All print functions work (printing to photo tray, using the document feeder, accessing the scanner, printing via bluetooth dongle, etc) when I am home on the network.  I even have on my Windows Mobile phone an application called HP iPhoto which allows me to wirelessly print to the photo tray.  You see, there are no problems on this end.
Here is my problem: Using my Windows-based PC, I have the ability to print to it remotely via the internet.  I use the HP Remote Printing, v 2.323.0.0 driver and Instant Share through HP's site. I can also print remotely using any program that has a print function, i.e... Internet Explorer, MS Word, Adobe PDF, HP Solution Center, etc.). However, I cannot choose the photo paper tray.  I am only able to change the size of the print job, for instance: 4x6, 8 1/2X11, Hagaki.  In the HP Remote Printing Preferences, only two tabs are available: Paper/Quality and Basic.  In the Remote Printing Properties, the Device Settings tab (which is one of the tabs available when I look at the properties of the actual printer) is not available.  This is where I would add the available trays.  I believe it has to do with the driver version.
It would help me tremendously if I can have the ability to choose the photo paper tray when printing remotely.  Most of the items that I send to my printer are photos. I've tried and tried to get help from HP, but to no avail (my printer is out of warranty, not applicable for free support, etc.).  Please help. It would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanking you in advance.

    Hi again.
You're quite correct, it is CUPS (Common UNIX Printer System).
Is http://www.linuxprinting.org/database.html what you were looking for?
There are many '1100' HP printers listed.
OSX also installs Gimp print drivers, I'm a total ignoramus as to how you set them up though, sorry.

  • Where are printer drivers stored in OS 10.8?

I am trying to set up a Epson Stylus Photo R3000 as a new printer on OS 10.8. The printer setup locates the printer and automatically selects Epson Stylus R3000 with the notation "The selected printer software is available from Apple. Click Add to download and add this printer." However, clicking on Add leads eventually to an error message: "Can't install the software for the EPSON Epson Stylus Photo R3000 because it is not currently available fromthe Software Update server." This result blocks me from setting up the printer.
I know the driver is part of the Epson driver software package that is installed with OS 10.8. I would like to select it manually. My question is where are printer drivers stored? How do I select a driver?
    Thanks in advance!

While a bit of a stretch, you can download the entire Epson printer package from Apple and install it. This will include all drivers for all Epson devices as opposed to the one just for your system. The package is 1GB in size, but will include everything supported.
The package can be downloaded here: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1398
This following knowledgebase article says your printer is definitely supported, so the driver should be in that package: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669#epson

  • How can I uninstall Xerox print drivers and then reinstall them again

Somehow I installed the wrong print drivers for our xerox printers running on the latest version of leopard and installing the correct driver doesn't seem to solve the problem. I want to remove all xerox driver files and reinstall the correct version of the driver.

    Uninstalling Software: The Basics
Most OS X applications are completely self-contained "packages" that can be uninstalled by simply dragging the application to the Trash. Most applications create preference files which are stored in the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder. Although they do nothing once you delete the associated application, they do take up some disk space. If you want you can located them in the above location and delete them, too.
Some applications may install an uninstaller program that can be used to remove the application. In some cases the uninstaller may be part of the application's installer, and is invoked by clicking on a Customize button that will appear during the install process.
Some applications may install components in the /Home/Library/Applications Support/ folder. You can also check there to see if the application has created a folder. You can also delete the folder that's in the Applications Support folder. Again, they don't do anything but take up disk space once the application is trashed.
Some applications may install a startupitem or a Log In item. Startupitems are usually installed in the /Library/StartupItems/ folder and less often in the /Home/Library/StartupItems/ folder. Log In Items are set in the Accounts preferences. Open System Preferences, click on the Accounts icon, then click on the LogIn Items tab. Locate the item in the list for the application you want to remove and click on the "-" button to delete it from the list.
If an application installs any other files the best way to track them down is to do a Finder search using the application name or the developer name as the search term.
There are also several shareware utilities that can uninstall applications:
    AppZapper
    CleanApp
    Yank
    SuperPop
    Uninstaller
    Spring Cleaning
Look for them at VersionTracker or MacUpdate.
For more information visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQ on removing software.

  • How do I uninstall print drivers that do not work?

I've downloaded the HP drivers for 10.6 from here

However, I am still unable to get my HP PSC 1400 to print via the Time Capsule. Since the driver package ended up being +500 MB, is there any way that I can uninstall these drivers to regain that space?

So the printer drivers for the PSC1400 series unfortunately did not make it onto the DVD. They will be available through a software update at some point in the future. You should able to install the 10.5 solution to get basic functionality working again. As for deleting the files, yes there is a way, but it still leaves some of the files laying around so software update won't work.
If you want the space though, most of the files are in /Library/Printers/hp. That being said the software update to provide printing support will probably put most of them back.
    Just trying to help.

  • How to uninstall printer drivers

I have a 64Gb MacBook Air and installed the printer drivers for an HP printer.  Within a few hours of using the printer, three major faults occurred, so I returned the printer and got my money back.  I'm going to buy a Canon printer now but first I want to remove the HP printer drivers and all references to it.
    I'm using OS 10.7.5.
None of the information I've picked up through the communities works for me becasue they refer to menu options that don't exist on this machine.
    Any help gratefully received.
    Thanks.

Thanks very much mende1.  I followed your very clear instructions and it worked - all the HP references are now consigned to the dustbin.  Just a shame HP don't consign their model HP2050 to the dustbin!

I use an Epson Stylus Office BX320FW printer with my IMac.  Since upgrading OSX, I have lost the ability to print and scan.  I have downloaded printer drivers from both Epson and Apple.  I am using the printer in wifi mode but can not get it print or scan.  How do I uninstall the Epson software and start all over again?

Not using any mouse pad, I have a very smooth desktop. But I just tried to use a sheet of A4 printing paper, but no result, the problem persisted.
Someone on this forum suggested, that USB3 may interfere with the magic mouse.
I have 2 LaCie HDD's about 70 cm away from the mouse, I use them on Thunderbolt. But in operation or not - the result is the same, the mouse plays up! Just now I was clicking the desktop and the mouse created a new folder!!
    Thanks for the advice, Bee
    Cheers, Gerd
