Indexed Dropdown List

Hi, everyone I have this problem:
I created with two dropdown list. One (A) is the master dropdown list for dropdown list(B). If I check "Auto submit on change" on dropdown list (A) and also check "Auto submit on change" on dropdown list (B) the "Auto submit on change script" only works for dropdown (A). Does anyone knows why is that ?

Interesting... perhaps did you set the "required" property on something? If so, try unsetting it...
You could try to isolate which field is having the problem by associated specific message components w/each component.
More questions:
Are these dropdowns filled from a database? Or ?
Do they have any relationship to each other (dropdown2 does something based on dropdown1's selection)?
If filled from a database, do they have converters on them?
If you email me at CreatorFeedback AT sun DOT com I can sent you an example project of coordinated dropdowns... we are still trying to get it ready to post to the web...

      also please tell me how to get the first and the last dates upon selecting the month and year on the dropdown list.

  • Dependency DropDown List for Multiple Rows in Offline Interactive Form

    Hi I have 2 drop down lists.. in one dropdown list I have "Billable" and "Non Billable" , in second Dropdown list we will have Binding values with "Billable".... when we select "Billable" I need to get the data in Second Dropdown list from Database, and when we Select "Non Billable" then Dropdownlist should become a Inputfield (i.e Dropdown should turn to textfield)...and this should happen for each and every row....based on Index value....help me on this.....

    Hi,
    You can create one input text field and make it visible when a user choses non billable option in dropdown 1, using -
    <this>.presence = "visible";
    when billable is chosen from dropdown 1, I can think of two ways.
    - Since you have binding 'billable' options with second dropdown, make it visible when billabile option is chosen.
    - you can also populate the second dropdown using javascript (something like dependent dropdowns) when billable option is chosen.
    if ( this.rawValue == 'billable' )
         seconddropdown =  xfa.resolveNodes("xfa.record.ITAB.DATA[ *]");
         for ( var k = 0; k < seconddropdown.length ; k++)
          <your path>.addItem(seconddropdown.item(j).fieldname.value,seconddropdown.item(j).fieldname.value );   (to populate second dropdown)

  • Combo box vs Dropdown list

    The Java Studio Creator (2004Q2, Update 8) help screen says that Dropdown lists are the same as combo boxes in Swing and Microsoft Windows.
    According to a SUN Java Swing web page, Combo boxes require little screen space, and their editable (text field) form is useful for letting the user quickly choose a value without limiting the user to the displayed values.
    How does one get the Combo box functionality (i.e. editable text field) in Dropdown lists in Creator?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
    Combo boxes are of two types, editable and non editable. Reference to this can be found at:
    http://java.sun.com/products/jfc/tsc/articles/jlf/index.html
    The dropdown list component provided in Creator is a non editable combo box. Also please refer to the Writing custom components for Creator by Edwin Goei available at:
    http://wiki.java.net/bin/view/Javatools/SunJavaStudioCreator
    Hope this helps

    the selected row. The row has field called EAN. This field is formatted as dropdown list. I created i the interface of the form a table and bind the table to this dropdown list field. With my print program i fill the table, generate my form and download it on my pc.
    Now my problem. After download, i open my form and the first row of my table has the first value as content in the field.
    Every thing is right. But if a create a new row, the field is empty. This is also correct. But if i will select a new value from my dropdown list, one value is missing and i got two new blank values in my dropdown list. This runs so on if i create a new row.
    I don´t understand why i lost my values in the dropdown list, when i create a new row.
    I hope anybody of you knows the solution for that.
    For your information, here is my coding to add the new row:
    data.#subform[0].FORM.DATA.DATA_ITEMS.I_DATA.STRUC.Teilformular1.Schaltfläche1::click - (JavaScript, client)
    // xfa.host.print(1, "0", (xfa.host.numPages -1).toString(), 0, 0, 0, 0, 0);
    var anInstanceManager = this.parent.parent.instanceManager;
    var newInstance = anInstanceManager.addInstance(1);
    var aToIndex = this.parent.parent.index + 1;
    var aFromIndex = newInstance.index;
        anInstanceManager.moveInstance(aFromIndex, aToIndex);}
    Regards
    Barney

    Hi Sanoosh!
    Thanks for your advice!
    I already bound the field for the dropdown list to a different node than the datatable.
    So that is also a fact that i don´t understand. When i have a different data node, why
    is it possible to fill or overwrite data from a different data node!
    Regards!

