Indesing Panels and Windows

Hi guys,
I have to finish a work document in Indesing in a PC, i don't have my Mac with my preferences and so on. I notice that the default Windows Panels in text doesn't show as much info as i would like to, for example, kerning, tracking, hyphenation, adjust to baseline, etc.
I am sure there is a way to open those extra features in the text pannel info.

The panels work identically on Mac and Windows. It looks like there's no enough room to show everything. Open the panel menu and set the preferences for what you want there.

Properties panel and window options blank

This just started happening in Dreamweaver CS4 and I believe I just updated my Adobe on my machine, Windows 7 with CS4 installed for over a year or so now.
I have suddenly have no access to the properties panel, although it is there if I close the program, then open it fresh. As soon as I start working it becomes blank. Any insights appreciated. See screenshot:

I would try resetting your workspace by going to Window > Workspace Layout > Reset (name) Workspace
If that doesn't help, try clearing the program cache file: Deleting a corrupted cache file

Icloud Control Panel and Windows XP

I want to use icloud control panel to upload my phones from my ipad to my computer, but I have Windows XP and Control Panel 3.0 won't work with Windows XP. How can I do this with my current version of Windows?

KDE4 Panels and Windows covering them...

Normally, I like to have my panel visible. I'm not one of those people who like to automatically hide them, or have windows cover them. I like to quickly look at what's open, etc...
Except when I play games. I play an online MMO called EVE Online. I'v e got it running well uner WINE (only a few minor things that I need to fix) and it runs great. However, I've had to incorporate several workarounds to get it to display properly since I use TwinView and I wanted to play the game on one monitor only. Here's is the command I use to play it:
wine explorer /desktop=Client1,1680x1050 "C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\eve.exe"
This works well. I also use KWins awesome window-specific setings to remember additional window parameters, such as forcing Fullscreen off and No Borders on: see, I like running my game in a "window" but to have no borders so that looks like it's fullscreen. This has some benefits including flawless Alt+Tab (some games just don't like to do it) and being able to go quickly to different windows (like a browser to look something up).
However, this Windowed + No Border thing, while working flawlessly, has led to a sticky situation with my KDE panel. Like I said, I like my panels to always show unless I'm playing a game. When the game is in Windowed mode, the panel sits there at the bottom and sticks out like a sore thumb (not to mention getting in the way of in-game controls that the panel covers). I've been forced to auto-hide my panel until I can find a suitable workaround.
And thus to my question: Is there anyway to have specific windows (via KWins "window specific" settings or otherwise) force itself to override (or otherwise ignore) KDE's panels settings when it comes to visibility? There are very few windows that I ever want to cover the panel with, and all of them are for games.

I could, and it does work, but not that way I'd like because it keeps above EVERYTHING, not just the panel. Like I said above, I do other tasks while I play; browse the web, look stuff up, have a few terminals open, etc... and if the game window is set to always be on top then I can't have those other apps on the screen. Sure, I could use my second screen, but I usually have a webbrowser under the game window that I can quickly alt+tab to and pop up...
Maybe I'm just too picky. >_>

ICloud Control Panel and Windows 8

I cannot get it to install.....any help?

iCloud Control Panel is available in the Control Panel. To access to it, access to the desktop, right-click at the bottom left corner (where Start button should be) and choose Control Panel. Then, go to Network & Internet, and you will find iCloud there, so open it and log in with your Apple ID to access to iCloud

Idea - free floating panels and windows

Hi I would like to see the free floating windows we had in previous versions in CS6. They were so flexible. Perhaps they are there but I could not locate them. I run macbook pro/ lion/ external monitor. thanks

The only thing that has changed in CS6 is that the Application Frame is now checked by default.
You can turn it off in an instant by going to the Window menu in Photoshop and UNchecking the Application Frame menu item.

Xfce4-panel and window placement

How can I get XFCE4 to not place any windows that would be hidden under the panel? My panel extends all the way from the left to the right. I have my workspace margin bottom at 100. Everytime I start up XChat it places itself under the panel... Any ideas?

I hated that thing....seems that xfwm4 doesn't respect but xftaskbar4...its the only thing it won't cover it....what i did is dumping the panel....its not that useful anyway...u can launch apps using the desktop menu...the only thing i miss is "show desktop" button.

This would be the correct setting if the AirPort Extreme is connected to a simple modem (one ethernet port).

I'm not sure what may be causing your issue on the right side of the screen, other than possibly your application frame is wider than your screen size so you aren't able to drag the window tab far enough to get the highlighting effect. Make sure your application frame is maximized to your screen by hitting the middle button in the top right of the window so it changes to the double square icon. That way, you'll know whether the edge is off screen or not.
Only certain windows can be brought to the top or bottom since those are reserved for toolbars and the Properties Inspector respectively.

After much some reasearch I fixed this problem for my problem computer. I have two computers running Windows 7 64-bit, one working with iCloud contact/calendar sync and the other getting this "0x8004010F: ZebraMapiCopySession::CreateMobileMeMessageStore: CreateMessageService failed" error (when you look at the report data to Apple).
So when I compared my system to a working system, I found that there was a difference in the bit-named DLL used by iCloud.
Go to Outlook, File, Options, Add-Ins and in the Active Application Add-ins section highlight "iCloud Outlook Addin". You'll find the DLL name there.
On my working computer, it was APLZOD6432.DLL, while on my problem computer it was APLZOD32.DLL. Ah ha! Its trying to setup Outlook 64 with a 32-bit iCloud DLL. Or so I thought.
I looked for a 64-bit specific install for iCloud. Nope, iCloud 1.1 is for both. Hmmm...
I thought I had installed Office 2010 64-bit on my problem computer, but apparently I installed 32-bit. I was able to confirm this by going into Outook, File and Help. Under "About Microsoft Outlook" it said 32-bit. Checking the working computer, it was showing 64-bit Outlook.
So this also brought another thought to my mind. Maybe the problem is because I installed the iCloud control panel before I installed Office 2010. That said, I uninstalled iCloud Control Panel (Add/Remove Programs), and re-installed it from the manual download page http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1455 and tried contact syncing again. It worked!
Then I went to check the DLL in use. It was APLZOD32.DLL. So perhaps iCloud sets up for 64-bit Office when no office is installed on Windows 7 64-bit and breaks when you install 32-bit. Or there is a part of iCloud install that needs to be done with Office installed. Either way, I'm happy to have the issue fixed. Leaving the 32-bit Office there for now.

