Individual file crashes Photoshop every time it is opened.

Ok, I have a few files that I saved normally and can't find any specific issues with, but every time I open them in Photoshop CS6 it crashes. I've tried the same file on 3 different machines, all running CS6 and it crashes Photoshop on every one of them. It is a large EPS file and it will load about 80% of the way and then crash. Here is my crash report, I really need this file it has a lot of time and work tied up in it. Thanks in advance if if anyone has time to go through this.   (There is a lot more to the crash report but the forum won't let me do a post that long. Let me know if there is anything missing that might help.

  • Clicking on the "i" button at the end of the description of individual podcasts crashes iTunes every time.

I recently updated to version 10.5.1.42, after being seriously out of date ( I'm pretty sure I was running 9.0.1). The new version runs OK except for crashing every time I click on the little "i" button where the description of individual podcasts gets truncated. I get the "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close message" and the option to send an error message to Uncle Bill Gates - like he actually cares about compatibility issues with an Apple product!!
The "i" button isn't the single most important feature of iTunes, but it is sometimes useful and I'm wondering if anyone else has encountered and fixed this. I'm running XP, service pack 3 and hoping to hang on to it for a while. Yeah, I'm old and resistant to change, but I realize that you have to give in and update eventually or your stuff stops working. So I'm hoping that this isn't about XP, but if it is, I guess I'll just have to live without the "i" feature.
Something that might possibly be relevant to this issue: I did go in and roll back to my previous video driver after, I'm told, the iTunes update installed its own and screwed with all my other settings elsewhere in my system: made my desktop icons much bigger, changed the font in my Gmail account, etc. This happened last time I updated iTunes a couple of years back and was the reason I resisted updating since then. This is also the reason I have not tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Thought I'd try this post first and see if anyone had an answer.
    Thanks

    Simple solution... don't do that.
Check for Windows Updates, most likely the system is missing one or several.

  • Extension manager crashes photoshop every time I try to click on a app in adobe exchange to install it.

Anyone have this problem.  Have upgraded my graphics drivers, uninstalled and installed.

I have windows 7, photoshop cc.  I believe it has to do with the 64 bit and 32.bit. When I tried to install an app on 32bit if I clicked on any of the button in the Exchange panel it would crash and give me the error photoshop has stopped working, close program. It finally worked but I had to do it in 32bit mode.Thank you for your reply.

  • Help Files Crash Dreamweaver every time...!

I have looked for a solution to this online but drawn a blank
    so far.
No matter what I'm doing in Dreamweaver, the moment I try to
access any of the Help files via the drop down menu (or press F1
for that matter) the program hangs for five seconds or so before
    crashing to desktop.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled everything once.
Has anyone else heard of this before, and, more to the point,
    does anyone have a solution?
    Thank you in advance.

That usually means that it's not finding the location of the
    browser you
have designated as the system default browser.

  • File Project Clean up is crashing Logic every time

File>Project>Clean up is crashing Logic every time. I just copied the project folder to a brand new external 1TB Glyph hard drive. Everything has been working fine. The project is very big, with about 120 tracks. I am sure that I have lots of files to clean up, as I have been working on this project for months, and I have auditioned probably hundreds of soft synths that I'm not using anymore. Simultaneously, the Universal Control software (that controls the Presonus Firestudio Tube software mixer) has gotten buggy and now freezes all the time. I've come to a stand still and am not sure where the problem is.

    Having this same problem now.
    Any luck with yours?
I found a workaround: I had a big project going with lots of different logic projects in one folder--thinking that would save time and space, because they referenced many of the same soundfiles.
I started doing cleanups after a while, and they started crashing logic, i got the spinning ball, the fan turned on immediately to high, activity monitor told me that logic wanted 100% of CPU time, and always had to force quit.
I took the latest project and created a new folder, stuck the project in it, opened the file, then saved, which copied all the soundfiles into that new folder. Then when i did a cleanup, it worked fine.
So it has something to do with, er, having too many projects in one folder? too many sound files referenced by too many different projects?
I don't know. But there exists this workaround.
    HTH.

