Index and Paging file location change

Gurus,
I wanted to change the location of the .ind and .pag files. Right now it is in the D drive in the default location. I would like to change it to a different drive. How could I achieve it.
Thanks

Hello,
Yes you can do that.
Login to the essbase and go to the application -> database.
Right click on the database. Go to edit -> properties. A new window will open, go to the "Storage tab".
In the bottom side there is a details of index file and page file is given. You can set the location of the index file and page file over there.
Hope this helps.

  • Change the Data and Log file locations in livecache

    Hi
We have installed livecache in unix systems in the /sapdb mount directory where the installer have created sapdata and sapdblog directories. But the unix team has already created two mount direcotries as follows:
    /sapdb/LC1/lvcdata and /sapdb/LC1/lvclog mount points.
While installing livecache we had selected this locations for creating the DATA and LOG volumes. Now they are asking to move the DATA and LOG volumes created in sapdata and saplog directories to these mount points. How to move the data and log file and make the database consistent. Is there any procedure to move the files to the mount point directories and change the pointers of livecahce to these locations.

  • Using powershell to manipulate mapi profile and PST file locations

I have a situation whereby I need to move a bunch of PST files out of the default location in Office 2010 and change the mapi profile for the user so that the pst file location updated so the user doesn't experience any issues when launching Outlook.
My logic flow is as follows:
1.) locate All pst files referenced in the logged on users MAPI profile.
2.) Move these files to a another directory eg. c:\users\%username%\OutlookFiles
3.) Update the MAPI profile to point to the new location so that when the user launches Outlook he doesn't notice that the files have been moved.
I know how to copy the files using powershell etc. but how on earth do you query the MAPI profile to locate the pst files and then change each entry for a PST file to point to the new location.
    Anyone got any ideas?

What you are trying to do cannot normally be done with a script due to a whole host of reasons including differences in versions and lack of access to a users profile.
    !. Are you on Exchnage?
    2. Have you redirected the users folders with Group Policy yet?
Outlook OST files are not movable without the use of a third party tool.  It is far easier to just have the users create a new profile.
PST files that are attached in a user session can be moved using a script that can be run by the user.
    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  • JWS : Properties and Log file locations?

We have a swing app that used log4j to log to a file. It also uses Apache commons PropertyConfiguration to allow the user to setup and save properties to a file.
This all works great when running the app locally. The app creates the log file and properties file in the folder where the user launches the app from.
Now that I'm trying to launch the app via JWS we should have the log file and properties file in some "known" location so that it doesn't matter if they launch the app from a browser, or from a desktop icon, or from a menu - the app will always look for the file in the same location.
Any thoughts on where this location should be? For now we are just releasing to Windows users but eventually we will need to be able to launch on Mac and Linux as well. Is there some convention as to where such files should reside when using JWS?
    Thanks in advance!

If it is signed, it can use a subdirectory of System.getProperty("user.home").
You may want to look at PersistenceService.get(...).getXXXStream() that may overcome sandbox restrictions.

  • Tmp file locations and Log file locations

I have been having a real headache too trying to get WebLogic to put all its
log files and temporary files in directories that I specify. It seems that
WebLogic has a mind of its own as files get created all over the place.
Trying to configure these really basic settings has proved extremely
awkward. Why is it such a nightmare to do?

OK, I changed the relative path for the log files.
    1. I am still getting app-startip.log
    app0000.tlog
in the root directory and not in the ./logs directory. Any other
    settings?
    2. I sill do not know how to redirect the tmp_ejbdomain.port directory.
    Any suggestions?

  • TCP and LCP files location...

Observing that Lr displays only very few camera calibration profiles and also very few couples camera/lens profiles (for the brand of camera's I use), I made a thorough search of all ".TCP" and ".LCP" files existing in my computer.
Wow ! ... these files are located in a lot of different places !    This certainly from successive updates.
But, I imagine that Lr5 refers only to one "specific directory", showing only the the profiles stored in it.
Here all the directories path where I've found those profiles (Win7-64):
LCP files : by us Program Files = Program (not Program Files (x86)
    C:\Program Fifes\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.7\Resources\LensProfiles\1.0\(Brand name)\LCP Files
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\CameraProfiles\Lens Correction\LCP Files
    C:\Users\(User Name)\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\LensProfileDefault\LCP Files
    C:\Users\(User Name)\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\LensProfiles\LCP Files
    C:\Users\(User Name)\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\LensProfiles\1.0\LCP Files
    C:\Users\(User Name)\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\LensProfiles\1.0\Downloaded\LCP Files
    C:\Users\(User Name)\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\LensProfiles\LCP Files
    C:\Users\(User Name)\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\LensProfileDefaults\LCP Files
    DCP files :
    C:\Programmes\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.7\Resources\CameraProfiles\Adobe Standart\
    C:\Programmes\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.7\Resources\CameraProfiles\Camera\(Brand name/Camera model)\ \DCP Files
    C:\Users\(User Name)\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Color Profiles\DCP Files
Now... "where" the profiles (involved in the latest version of Lr5) have to be located ?