    I'm having trouble filling the dropdown lists that I have in a table control.
    In the PAI, I'm filling the dropdown lists with the correct information. The problem is, that all of the dropdown lists (rows) are being filled with the same information.
    How I'm able to identify an specific field name of a row? (I think that is the problem).  Please any help solving this would be greatly appreciated.

  • Capture item by Dropdown list in Interactive Form

    Hi experts,
    I have a problem. I hope to get your suggestion ready.
    I created a WebDynpro Abap that contains within it an Adobe Interactive Forms.
    With the method wddoinit by the component controller I set all values of the fields into interactive forms correctly.
    Inside the form there is a dropdown list which is bind to a table, the list of this dropdown list is filled with properly values of the table which is bind.
    When I select a value from the list dropdown I can not capture the selected item by the table corresponding of the data.
    Carryover below the code I use to recover (unsuccessfully) the values selected by list dropdown:
    DATA:
        node_adobe_data   TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_node,
        node_it0002       TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_node,
        node_stato_civile TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_node,
        elem_stato_civile TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_element,
        stru_stato_civile TYPE wd_this->element_stato_civile.
    navigate from <CONTEXT> to <ADOBE_DATA> via lead selection
      node_adobe_data = wd_context->get_child_node( name =  wd_this->wdctx_adobe_data ).
    navigate from <ADOBE_DATA> to <IT0002> via lead selection
      node_it0002 = node_adobe_data->get_child_node( name =  wd_this->wdctx_it0002 ).
    navigate from <IT0002> to <STATO_CIVILE> via lead selection
      node_stato_civile = node_it0002->get_child_node( name =  wd_this->wdctx_stato_civile ).
    get element via lead selection
      elem_stato_civile = node_stato_civile->get_lead_selection( ).
    get single attribute
      elem_stato_civile->get_static_attributes(
        IMPORTING
         static_attributes = stru_stato_civile ).
    The problem persist also if I use the method GET_LEAD_SELECTION_INDEX.
    The return value always is the first item and not what I selected.
    I wait trusting your suggestions to solve the problem.
    Regards.

    Hi Davide,
    Maybe you can try to keep your own Index parameter (Integer) to keep track of the selected index.
    Then use that parameter to select data from your node:
    node_stato_civile->get_static_attributes(
        exporting
          index             = wd_this->lv_index
        importing
          static_attributes = stru_stato_civile
    Hope this helps.

  • Change image when form dropdown list value is selected

    I really thought this would be simpler but I just can't get it working.
    I have a submit from from paypal with a dropdown list. The list allows you to select color. I want to change an image on the page to display the appropriate color when the color is selected from the drop down list. So a black image shows up when black is selected, a red when red - etc...
    I would be very grateful if someone can share some succinct, browser compatible code. Thank you so much for any help you can provide.
    Bill

    Thanks so much.  I used your info from above and am in the process of creating a product configurator for our products.  Do you see any problems/issues etc or ways to make this script better?  I don't have most of the images there yet, but if you choose big boy chair and then choose navy/powder/black fabric and most accent colors you should see it working (in FireFox anyway).  Not sure why it isn't working in IE.  Any ideas?

  • Email change from dropdown list

    I have looked at the other threads on this subject and discovered I am a complete moron when it comes to doing this.
    can anyone give me a step by step guide on what I need to do to my dropdown list.  if any of the first 5 options are choosen, then the email address will be set to A and any of the last 5 options choosen, email will be B.
    I'm sure I am making this harder than it needs to be

    The DDList has a selectedIndex property. This tells you which index was selected (not it is a 0 based index).
    So you could write script on the exit event that would do something like this:
    if (this.selectedIndex < 4){
         send email to userA
    } else {
         send email to userB

        <li><a href="managementteam.html">MANAGEMENT TEAM</a></li>
      </ul>
    If anyone could help it would be much appreciated.
    Thanks all!

