Indesign search for untagged content

Is there a search technique for highlighting untagged content in an InDesign document?

Can you explain what you want to do?

  • How do you search for file content in Mountain Lion?

    I recently upgrade my MacBook Pro to Mountain Lion. I used to use spotlight to search for specific content within files before the upgrade. Now spotlight is only giving me file names and won't allow me to search for content within the files, even if I used quotations in my search. Is this just a glich on my computer or is there something I need to reset? Thanks!

    Try rebuilding the Spotlight index.  Go into the Spotlight privacy pane, and then add your hard drive to the "privacy" section.  This will erase its index.  Then remove your hard drive from the index and Spotlight will rebuild  the index.  It will take an hour or two.

  • Problems with the Search for room content

    Hi,
    I face a problem configuring the search for room content using KM search iView (com.sap.km.Search).
    I found the chapter Configuring the Search for Room Content in the help. So I set up the following things :
    1- I assign the room_id iView parameter to the roomid room parameter (in the template)
    2- I added room_cm_search component to the component set (I added it at the bottom of the "component for basic search function")
    3- I select the entry "Folder" as the default search scope in the search option set. I specify a root folder for search as well.
    But it doesn't work properly. It always returns "no result found". And if I add the room_cm_search component at the top of the "component for basic search function", It runs the search on all the documents of the default search scope, and not only on the room documents.
    Can you please tell me the right way to configure the search for room content using the com.sap.km.Search iView ?
    I work on EP 7.0 SP 10.
    Thanks a lot,
    Loïc LEVEUGLE

    Hi Loic,
    the Room Content Search iView is a special Search iView that is filtering for documents that were created in the Room Context (all documents get a specific metadata that is keeping the roomiD) . The easiest thing is to use the standard iView used for the delivered templates from SAP.
    I would advise to use the iView that is already preconfigured for a room template or part template and can be found and referenced in your template from the following path: Portal Content ->com.sap.ip.collaboration--> TemplateAndPartContent --> Generic -->iViews and take the iView "Search Room"
    If you reference that iView in your room template or room part template, you have to think about the correct configuration in the template configuration iView. Just take as example the configuration of the part template "SAP Search Room".
    Or even better: Copy a template (room or part) from SAP that is containing the Room Search and delete everything what you don´t need out of the template. You safe time and you can add all additional content you´ll need to your template. Some ideas can be found in the following "How to Guide":
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/f0496f69-cb70-2910-21a6-c4cf2cc66311
    What you have written under 3 -> would never work as the root folder for search doesn´t make any sense as the documents of a room are stored in different folders and you can´t define a root folder. Therefor you have the specific room_id parameter that is filtering what documents belong to the room.
    Good luck,
    Anja

  • Search for untagged photos.

    Is it possible to search for images with faces I haven't yet tagged, and images that I haven't added places-information for?

    Not directly. However you can go to the Faces mode, select all faces and hit the Smart Album button. In the resulting smart album assign a keyword to all photos like "faces". Then create a smart album whose criteria is Keyword is not "faces". Then as you assign new faces to the photos you'll need to go back to the smart album for faces, select all and reassign the "faces" keyword. I know what you're thinking but until Apple provides a new feature that's what we're saddled with.
    Be sure to request that new feature via http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphoto.html

  • Ifilter does not update Outlook to search for attachment content

    We are using Windows 7 and Outlook 2014, 64 bit
    I installed the iFilter application (9 for 64-bit platforms).
    I can now search attachment content (PDF) using Windows explorer.
    But, i cannot search attachment content in Outlook.
    I did follow instructions on Adobe website in installation and setting up the envirnoment variable.  NOt sure why it works in Windows explorer but not Outlook.
    Does it needs to be installed on the Exchange server as well?

    I would recommend starting over and migrate using your Time Capsule backup however DO NOT do it wirelessly, connect using an Ethernet Connection. If you upgraded to Lion from Snow Leopard then follow the instructions in this video, the kid is annoying but he knows what he's doing. Clean Install Of Snow Leopard video. Once you have installed and updated Snow Leopard then update using the 10.6.8 Update Combo, then log into the Mac App Store and re-install Lion and all it's updates. My guess this is an afternoons work.