What to do if a profile doesn't exist in this "good" directory, but well in another (perhaps from a previous version). Are they usable under Lr5-7 ?

What to do with the directories not more used by Lr5-7 ?
    Many thanks for your answers.

    Many thanks, Bob
    Fm Julieanne Kost's :
Lightroom reads camera and lens profiles "from several locations"...
If you use the Adobe Lens Profile Creator utility to create your own lens and camera profiles, Lightroom installs them here:
    X:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4.2 RC\Resources\CameraProfiles\
    X:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4.2 RC\Resources\LensProfiles\
Well, if I understand, the correct paths at home are :
    LCP files → C:\Program Fifes\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.7\Resources\LensProfiles\1.0\(Brand name)
    DCP files → C:\Programmes\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.7\Resources\CameraProfiles\Adobe Standart
    +             → C:\Programmes\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.7\Resources\CameraProfiles\Camera\(Brand name/Camera model)
Could the other directories found in my PC been used by other application(s) ? (I also have PS)
    Stay 2 other questions:
    1. What to do if a profile doesn't exist in a "correct directory", but well in another (perhaps from previous versions).
Are they usable under Lr5-7 ?
May I transfer them into the right place for Lr ?
    and
    2. What to do with the directories not more used by Lr5-7 ?
    Thanks for complementary answers.

  • Backup or Storage Question and Default File Location

I just got a EX2 6TB and I am very new to this concept of cloud storage.I have my EX2 in RAID 1. I have two questions:  1) Can this product be used as both a storage and backup device or must you decide to do one or the other?1a) If you can use the EX2 as both for backup and storage - how do you do that? I want to use this primarily as storage and move files from my computer, which is full, to the EX2.  But, if I use the EX2 as storage then I assume I need a backup system - another EX2 or separate external drive. 2)  If I use the EX2 as my primary storage device how do I set my computer for all files to be saved on the EX2 without drag and drop every time for every file or all my daily work? Thanks! Mike

Hello and welcome to the WD Community.
    1) Can this product be used as both a storage and backup device or must you decide to do one or the other?
1a) If you can use the EX2 as both for backup and storage - how do you do that?
Yes, you can use that as both. Just make sure to map the drive properly and it will show within your network and you will be able to copy and paste files to it manually and to access to the drive directly.
    2)  If I use the EX2 as my primary storage device how do I set my computer for all files to be saved on the EX2 without drag and drop every time for every file or all my daily work?
Not sure if you will be able to set the unit as a primary storage for all of your applications. Some of them will not allow you to save directly to a network unit.

  • Indexing and searching files on linux

I have been using this program called Everything on Windows.
Which is the most awesome desktop search program I have ever encountered btw. It's just clean, simple and efficient
I can never remember where any of my files are so I really need something similar for linux.
You guys know of anything like this?

    thestinger wrote:
If you just want to search using filenames, there's nothing wrong with locate and find.
If you want to search using metadata from files, content in the files, etc. then you'll have to use something like tracker, strigi or beagle.
find is fine if you don't have many files or know approximately where the file you're looking for is located, but when searching through 3TB of stuff with a partial filename it's gonna slow since there's no search index.
Also it would be better if I had a simple gui.
There's mainly 2 things I like about Everything and would like to find a linux search program that works in a similar way
-Search index, that is built extremely fast. Also it monitors changes and adds/removes from the index on the fly. (search results appear instantly because of this)
-It searches in a similar way like when you're searching the media library in most music players (e.g. itunes, rhythmbox, foobar). It starts by showing every file and folder on the computer then narrows down the results with each letter you type.

  • Custom.pll and custom.plx location changed

    Hi Friends,
I am having Oracle Apps 11.5.9 and i had the custom.pll and custom.plx on $AU_TOP/resource and make the changes there and it's working fine.
Now suddenly the changes made on the file is not refelecting so i searchd the server and i could see another copy of custom.pll and custom.plx on the $COMMON_TOP/admin/scripts and the changes being made on this files is getting reflected(not the one from $AU_TOP)
I don't know how this change happened.
So Please let me know how to change the location of custom.pll and custom.plx from $COMMON_TOP/admin/scripts to $AU_TOP/resource?
    Regards,
    Arun

    Arun,
How did you verify that the one which is used is the one under $COMMON_TOP/admin/scripts?
So Please let me know how to change the location of custom.pll and custom.plx from $COMMON_TOP/admin/scripts to $AU_TOP/resource?Copy the CUSTOM.pll file back to $AU_TOP/resource, and compile the file again. Make sure both files (CUSTOM.pll and CUSTOM.plx exist under this directory), and bounce the application services then.
Also, delete all CUSTOM* files under $COMMON_TOP/admin/scripts (take a backup of the files first).

  • Itunes has lost all music and no files located on laptop apart from one.

