Indexing not working correctly in desktop version

We have a tool which generates output as a PDF document. One of our customers has a requirement for this output to be indexed so that they can browse using the bookmark menu at the left of the screen.
When viewing the output document in a browser window (I use FireFox) the links work correctly, and link to the correct page. When saving the file however, and opening it in the desktop version of Reader (typically by double-clicking), the index fails to link to the correct page.
Further investigation reveals a spill-over pagebreak between pages 2 and 3 of our output, and this is what the desktop version of Reader is not picking up when generating its index. The FireFox plugin version picks it up fine.
Our workaround is obviously to tell our customers to open their saved output in their browser window, but this is an issue that needs fixing nonetheless.

Sadly, mentioning things in a forum isn't a report and the chances of Adobe staff seeing it or acting on it are negligible. There is a bug report forum. This does seem to get to Adobe (though they never seem to reply or acknowlege). Clearly an actual bug report would need to give a specific problem PDF, describe what it does, and describe what you think it SHOULD do.
That said, I don't think you are describing a bug. The behaviour of links in Adobe Reader is quite well understood, and there is nothing to fix. Links are always to a rectangular region of the page, and Reader always makes that rectangle visible. It sounds as if your software is generating links that are not making the best use of a rectangle. You say "when Reader is...generating its index" and that rather baffles me. Reader doesn't generate indexes. The index is already present and fixed in the PDF.

Certain websites do not load correctly, the webpage sometimes does not display. Upgraded to current version of Java, this did not solve the problem. I have two custom folders in Admin that are joined. One of the folders contains the following query:

I want my workbook to report the earliest meter reading that exists, based on the date that is specified in the parameters in Desktop. When I create a parameter for the date, the workbook reports the earliest reading in the database; it ignores the date restriction entered in the parameter. This is the parameter:
First Read Date MIN BETWEEN :First Reading Date and SYSDATE
If I include the date condition in the SQL of the custom folder the workbook functions exactly as it should. The date condition is in the SQL as the following:
and current_reading_date between '01-JAN-2007' and SYSDATE
Since the workbook functions correctly when the condition is coded in the SQL but not when it is based on a parameter, I assume the problem is with the parameter. Any ideas on how I may correct this?

Thanks for the response Michael. I tried using the MIN function as you suggested, but I still am not getting the expected result. I’m not sure that I was clear in my initial problem description. I will try to provide more detail with this post.
The reason I have two custom folders is that my original query has a nested Select statement (EAMV) and I couldn’t find a way to pass the parameter from EAMV to Discoverer. Following is the original query. I suppose the first logical questions would be, is there a way to pass the parameter to Discoverer? Would this alleviate the need for the second custom folder?

Using this query I want to show the most recent reading (current reading) and then give users the flexibility to enter an earlier date so the earliest reading as of that date will also show. For example, if they enter 1-JAN-2007 as the parameter and there was a reading taken on 2-JAN-07 and 28-JAN-07, the report should show the 2-JAN-2007 reading (in addition to the most recent reading in a separate column). Currently, everything on the report displays correctly, except for the reading based on the parameter.

The Publish to Responsive HTML5 function escapes these correctly in the main body of the text but does not work correctly in either the Contents or the Index of the generated HTML. In the Contents the words are completely missing and in the index entries the '\' characters that are required in the markers remain in the entry but the leading less than symbol and the first character of the word is deleted; hence what should appear as <dataseries> appears as \ataseries\>. I believe this is a FMv12 bug. Has anyone else experienced this? Is the FM team aware and working on a fix. Any suggestions for a workaround?

The Index issue is more complicated since in order to get the < and > into the index requires the entry itself to be escaped. So, in order to index '<x2settings>' you have to key '\<x2settings\>'. Looking at the generated index entry in the .js file we see '<key name=\"\\2settings\\>\">. This is a bit of a mess and produces an index entry of '\2settings\>'. This ought to be '<key name=\"&lt;x2settings&gt;\" >'. I have tested this fix and it works - but the worst of it is that the first character of the index entry has been stripped out. Consequently I cannot fix this with a few global changes - and I have a lot of index entries of this type. I'm looking forward to a response to this since I cannot publish this document in its current state.

First, iDVD is not and never has been part of OS X. If iDVD is not working correctly, then you should investigate possible problems with that application, support files, preferences, or cache.
Of course you can always reinstall OS X if you wish:

If i type in on my iPhone just westfieldsautocentre.co.uk . it is redirect the home page from my desktop to the mobile homepage but not sizing the page correctly as per mobile site should do,
but upload the same site to a fresh BC site all is ok,
From that i can see its something to do with my domain name link to my site.
But do not understand what "redelegate your domain name to point to your site on Business Catalyst" means.
Is there anyway you can put this in more simple terms that a car mechanic can understand or should i keep to repairing cars

I would like to use the Hallo World depending on the page attribute isFrame with or without all the neccessary html tags. Therefore i have embedded the htmlb tags in an if statement. But for any reason if isframe is initial it isn't working. It would be great if anybody could help me.

