InDesign Testversion error 16

I installed the Adobe Creative Cloud and then the testversion of InDesign but since then I had to reinstall it 2 more times because there has been an error with the code "16". Why does that happen over and over again?

Thanks, I am going to try this and something I found on the support pages: Configuration error 16 | CC, CS the next time the error occurs (always after the shutdown of the PC). I just don't understand why this is happening. I didn't change permission settings, I am the Administrator on this PC and these are my first steps with testversion of InDesign and Creative Cloud ... :-(

You need to try exporting the first half of the book.
If that exports ok then export the other half of the book.
Whatever half it fails on - keep dividing the book in half to find the culprit page or pages.
For example if your book is 128 pages long:
1. Export pages 1 - 63
2. If these Fail to Export then
3. try exporting1-32
4. If these Fail to Export
5. then try exporting1-16
If it doesn't fail (step 2)
Then export pages 64-128
and 64-90 etc.
until you find the pages causing the issues.

Indesign 2014 error msg

How can I resolve Indesign 2014 error msg: cannot convert to color space, no source or destination path?

The color tab is blank and the swatches palette only has the basic rgb colors (no other swatches). I see the error message when I try to load rgb or cmyk into the color tab. Interestingly: the Indesign cc 2013 (still installed on my computer) has access to all the color swatches and palettes. Is there a way to establish the correct color path/destination for Indesign 2014? My OS is Windows 7.

I would have never figured that out myself. Thank you so much! On behalf on my dad a big thanks as well, because he is going to use Adobe InDesign CC (2014).
Here, a local, standard user account worked for me. However, the password of an Administrator account was required once.
Here, any username longer than 13 created that error code, for example I tried "AInDesignCC14" unsuccessfully. Usernames with 12 or less characters worked, for example "InDesignCC14" worked.
Just renaming an existing account did not work, because the personal folders did not change in name. Therefore, I was forced to create a new account.

I am trying to install a trail for InDesign CC to finish a project soon. I downloaded Creative Cloud, the app is in my folder, but it won't open and when I try to download InDesign an error pops up saying Adobe is trying to install malware.

I just installed Creative Cloud in order to download a trial for InDesign. I have the app icon for CC, but it won't open. When it was in my toolbar (on a mac) it just sat there loading for about 15 minutes. I tried restarting it but it won't open at all now. I also tried downloading an InDesign trail and it won't open at all. When I click for it to download an error message pops up saying Adobe is trying to instal malware and asks me if I want to continue. When I say yes, it doesn't do anything. I have a brochure that needs to go to the client by 4pm today! EEK!

Sydneybling it does sound like your security software is interfering with the process of installing and utilizing your Adobe Creative applications. I would recommend that you try temporarily disabling your security software and utilizing the directions listed at Install and update apps - https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/install-apps.html to install InDesign CC.

The idea is filter the files "*.indd" of the folder "Users/INDD" and then insert them in the book "BookINDD.indb". This script must be executed on InDesignServer. InDesign CC | Error with indd file - "Cannot open the file...Adobe InDesign may not support file format"

I encountered a very strange error with InDesign CC after saving a file created in CS4. I'd attach the file but I'm not sure how to do this, if I'm able to. The file is 44kb and doesn't seem like it should be (file I saved had a large book cover). Now since the original CS4 file was overwritten using InDesign CC, the file is corrupt and I'm getting the error message displayed below. The file is not open within another application. Has anyone gotten this before?

Indesign CS3 error on start up

Indesign CS3 on startup up reports a Java Script error- number 45 line 387. Had previously been working fine. Also works ok in other user accounts on my mac. I have tried trashing preferences, renaming recovery data, using clean up tool and then re-installing whole CS3, but the still still remains. Any advice/ help?

Hm, your "Date Modified" entries suggest you did a clean install of CS3 yesterday…

Do you have issues other than the error message?
Maybe menu entries missing in the area "XML…", "XHTLM/Dreamweaver…" or "XHTL/Digital Editions"…?
These are the ones that are Flash-based and are loaded as Startup Scripts.

Missing Required Parameter 'from' for event 'open' -- InDesign CS3 Error

Now that I've upgraded to OS 10.6, and I'm getting this weird error message (Missing Required Parameter 'from' for event 'open') when I open CERTAIN InDesign files by double-clicking on the icon. Other files open okay. Everything SEEMS to open okay when I open CS3 and go to FILE and OPEN.
Anyone else having this problem? Any advice?

I was having this problem too and then noticed that the files that would not open had special characters in the name, # or % for example.
I changed the name to exclude these characters and they all opened just fine.
If that doesn't work, it may be, if you use it, Suitcase Fusion. Extensis says that if your computer name is too long or also has special characters in it that it could be a problem in OSX 10.5 and later. Go into System Preferences/Sharing and edit your name to within 20 simple characters.

Indesign CS4 - error code 5

Hi I am having a problem opening InDesign files.
When I double click-file in finder (or file-open) an error message appears:
''Cannot open ''document.indd''. The file ''document.indd'' is damaged and cannot be recovered. (error code: 5)''
This has happened to 4 files which I have been working on in the past couple of weeks. Last week, when opening InDesign for one of these documents, I had a recovery message appear but as the document did not need recovering, or so I thought, I clicked no and it opened fine. This happened a couple of times until it eventually stopped.
It was Friday 11th March when I went to open one of the 4 docs and this message appeared and I have discovered another 3 docs which have the same problem today (13th March)
I have all my work backed up in my time machine to prevent any disasters like this, however even in the back-ups will not open when restored, showing the same message. I have also noticed that in time machine there are .idlk files for the corrupt documents. But these disappear when restored and I attempt to open the paired file.
I have noticed that the documents affected are 127.5 or 127.6 mb. However, some larger files are unaffected.
These files have alot of images - could this be a cause?
I have tried:
renaming file
zipping and unzipping
recovering: time machine back ups are still corrupt
resetting the indesign preferences
I would appreciate any advice on how to restore these files.

Peter, maybe this is interesting for you and/or the Adobe engineers. 28% of the bad InDesign files we get in here at Markzware the last months, have a file size of EXACTLY either 133.7 MB or 133.8 MB. Any ideas why?