    Hi,
We have recently downloaded all our CDs into itunes to clear them out and have them successfully on our devices. I went to reorganise my music and change things and discovered that my music library looks like it is there but says cannot locate file. I have tried to search for the albums but they are nowhere. There is my most recent download and I can search for that and it plays but that is all. Please help...we no longer have the albums and have purchased a lot through itunes.
    Thanks.

    Hey Lhatcher1987,
That can definitely be stressful, but there's an article that can help you find the media you expected to appear in iTunes. I'd read through it and see if that helps you find the missing music:

  • Save and make file name change

When I save as, I want the image to be the name of the file I type so that all subsequent changes can be saved only by clicking "save" and not having to browse to and rename the file EVERY TIME. Sometimes this works properly, sometimes it doesn't. It seems very random.
I think it has something to do with "save as a copy" but more often than not, that option is greyed out so I couldn't set it if I wanted to.

Photoshop invokes "Save As Copy" functionality when it senses you can't save all the things in your image document in the format you've chosen.
For example, if an image has layers, or channels beyond R, G, and B, or is in 16 bit mode, it will not be able to save all these things in a JPEG.  Thus it invokes "Save As Copy" functionality, and makes the assumption you'd like to save the whole document, including all the extra stuff, in a separate master file in a format that can handle everything - e.g., .psd.
This leads to this (normal) behavior:
    1.  You work on a design or photo that has a bunch of fancy stuff in it (e.g., some layers, some masks, some extra channels, in 16 bit modes).
    2.  You Save As a master .psd file.  This does NOT invoke Save As Copy, and DOES set the default save filename.
    3.  You work on it some more.
    4.  You Save As a .jpg file - for example to prepare for publishing it.  This invokes Save As Copy and the default filename remains .psd.
    5.  You try to exit Photoshop and it tells you that you haven't saved your .psd master file, so you save it.
If you want the Save As operation to reset your default filename, flatten it, remove channels, lower color depth, or whatever to make it compatible with the format you're saving, so that Save As Copy isn't forced.  Or Save As another different .psd or .tif that can handle all those features.
    Hope this helps with understanding.
    -Noel

  • Originals and Modified files suddenly changed to alias

I've just been doing business as usual. Last thing I did was import several photos last week. Today, I open up the library and find that the original files have all been magically changed to alias. I could work with them up to a point, could even open them in an external editor. But as I worked, I lost even that. I find that this corruption has moved back several events - but not through the whole library. I need to know why this is happening, and if there is some way to re-designate these as original files. The data is there - or was five minutes ago. My back-up, so responsibly done last week, is corrupted too, now. I can see the thumbnails, and as I said, could actually work with the data. For a while. This is really stupid. Why would the files suddenly be alias files? iPHoto 8 7.5.1

Ah. This explains everything. I cleaned out the downloads folders last week - gone, gone - so the alias points nowhere. And the pref you sent me to? The box was unchecked. Why, I couldn't tell you - I'm the only one who uses this machine, and I certainly didn't do it. But that's happened once in a while, a program suddenly deciding to revert to or change a pref without human help. Or I'm stupid, and did it in my sleep. But that should take care of it. I am sighing. Even if I could get my time machine to boot, it wouldn't help.
Such a simple answer. I want to compliment you, but don't know what to say. You know your business. And now I feel deeply foolish. I'll try importing again and see if it doesn't work now. Which it should. Will you accept a quick kiss on the cheek from an old lady?

You can't install Snow Leopard Remotely. Think about it.
What you could do - and assuming you have OSX Server - is install 10.6 on one mac, get it fully up to date, install the remaining applications - assuming site licenses - use the System Image Utility on the Server (or a Client with the application installed) to create a NetBoot Image of that built workstation. Image the rest using OSX Server's NetBoot Service. I've done numerous site installations using OSX Server and NetBoot (60 and more individual workstations) in a day or two depending on the Software installed.
Not surprisingly there is a dedicated forum for this also:

+" . . . is this a tool that would help obtain our goals quicker that installing all the software on each computer individually."+
Apart from the initial OS install - Yes. You can install incremental OS Updates using ARD easily and quickly. Again if you have OSX Server you can utilise it's Software Update Service to achieve the same thing quickly and easily.
If you don't have OSX Server you can by all means do this the way you're saying. You don't even need to use SuperDuper - why pay for something that can be done for free with what's already supplied? All you need is a firewire cable, target disk mode and the Restore option in Disk Utility. The more firewire cables you have the sooner you'll get it done.
It does not really matter what you're using for your Network although a Time Machine Capsule is adequate enough.

  • Preference and spelling files location

I want to be able to transfer my spelling word additions and autocorrect changes from one computer to another.
Where are the files that hold this information?
    Thank you.
    Scott

The custom dictionary is stored as:
    <startupVolume>:Users:<yourAccount>:Library:Spelling:en
The auto-correction array is stored in the applications preferences files.
Copying these files from a machine to an other one is not a good idea becaus they store informations dedicated to the hosting machine.