  • Flash Player Crashing every time it is opened

About a week ago I decided to remove the trial version of PSE from my computer. The trial period was over and to be honest I like Gimp much, much better (even more so now given all the problems I have encountered this past week.) I had a very difficult time getting PSE removed from my computer; even running my system as an administrator with full permissions granted, I kept getting the message that I did not have permission to change this file, it required an administrator. WTF big time! I contacted tech support to find out why I was having this problem, but unfortunately poor Gilligan was so lost all he could do was imply that I must be lying. Yes, that actually happened folks. I asked to be connected to a higher level and was supplied with a dead link. I finally got this Adobe crapware off my computer using brute force-yes Virginia, I did try using uninstall utilities of several flavors. There was no uninstall feature with the PSE software which led Gilligan to tell me I did not know what I was doing or talking about; I don't work for Adobe so I do know a little bit about what I am doing, sorry Gilligan. In cleaning the registery I was shocked to see what Adobe had placed in my system and even more shocked to see where it had been placed; why does Adobe feel the need to hide data miners in their crapware?
Since this issue with PSE, Flash Player has completely stopped functioning; prior to this everything functioned flawlessly. However, now every time I encounter flash content on a web page I am greeted by that familiar greyed out message, "Adobe Flash Player has crashed, send an error reort." I am not exagerating when I say that I have submitted well in excess of 100 error reports just in the past day alone. I have uninstalled and reinstaled new copies of Flash Player several times now, the latest version, 11 I think it was, as well as some of the archived older versions; after every install I have been directed to an Adobe web page telling me that Flash has been properly installed. My drivers are up to date on EVERYTHING, I utilize a utility that checks for updates regularly. I am running Windows 7 in a 64 bit environment (and yes I know for a fact that it is 64bit as I installed the 64 bit OS, and have verified it.) Using the latest version of IE, 9.0.8112.16421 (both 32 and 64 bit versions), when Flash Player crashes so does IE, every time. I open a web page containing flash content and poof, adobe error message followed by the IE error message, "something has caused IE to stop working properly." Using the most current version of FF, 8.0.1, this happens about 50% of the time and wipes my RAM completely clean clean when it crashes. I have removed everything branded as Adobe from my computer, and attempted starting from scratch. The only option I know of that is left is to wipe the drive clean and reinstall everything from scratch (yes Gilligan, that really is the only thing that has yet to be tried that I personally know of.)
So do I just give up and resign myself to never again see an online video until web developers realize just how crappy Adobe software has become and cleanse the web of flash and all things Adobe?? Or is there by some slim chance someone out there that has found a work around? What would really be nice is to have an alternative to Adobe Flash; I guess this shows why monopolies are a very bad thing as it allows for this sort of crap (trust me, I want to say so much worse right now, I really have come to despise Adobe) to go unchecked as long as they can turn a profit. So, any suggestions????

  • Bridge CS6 Crashes Every Time It Is Opened

Bridge CS6 crashes every time it is opened.  It never gets beyond the clicking of the icon on the dock... it bounces... then closes immeadiatly.  I am working on a Mac computer running OS 10.7.4 and have been forced to use Bridge CS5 instead.  Is there any fix for this or any updates coming out soon?

    Thanks Mike
I appreciate your comments. I will suggest they contact Markzware in Australia, they have been helpful in the past with me.
I used to produce the  Magazine for this client and they decided to take on their own designer! I was just trying to help them out as you never know when they may decide to come back to me, but I can’t spend too much time on it for them - i tried - we tried - sorry!!!! (Their in-house designer didn’t have a back up as their time capsule wasn’t working… Lesson learnt I think!
Thanks for you help and thoughts.

  • LPX file size grows every time I save (with almost no changes) - WHY?

    Hi all,
I am just now starting to move from Logic 9 to Logic Pro X. I first imported a very simple file from logic nine as a folder project and did not import anything except the file.
    - Then, I immediately saved it.  took more than 30 secs on core i7 - why so long?
    - next I "saved a copy as" file 1a - file size 700k - nice and small.
    - that I loaded the first logic X file back in and muted a few things and saved again
    - I made some other very minor changes like muting and re-saved three or four times.
Here is what is strange –
    Original file = 1 MB
main LX file was 2 megs and each subsequent save gained about 1 MB each time I hit save! So, the final grew to 6 MB after just a few saves!
I checked to see if there was some large edit history file I could purge – but it was empty because all I had done was change some mutes…
Q: what is going on with this large file size growing every time I hit save without any major changes – I would like to know what's going on.

It has to do with undo history, backups, and autosaves.  You can see these if you right click on the file and show package contents.  Explore in there and you should see these growing in the alternatives folder.  I would imagine there is kind of a limit to how many of these there are, but haven't looked to closely at it.

  • IDCS3 on Leopard: Quick Apply crashes InDesign every time

I haven't been able to use Quick Apply in ages, and I really miss it. InDesign crashes instantaneously every time I try to access Quick Apply. Deleting my preferences doesn't fix it. Changing the keyboard shortcut from command-return doesn't fix it. Selecting Quick Apply from the Edit menu instead of using the keyboard crashes too.
Quick Apply works fine in InDesign CS2 running on the same Leopard system.
Any ideas? I'm really reluctant to reinstall, and honestly I don't really expect that to fix it.
InDesign CS3, 5.0.2, OS X Leopard (10.5.2, all updates applied).

No problem here with Quick Apply. OS 10.5.2, IDCS3 5.02.
Since I've removed version cue and disabled default Folder for InDesign my crash problems have (almost) gone away

    Jodie84,
I have just checked your account and found that you indeed have bought a Creative Cloud for Teams subscription but you have assigned the single seat to another user hence you ( If you are using your own Adobe ID ) are getting the trial error message.
Two options : Either reassign the seat to your self or add an additional seat and invite your self in the same Team.

I have a new Mac Book Pro with Retina, and Keynote crashes almoset every time i use it? I have the newest update.
Could you please help me? I have a lot of Keynote shows, and I have to use it now!!
I have saved a crash report, if you need it.

Apple will not write back to you. Telephone using the Apple Care phone number appropriate for your country and ask for a refund, if that is what you want to do.
I use Keynote everday, it does exactly what it says it will do,  that is if your NOT using Mountain LIon.
    There are many applications available
I have used MS PowerPoint professionally for many years on both Windows and Mac, I can assure you it can do everything that Keynote can do and very much more.
Which software you choose depends on who you are and who you are presenting to.
    for interactive presentations look at:
    PowerPoint
    Adobe Flash
    Adobe Director
    Camtasia
    Dreamweaver (an HTML application)
    for simple photo slide shows:
    iPhoto
    iMovie
    Picasa
    Photomagico
