InDesign und InCopy gleichzeitig öffnen

Hallo,
ich habe ein Problem mit der Zusammenarbeit zwischen InDesign und InCopy. Ich habe ein InDesign Dokument und habe einzelne Textfelder für InCopy exportiert, damit es mehrere Nutzer gleichzeitig bearbeiten können. Habe ich jedoch die Datei in InDesign geöffnet, kann die Datei nicht mehr von InCopy geöffnet werden. Es muss immer erst in InCopy geöffnet werden bevor in InDesign.
Folgende Fehlermeldung erscheint: "Diese Datei ist bereits von einem anderen Benutzer oder einer anderen Anwendung geöffnet. Die Datei ist eventuell auf einem Netzwerkserver gespeichert und kann erst geöffnet werden,wenn der andere Benutzer sie geschlossen hat."
Die Datei ist auf einem lokalen Server gespeichert. Ich arbeite mit der InCopy CC und InDesign CC.
Gleiches passiert, sobald ich bei InDesign das Layout ändere und die Datei bei InCopy aktualisiere.
Kennt dort jemand eine Lösung? Im Service-Chat konnte/wollte man mir nicht helfen.

Wozu willst Du am selben Rechner gleichzeitig die selbe Datei, einmal über InDesign und einmal über InCopy öffnen. Das geht nicht, genausowenig, wie du jede andere Datei gleichzeitig öffnen kannst, und da ist es ndoch nicht notwendig. Um die Datei in IC öffnen zu können, muss sie in ID eingecheckt sein und umgekehrt.

Mein Indesign und meine InCopy Dokumente haben Interaktive Kästchen bzw Ankreuzfelder und sind im Original mit " ja" und "nein" definiert. Beim speichern der der InCopy Texte werden diese Interaktiven Kästchen zwar übernommen aber die Schaltflächenwerte werden steht nur noch mit "JA" beim wieder Positionieren ausgegeben. Wie vermeide ich das InCopy Dokumenten das die Interaktiven Schaltflächenwerte immer mit "Ja" überschrieben werden? Das für jeden Tipp dankbar.

Indesign und Incopy CC starten auf Win 7 und Win 8 Systemen nicht

Ich habe das Problem, dass Indesign CC sowie Incopy CC beim Starten auf allen meinen Systemen abstürzen (Splashbildschirm erscheint, dann folgt eine Windows-Fehlermeldung - bei 32- und 64-Bit Version). Die Adobe Hilfe, es unter einem neuen Admin-Konto zu starten, brachte nichts (waren ja auch schon Admin-Konten).
Zwischenzeitlich habe ich auf beiden Systemen probeweise Windows 7 (bzw. auch 8) ganz neu aufgespielt und nur Indesign installiert - ebenfalls Absturz.
Alle anderen CC Programme laufen ganz normal....
Weiss jemand einen Rat - oder ist es "einfach" nur ein Bug?

Ja habe ich: Am Freitag kam die Support-Mail, ich solle alle meine Schriften deinstallieren und nach und nach diese wieder installieren und jedes mal Indesign starten.
Bei 9000 Schriften wäre das sicher eine Arbeit von mehreren Tagen. Für mich weiterhin keine Lösung. In der C'T-Ausgabe von morgen (1.7) wird auf der letzten Seite die Ankündigung stehen, in der nächsten Ausgabe die CC vorzustellen. Ich werde mich mit der Redaktion in verbindung setzen udn meine "Erfahrungen" berichten. Vielleicht hilft ja das....
Zum Photoshop-Problem ist der Support nicht eingegangen (Photoshop CC speichert bein 2 von 3 Rechnern PDFs nicht richtig und lassen sich danach nicht öffnen).

wenn ich Dich richtig verstehe: Ich markiere mehrere Dateien in meinem Dateimanager an und klicke auf Öffnen (evtl. bei Dir "öffnen mit"), dann werden alle nacheinander, allerdings jeweils in einem eigenen Fenster geöffnet.
Das funktioniert auch, wenn Du im AR auf "Öffnen" klickst und wie oben beschrieben verfährst.