    You, essentially, have an issue with float: left;
    Here's the deal, when you float list items left, they'll line up to the left, even though your navigation is centered.
    They have also done this website in a manner that does not line up with what the W3C considers a standard for websites, but that's another issue.
    Here's their HTML:
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" />
    <title>wanted</title>
    <link href="wanted.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
    </head>
    <body>
    <div id="page">
    <div id="head">
      <div style="width:100%; float:left;">
        <div id="name2"></div>
        <div id="name1"></div>
      </div>
      <div id="slogan"></div>
    </div>
    <div id="top"><a class="topsel1" href = "http://sdhmarketing.co.uk/index.php">HOME</a><a class="top1" href = "http://sdhmarketing.co.uk/who.php">OUR CLIENT TYPES</a><a class="top1" href = "http://sdhmarketing.co.uk/what.php">WHAT DO YOU NEED?</a><a class="top1" href = "http://sdhmarketing.co.uk/case_studies.php">CASE STUDIES</a><a class="top1" href = "http://sdhmarketing.co.uk/team.php">MANAGEMENT TEAM</a> </div>
    <div id="maintop"></div>
    </body>
    </html>
    Now, here's the problem. They have one line with all of their navigation. So they started out with (on the same line):
    HOME OUR CLIENT TYPES WHAT DO YOU NEED? CASE STUDIES MANAGEMENT TEAM
    Then, they selected each menu item and gave it a style and a link. That's pretty bad practice, because how do you manage that? Also, how do blind people figure out it's a navigation? Also, what if you want sub-menus?
    But you like how it's pretty and I respect that.
    This is how to really do it:
    HTML:
    <div id="top">
    <ul>
              <li>HOME</li>
        <li>OUR CLIENT TYPES</li>
        <li>WHAT DO YOU NEED?</li>
        <li>CASE STUDIES</li>
              <li>MANAGEMENT TEAM</li>
    </ul> <!--ends the list -->
    </div> <!--ends top -->
    You see here, I have an Unordered List for my navigation. Because it's an unordered list, I can easily add new items, add sub-lists (drop-down menus) and really make this puppy sing. Unfortunately, when you look at this with no style, you'll see something pretty boring and it won't be horizontal. We change all of that in the style sheet.
    First, before we do anything else, we'll make everything into a link. We can change those links later on when we build the rest of our pages.
    <ul>
              <li><a href="#">HOME</a></li>
        <li><a href="#">OUR CLIENT TYPES</a></li>
        <li><a href="#">WHAT DO YOU NEED?</a></li>
        <li><a href="#">CASE STUDIES</a></li>
              <li><a href="#">MANAGEMENT TEAM</a></li>
    </ul> <!--ends the list -->
    An hash "#" is a link that simply calls the page you are on. It's a bona-fide link and it will create what you want.
    Now, we need to set up styles.
    Let's set up the list by getting rid of bullet points (the default) and give it a little padding:
    Make a new style sheet, call it how-to.css. It will be blank so we'll add a style. We will need to link to it from our HTML page, so add the following to the <head> section:
    <link href="how-to.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
    Now, we make a blank CSS page and we call it how-to.css. Put it in the root of your defined site in Dreamweaver for now. And we'll define list objects within the div they naked top:
    #top li {
              display: inline;
              list-style-type: none;
              padding-right: 20px;
    Now, you'll see that our list is suddenly horizontal! Cool! But links are blue by default and underlined. Did we want that? No. So let's style links:
    #top a {
              float:left;
              padding: 5px 20px 2px 20px;
              font-size: 13px;
              height:23px;
              color:#506F1A;
              display: block;
              letter-spacing: -0.2px;
              font-weight: bold;
              text-decoration: none;
    Now, I'm borrowing heavily from their styles here.
    But we have to set up the #top framework and here's that (it should go before everything else in your style sheet)
    #top {
              width:990px;
              padding:0px 10px 0px 0px;
              height:35px;
              margin:0px 0 0 0;
              background-image: url("navbg.jpeg");
              background-repeat: repeat-x;
    Now, it's just about done. They used an Arial typeface and the default is Times Roman. Let's add a little more to the #top id:
    Now let's make backgrounds change when we hover and when we have one selected.
    #top a:hover {
              background-color: #444;
              color: #fff;
    And make a background behind the page you are on, with a hover:
    .selected {
              background-color:#777777;
              color:white !important;
    .selected a:hover {
              background-color: #444;
              color: #fff;
    Now you're pretty much done.
    Here is how to style the entire thing in CSS:
    #top {
              width:990px;
              padding:0px 10px 0px 0px;
              height:35px;
              margin:0px 0 0 0;
              background-image: url("navbg.jpeg");
              background-repeat: repeat-x;
              font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
    #top li {
              display: inline;
              list-style-type: none;
              padding-right: 20px;
    #top a {
              float:left;
              padding: 10px 20px 5px 20px;
              font-size: 13px;
              height:26px;
              color:#506F1A;
              display: block;
              letter-spacing: -0.2px;
              font-weight: bold;
              text-decoration: none;
              margin-top: -5px;
    #top a:hover {
              background-color: #444;
              color: #fff;
    .selected {
              background-color:#777777;
              color:white !important;
    .selected a:hover {
              background-color: #444;
              color: #fff;

