InDesign using en_GB in preferences and not en_US

I am using InDesign CS4, and when I look at my palette for color, it is spelled the Great Britain version of "colour." Also, my measurements and everything else is in Great Britain form. When I went to see my preferences in my library, I have two for Version 6.0: an "en_GB" and an "en_US." How can I make the US one be dominant? Simply deleting the en_GB preferences does not work.

I have the same problem. I just purchased Creative Suite 5 Design Premium. I've discovered this discrepancy in the InDesign default folder. I purchased my software from EValueSoftware.

Multiple means how many? If only 2 or 3, they could all be faulty. Try the headphones in some other device, to make sure they are OK. Or there could be something wrong with the headphone port.
Your iPad is still covered by the 1-year warranty so you should make a Genius appointment and have it looked at.
Another thing to try is to plug in the headphone jack a few times in succession to see if it frees up something inside the port.

IPC have Sales Pricing Engine, Pricing Configuration engine and TTE which helps to maintain the similar R3 pricing settings. As you are aware pricing in R3 is determined by Sales area, Cupp, DPP, so IPC is capable of determining the Pricing using same R3 standard procedure. T
This is not available in CRM, so CRM needs IPC to undertake the determine pricing/ calculate the pricing of the products.

Credit memo uses base document total and not balance due?

Using SBO 2007 sp00 pl42 i have the problem that, having an AR invoice with a partial incoming payment, leaves an open balance of the invoice.
Later i use the "copy to" function, to the credit memo, but it uses the whole original amount, and not only the balance due, leaving the credit memo with an open balance equal to that payment value, and closing only the invoice and payment.
In SBO 2005 A sp01 the credit memo was copied with the original amount but it generated a discount matching the partial payment value, and this way automatically reconcile the 3 documents.

Using Quality Notification ONLY and not others in QM function, ok?

Hi,
I am wondering if the quality notification can be used (i.e.to help department initiate complaints, either internally or externally)without the use of QM module.
Basically, we do not have QM department, and we don’t need to inspect stuff on receiving material, we are just trading company. But, one of the function in QM called Quality Notification can be used to makes complains and hence, we just wondering if we do not customized the full QMsetting but just only customize Quality Notification Setting (like QN type), can we use this Quality Notification?

Yes, you can use it and you can customize the notification type as per your requirements.
Well, in standard 6 QN type presents. # for complaints and 3 for defect analysis. Q1, Q2 and Q3 are for Complaint records and there analysis. While F1, F2 and F3 are for Defect records and analysis.
You can customize them , change screen tabs and fields as pe ryour requirements and implement where you exactly required.

EPrint prints photo using my main tray and not the photo tray

Thanks for reviewing my question. I just bought the HP Photosmart C410 printer and setup the ePrint. When I print a photo from my iPhone it prints on the photo on the 8.5 x 11 paper instead of the photo tray. What gives?

Hey PDonstant,
1. You can go into the setup menu on the printer and go into preferences. In preferences you can go to Device Printer Tray Select and choose prompt for tray. This will give you the option to print to photo paper or Legal size.
2. You can try downloading the HP ePrint Home & Biz app and printing from there. You have the option to select the paper size and type from the app.
Although I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP.

Even tho iTunes is asking to confirm your credit card details, when you purchase something it will still draw from your iTunes balance first. I think it is just a security check to ensure no one else is using your account.
This happened to me a couple of days ago but i simply conformed my details and entered my card security code then itunes took the payment from my account balance.

Can time capsule just be used as extra storage and not back up

I recently purchased time capsule 3TB can i use the time capsule as extra storage only and not as a back up? My plan was to use TC to save all my itunes purchases (music, movies etc)?

Sure, it is possible but the following issue exists..
There is no easy backup. If you plug in a USB drive, the TC can only do a whole backup. It takes forever and with 3TB man the wait is going to be eternal as it has to write everything every time.. there is no incremental backup. If you copy the files over the network to another location, you are no better off, as you still need a second storage somewhere. And it has to be copied over the network to do it.
So think carefully as a TC has a single drive which can die any day.. and will for sure one day.. what you will lose on that day will depend on how carefully you have done backups which will require your attention.

InDesign CC Sync Settings; Preferences and Measurements

Hi all,
I'm finding Indesign CC particularly frustrating with regard to the lack of sync settings that are present in Photoshop/Illustrator etc.
It's particularly a problem because the application seems to want to work in picas whenever I open it. Although I can go into Units and Increments and edit the settings to prefer millimeters (I work in print in the UK) it resets to picas every time I open Indesign afresh.
Has anyone figured out a workaround for this? It's getting more and more trying by the day; this among other things in CC are tempting me to move back to my copy of CS5 until this is fixed.
Thanks for any light anyone can shed on this. Seems I'm either missing something big or Adobe is.

I guess mine was simply always set to millimeters before; I've never had cause to use another unit in InDesign except pixels every now and then - for those I must have just changed it for the single documents each time - oh well! Thanks

Check with AT&T and see what the rates will be. You may find it cheaper to check e-mail at an Internet Cafe or at the hotel. One of the changes with 1.1.1 is the ability to turn off data roaming when overseas. If you neither make nor receive calls, you'll not be charged for overseas roaming. But if the data function remains on and certain features like automatic e-mail checking are enabled, then you'll get the data roaming charges.
Personally, I've never taken the SIM out of the iPhone, but I would imagine that it would be necessary for data functions just like it is for phone calls. If someone knows first hand to the contrary, then I'll stand corrected.

OIM 11g using too much memory and not releasing it when shutting down

Hello,
we have a problem with OIM 11g using too much memory (about 5gb) and it's not releasing it at shutdown (4gb still used).
We are using a VM with RedHat Linux 5.6. Originally we had 4gb RAM + 2gb swap file. We installed Admin Server, OAM, OIM and SOA on that machine but quickly realised we couldn't run all 4 programs at once in 6gb. AdminServer could run with 2 other products, but it was a tight fit in memory.
So we increased the RAM to 8gb (still 2gb swap file). But then our problem occured : I start the Admin Server (2.7gb total memory used), then OAM (4.6gb total memory used) and then OIM. After it started the server is now using 9.6gb of memory (~300mb of free memory) ! The problem gets even better : after I shut down everything (OIM, OAM, admin server) the "top" command show that there is still 4gb of memory used even tho nothing else is running on the server ! There is absolutely no other process (other than root stuff) running and no other users connected to the machine. After a reboot, it shows 400mb of memory used. I tried restarting the programs and it did the same thing.
Our intuition is that there might be a memory leak or some bug in OIM that might use up almost all the free memory and it's not releasing it upon shutdown. It might have been there before we increased the memory but have not noticed it since memory was already tight.
Anyone encountered the same problem ? Any idea ? Any suggestion to narrow down the problem ?

You can adjust the memory settings for WLS by editing the setSOADomainEnv.sh file that can be found in your /middleware/user_projects/domains/<domain>/bin/ folder. There is an argument called PORT_MEM_ARGS which is used to set your Java memory arguments. This way you can decrease/increase the amount of memory used by each managed server.
I usually type "ps -ef | grep oracle" to see what processes are running by the oracle user. This way the output doesn't get cluttered with root processes.
