Individual Image lightbox effect
Can an individual slide show image be linked to a lightbox effect? The images on my site come up one at a time and are advanced with the forward and back buttons. Ideally I'd like to be able to click on each individual image and have it enlarge while the rest of my site greys out. I know it can be done with multiple thumbnails on a page but I can't figure out how to make it work as I described. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

New to AI and need help with individual images
Hi,
A client sent me her website mock up as an .eps file. I can open that in Illustrator but I'm having a hard time "grabbing" the individual images and putting them into Fireworks and then ultimately they need to make their way to Dreamweaver (I know how to do that part!)
Can I get some help on saving the individual images in the design so that I can use them again?
Thanks
DebiIt's important to note you don't have to use any other app. But if you're unfamiliar with Ai, it may be easier.
If you've got an item you can't seem to select in Ai you need to check if it's locked, the layer's panel should show a little lock next to any locked object. That's another one of those questions that's practically impossible to answer effectively without seeing the file. -
How can I use the tooltip widget on individual images in my thumbnail gallery?
Hey guys
I've got a client that is insisting on not having the caption text visible on each picture unless you could click or hover over a little information button. But I can't get the tooltip widget inside an individual image's lightbox (hope this makes sense). I have very little coding knowledge and was hoping someone would have the answer to this?Does no one have an answer to this Was hoping that someone could save me on this dilemma.
A side question, has anybody used a different gallery with muse before? -
How can you find out an individual image size from multiple images on a canvas
This is probably a really really simple question but I can't for the life of me find how I can find out an individual image size from multiple images on a canvas. eg I have 3 photos i want to arrange 1 large and the other two next to it half the size. How can I edit individual image size on the canvas as when I select the image on a sperate layer I want to resize it just resizes the entire canvas and not the individual image
ThanksI want to know they exact dimensions though. You can get them by dragging to the 0,0 corner and then reading off of the ruler scale on the sides but its fiddily as you have to zoom right in and work it out. I know in photoshop there is a ruler but is there any other way in Elements?

Lightbox effect and a database
Hi everyone,
I'm at a loss so I'm turning to the community. I recently took this tutorial to create a lightbox effect on a photo gallery page: http://www.webreference.com/programming/javascript/CSS-Only-Lightbox/
I have photos (a thumbnail and a larger version) in a db table with a caption and an ID. I was excited to see how easy the tutorial was and how it produced the effect I wanted. I was going to make a separate page for each larger photo to load into, but I figured why add extra steps and another page when I can use a lightbox.
When there is one record in the db it works fine; the thumbnail is loaded and when I click it, I get the larger version. However, if there is more than one record, I get all the thumbnails as they should appear, but the large photo is always the first record's large photo. Here is the output code:
<p class="CopyHeader">Photo Gallery</p>
<table width="100%" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
<cfoutput query="GetPhotos">
<tr>
<td align="center" valign="top">
<div id="fade" class="LB-black-overlay" onclick="if (!is_modal) HideLightBox(); return false;"></div>
<a href="" onclick="ShowLightBox('login-form'); return false;"><img src="photos/gallery/#FileThumb#" class="PhotoFrame-News" /></a>
<p class="Cutline">#Cutline#</p>
<div id="login-form" class="LB-white-content"><img src="photos/gallery/#FileGallery#" />
<a id="close" href="" onclick="HideLightBox(); return false;"></a></div>
</td>
</tr>
</cfoutput>
</table>
Can anyone think of why this is happening and provide a direction for a solution??
Thank you!Dan, can you elaborate a little more? Do you mean <a href="" onclick="ShowLightBox('login-form');?
Is there a way to vary this using ColdFusion?
Thank you. -
Hover mouse over a group photo & individual image pops up?
My project is to do a mouse hover over individual faces on a group photo and display an image of what that person looked like back in high school.
So far I am able to display the persons name as I hover over their face but don't know how to also display their individual image.
I set up an image map with circular hotspots for each face.
Please visit www.phsclassof1956.com/50th_group.html
Any help would be appreciated.You could do this very easily with Tooltips on an Image Map. See example below and mouse over Image Map of South America.

