Indication of documents about Inventory management in BW

H
I've got this excellent document "How to handle inventory management scenarios in BW". Very clear, easy to understand.
I'd like to go into more details about 2LIS_03_BX (initialization of the current stock), compression of requests and marker update.
Does anyone have indication of other documents that deal with these subjects?
Thanks in advance

  • Inventory Management with u0091Material Document No.u0092 and u0091Purchase order No.'

    Hello,
We have defined Inventory Management InfoCube analog to 0IC_C03 without ‘Material Document No.’ (R3 Field MBLNR) and ‘Purchase order number’ (R3 Field EBELN). We are loading the data from standard extractor 2LIS_03_BX, 2LIS_03_BF and 2LIS_03_UM. It works fine. We have alreday read the whitepaper “Inventory Scenarios in BW”.
    Question:
Now the ‘Material Document No.’ and ‘Purchase order number’ have to report in BEx. As ODS can not be built in Inventory Management, so we can’t include these fields in ODS and update data from ODS into another InfoCube with Document No. or order number.
We don’t want to include these fields Document No. and Order number. in existing InfoCube because of performance reason.
Could you tell me how we can implement such a scenario?
    Thanks for the answer.

    perhaps check

Scenario: Inventory Management- Printing Physical Inventory Document using Smart Forms
I could found out that there is no standard smart form linked to Transaction MI21(Program-RM07IDRU). There is a sapscript ((INVNET) assigned to this transaction, but my requirement is to assign customized smartform to this transaction. If it is not possible to assign smart form to pgm then is it possible to through enhancement. If yes then let me know the enhancement as there are lot of enhancement in the pgm RM07IDRU.
If you have any solution then kindly mentioned it.
    Looking forward for kind help.
    Regards
    Amit

Check out with your SD guy if the items in billing doc have correct pricing conditions triggered.
From the description it looks like some customizing issue.
Otherwise revert back with the logic how are you trying to get the net value of item.

  • How to use price list in inventory management documents (without SO module)

    Hi all
I want to setup sales prices for items and I am using inventory management module of jd edwards enterpriseone.
Is there any possibility in which I can use the sales price items functionality.
So after I enter the sales price for each items in specific conditions, is there any possibility for these prices to be automatically shown anytime I enter a inventory issue or any other document which has to do with the issuing of the items.
    Please suggest
    thank you and best regards
    Ernest

    Hello,
You can setup Item Sale price through the P4106 application in inventory management. But since your requirement is quite customised, Inventory Issue dont have such functionality to populate Item Sale Price when you are issuing items eventhough you create/change doctype. It will only be populate Item Cost and Extended cost.

  • About archiving BW Inventory Management cubes

    Hi everyone!
I would like to know what a marker in Inventory Management (BW) is. This question comes from the following: I need to archive a IM cube, and it presents the following option:
    Stocks:
    Only transactions
    Transactions and Markers
I don't know what a marker is, so I'm kinda lost here...
Any help would be greatly appreciated (and rewarded, ofc!).
    Best Regards,
    Luís.

    Hi,
Marker is fairly simple, you will get the details also on help.sap.com with more detailed explanation.
In a brief here is what i can tell you :
    1. The marker is set on a specific date and the value of the inventory KF( NON CUMULATIVE KF) the value on that particular date is stored in the cube.
    2. Since Inventory is working on the non cumulative method the difference is calculated since DAY 1. but with Marker the difference is calculated from the day of marker.
Hence it helps in retrieving faster results.
Let me know if you want more information.

  • Inventory management with SnapShots

    Hi
I've got this document, "How to handle inventory management scenarios in BW".
It's generally very clear, no problem to understand the standard solution (0IC_C03, non-cumulatives).
But I really didn't understand the explanation about Snapshot on the monthly positions.
So I ask someone to explain how does the concept work.
    Example:
The document refers to material movements in 01.2004 and 03.2004.
    Question 1:
What are the values posted to the DSO and to the InfoCube after initial load (after the first load of datasources BX and BF/UM) ???
Will we have registers to 01.2004, 02.2004, 03.2004 and 12.9999, both in the DSO and in the InfoCube ?
    How does month 12.9999 work?
    Question 2:
What are the values posted to the DSO and to the InfoCube after the second BF load?
    Let's suppose 2 movements in 04.2004 and 2 movements in 05.2004.
Will we add registers to 04.2004 and 05.2004 both in the DSO and in the Cube?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Regarding inventory management

    Hi,
I have documnet How To Handle Inventory Management Scenarios in BW
    Version 1.3 – January 2005.
But it gives the details about 3.5 version. If i want to implemnet in 7.0 what all i need?
also i w2as trying to find the 'No marker update' option and all in 7.0 but coudnt find the same. Is thr so much difference in implementing INVENTORY in 7.0
    *Please help.

    Hi Jino,
    Briefly,
    a) Single Step transfer: -
this comes in STO, while transfer material between plants.
if you tick the indicator as one step in config,
Generally, when you do the PGI for material from supply plant to receiving plant, goods issue document will generate in Issuing plant.
Similarly goods receipt (GR)document  generate in receiving plant.
in One step procedure, GR will create automatically in background after you do PGI.
where as in Two Step Plant Transfer. AFter PGI, you have to create GR-MIGO also.
Hope it clears.  Try and let me know

  • Prod issue with Inventory management in BW ..please help

    hi Folks
i am new into inventory management extraction into BW. i have read all the document regarding the extraction. My question is
    1. what all the comon produciton issues you wil come across when you do the inventory management
    2. what is the dificlut challenge you face during extraction and validation
    3. what all things you need to consider or keep in mind while doing this process
    4. what is pros and cons of this process ..any bettar way to improve this process?
please shoot me your thougths ..which will helpfull for my new task..

