InDesign Upgrade will not accept my PageMaker 6.5 Serial Number

When I ordered InDesign from Sales, my PageMaker 6.5 Serial Number was verified by the Representative. However, when I went to install InDesign CS4, an error message appears stating that the serial number is not correct.
I contacted Adobe and they said they could not help me. Instead, to post the issue in this Forum.
I'm on the iMac OSX.5.
I've upgraded Adobe products over the years and have never encountered this problem.
I've got a major project to work on but cannot get at it. HELP!

Rob is right that serial numbers are EXACTLY what customer service is supposed to help with.
But until you get through, may I ask which serial number you're trying to input?
I believe you need to find the serial number on the box of InDesign, not your old PageMaker serial number. (In case you were confused and tried to enter it.)

    iOS devices cannnot be tracked or located with just the serial number. Unless you shared your Apple ID and password with anyone, then your account cannot be accessed at the iTunes Store.

  • Creative Suite 4 upgrade will not accept serial number

    I purchased Creative Suite 4 as an upgrade to Dreamweaver MX and everything was fine until my laptop packed up. On my new laptop I have re-installed Creative Suite 4 but it will not accept the serial number.
    I suspect this is because I do not have Dreamweaver MX installed on my new machine. I no longer have my Dreamweaver MX CD or serial number so am unable to re-install it.
    After a lengthy discussion with Customer Services they could offer no advice and suggested I post a question on the forums for advice.
    I would be grateful for any suggestions as to how I can get Creative Suite 4 to accept my serial number.

    Support is wrong. Only they can fix serail number issues since only they have access to the databases. Try again and request a different operator.

    I've been using FCE V1 for a while now, and just purchased FCE HD as a personal Christmas present Unfortunately it will not accept the (legitimate) serial number from the V1 product during the installation, so I'm stuck at this point. Is there any trick that I'm missing here, or does the Upgrade only work from V3 or V2 serial numbers?

    I have found with some software (don't remember if that included my upgrade to FCE HD or no), that sometimes, the SN in printed in lower case on the sticky tag, but the upgrade will only take upper case (or visa versa). Try using the other case if it doesn't work.
    Also, you need the serial number from the sticky tag which came with the software. The SN display in the "about FCE" splash screen is incomplete (missing at least three letters/numbers at the end).

It accepts the CS5 upgrade key, but when I go to select the current CS3 product from the list, it won't accept that serial as a valid serial number.  I get the error, "This serial number is not for a qualifying product. Please try another."
    I have CS3 Extended installed on the computer. How can I get it upgraded to CS5?

    Rafael_H there are no products registered under the account you are posting to the forums under.  During the installation process you will first want to enter the Creative Suite 5 serial number.  You will then want to enter the eligible full version serial number when requested.

    Hello, I installed my previously purchased CS5.5 onto a new 64 bit laptop with Win 8.1 (I had previously tried to install the CS5.5 on a 32 bit machine and decided to uninstall a couple years ago so i did not really use it).  I then purchased and downloaded the CS6 Upgrade. When i start the set up of CS6 it accepts the CS6 serial number but then it does not accept the CS5.5 serial number by stating it is not a qualifying product.  Does anyone please know how i get by this to do the upgrade?  Thanks.

    Not a dumb question and luckily, yes, I did select CS5.5 Master Collection from the drop-down.
    Actually, I did not realize it but we determined that my CS5.5 version is a volume license whereas I had downloaded a single upgrade of CS6 which I have learned is against Adobe policy.  So, somewhat similar to your second point.  I need to now call Adobe volume sales department to determine next steps.

  • Upgrade will not accept serial no.

    I'm having some trouble getting my Aperture 2.0 upgrade to install. I have the full version of 1.0 (Education version) and I purchased the upgrade from Apple's website. When I attempt to install it, it prompts me for the original serial number, which I enter. I get "The serial number you entered is not valid." as an error message and I'm unable to move on. I've checked and rechecked all the characters and they are correct. There are no spaces before or after the numbers and I'm using the dashes as I'm supposed to.
    I suspect it has something to do with my Education version. Anyone have any suggestions?

    In your initial post, you wrote that the Chat line does not work. What exactly happens when you attempt to use it?
    I suppose you have already tried this, but if you have a second computer, have you tried to install it from there?
    Another dumb question - are you absolutely sure you are using the Windows CD and not the one for a Mac? --- You wrote:  "To me it acts like there is something on the CD is missing."
    You never said, exactly what the problem was during installation. What was the message/result of each step you took?

    I have been supplied info in an email to copy and paste for a new product purchase "Adobe Acrobat XI Pro OCR" but am unsure how and where to copy and paste to. There is also a link below the serial number. I have tried entering serial number into my Adobe ID but it is not recognising one of the letters in the 24 Digit serial number??? Also I have tried other products previously downloaded to convert a 7 page PDF file on my Mac and convert it to a Word doc but everything I have tried is converting the file to display some text correctly but also displays random symbols and fonts in place of the handwritten info filled in on the form... also getting blank pages included instead of the info??? Would appreciate some help... I am older generation and not always tech savvy, and it is doing my head in haha.

    I've checked your account, and all is well there. Please make sure that you're logging in with the same Adobe ID/password that you used when you signed up.
    Then, clear the browser cache, and try logging in directly to https://cloud.acrobat.com.

    I have Adobe Acrobat 9 on an old laptop.  I downloaded Acrobat 9 from here Download Acrobat products | 9, 8 to my new computer.  I looked up the serial number on My Adobe, and have tried both pasting and typing it into the installation form. 
    I keep getting an "invalid serial number" message.

Note that Adobe Photoshop CS4 New Install Bundle package consists of the new Photoshop CS4 Upgrade bundled together with the qualifying product, in this case an Adobe Photoshop CS2 License. I have tried both the CS2 and CS4 Serial numbers and both have not worked.

  • Acrobat will not accept license code after installing cs4 premium upgrade

    We just upgraded to CS4 premium, from CS3 premium. In doing so acrobat replaced Acrobat 8 pro with Acrobat 9 pro.
    All our tools only work in Acrobat 8 pro, so we unistalled the Acrobat 9 pro and the software will not accept the keys from the product boxes that was used to install the software. the 30 day trial period comes up where you can enter a number or buy "version 9".
    Is there anything special to fix this mess that anyone has found?
    We are a printing company and use tools from enfocus, quite, and other special plugins that only support up to version 8?
    Before we totally uninstall CS4 premium we wanted to see if anyone else has had this issuse or knows who to get with at Adobe to get a key that will work for the licensed software.

    Apple ID has my old email address. It will not allow me to change the address and will not accept my password or ID questions.   I recently upgraded to OSX Yosemite 10.10.1.  I also have an Apple ID that works with iTunes and would like to keep it as my primary.

    To change the iCloud ID on your devices you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted (if using iOS 7), then sign back in with your current ID.
    If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, you will have to temporarily recreate it in order to delete the existing account.  To do this, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.