The Best Way to engage InDesign with InCopy

Hello Mr./Ms.
I have some question about collaborating between InDesign with InCopy. My question is which one the best way to engage InDesign with InCopy, the way number one or number two?
Usually, I make assignment first in InDesign, and I put that file (.inca) on a server. So the editor can open the inca file from server. Instead of Editor, I take the incx file from server.
The Editor directly open Indd File from server, so I'm not necessary to create assignment file.
I hope someone can help to solve this my problem. Thank you very much for attention.
note: What server and network requirement for best result InDesign and InCopy workflow?

I respectfully disagree; I think assignments are in most cases (not all) more trouble that they're worth. For your local work, continue w/INDD files only. It just makes things simpler.
When an editor wants to work on something off-site, the designer can make an assignment on the fly for them. It could even be the entire document as one large assignment. Since the stories are already exported, you just need to make the assignment (Create New Assignment from the Assignment panel menu) and the drag/drop the linked stories to that assignment. Other people can still open the INDD file but they won't be able to edit the stories that were packaged for the remote editor.

InDesign CS3 & InCopy - Reg.

Dear All
I am using InDesign CS3 & InCopy CS3. I can export as InCopy Assignment file,
InDesign file is fully composed [paginated] with checks alignments and hypenations using "US-Dictionary". Once a completed InDesign file can export to InCopy - Assignment.
After export the .incx File is open and checks then Hypenations are changed, some of the lines are moved in to next page, and etc are there.
So I need a document for "Draw back" of the InCopy's.
Any one please load or update the Dictionary contents and export as Incopy file, after that open and check, and give me the Solutions.
Problem :
[ID CS3] Using Dictionary file to export then Incopy files is changed Hypenation and Lines.
I can't update the Frames
I can't check and correct the Separate Frames - contents.
So Please any one can give me the favourable answer, I will appreciate you.

Problem with InDesign CS4, InCopy function disappear

Recently found InDesign CS4 always create many tmp files in the hard disk, and the function of exporting file to InCopy was disappear in the menu bar, what should I do? How to fix it?
Should I re-install the InDesign?

Alrighty, I finally managed to fix MY problem; I don't know if it will deal with your problem, saltydog.
After losing an entire day to uninstalling, reinstalling, updating, and banging my head against the wall, I stumbled across an unobtrusive little user comment at the bottom of that "Troubleshoot system errors and freezes in InDesign and InCopy (CS4 on Windows)" TechNote.

And user Carolyn Ccc was right. I, too, had my monitor set at 120dpi, since I am slightly visually impaired. Changing the scaling was a magic bullet fix for all the problems I was having.
I am just hoping that Adobe will kindly develop a patch that will allow InDesign to function correctly at the greater DPI scaling, for people like me who need the larger resolution on their monitor. It is very tedious to have to switch back and forth every time I want to do a little work in InDesign.

InDesign CS5 & InCopy CS5 - Crash on first open when behind Proxy

So I have CS5 InDesign and InCopy installed on a master image. When deploying the image to machines and opening up ID or IC for the first time they crash and continue to crash until I place the machine on an unrestricted network. The master image has ID and IC working yet it would appear Adobe is cache'ing machine info so when the product opens as another user for the first time it's calling home.
Any suggestions on how to get this problem resolved?

This has nothing to do with permissions. I can replicate the error over and over.
The short of it is Adobe is doing a check on the machine outside the network. If I turn the proxy settings off the program will open. If I turn the proxy settings on, which is default in order for anyone on the machine to get to the internet, ID and IC crash.
The long of it is if take a fresh build of 10.6.3 and up and install CS5 on it and your Mac is behind a proxy it will not open for the Admin who installed it or any other user on the machine. After hours of tracking it down I can get it to work but a work around is not what I'm looking for. Would prefer to have a product that actually works out of the box. Adobe has had issues with CS3, CS4, and now CS5 when it comes to proxy settings. Firefox finally figured out how to use the proxy settings hard coded in the Mac network settings in later version of Firefox 3.x and Firefox 4 so perhaps Adobe can do the same or at least build in proxy support to there application manager in order to resolve the issues at hand.
Related to this is another Adobe issue with how they've setup the installer and the /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe PCD/ folder which is a whole other issue, but can pop it's head up during this problem. http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/827/cpsid_82744.html Note they have you set permissions to 744 when your better off setting it to 777 due to issues with Non admin users writing to the cache.db file located here.

