Index.jsp page is not working.

hi
i have created one simple webpage and save as index.jsp.
when i upload this file and i check it with URL it gives me file not found.
is there any mistake.
I have used Netbeans 5.5..
when i run this file in NetBeans it is working perfectly. But as i upload and then check on my Firefox browser it gives file not found.
then i saved it as a index.html then it is working perfectly. but with .jsp extension it's not working..
request you to give me suggestions..

think its the problem with URL you have given in browser...
if you have a page in your application named index.html, we can load the page by this URL.....
http://localhost:8080/myapp/
where myapp is the folder where u have index.html
if u r saving it as index.jsp the URL should be like this.
http://localhost:8080/myapp/index.jsp
U have to give the full path of the file in URL...

Why is that?
Is this JSP related or HTML? I thought JSP had something to do with it since it's JSP file.

JSP pages don't work

I'm running Apache Tomcat 5.0 on Windows XP.
JSP pages will not work. Even more amazing is that, when I modify the example JSP pages, the changes are not shown and they run as if they were unmodified.
I have Servlets working fine, but whenever I try to pull up a JSP page I get an error "Unable to compile class for JSP". I have scoured the web for hours and have not found anything that works.

That tells me that your JSP is wrong. It can't be compiled because the code you gave in your JSP is not right. The generated Java code is in work/standalone/localhost. Can you compile this yourself with javac.exe? If not, maybe the compilation errors will give you a clue.

You have a web.xml for every Web app you create, but I usually don't touch the server.xml. What did you change?

Form Based Authentication on Tomcat with custom index.jsp page...

Hi there ppl,
I've got Form Based Authentication working correctly on my Tomcat server but I want to override the default generated index.jsp after successfully logging on. I've tried placing my own index.jsp in the directory that's restricted, but its only overridden by the default one when successfully logged on which displays:
"Authentication Mechanism FORM"
This means having to navigate by typing the url in the address bar to another page which is gets really annoying afterawhile.
Any help on this would be much appreciated,

Yes there's a default generated index.jsp page that I'm having trouble overriding with one of my own. Have you used Form Based Authentication before? To do so you have edit the WEB-INF/web.xml file by adding:

When you attempt to first go to any page in my /test/secure/ directory you get redirected to the /test/secure/loginpage.jsp where you have to login as a tomcat user, when succesfully logged on you get redirected to an index.jsp page which is NOT the one I created in test/secure/index.jsp. Even when I type in the url to go to my own test/secure/index.jsp I still don't get my own one that exists there, but instead get the default one that's generated that displays:
"Authentication Mechanism FORM".
Hope that makes more sense.

I know how to use about:config & have had the usual problems with newtab page tiles but this is more like a bug- using 33.0.1. Doesn't show tiles icon in top right corner just shows a gear that is used to hide the empty tiles that I can't fill with sites. First it would only show 2 rows of 4 columns even though I had it set to 5 & 6 then few days later for no reason they went empty with a serrated line around the tiles & can't drag from the bookmarks---- really bloody annoying!!!!!!! Possibly a setting in the about:config but i can't fig it out?

I make a simple JSF application, I would like to show a DB table in a h:dataTable component and edit a given row after click, but the edit JSP page does not appear. I click the on link in the table, but the list is loaded again and not the edit page...:(

I cant copy/paste from an article to my web site, get a Mozilla Rich Text Editing demo page will not work.HELP

Tried to copy/paste from an article to my web site and got a "cannot copy /paste " warning and was directed to a security perferences site that said that Mozilla Rich Text Editing demo page will not work.
Tried to find my Firefox profile directory using the start menu and was directed to hit enter to go to web. Feel like i am getting run around.

Let's start with something very basic, and that is, you do not need to use the paste button on most websites. The button just reads what is on your clipboard and sticks it into the form. You can do that yourself using Ctrl+v or right-click>Paste.
For your security, I suggest using those standard Windows keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl+x cut, Ctrl+c copy, Ctrl+v paste) or the context menu.
Occasionally you will find a paste button that runs a clean-up script or otherwise does something useful. That is where the (admittedly a bit complicated) instructions come in handy.
To open your active profile folder, you can use:
Help > Troubleshooting Information > "Show Folder" button
Which help article are you using for the modifications?
Finally, please be cautious in opening up your clipboard to sites. You may have stuff you copied from other pages or other programs that you do not want to share with most sites.

Printing only odd/even numbered pages does not work

I've got following problem: Printing only odd/even numbered pages does not work. Not in Preview, nor Adobe Reader. I Don't know why. i'm using a hp Color LaserJet 2550L. I just worked fine, but I cannot remember the time this failing first occured. I really hope the problem will be solved quick and easy.

Mine does not work either. I have trashed prefs, rewrote permissions, ran Disk Utility from a separate HD, etc. and I cannot get this feature to work.
I got 45 odd pages to print last night and now it won't print odd or even pages. I am reduced to printing every backside page one at a time. If I would have known about this problem before I could have saved myself an hour and just printed them all on single sided sheets. I tried to save paper and now I'm screwed (timewise)......
Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Page is not working in serverside but working correctly in JDEV

After deploying the page which is working propely in my local machine JDEV,
its not working same at server side. i bounced apache couple of time.

Pages are working fine in my loacl machine, but whn i compile pages (javacode) at server and running the pages from apps instance, pages are not working correctly. Loging onto my bank I go to the barclays pege there on the top line is "log in" it used to work when I click on it but has stoped, any button on the first three lines of a web page does not work.
I now use Google crome but would like to stay with Firefox if this coruption can be sorted.

Linking between pages is not working for me on mobile devices. Can someone help?

I can get the page linking to work on my desktop machine, but when I preview on mobile devices through Edge Inspect the page does not work. It tells me the page can't be found. Can someone help? - Thanks Robin

Try downloading Reflow Preview 8 that was released yesterday and see if that fixes it. If not can you post the name of the page you are trying to link too and I'll see if I can reproduce it.

"Include Header Row in Subsequent Pages" is not working for table

Hi,
I'm using version 8.1.2.3337.1.509884.
The pagnation feature "Include Header Row in Subsequent Pages" is not working for any table in my design. ( the check-box can not be checked no matter how many times I clicking it)
I put such table already in a flow bodypage.
Any similar issue reported?
Any suggestions?

I totally understand that I have to check the checkbox "Include Header Row in Subsequent Pages".
My problem is that, although I can see that checkbox, and it's not grey-out, I can not tick it. See below screenshot, with the red-cycle mark.
You can try with above file.
Just wondering why such weird behavior happened.

Why do the navigation bar page hyperlinks not work when site is published? There are no objects or boxes over. Works fine until published live. Help!!!

Go back one page does not work

Since I had to reinstall Firefox 3.6.15, the "go back one Page" does not work in many cases. Sometimes by clicking on history and manually returning, it works. Id there a fix for this problem, because it is new.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