The short answer: your example is NOT going to work. The long answer will probably 5 pages to describe. So first let me rewrite the example so that it could work, and then give a short version of the long answer. Do not be disappointed if it is not totally clear. It is rather complicated. You can see that your ENDIF statements are closing IF blocks generated by the BSP compiler. Such a nesting will not work. This is a very short form of the problem, there are a number of variations, and different types of the same problem.
The only way to solve this problem, is probably to put the body into a page fragment and include it like I did above with the duplicate HelloWorld strings. But this duplicates source code. Better is to put body onto a view, that can be processed as required.

Key Figure calculation in Abap is not working correctly - Overlooping

I wrote a logic to calculate the ratio of key figure but it is not working correctly
For example I have a requirement to split 1 Product into Several new Products and also the Net Amount will be splitted to these several new products as well. The total Amount of the new product will be equivalent to the Net Amount.
So far my Logic is splitting the product to several new products but the amount is incorrect as the calculation is over looping.
Sample
A PRODUCT has Net Amount 1000. And this product needs to be splitted into 3 new products. Each of this new product is assigned a ratio of 0.3, 0.2 and 0.7 respectively. total sum of the ratio is 1.
PRODUCT1 0.3 = 1000 * 0.3 = 300
PRODUCT2 0.2 = 1000 * 0.2 = 200
PRODUCT3 0.7 = 1000 * 0.7 = 700
The total amount of this new products is 1000.
Now my logic is working this way.

PRODUCT2 0.2 = 1000 * 0.2 * 0.3 = 60
PRODUCT3 0.7 = 1000 * 0.2 * 0.3 * 0.7 = 42

Email pushing not working correctly for office email - 3 seperate devices/carriers

We switched email hosts several months ago and since our email pushing has not worked correctly. Our host/IT guy has been very unwilling to help me through this (I get the pleasure of being the in-house IT source)
I personally am on AT&T have no problems with the other 3 emails I have set up on my blackberry. However I receive my work account one time a day at roughly 6:15. Another user is on Alltel and he receives spotty emails throughout the day, but his gmail account comes through instantly. The third user is on nextel and he receives his 2-3 times per day.
I began to think this was an email host issue since the three of us are all on different carriers, until I found out a fourth user, also on nextel, receives his emails fine.
Users 1-3 are on Outlook 07 on various versions of the Curve. We have all our messages to stay on the server.
User 4 is on the older nextel blackberry push to talk, and is not on outlook.
We do not have an exchange server. Our emails were all set up through our devices.
Any suggestions? The answers I have received through our carriers is to make sure that our messages are set to be left on the server. Everyone else at the office has given up - but for me this is the quest for the Holy Grail.......I'm determined find the answer!

Potential solution for windows for a side-by-side install. This works for me.
To setup a firefox install side by side so that links from external programs (like email) can open (so you don't get a "Firefox is already running but is not responding" message) do the following.
The solution entails the use of the -no-remote switch. Don't use it for the default browser. Use it for the non default browser.
I'll use firefox 3.6 and firefox 4.0 as examples but this should work for future versions.
+ Install firefox 3.6 and Firefox 4.0 in different directories. Eg.
C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe
C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox 4\firefox.exe
+ Open profile manager. Start > Run : firefox.exe -ProfileManager
+ In profile manager create Two Profiles.

+ In profile manager select firefox 4 as your default (assuming you want to default to the latest) and tick "Don't ask at startup"
+ Create two windows shortcuts.
* General: Mozilla Firefox 4 (default). Shortcut > Target: "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox 4\firefox.exe". Shortcut > Start In: "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox 4"
* General: Mozilla Firefox 3.6. Shortcut > Target: "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -p firefox3.6 -no-remote. Shortcut > Start In: "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox"
That's it. Links from external programs should now open in your default browser.

Screen Not Working Correctly- Horizontal Lines

For the past few weeks, when I open my computer, sometimes the bottom half of my screen is just a lot of lines or is not working correctly. Sometimes if I tilt the screen enough, it will go away. But I don't know what to do!

First step in user troubleshooting is to turn the phone off and back on. If that doesn't help, then a reset. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The phone will restart. If this does not solve it, then a restore from backup, and finally if necessary, a restore as a new device.
You do not indicate what iPhone version you have. You also do not say if the phone has been dropped or any user damage to the screen. If anything, you can make an appointment with the Apple Store Genius bar to get the hardware checked.

System Update not working correctly

Hi forum,
System Update (Version 4.00.0024) is not working correctly on my T500 with Windows 7.
1: Not detecting old versions
SU is not detecting, that there is an old version of Access Connection (5.42) installed although there is a new version 5.50 avaliable. I had to do a manual update.
2: Not installing a suggested update
Each time I run SU, I get a suggested update for "Fix for Issue of HDD with HDP Detection for Windows Vista/7". After downloading there comes a meaningless message "package was not installed" (Paket wurde nicht installiert). No hint for any error.
3: Some drivers (e.g. for the ultranav) have not been downloaded at all - I had to test the functions of some hardware components and download the appropriate drivers manually in case of malfuncion.
Probably there is a solution known within the forum community, at least this should be a message to lenovo (I received no response from the help desk when reporting this finding).