  • Combobox or Dropdown list not working in AIR 2.7 for Mobile Applications

    Hey,
    I want to use combobox or a dropdown list in my app for Mobile.It is coming properly on the screen.but when I try to select the thing from the list it doesnt gets clicked and the new value is not getting displayed on the dropdown.
    Previously I was using older version of AIR.but now am using AIR 2.7.
    So is AIR 2.7 creating a problem???
    Thanks in advance.
    Ronak Shah

    ComboBox and DropDownList don't work on mobile devices.  It has to do with the differences between touch interfaces and mouse interfaces.  You'd have to extend / modify the components a bit and I would recommend creating custom skins optimized for mobile devices.
    Or you can just use the ones I already optimized:  https://www.flextras.com/index.cfm?event=ProductHome&productID=21

  • SSRS report - A single selection dropdown list converted to text box

    Hello everyone,
    We created a single selection dropdown parameter (City parameter) on a report. The data in this parameter is populated using MDX query. Also, it is filtered based on selection of another single selection dropdown list (Country parameter) of a report.
    The problem is when there is no cities for the selected country the dropdown list is gets converted to free type text box and user can insert city data in it. Why SSRS is not keeping it as empty dropdown list with no data?
    Any help would be much appreciated.

    Hello Charlie,
    We developed a fresh report only with two parameters but still the dropdown control gets converted to text box in our case. We have two single selection parameters, Location and Customers. Based on selected Location the customer
    dropdown gets populated.
    Location Parameter Query
    WITH MEMBER [Measures].[ParameterCaption] AS [Location].[Location Name].CURRENTMEMBER.MEMBER_CAPTION MEMBER [Measures].[ParameterValue] AS [Location].[Location Name].CURRENTMEMBER.UNIQUENAME MEMBER
    [Measures].[ParameterLevel] AS [Location].[Location Name].CURRENTMEMBER.LEVEL.ORDINAL
    SELECT {[Measures].[ParameterCaption], [Measures].[ParameterValue], [Measures].[ParameterLevel]} ON COLUMNS , [Location].[Location Name].ALLMEMBERS ON ROWS FROM [Model]
    Customer Query
    WITH MEMBER [Measures].[ParameterCaption] AS
    [Customer].[Customer Name].CURRENTMEMBER.MEMBER_CAPTION
    MEMBER [Measures].[ParameterValue] AS
    [Customer].[Customer Name].CURRENTMEMBER.UNIQUENAME
    MEMBER [Measures].[ParameterLevel] AS [Customer].[Customer Name].CURRENTMEMBER.LEVEL.ORDINAL
    SELECT {[Measures].[ParameterCaption], [Measures].[ParameterValue], [Measures].[ParameterLevel],[Measures].[Amt]} ON COLUMNS,
    nonempty([Customer].[Customer Name].ALLMEMBERS,[Measures].[Amt]) ON ROWS FROM ( SELECT ( STRTOSET(@LocationName, CONSTRAINED) ) ON COLUMNS FROM [Model])
    Regarding parameter settings on General tab for both the above parameters we did not select any of the following values, all these checkboxes are empty:
    Allow Blank Value ("") , Allow null value, Allow multiple values.
    I think it has something related to [Measures].[Amt] that we used in customer parameter. We are now trying to take other two parameters where we would be not using the [Measures].[Amt] to filter the data. Will update you soon.
    Thanks, Ankit Shah

  • How to create a dropdown list to list the values from two different tables?

    Hi,
    I have the following requirement:
    1. I have to create a dropdown list to display all the values from the second column of  a table.
    2. Another dropdown list to display all the values from the second column of another table.
    3. A text box should help me to add the selected values.
    How to get this done in a PDF? Please help.
    Regards,
    Latha

    Is this a LC form? Because Acrobat forms have no concept of tables, just
    individual fields...
