Individual Business Groups

We have existing financials running with a Business Group (not the set up BG).
Now we are implementing HR & Payroll. I know we should use the same business group.
But is it something worng, if we define a separate new BG for HRMS implementation (Though we have sparate BG for Finacials & HRMS, the SOB is one & the same). What kind of impacts will it have considering the transfer to GL, approval process in Financials, etc.

First thing for one legislation it is advisable to use one BG
Please let us know why you are planning to create the Separate Business Group and is there any specific business Reason for that..
If you define a separate business group then all your transaction will reside in this New Business group only. You cannot use the employees in the new BG for any PO approvals or other transaction in a Different BG
Yes you can see the employees across BG by enable cross Business Group
Also Oracle recommends to have one BG per legislation

  • EEO setup with multiple GRE's associated to Business Group

    Hi,
    I am looking to setup EEO report for a business group that has multiple GRE's. There are multiple locations rolling up to the GRE.
    How can I setup EEO Generic Hierarcy so that I can get each Location as an establishment report and a consolidated report on the GRE.
    Parent Org has a Business group classification and the individual GRE have GRE/Legal Entity classification.
    If I setup Generic Hierarchy with Business Group Org as a Parent Entity and GRE's as Establishment then all the locations defined are summed up to the Establishment. This does not work for me as I am looking to report on each location as an Establishment.
    Alternativeuly I cannot add GRE classification to Business Group Org or Business Group classification to GRE.
    Any help woudl be appreciated.

    If you are in R12 then there is no more relation between GRE and Ledger, OU
    GRE is independent and only for the HR.
    You need to look at the Accounting legal entity which is tied to the ledger, which interm tied to the business group.
    If you build global hierarchy in HR, there is no impact on the ledger or to anyother non HR modules.
    You can use MOAC for the other modules

  • Multiple Business Group Setting in R12

    Hi
    I have Created a multi BG structure where two business groups(UK&US) representing two different countries report to a single BG(IND) of other country. Both the BGs(UK&US) are having individual Org Hierarchies in respective responsibilities. While subordinating these BGs to main BG(IND) in Global Hierarchy, is it mandatory that we have to difine the entire structure(org hierarchy) for each BG? Instead, can we attach the org hierarchies that are previously defined for each BG to the hierarchy of main BG(IND).
    If any one help me in setting up this multiple BG structure, It will be very useful.

    do you set deletion flag to your location master ? If not, please set deletion flag at first, then please delete your location by using /SAPAPO/DELETE_LOCATIONS .
    To set deletion flag to your location, please perform following.
    1. Open transaction /n/sapapo/loc3
    2. From the menu, select "deletion flag".
        (the location should be de-assigned from related data like product, model)
    3. delete your location by using /SAPAPO/DELETE_LOCATIONS .
    And if you have same location or same location product, I recommend you to add some kind of information to your location and product by using CIF user exit.

  • Capture employee salary in different currencies in a single business group

    Hi,
    Scenario: Under single buiness group, employees information of multiple countries are recorded (as there may be very few employees in each of those countries).
    Provided payroll is NOT implemented, how do we capture employee salary information specific to individual country ie., capturing employee salary in different currencies under single business group.

    You can use Add'l Salary Admin. Details DFF to capture Currency and its converted Value. Main Salary will be in one basic Currency.

  • SSHR limit searches by business group

    Hello, I was wondering how to limit all searches in SSHR to my business group.
    I've set the profile option HR:Business Group but this doesn't seem to be having any effect and returns basically every individual , every job (when applying for job for example).
    How do I limit this?

    Well Declan..you have to note this thing before going for this solution.
    The field you want to add as a hidden search parameter , should not be available on UI.
    Otherwise controlling the user will be very difficult.(Nevertheless, you can achieve it, but have to take lot of pains.)
    For example if you want to display partners belonging to a particular country say 'US',then add a record to GT_HIDDEN_PARAMETERS.
    DATA: ls_params   TYPE genilt_selection_parameter.
        ls_params-attr_name = 'COUNTRY'.
        ls_params-sign      = 'I'.
        ls_params-option    = 'EQ'.
        ls_params-low      = 'US'.
        APPEND ls_params TO gt_hidden_parameters.
    Implement this code in EH_ONSEARCH and then call super class. Standard code by default reads this gt_hidden_parameters.
    This is proprietary to BP_HEAD_SEARCH Component. If you have to implement this for some other componet then you should create an attribute gt_hidden_parameters and then read this internal table manually and manipulate the search criteria as is being done in standard code of method EH_ONSEARCH of BP_HEAD_SEARCH/SearchHelp.
    As I mentioned earlier COUNTRY attribute should not be available on UI.
    If Country was  available on UI, then imagine a case if user enters 'UK' as country and you have hard-coded inside to get only 'US'
    Then the result list have partners of 'US' despite user entering 'UK'. I mean to say the hidden parameters should not be available on UI.
    This way you can any valid hidden attributes by looking at the search object of the serach page in Model Browser.

    In R12.1.3, Which profile option has higher precedence in MOAC structure.
    If i set the HR:Cross Business Group to NO at resp level and MO: Security Profile, which is associated to Global Security Profile which has two OUs of two different BGs.
    For example:
    I have BG1 - OU1
    BG2 - OU2
    Case 1:
    Global Security Profile - XXGSP has both OU1(BG1) and OU2(BG2) associated.