  • Form development & searching for the contents

    Dear all,
    In portal, I need a simple form to capture some information.
    Eg Vehicle Number, driver name etc.
    I also want to search on this form content.
    What will be a good option instead of custom developments.
    XML forms can be used but can't be searched.
    Document template, Guided procedure are some other options.
    Regards,

    Hi Subir,
       If you need to capture some information (enter by a user, it is not read from a database for example) you can use form builder. It's very simple to do it. The result are xml files. Then you can create an index (index administration) to point to this repository. Don't forget to add this repository to xml filter, this is when you double click in xml file must be open using a xslt not open as a simple text file.
      Guided procedure is thought for workflow process. You can create a input form (but using Adobe form, you must have licence for use it). Also, you can create a webdynpro application using SAP Developer Studio.
      I think that the best option, obviously depend on your requirement is used form builder.
    Patricio.

  • How can I search for document content, specific words, in my scanned (and searchable) pdf files?

    When using spotloght to search my files for text within a scanned document, I may or may not find documents that were scanned by a scan program (ScanSnap) to a searchable PDF file on a firewire attached drive.
    Is there a specific manner that yeilds useable results 100% of the time?

    Spotlight should index PDF files (as well as Word and some other kinds of files) but it seems that PDFs are not created equal. I've seen and heard complaints that some scanner/OCR programs are saving files that aren't searchable and yours is one of them. Try opening one of the files in Preview and resaving it.

  • How to search for free content in the itunes store

    I like to listen to audiobooks but find some of the itunes audiobooks to be a little pricey! there are some good bargains but it is hard to find them. Is there a way that I can search the audiobook section of the itunes store for items by PRICE rather than author or name of book? thanks in advance~

    The way I do it is when I look up a track, I click the artist name,
    And it goes to listings by that artist.
    As far as a text search by artist, I haven't had much success with that since iTunes 9, even using the search in the top bar (which changes from "Search Library" to "Search Store" once you open the store. Store searches still don't find what I'm looking for most of the time.

  • How to configure SharePoint 2010 / 2013 Search for SQL Database Contents and Oracle Database Contents?

    Hi All,
    We are planning to maintain the contents in SQL / Oracle. Could you please suggest anyone which is best for SharePoint 2010 / 2013 Search. How to configure the search for external content source?
    Thanks & Regards,

    And here is more on it

    And here how you can connect Oracle to SharePoint for BCS functionality

    Overall it seems SQL doenn't require any special arrangement to connect BCS to SharePoint.

  • TRex search for iView

    Hello, I was wondering how to do make the TRex search for the content in iViews and link to those iViews into the portal when the TRex send the results for search. Right now the TRex searches in the repositories specified in the datasource and the results link to the content of documents. Any ideas?
    Thanks.

    Hi Pablo,
    > I'm starting to think I will have to pass
    > some fee for all your help
    Don't hesitate, I can pass you my bank account details...
    > I've seen this forum ...
    Oh, don't mix up the PCD repository which can be searched for iViews ==> that is iView names, maybe description etc, but this does <i>not</i> mean the content itself.
    As far as I understand your original question, you would like to search "real content" ("what's printed within the iView") in that kind that clicking on a search result link would lead you to the corresponding navigation target.
    For this, the scenario given in my orignal answer in <i>this</i> thread should be the way to go. Even if this works only in "internet" scenarios properly, for this scenario cannot distinguish between different roles / access rights.
    > is SPS 14 the same that SP14?
    Yes. "SP" = "Support Package", SPS = "Support Package Stack", the "new" common number for all components playing together.
    Hope it helps

