Index creation failed in Business Objects Explorer

Hi,
I installed the Business Objects Explorer ...
But I can not index anything.
When I try to index the following message appears:
"Server, DRWBI001.PolestarIndexing, generated messages The Following:
Index creation failed. File system Polestar exceptions occurred on the server. Search for Polestar ERROR Within the servers log file for more details. (Can not create directory C: \ Program Files \ Business Objects \ BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0 \ win32_x86 \ \ Index \ DRWBI001.PolestarIndexing \ InProgress \ ExplorationIndexes \ 35e98114-4831-A254-8dad-497fd3d4bb26 \-30_10.09.41 2010-06. 564) "
What should I do? help me please

I do not have UNIVERSE.
I'm trying to index files like Microsoft excel.
I have to do some configuration in the CMC to be able to crawl in Business Objects Explorer?

I have built a universe with Designer suits and separate measurements of paramentros and bound by, ran on Web Intelligence, but when I try to use the Business Objects Explorer is reported the following message:

What should I do?

Authorisation in Business Objects Explorer Infospaces created on BEx query

Hello,
We have installed Business Objects Explorer, created Universe on BEx query and created a Explorer Infospace on that universe. everything works fine but the authorisations created for the user in BEx query are not taken into consideration when I login using SAP username "leveraging" SSO.
Is Explorer not designed to consider authorisations in BEX query?
Whats happening during Indexing of an Infospace? Will the system save the data in Business Objects repository from the source of the data?

Hi Suman,
You are right , Explorer is not designed to leverage Authorisations in SAP BW.
Polestar is indexing data and keeping it out side of BW. Although you can log in with SSO , it doesn't check the authorization according to BW, it shows everything indexed.
You can have a workaround if the case is simple such as;
Suppose you have 3 region , you can create 3 infospaces and give these authorizations to users from CMC.
But if you really want to use all features of authorization in BW , it is impossible for now.

BO Polestar XI 3.1 - Index Creation Failed

Hi,
I am using BO Polestar XI 3.1 with a universe on top of BOE XI 3.1, and for some reason I canu2019t index a new space I created.
When I click on the u201Cindexu201D of the relevant space I get the error of u201CIndex Creation Failedu201D

Business Object Explorer + Crystal Report

hi,
i need a way to upload a crystal report in the business object explorer? can anybody solve this problem?

You might take a look at the very latest version of the Crystal Reports Viewer. It might have been added to the report designer as well, but I don't have the latest SP/FP of it yet. CR Viewer 2008 can be downloaded from SAP at no cost and can coexist on PC with the CR designer.

There's a new beta feature -a little button ( magnifying glass and chart, labeled beta) that lets you export the Crystal Report data to a demo of "Explorer in the Cloud". It's pretty cool, but is limited to 3MB of data. You can load your data to the demo Explorer in the Cloud anonymously, in which case the data is seleted when you end your session, or you can setup an acct (no cost) and have the data retained.

Difference between Business Objects Explorer and Polestar

Explorer is the new product name for Polestar. There have been a few versions of Explorer released since it was called Polestar, but you can find the latest 'whats new' doc here which lists the latest additions:

For one, Explorer now comes in two editions... Standard and Accelerated. The Explorer Standard edition allows reporting off of Universes, just as the original Polestar product did. Explorer Accelerated allows reporting off of SAP BWA indexes as well as Business Objects universes. Both versions now allow uploading of excel files to report off of. You can export an Information Space to a Webi doc or Excel file. Users can now save favorite links to an Information Space. Sorting has been improved as well as graphing functions and overall display. You'll have to install the latest build of Explorer - "Explorer 3.2 SP1" and compare. I don't know of a document or matrix that compares Polestar to Explorer. The two are basically the same product with a number of enhancements added to the Explorer line.

Business Objects Explorer XI R3.1 SP1 (Polestar) installer does not start

I am trying to install Business Objects Explorer XI R3.1 SP1 on Business Objects Edge Professional 3.1 on Win2k8 Server, but the installer dialog box disappears once I click "next" on "Configure Web Application Server" dialog box.
Note: When I use "disappear" above, I mean the "setup.exe" disappears from task manager. Also, the installation dialog box disappears from the screen.
I followed the same steps on Business Objects Edge Standard 3.1 and everything ran fine. I also tried to reproduce the issue on Business Objects Enterprise Premium, but it ran fine. All these installations were done on 64 bit win2k8 server.
Any help or tip on this issue would be highly appreciated.