  • Transfer Employee From one Business group to another

    Hello,
    As per my understanding we do have a functionality of transferring employee from one business group to another. Can any one tell me the exact steps for the same. It is there from 11.5.10 and the profile setting we have to set is HR: Propagate Data. Can anyone tell what from here I need to do for a transfer for employee between business group.

    Benefit tab is not available for all BG responsibility, like india is not having the benefit tab.
    Secondly if i want to go for some Long range compensation say an employee has worked for 2 yrs then he is eligible. Now technically speaking the the transfer employee should be eligible for the same. But if we terminate him and then hire him back in the new BG only the thing that is same is Party_ID apart from that is nothing same. Can you please put some suggestions.
    Eg: Person Hired on 10 Jul 2007 in US BG
    Person Transferred to India BG on 20 Jul 2008
    Now the company plans to give a compensation to all the employee who have been part of the company for 2 yrs or plus till 20 Jul 2009
    Now this particular employee will not be pulled out in the eligibility criteria.
    Can any one please pass there comments

  • Moving the Individual Protection group from one SAN Volume to another SAN Volume

    Dudes !!! There is no much information about migratedatasourcedatafromdpm.ps1
    script on the technet. My question is that I need to move Individual Protection group in an orderly manner from one SAN Storage to Another. I have more than 30 protection groups. I want to move individually 2 to 3 protection groups at one time from
    Old SAN Storage to New SAN storage. Is it possible that I mention  protection group individually and move each protection group bit-by-bit to the new SAN Storage.

  • How to retrive only data related to specific business group efficiently?

    We have sql queries which were written for an instance assuming that there will be only one Business Group. Now, we want to reuse those queries for another instance which is based on multi business groups.
    I understand, using fnd_profile.value('PER_BUSINESS_GROUP_ID') this, we can join with BG ID in correspondingthe tables. I found below tables which are used in my query.
    ota_delegate_bookings
    ota_events_tl
    ota_activity_versions
    ota_activity_versions_tl
    ota_activity_versions
    ota_category_usages
    ota_offerings
    per_person_types
    ota_booking_status_types
    hr_locations
    per_all_assignments_f
    per_all_people_f
    per_org_structure_elements
    hr_all_organization_units
    Now my question is, do we need to join this BG id for all these tables using the value from above profile?
    For example, employees difined in system are specific to one BG. Even though when we use/join with person_id in per_all_people_f, we will get unique record. So still is there any need to join with this BG id ?
    My concern is, in my query there are many places where I need to add this extra BG id condition, this may reduce performance of the query. I am not sure whether I have to change if id's are being used in the query.
    It would be very helpful, if any one can share the best practices(technically) when working with multiple BG, LE, OU's etc..

  • How to go for multiple business group

    Dear All.
    This is a very common and perhaps very old question now. But I just want to check what is the common process to go through to achieve multiple business groups. We are in oracle 12.1.XX and have single business group but now looking to implement more business group for other countries in same instance. I understand most of the objects would be same and they can be reused like DFF, Locations, Lookups, Value set etc but need to focus more on RICEW components.  May I request you to please share your experience on this and let me what are the mandatory steps we need to follow, like running some seeded programs, restructuring other objects, creating seprate DFF, Valueset etc.

    We are not migrating employee records.. we have one business group already and we want to create new business group for newly aquired company which is in other legislation. So just want to know what would be impact on existing BG and what are the objects we can reuse. For example we need to create New responsibilities, Menu, functions, job, position, person type etc.. Similarly we can use existing location, valuesets from existing BG in our new BG. Like this we want to create a list first so that we can plan our implimanation and come up with timeline..

  • Single Item Master across Business Groups

    Client wants to implement single item master across the business groups (BG).
    Does this require set up of HR Profile for allowing Cross Business groups?
    Is there any other setting that needs to be done (in addition to traditional Inv Org definition)?

    I think you need to setup Hr security profile only if you are using that. If not you just need to enable the profile value for cross business group. This is required just in case if an employee needs to be picked up in the lov in an item attribute (I don't remember whether there is one) from diff BG.Also move order approvals need to be tested if you are using that feature.
    In general I think anything that need to do with employees need to be tested.

    Login to your ebusiness suite and run the oracle diagnostics test 'Organization Structure'
    This would give you details about organization structure like business group definitions, GRE/Legal Entity accounting details etc.

  • Same Org as Business Group and Operating Unit cannot be migrated via isetup

    Hi,
    I have tried to migrate the setup of an organization which is classified as both Business group and Operating unit.
    When it comes to Operating unit API, it errors out with the following Warning message.
    I request the iSetup Team to clarify whether there is any restriction in iSetup that the same org as BG and OU cannot be transferred.
    If yes, then how to migrate the same...
    The above situation happens for the org classified as OU and IO. In this case the INV org API give the warning message.

    It is a known issue and has been fixed as a part of HRMS 12.0.7. You may apply HRMS 12.0.7 or request for back-port on top specific version.

    the first thing I can think of is: have you integrated eBS with OBIEE?
    I know this initblock just works fine, but when I look to you error... I really don't have a clue...
    But it must be the RESPONSIBILITY_ID or the RESPONSIBILITY_APPLICATION_ID.. but both are numbers already...