I have lost images from a slideshow I made. Is thre anyway I can use the dvd project to restore those lost individual images?
If these are actually part of a QuickTime movie then the best you can do is try get screen grabs of them.

Working with Chinese characters: How to paste and modify them as sentences; not as individual images?
From 2004, this is so far the most detailed answer I could find: http://en.allexperts.com/q/Adobe-Illustrator-1027/FONTS-display-problem-Adobe.htm, but is this really still the most up-to date solution?
Is it possible at all to work with Chinese characters, if I don't have the Chinese version of Illustrator? (http://www.proz.com/forum/dtp_desktop_publishing/221125-chinese_in_indesign.html)Thanks for your reply.
I'm using Version 17.1.0 (64-bit) - basically CS6.
Operating system is Windows 8.1. Installed is the simplied Chinese language package.
I have received the text in a Word document. It contains mixed characters, something like this:
教授资料
学术背景:
博士;曾于波恩大学(Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn)、台湾师范大学、
I have tried to paste it in the two following ways:
1) to create a text box and paste the text. The result is that some of the characters are not showed correctly.
2) Paste it directly without any preparation. This result into a single "image" or group of images. I can cancel modify each character one at a time, or I can dissolve the group, but the result is the same. -
I'm having difficulty getting a pair of Vimeo videos embedded within a Lightbox composition to resize and reposition themselves to the center and within the screen when uploaded to my website.
The site in question is http://NYCJazz.com. Click once to bring up the navigation, then click on "Vocalists" in the menu, then scroll down to "vocal-piano trio 2" and try to play the videos to see what I mean.
All other videos on the site are SD and center on the screen when clicked. The new videos (on "vocal-piano trio 2") are HD. The first is 1920 x 1080, the 2nd is 1280 x 720 (I'm testing both sizes to see the trade-off between size and load times).
Does anyone have any insight into what may be causing this behavior? My understanding of the Lightbox effect is that it should fill the screen and position itself to the center as its default behavior.After some more futzing around, it seems like the default desktop behavior of the Lightbox is to center the Vimeo widget within the browser, but not resize it or reduce it when it goes beyond the boundaries of the browser. On my iPhone, on the other hand, the default behavior is to fill the screen with the contents of the Lightbox.
Could someone from the Muse team at Adobe confirm if this is correct? If so, it means that I can't go beyond 1280 x 720 for my videos, and even that could be a problem for some users… -
Lightbox effect with a ADDT form
Hi,
I'd like to have a lighbox effect that when a link is clicked, a form created via the 'Insert recordform wizard' will have a lightbox effect to it, i.e. the rest of the page dims and no <a> is clickable other than to close the layer, or submit the form.
is this possible and if so, can somebody advise or point me in th eright direction.
much appreciatedAs the attached screenshot shows, implementing e.g. the Jquery Thickbox UI dialog widget into my ADDT workflow was a no-brainer.
What you see here is a separate ADDT Insert Record form which opens in a modal thickbox window, while the main ADDT form (which has the "thickboxed" <a> tag) gets dimmed -- and what you don´t see here is that the "redirect after insert" page will be displayed in the same modal window too ;-)
Cheers,

Image Splicing Effect Challenge (Part 1)
I ran across a neat image effect on this image:
Rock In Rio
Thought it might be neat to see how different people in the forums would go about doing this...
Anyhow. Looking forward to your ideas. Take care.

CSS mouseover image hover effect in iWeb?
I've been trying to create an image hover effect when placing the mouse over an image or clicking on the image on my website made in iWeb. The only problem is that the HTML widget doesn't allow the image hover effect to only activate when the mouse is over the widget and not the image. If anyone know some simple code I could put into my website's HTML file, it would be great. It actually doesn't have to be a hover effect, the image just has to change on mouseover.
My website is temporarily located here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/19707357/Website/Chocoa/tavlen.htmlI referred you to that page to see if the effect was what you wanted! The examples use javascript.
You originally asked for CSS and its better to use this since the browser only has to load one image instead of two.
Here's an example of a rollover using CSS and a sprite...