Outlook 2010 and the I Cloud Control Panel for Windows

After setting up the I Cloud Control Panel for Windows on my PC and watching it upload and download all of my Outlook 2010 calendar, I find that I now have 4 calendars: my calendar, an I Cloud calendar, another called Pocket Mirror Archive - I Cloud and yet another called Pocket Mirror Conflict - I Cloud. Also, Outlook is now very, very slow and unresponsive when I do anything and hangs up a lot for a minute or so. Do I need to keep all of these calendars open? And what's with the Pocket Mirror Calendars? And which one should I enter things into?
Then when I checked Contacts from Outlook in the Control Panel, it uploaded and downloaded and then permanently hung up with the wheel turning in the setup process - finally had to use Task Manager to exit the Control Panel.
I haven't yet changed my I phone or my I pad or my Macbook Air over to the cloud, mostly afraid to because when I've tried it previously, it caused all kinds of missing calendar items or duplicates and I had to erase it all and re-do the sync with I Tunes, the old way after restoring my .pst file and restoring my phone from a backup.
Do I dare re-connect my phone and ipad to the cloud now that Outlook is uploaded there?
Or must I just forget the cloud completely and stick to I Tunes?
Can anyone help me out with all of this? I know it's a lot of questions, but I'm at my wit's end.

Why are you running Pocket Mirror, do you have a Palm device?
Uninstall Pocket Mirror, delete the 2 Pocket Mirror calendars, ignore 'My Calendar' the iCloud calendar is the one to use.
If you do not uninstall Pocket Mirror the calendars will keep recreating themselves

Windows server 2008 can't access control panel and can't choose "properties" under "my computer"

Hello everyone!
Today after a schedule restart on the night I thought everything was normal with my server. But When i go to "start -> control panel" it show me "empty". And if I try to lunch "change/remove software" via search window in
"start" then nothing happen.
I know also that I can't right click on "computer" and choose "properties" in the start-menu.
Also another problem. I did install Fbackup to make schedule file backups on the night. The software worked well to launch when I had installed it, but after the night, this morning it just crash on launch.
I can also tell that I did add from 4 CPU core to 6 CPU cores.

Have you tried to see if the issue persists when you boot into Safe Mode? Since you it shows blank when accessing Control Panel, please check if the policy setting below has been
configured.
Please choose Start – Run - type (gpedit.msc) - click on (Administrative Templates) - (control Panel) -
Prohibit access to Control Panel and Show only specified Control Panel applets. If they were configured, please disable them to see if it could resolve the issue.

FW CS4 Mac: Top left of window lost under Tools Panel and Application Bar

Hello!
Somehow Fireworks started opening all my windows pushed to the top left, and tucked under the tools panel and the new Applications Bar - the only way to move windows, is to un-snap the bars and pull them off of the top of the screen -- really annoying. I tried throwing out FW CS4's prefs files - no help. Changing the view mode - no help...
Help?

These are the steps that should be followed:
Restore default preferences
Quit Fireworks.
Locate the Fireworks      Preferences file on your hard disk and delete it.
The exact location of this file varies from system to system.
In Windows, preferences are      in your user-specific Fireworks configuration folder.
    Windows [Drive]:\Documents and Settings\[UserName]\Application Data\Adobe\Fireworks CS#\English\
In Mac OS, preferences are in      the Library/Preferences folder in your user folder. For information about      locating your Mac OS user folder, see Apple Help.

Note: On Mac OS, most      Fireworks user-specific configuration files are stored in your      user-specific Application Support folder.

How do we keep the panels and the icons windows open at the same time?

Hi, I was watching a tutorial and noticed that he had the panels and icons window open at the same time as seen in this picture:
When ever I click the arrow on the right it removes one of these panels from my view.
How do I do this?

Navigator to layers is a 2nd column. The double arrow is bascially a collapse button. In the screenshot you show has column 1 of windows is collpased, and column 2 is uncollapsed.

Issues with color panel and other windows on right side of flash

Ok the issue I'm having with flash is that the windows on the right side of my flash window do not snap up when I collapse a window. I am attaching a screen shot to better explain this issue.
As you can see I have the color panel collapsed up, when I expand this panel and it goes down everything shifts down. however when I collapse it back up a huge gap is left behind in CS5.5 as is displayed in screen shot number 2. In CS4 I never had this problem. I could expand and collapse panels as I saw fit with no problems what so ever. Everytime now that I expand a panel and collapse it, the library or other panels do not move up with the collapsing. This causes a workspace issue. and forces me to drag up the library via the black line that is just above it but below the align panel so that I have better access to my library or properties panel for when I'm working. I find this highly annoying and would like it if there could be a fix produced to make it so this collapsing issue can be fixed and I don't have to waste time dragging up the library/properties panel everytime I need to access stuff in my library when I have a huge list of graphics I'm going through.
