InDesign version CS5 updates
We currently use CS5 version 7.0.4. Can this version be updated to a newer version? If yes, with which?
It would be great to get a clear answer on that..

I have a brand new iMac, Retina 5K, Yosemite 10.10.1, with Java Version 8, Update 25, however, I still get a window when I open Adobe Photoshop CS5, that indicates that I need to install Java SE 6 Runtime. Any suggestions?

Illustrator version CS5.1(15.1.0) update
I have Illustrator version CS5.1(15.1.0) which was part of the creative suite purchased in mid 2011, does anyone know if there is an update for it?
I use the update link within Illustrator, but it says all my applications are uptodate, not sure if this is correct.
I am sure it can be updated to cs5.5? since installing Mavericks things ain't what they used to be and a little confusing?

CS5 update date issue with CS4 Student Licensing version
Before downloading the Flash Pro CS5 update, from Adobe's web-site, I called Adobe and asked this question, " Will the Flash Pro CS5 upgrade work with my Student Licensing version?" The answer I received (after being put on hold), was "Yes, the CS5 upgrade will work with my version of CS4."
However...after paying for and downloading the Flash Pro CS5, I am finding that it is not working. The serial number asked for, from my version of CS4, comes up as being not valid.
Any suggestions as to resolving this issue would be appreciated!

~BGThere are no restrictions against you using your student-licensed version of CS4 (either any of the suites or individual programs) for commercial work other than that you may not sell or otherwise transfer your license to anyone else.

Visual Studio compiling 64 Bit Plugin for InDesign Server CS5
Hello guys,
Again I have a problem compiling 64 bit plugins, but this time in windows environments, the 32 bit compiling works fine (also on 64 bit machines). The first thing I've done was creating a new project configuration for 64 bit environments copying the 32 bit settings. Now I changed the precompiled libraries to use the 64 bit ones and changed the output directories. After that the compilation process completed without errors, but the resource files have not been copied to the output directory (the directory for them has been created, but it remains empty). Adding the created plugin into the servers directory ends up with a server message that the plugin could not be recognized. Have I missed something that is necessary for compiling 64 bit plugins?
I'm using the 64 Bit Developer Version of the indesign server CS5. The operating system is a Windows Server 2008 x64 R2 with Visual Studio 2008.

P.S. a plugin compiled with 32 bit settings (including 32 bit libraries) also works for the 64 bit version of the server, so does it make any difference if I'm using 32 bit or 64 bit libraries?The libraries were all correct (all using 64-bit). The problem was a pathing issue. libxml2 needs iconv.dll, but it couldn't find the 64-bit version that I built. Once it found it, everything worked correctly.
The funny thing about depends.exe is that it isn't right all the time. For example, if you open one of the 64-bit .aip files that ships with Illustrator (rename it to .dll first), you'll see what I'm talking about. It complains that you're mixing x86 and x64 CPU types, even though you're not.
The program I used to discover my issue is Process Monitor (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645.aspx). I've been using it for years and love it. -
Issue in setting Load balancing for Indesign Server CS5.5
Hi All,
I need to set up load balancing mechanism for Indesign Server CS5.5 on Windows Server 2008 R2(64 bit version).
I have dutifully following all steps defined in "WORKING WITH LOAD BALANCING AND QUEUEING FOR ADOBE INDESIGN CS5 SERVER.pdf"
After running Indesign server using batch file "startup-indesign-server-CORBA-4instances.bat" from "<ID_SDK>\samples\load-balancing-and-queuing-clients\indesignserver-startup-scripts", I get only one instance of Indesign Server running. How to run multiple instances of the INDD server ? Is running multiple instance has something to do with type of licensing ?
Now I run Clover.cmd script, I get this screen. I have no idea why its not working. Please help. Please let me know, if the scenario is not clear and more information is required.

Selecting InDesign version in VB script
I am having some difficulty with selecting the proper version of InDesign in my VB scripts.
Usually I use the connection string: CreateObject("InDesign.Application"), which will launch in whatever version is installed.
Now, one of my customers has installed version 6 along side with version 5.5, which means that I have to supply either: CreateObject("InDesign.Application.CS5.5") or CreateObject("InDesign.Application.CS6"), in order to get it to run on the proper version.
What I don't understand is why the script doesn't start within the version of InDesign that it is activated from. If I use the connection string: CreateObject("InDesign.Application"), and I start it from within InDesign version 6 (from the script menu), why does it launch version 5.5 and try to run the script there? Why does it not run inside the InDesign application that launched it?
It quickly becomes a mess to have to modify scripts whenever people install new versions of InDesign, so is there any way to ensure that a VB script is always run within the InDesign application that launched it, regardless of what other versions people might have installed?you can use WMI to have a peak at all the ID processes.
here I have both CS4 and CS5 running, hopefully only one version should be running at a time, and we can use the ExecutablePath property to get the version (CS4 for instance) from it.

Indesign in CS5.5 not launching when selected.
Hi,
We have Indesign as part of the CS5.5 suite that was working fine until yesterday when it would not launch once it was selected.
I have reinstalled the program and the whole suite but without any luck.
All the other programs in the suite work fine, it's only Indesign.
Can anyone assist?

Will InDesign/Illustrator be updated for Retina Macbook Pro Display?
Will the Adobe Creative Suite programs be updated for the MacBook Pro Retina Displays? If so, when?
I viewed text in InDesign 5.5 and Illustrator on Macbook Pro with Retina at an Apple store (with Display Performance set on High Resolution Display in InDesign) - the type looks all pixelated at edges. Much smoother on Antiglare display. I and deciding between purchase of a Macbook Pro 15-inch Hi-Res Antiglare screen and the Retina display screen. It would help in my decision if Adobe would give some indication, if or when there may be updates in Illustrator and InDesign for better type on the Retina display.The only program we’ve heard about is Photoshop and that’s CS6.
The chances of older versions being updated are pretty much zero.

I just updated my InDesign to version XXXXX.
Now when I try to launch it, I get the following insanely long error message. Can anyone please help? I have tried clearing the cache files, and it did not work. Using a Macbook pro with Yoesmite 10.10.2

You need to install the latest update to CS6, for starters. Did the application ever launch? -
Will CS6 Design Standard (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) (also CS5 Photoshop Ext.) work in Apple OSX Yosemite?
What is wrong with Adobe that they do not address this situation. I work in a town that has a major design school and the students (who can't afford CC) are all out of luck running CS6 on the recent (Feb 1) update to Yosemite.
The whole Adobe community should be pressing them on this situation...as well as Apple. Don't these companies converse! -
Installation of InDesign 7.03 update failure, any ideas how to fix?
After repeatedly trying to install InDesign 7.03 update on my InDesign CS5 I continually get a message saying: Validate license at Pre-chrome" when installing - Creative Suite 5 and the installation fails. I have successfully installed InDesign CS5 updates in the past. Does anybody know why this message is appearing and how to fix it.

Mike CowdroyI had the same problem with my CS5 Design Premium and this workaround helped for me: Since I'm working on a MAC, I created a second User-Account (admin) and tried the upgrade from here - which worked out fine..! Not the way it should be of course...

When launched while logged on, it launches ok.