C'est un investissement important, mais qui peut s'avérer très rentable dans des flux de travail exigent ou graphistes et éditeurs doivent travailler en même temps où le temps est une contrainte importante.
Vous pouvez aussi créer des liens avec les fichiers textes importés dans InDesign en activant cette fonction depuis le menu GESTION DES FICHIERS dans les préférences. Mais attention à la redistribution du texte et la modification de la mise en forme du texte à chaque mise à jour. Il est important d'utiliser les mêmes styles dans votre document texte et votre document InDesign et de bien formater le texte en amont pour ne pas avoir à retoucher la mise en forme dans InDesign.

Should I wait to upgrade InDesign and InCopy Software?

I are currently running InDesign CS4 on a MAC with OSX 10.7.3. There are 9 InCopy users all on PC's that edit over the network. Everything was working ok until I got a new computer and started running Lion. Since that time my InDesign has crash multiple times, with autosaves not always working. I was hoping to wait for CS6 which I know is coming out soon but the crashes are costing me a lot of time. My question(s) are:
Is anyone else having this troupble and if so what have they done?
Should I go ahead and upgrade now instead of waiting for CS6 as I had planned? Will that solve this problem?

I moved the document off the server to my desktop and so far no crashes. If I have another I will post. Thank you!

Eventuell kleiner Erfahrungsaustausch Indesign und Web.
Angenommen ihr bekommt ein Indesign Paket (50 Seiten A4 ) und sollt daraus einen Internetauftritt auf Basis von HTML 5 machen.
Einbettung mittels SWF als Objekt und PDF als Objekt oder iFrame ist untersagt.
Hat einer bereits Erfahrungen mit HTML 5 with in 5 http://ajarproductions.com/pages/products/in5/purchase.php (Indesign Plugin) gemacht. Bei der Testversion plättert dieses Plugin mir alle Schriften in png, also nicht barriere freundlich.
Hat es einer schon mal mittels Muse probiert. Wird zwar sicherlich nicht so ganz Easy sein z.B. ein Typo 3 Templatet daraus zu machen aber was muss dass muss.
Wie seid Ihr bis jetzt vorgegangen ?
Meine Vorgehensweise, bis heute:
Indsign nach html exportiert
Mit Dreamweaver ein Template gebaut CSS mit DIV Boxen wo dann später im CMS die Inhalte platziert, Texte, Bilder... werden.
Danach alles noch mit jquery bzw. AJAX angereichert.
Flash ist leider untersagt. Vielen Dank Apple.
Dann Template ins CMS integrieren und Inhalte setzen.
Captivate macht es besser, da kann man alles in HTML 5 exportieren und seperat im CMS einbinden und publizieren.

Wenn das Wörtchen Wenn nicht wer....
Ich muss damit leben was ich bekomme, leider arbeiten die Zulieferer nur teilweise mit Absatzformaten, oder gar nicht, warum auch immer, aber das ist ein anderes Thema.
Alles nicht so einfach, wenn die fachliche Reife fehlt. Und deshalb hier im Raum die Frage nach Alternativen.

Kann InDesign Datei nicht mehr öffnen, mit CC gespeichert

Hallo liebe Adobe Community,
ich habe vor ein paar Monaten mit der InDesign Testversion (CC) eine Datei erstellt. Die Testversion ist schließlich abgelaufen und ich kriege die Datei nicht mehr auf, obwohl bei der Arbeit auf den PCs auch Adobe CC installiert ist. Wahrscheinlich fehlt ein entsprechendes Update o.ä. Wenn ich es öffnen will, kommt die Meldung, dass es in einer neueren Version "Adobe InDesign CS8.0" gespeichert wurde.
Kann mir jemand helfen? Ich weiß, dass man es als IDML exportieren, oder als "CS4 oder höher" speichern soll, aber nun ist es wohl schon zu spät. Gibt es andere Möglichkeiten es wieder zu öffnen? Oder könnte mir jemand die Datei schnell als ältere Version abspeichern?

Was den IDML-Workflow angeht, hat sich heute Nacht einiges geändert. Mit den letzten Updated der CC und der CS6 ist es möglich, die Dokumente so abzuspeichern, dass die INDD auch in Vorversionen zu öffnen geht. Wie weit zurück, habe ich nicht getestet, da auf meinen Geräten nur alle Versionen zwischen CS6 und CC2014 installiert sind. Dabei ist zu beachteen, dass CC 2014 diese Funktionalität noch nicht integriert hat, weil da ein größeres Update bald kommt.