    My Dear Friend...
Typical Steps for refreshing your understanding :
    1. Transfer Business Content Datasources 2LIS_03_BX , 2LIS_03_BF, AND 2LIS_03_UM in RSA5.
    2. Go to Transaction LBWE, Activate Datasources 2LIS_03_BF, AND 2LIS_03_UM.
    3. Go to Transaction MCB_ select SAP BW usage 'Standard' Radio button.
    4. Save it.
    5. Go to Transaction MCNB, enter name of run ‘Stock_init’. Enter Termination date in future. Enter Datasource as 2LIS_03_BX.
    6. Execute the initialization.
    7. Entries can be found in SETUP Table MC03BFSETUP & MC03BFSETUP.
    8. Run SETUP for 2LIS_03_BF, AND 2LIS_03_UM using TCodes OLI1BW and OLIZBW respectively.
ALWAYS LOAD in order as BX datasource first then BF datasource and then UM datasource in cube
    9. Run the extraction for 2LIS_03_BX in BW.
    10. Compress the request with ‘No Marker Update’ NOT SET i.e. unticked or unchecked.
    11. Run the extraction for 2LIS_03_BF in BW.
    12. Compress the request with ‘No Marker Update’ SET i.e. ticked or checked.
    13. Run the extraction for 2LIS_03_UM in BW.
    14. Compress the request with ‘No Marker Update’ SET i.e. ticked or checked.
Steps 1 and 2 shall be executed in Development and transported to production and step 3 onward should be carried out in Production itself with posting Block.
And about Reconcilitation of data ...Count the number of records in R/3 in particular table and check with BW is its matching...When you request in Detail Tab you can find the number of records...
Then check if the balances are matching in R/3 and BW...saying for ex: Check opening Stock for today in both the systems...
If you follow the process properly I dont think you will face any issues...I havent ever seen any complication in Inventory loading...Dont worry...Just follow the typical LO Extraction steps...All Good

  • Inventory management senerios difference

    Hi expert,
I am refering to the comman documents available for implementing inventory, as i am new to the inverntory, and have to propose the fesibility of implementing the inventory part,
i dont have the functional deep knowlege about the inventory,
In the document it says about the non cummulative senerio and the snap shot with cummulative,
i am not able to catch up with the terms used in explaining the use of senerious,
So can any one tell me,
    1) Dose it depend on the implemantation process been handled by the functional consultant for customising the inventory in the ECC system for opting for the senerio's of implementing inventory management on BW side, ?
or it is entirly dependent on the performance base and the advantages and disadvantages ?
    2) As it is a fresh implementation and we have lack of resources also, i am the only one, i want to avoid all the complex situatuion which could consume time, basically the coding part, etc,
I want to make it as simple as possible with following the neccessary steps to be taken as mentioned in documents,
So can anyone sujjest on that too ?
    Thanks

    hi
    1.
Processes in the area of Inventory Management address the recording and tracking of materials on a quantity and value basis. This includes planning, entry, and documentation of stock movements such as goods receipts, goods issues, physical stock transfers, and transfer postings as well as the performance of physical inventory (stocktaking).
Warehouse Management Processes cover warehouse-internal movements and storage of materials.
    2.
SAP Warehouse Management allows you to manage your material flow, using advanced putaway and picking strategies. In the standard system, these strategies for putaway include random putaway (next empty bin), bulk storage, fixed bin, or addition to stock. The picking strategies include standard strategies first-in first-out (FIFO), last-in first-out (LIFO), picking by shelf life expiration date (SLED), or partial quantities first. For customer-specific strategies, solutions can be self-defined in user exits.
    3.
While Inventory Management manages the stocks by quantity and value, the Warehouse Management component reflects the special structure of a warehouse, and monitors the allocation of the storage bins and any transfer transactions in the warehouse.

  • New Goods Movement Type for Inventory Manager

    Hi Guys,
I need to change a goods movement code used on Mobile App Inventory Manager 4.0 to a custom (Z) goods movement code, the fileds are the same so I thought changing the constant will work for this as we do a GoodReceipt with no reference to Purchase nor Production order (gmCode = 501) with a custom, copied from standard, Movement type gmCode = 950 (this is a well known practice on ERP). I have changed only the global constant on my copied IM application, for testing purpose and the local GR was created with gmCode = 950 instead of gmCode = 501, but when I was transmiting in order to create goods movement document on SAP, the application throws an error like: "PostReceiptsSteplet - Goods Movement Impossible with good movement type 950 - Server error". So I would like to know first:
If is it possible to include or change the standard gmCode for custom gmCode on mobile app Inventory Manager 4.0?
What would it be the Best Practice to do this? The steps to include a custom movement type, now I know is not only changes on global constants
I have checked the java doc for this method "PostReceiptsSteplet", and it did not say anything about the constructor .... or how is used... what has inside... what is the condition of execution.... nothing ...

If those java source code are so troublesome to request... why should I request them if I won't change the app's base functionality??. Instead of requesting those java source code, the documentation of the java doc should improve, well the documentation in general for this app should improve ... Is only a suggestion ... I'm trying very hard not to ask for those source code, because what Mark Pe  answer me on another post: If I ask for them, a disclamer must be signed because I could change a base functionality... and that's perfectly fine. But if I need to extend a class and add a few field: why do I need to ask for the code instead of checking the documentation and apply the customization needed?
Now I have some trouble extending a SAPOBJECT, because I don't quite understand the design of how you manage MaterialDocument / MaterialDocumentItem on the app. But I will post this question on another thread