  • Having trouble searching for music on Ovi Player

    Hi,
    Is anyone else having this issue? Since the Ovi Player was 'Upgraded' yesterday, whenever I search an artist's name in the search field at the top of the home page, the player thinks for a few seconds, then returns to the same home page. The only artists catalogue I can view are the ones already on the home page, or under the various playlists. I also found that the Sign In button didn't work and I had to sign in via the Music Account at the bottom of the screen.
    Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks for your help. I don't see "Server Share" anywhere on Easy Find. Am I missing something? What's frustrating is, I was able to find something out of an excel file made yesterday. The search paramater was something that was one character short of the entire content of a cell. When I search for something that would be contained in another, longer (sentence-sized) cell, it does not find it. I have:
    Search For: File Contents
    Operator: Any word
    Comparison: Ignore Case
    Include: Netiher are checked
    "Scan all files" checked in the settings thing.
    I just tried Find Any File, and I don't see any option that allows me to search within a file? Looks like I can only search names of files along with date created, etc.

  • Search for Emails and place them on a array

    I have the following asp/vbscript code that search for the
    content of a folder with text files. I need someone to help me out
    to modify the code to automatically search for email addresses on
    each text file and place them on an array.

    Passwords are stored in the password files (encrypted).
    Bookmarks are stored in the bookmarks file.
    These can't get your data back, but will help in the future.

    FEBE allows you to quickly and easily backup your

  • How do I create a Table of Contents in InDesign CS6 for print that easily converts to epub?

    How do I create a Table of Contents in InDesign CS6 for a print book that easily converts to epub?
    Can anyone point me to a link for a step-by-step (not a video) on setting up all the elements of a print book properly (pages, table of contents and index) so they will convert and reflow perfectly from print to epub in InDesign CS6. This is not about building an ebook from ground up, but taking 50 backlisted print books (converted from old versions of Quark to InDesign) that now need to be converted to epub formats.
    OR could someone point me to the link in the Adobe InDesign CS6 support that explains how to create a Table of Contents for a print book (5.5" x 8.5", 288 pages), one that will convert when the file is converted to ePub (for MAC OSX)?
    Just downloaded the 706 page inDesign CS6 reference manual from Adobe <http://helpx.adobe.com/pdf/indesign_reference.pdf>  but there's not even a search feature on the pdf file.
    Up until this week, we have only done print books, creating the TOC the old fashioned way, as a fixed page, comprised of two columns: page numbers and chapters/subject. The files I have created are taken by our printer and printed beautifully.
    However, when I convert the same book to epub in CS6, the character and paragraph styles converted beautifully - but everything else is all over the place! The table of contents is on different pages, the columns split apart. That goes for the page contents as well - everything is all over the place. when it's converted to a pdf -- total perfection. Never any problems converting with perfection to pdf format and reading those on the various readers.
    (Thank you so much in advance for any help).

    <http://helpx.adobe.com/pdf/indesign_reference.pdf> Adobe Digital Reader does have a search feature for reading pdfs. Found the TOC instructions on page 176 of 706 pages.

  • Search for, edit, and delete XML tag (Adobe InDesign Server CS5)

    Hi all,
    I'm working with Indesign Server CS5 and JavaScript, though having some trouble coming up with a solution to a problem...
    I need to build a JS script (called through SOAP) that will enable me to search an InDesign file for a given XML tag.
    Upon finding the XML tag, if the 'action' variable is set to delete, it should delete the tag and its contents.
    If the action is set to edit, it should change the contents of the tag to some user-specified content.
    The primary caveat is that the XML tag is variable, as is the XML structure of the InDesign file.
    Here's what I have in mind, in pseudocode:
    function findXMLTag(tag, action) {
         app.searchForTag(tag);
         if (tagIsFound) {
              if (action == "delete") {
                   tag.delete;
              } else if (action == "edit") {
                   tag.contents = "Updated content";
    Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Ben Kay

    'searchForTag' can be implemented as a recursive function.
    Recursion is defined like this: I thought, "I'll just search this forum for 'recursion'." The first post I found was one of my own, suggesting that the poster should search the forum for 'recursion'.
    Here is an example: find the XML Element [<email>]
    And another: Remove xml element using JS[CS3] (read carefully, as the OP got stuck on how to successfully remove an element and continue)
    And one, using XML Rules -- which I'm totally unfamiliar with, but may work for you: Changing Values in XML tags