Can links from InDesign or InCopy Articles use non-file: URLs?

I am trying to determine if InDesign CS6 or newer provides any way for links to be to URLs that are not file: URLs. For example, I am using a CMS that provides HTTP access to images. I would like to do something like:

My experiments suggest that this will not work but I'm hoping I've overlooked something.
Another wrinkle is authentication: for access to the CMS the URLs need to be authenticated, which means InDesign would need to get then authentication information on at least first resolution.
Is there a way to do this out of the box? If not, what would be required in terms of plugin implementation or library deployment to enable it? Back in CS3 days we were able to use some unsupported libraries to get URL resolution working but it would be nice if it worked out of the box.

As far as I know there is nothing new in CS5 (or CS4 for that matter) regarding which styles are retained when exporting frames to InCopy. If you're exporting an individual story (text frame) from ID to IC, the only styles in that ICML file will be the ones used by the text in the story. If there's no text in the story -- you're exporting an empty frame -- then the ICML file won't have any styles.
It's been this way as long as I can remember.
What you need to do in InDesign is keep some fake text in the text frame to which you've applied the styles you want the InCopy users to use. Export that, then in InCopy, open it up, delete the text, and the styles will remain. Now you can save it as an actual InCopy template file (ICTD? something like that) from the Save As menu, and when IC users open it, it'll create an untitled, empty copy of the starter InCopy document with all the styles.
In a non-Woodwing workflow, InCopy users open the actual INDD file and so have access to all the styles, even if the story frame they want to work on in that layout is initially empty. Or, they can import (Load) all the styles from an InDesign doc into their standalone InCopy file from the InCopy Paragraph Style panel menu (Load All Styles).Not sure if you can do the latter w/Woodwing.
I was pretty sure that Woodwing had a different way of creating InCopy templates, something like InCopy article templates? Not sure.

InDesign to InCopy problems

I am working on a 64 page document in InDesign CS4 (on the Mac) with 7 editors all on PC using InCopy CS4. The InDesign file resides on my desktop and the assignments and stories are on the server. Through lots of trial and error I have figured out how to at least to that.
Tonight as I am on my final draft all of a sudden I got the dreaded red question mark circle on all my assignments (InDesign). Today was the last day for editors to update their information of course. So everyone has been in there. Anyway, I was able to update all the stories associated with the assignments at least I think so, but the assignments all still have the question mark. I checked the server and the assignments seem to be there. I tried to save over them (change assignment location from my mac, )and even rename the assignments but the red question mark remains.
When I try to update all assignments I get a message that "One or more assignments could not be updated, please check the path for these assignments and try again.
My server may have dropped me for a short while tonight but it is up and running now. Any ideas?
I don't really want to unlink all the assignments in case anyone was tracking changes as they are supposed to. We are less than a week from press time. What do you suggest, I do?

I would not worry .. .editors don't actually edit the *assignments* (the ICMA files), they edit the *stories* (the ICML files/InCopy files) that the ICMA files show them. So tossing out or changing the assignments themselves will not affect the edits they've made to the stories.
It's similar to deleting an InDesign file that had placed Photoshop files. Tossing out the INDD file doesn't delete or change the original image files you had placed there. You can always recreate the InDesign file and re-Place the image files, and you'll see the edits made in Photoshop to these will still be there.
To fix your missing assignment problem, you need to use the Change Location feature. In InDesign, double-click the missing assignments in your Assignments panel and click the Change Location button, but save the assignment in the same location on the server. It won't "relink" to the ones it finds there (assignments aren't linked to layouts, they're more like attributes of the layout .... it's weird) but it will create a new assignment. The linked story files will remain associated with that assignment.

PS to answer your question Bob, about why she's set it up this way .... it's a way for designers who can't work off the server for some reason to still use the IC/ID workflow. They export assigments/stories to the server, where the editors can access them. But the stories are still linked to the designer's ID layout on their local computer.

Different version between Indesign and Incopy?

It ispossible to use different versions of both programs??
I have and use Indesign CS2 for windows for a newsletter and I have Incopy CS4 for mac for a printing facility
Is this possible?
