InDesign SERIOUS HELP NEEDED!!!! Can't open ANYTHING!!!

I was working away on my mac yesterday on 2 clients InDesign files when all of a sudden a fatal error came up and I have not been able to get back in!!! I'm REALLY FREAKED OUT right now!!! Have I lost 2 years worth of work due to an Adobe problem?
I noticed when it crashed that a new updated 2014 software was sitting in my cloud. I installed that and tried to open files and nothing! The beach ball just spun and spun! I deleted old software and still nothing! I deleted all software and preferences and SING file and still cannot open ANY old files!!! Called Adobe and the tech guy says my files look corrupted?????? WTF??? I didn't do anything!!!! I have 2 years worth of client files now that I cannot open? I created PDF of last version and wonder about importing that to atlas begin to create the 2 projects I was working on and have yet to try that. It seems that not one of the old files is opening and I'm nearly in tears!!!

Calm down and let's try to figure out what happened.
First and foremost, do you still see your client files in Finder? If they are there, most likely they will open if we figure out what's wrong with ID. You may have lost wahtever was open during the crash, but odds are good that even those files will be recoverable to the last saved state if you weren't actually writing them to disk when the crash occurred.
Now, what version of ID were you using when this happened, and which version of OS X? What were you doing at the time?
Does ID launch if you just start the application. If not, do you see an error message or anything else that might help us?

Prep your new drive:
Drive Preparation
1. Boot from your OS X Installer Disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area. If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing. SMART info will not be reported on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID (for Intel Macs) or APM (for PPC Macs,) then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
4. Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
5. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Security button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
6. Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to several hours depending upon the drive size.
After formatting has completed quit DU and return to the installer. Install OS X.

Help - my programs have all turned into product trials and I can't open anything?!

I hope that someone will have a simple solution to my problem. I need you to speak to me like a 10 yr old about this computer!! More details, please. Did you simply install Lion over the top of the Snow Leopard installation that was already on your Mac, or did you do something else?
How are you trying to open those things? What happens when you try?
Can you select anything on the Desktop? If you do that and invoke the menu option File > Get Info, what's the first thing you see under "Name" in the "Sharing & Permissions" section of the resulting window?

SERIOUS HELP NEEDED!!!

Hi, My 5th gen ipod has somehow lost all of its songs. After pluggin it into the computer and taking it out all is gone. This is the second time that it has happened. Now when I tyr to reset it the latest updater says that the ipod is in use, but nothing is open. I need serious help I can nto do anythign with my Ipod now when I try and press it it says the website of apple.com/support/ipod. Thanks so much!

Whenever I select Word Microsoft Setup Assistant appears, asks for feedback, then after selecting okay (both on saying yes or no to feedback) goes on to a registration page. When I click on this it says I've already registered so I just click okay, and then move on to a update page. After this, if I click on Word, the process repeats itself.
As I said, I don't have the disk to reinstall, and can't find the Office Settings to delete as many pages have suggested I should try. Safe Boot restarting also hasn't worked... Really stuck and need Word very soon for work.
If you can help, that would be great, and feel free to ask any questions about the situation as I'm not an expert here.

First, export your contact from iCloud.com and save them on your computer in a safe spot some where (like you desktop). Use this to help you do this: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH3606
Next, on both of your devices, go to Settings > iCloud and turn on contacts and select Merge. Then turn off contacts and select 'Delete form my [device]' when prompted.
Now go back to iCloud.com and select a contact (yes they will all be messed up again) and select Command+A on a Mac or Control+A on a PC to select all of the contacts. Tap the delete key on your keyboard (or right click /control click a contact and select delete).
You iPhone, iPad and iCloud.com should not be empty for contacts.
Go back to Settings > iCloud on both devices and turn on contacts again (you should not see merge this time).
Next, go back to iCloud.com and import your contacts (those exported .vcards). You can either drag and drop them into the empty contacts list in your web browser, or you can use the gear icon to import.
You cleaned up contacts should import correctly into iCloud.com and sync to both of your devices.

After Installing Flash Player 9, i can't open anything with Flash

After ungrading to Adobe Flash Player 9, i can't open
anything with flash on any of my browsers (Safari, IE)
and it just keeps on running in circles...like it tells me to
go to the download page and then i would download it and install
the software, but after installation, it directs me to the
macromedia pages and it says:

Are you using any MS Office third party Add-ins? Test: Remove third party Add-ins other than PDFMaker. Test to see if the MS Office apps run afterward.
Did you attempt to repair MS Office? Test: Go to Add/Remove Control Panel run Repair.
Finally, have you tried testing to see if it's PDFMaker? Test: Use the Add/Remove Control Panel to modify the Acrobat installation to remove PDFMaker. See if MS Office applications launch and behave correctly?

I can't open anything in my Downloads list

I can't open anything in my Downloads list. I've tried resetting firefox and I've also tried everything in your article "What to do if you can't download or save files" but nothing helps. I tried to upgrade to the latest firefox to see if this helps but once I've hit the Download button, 1 minute later it appears in my downloads list and... same issue... I can't open it to run it! It's like it's crashed, because no amount of clicking on a download will activate anything. It seems like the Downloads list is dead! Also, (and I think this is linked), I cannot save web pages. I go though the motions and it looks like it's doing the right thing but the pages don't save - they just disappear into the ether! I'm on Windows Vista and have been downloading things happily for years, but suddenly this problem has occured and I've run out of ideas now... Please help!

No not really. If this is a brand new Macbook Pro take it back for a refund. Apple has a 14 day No Questions Asked return policy for Full refund.
Take it back, get the Full Refund (DO NOT LET THEM TRY TO FIX IT. YOU BOUGHT A NEW COMPUTER NOT ONE THAT HAS BEEN WORKED ON OR NEEDS TO BE FIXED) and then decide whether to buy another Macbook Pro or the iMac. Or you could return it, get the Full refund and buy some other brand computer.

Repair Permissions afterwards, reboot.
If all the above fails, then it appears to be time for an Archive & Install, which gives you a new OS, but can preserve all your files, pics, music, settings, etc., as long as you have plenty of free disk space...

Just be sure to select Preserve Users & Settings.
The usual reason why updates fail or mess things up, is if Permissions are not fixed before & after every update, with a reboot... you may get a partial update when the installer finds it doesn't have Permissions to change one obscure little part of the OS, leaving you with a mix of OS versions.
Some people get away without Repairing Permissions for years, some for only days.
If Permissions are wrong before applying an update, you could get mixed OS versions, if the Disk Directory is the slightest messed up, who knows what could happen!
If many Permission are repaired, or any Directory errors are found, you may need to re-apply some the latest/biggest updates.
I only use Software Update to see what is needed, then get them for real via...

Lion 10.7.5 is as far as you can go. You must have at least 2 GBs of installed RAM.

Once I'm in a site I can not open anything in that site, Such as paying a credit card was able to click on the calendar & pick a date, now all I get when I click on the calendar is a blank page.

Everything works great with Internet Explore So I know the problem is FFox. Going on for about 2 weeks now. For example trying to make a calendar with shutterfly. Once I click on upload, to find my photos I get a blank page, Banking site, click on the a check # was able to see the pd check front & back now all I get is a blank page. Can not open anything within a site. Already made sure Java & Adobe Flash is up to date.