Accessing all of the individual images inside a database?
I just checked my Pictures folder and found my iPhoto database, though I can not access the images inside it, when I double-click on the database file it opens iPhoto. Where are all of the individual images inside of my iPhoto database stored?
Thanks.They are stored within the Library Package.
Since iPhoto 7 (iLife 08) the old iPhoto Library Folder is a Package File. This is simply a folder that looks like a file in the Finder. The change was made to the format of the iPhoto library because many users were inadvertently corrupting their library by browsing through it with other software or making changes in it themselves.
So, accessing the files via the Finder is not supported. iPhoto replaces the Finder for anything you want to do with your images - and I do mean anything. It can all be don with with or via iPhoto. If you use it's the Go-To app for anything to do with you photos.
For instance: want to edit an image in Photoshop? You can set Photoshop (or any image editor) as an external editor in iPhoto. (Preferences -> General -> Edit Photo: Choose from the Drop Down Menu.) This way, when you double click a pic to edit in iPhoto it will open automatically in Photoshop or your Image Editor, and when you save it it's sent back to iPhoto automatically. This is the only way that edits made in another application will be displayed in iPhoto.
As to accessing your photos to upload/email/use in another app:
There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto: You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Command-Click for selecting multiple pics.
(Note the above illustration is not a Finder Window. It's the dialogue you get when you go File -> Open)
You can access the Library from the New Message Window in Mail:
There's a similar option in Outlook and many, many other apps. If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
If you want to access the files with iPhoto not running:
For users of 10.6 and later: You can download a free Services component from MacOSXAutomation which will give you access to the iPhoto Library from your Services Menu.
Using the Services Preference Pane you can even create a keyboard shortcut for it.
For Users of 10.4 and 10.5 Create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use this free utility Karelia iMedia Browser
Other options include:
Drag and Drop: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
File -> Export: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
Show File: a. On iPhoto 09 and earlier: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected. 3.b.
b: On iPhoto 11 and later: Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Reveal in Finder -> Original. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.
Finally: If you want to inspect the Library package:
Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.
Standard Warning: Don't change anything in the iPhoto Library Folder via the Finder or any other application. iPhoto depends on the structure as well as the contents of this folder. Moving things, renaming things, deleting them or otherwise making changes will prevent iPhoto from working and could even cause you to damage or lose your photos. -
I uploaded a second episode (Moteque Sessions) with image. The same image also went as the new cover image for the podcast but why did the first episode's image was also change to that new image?
Would be grateful if anyone can shed any light on this...
Here is my feed's address: http://feeds.feedburner.com/MotequeSessions
Blog: http://djmoteque.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default?alt=rssWhen subscribing in iTunes you will only see individual episode images if they are actually embedded in the media file: the contents of the 'itunes:image' tag within the episode does not show in iTunes, execepting only in the Store search results where individual episodes are found.
Indeed I'm puzzled that you have managed to get an image into the Store page at all because your image URL is
http://i59.tinypic.com/2qjj705.jpg which redirects to a Tinypic web page containing the picture - iTunes will not read this (unless the redirect is specific to browsers). Did you change this from initially being the direct URL of the picture? If so the original is cached.
You don't have any further 'itunes:image' tags. You have image URLs within your 'description' tags for the episodes, and these are different for the two episodes; but iTunes does not use these images.
If you want individual images to appear when subscribing in iTunes you will have to embed the images in the mp3 files as described in this page:
http://www.wilmut.webspace.virginmedia.com/notes/coverart.html
Note that in the iOS Podcasts app the embedded or chapter images (and images referenced in the 'itunes:image' tags within individual episodes) do not show. -