Hi there,
I extracted the files to a different drive and ran the installer from there. It eventually ran fine. I still don't know why it couldn't run from the same drive.
I tried running it from the command line as well, but it failed from there. I raised it to SAP as well which they haven't yet responded to.

Package for Business Objects Explorer

Hello,
can anyone say what the "name" of the package is that we have to order to get access to ASP Business Objects Explorer software?
We want to use the non accelerated version of Explorer first.
I am asking here to speed up the process - I want to give the information to our account manager.

It is sold as an add-on. I don't believe there is a 'package' name specifically. Package names are usually used for the SAP ABAP or JAVA based products. But the product name you're looking for is listed on Service MarketPlace as "SBOP Explorer XI 3.2". The Application Group name is: "SAP BusinessObjects Portfolio"

Invocking Business Objects Explorer from ABAP

hello all,
Is there any class available in ABAP which can be used to invoke BOE from ABAP so that we can pass the data in our internal tables to it and display it visually using business objects explorer.
Is there any other such way in which the data in internal tables can be displayed in form of graphs to the user in ABAP

Integartion of Business objects explorer with ABAP ALV

Hello all,
We have a requirement to integrate one of our applications with business objects explorer. The complete details is as listed below:
1. Our application basically collects feedback provided by users and then displays an ALV with all the feedback ratings received for a topic.
2. It summarizes to the user the average rating received, number of 1star ratings , 2 star ratings etc.,
3. Instead of showing this in the ALV format we have requirement where we want to upload this data into the Business Objects explorer so that the user has a more user-friendly and intutive display of the same data rather than in a ALV.
Any inputs on how we can trigger business objects explorer from ABAP code and pass the data in the internal table used for ALV display to it would be very helpful.

there has been a demo of this by Enterprise Geeks during TechED 2009 and the code is posted on their website.
the other option is to export the data to Excel and then use BusinessObjects Explorer in the cloud for example.

BI Accelerator used in combination with SAP Business Objects Explorer

Hi ,
If you use SAP Netweaver BWA and SAP Business Objects Explorer Blade, do you only get the full benefit with using SAP BO Explorer, or will the same queries ran in BEx 7 Anaylser also benefit from the in memory OLAP processing?
I'm guessing that the SAP BOE Blade will only benefit SAP BOE.
It would be great if the current BWA had the ability to in-memory the OLAP part of the processing, as then it might be worth the hassle of getting it installed.

Business Objects Explorer Information Space Home Screen Customization

Is it possible to customize the display of the list of Information Spaces on the Home screen of Business Objects Explorer such as to sort ascending or descending? Now it's shown as the order when they were created.

Earlier I had some issues with NLS settings in relation to Spatial, but in this particular case setting the NLS_LANG for AMERICAN_AMERICA does not help. I found this comment http://www.orafaq.com/forum/t/127312/2/ but would not like to hack around with MDSYS table content. Any help is highly appreciated.

1 . . .Are you indexing a table that already has geometries or an empty table?
. . . .If the former, do all the geometries in that table have the same (not NULL) SRID (23700)?
2 . .The link you posted suggests a parsing problem since in Hungarian (23700), the decimal seperator is a comma (not a period). Accordingly, I believe the edit to mdsys.sdo_cs_srs.WKTEXT would be:

Business Objects Explorer

I installed the Business Objects explorer, I'm trying to make the settings required to use this feature but I can not.
The procedure was realized the following:
I downloaded the file in service.sap.com / swdc 'SAP BusinessObjects XI 3.1 SP1 WINDOWS EXPLORER ".
On installation I selected all servers ...
Web Application Server components for Apache Tomcat used by BusinessObjects Enterprise automatically.
At the end of the installation checked if the servers were running.
I don't have BW, I will work with the universe.
what configuration should I do to view the service?
how should I proceed?
