Individualization of Mail disclosures (SODIS) through parameters

Hello there everybody ,
My latest Task consists of sending out an invoice mail with an e-mail-body and a pdf-attachment. At first I thought this should be no big deal, but after a few hours of collecting information about this theme my mood changed dramatically. There is no possibility to add an e-mail body and a pdf-attachment through the 'external sending'-mode. You can only add an e-mail-body OR a pdf-attachment at a time.
So I decided to search the notes for a solution and found note 753622. This note refers to the transaction SODIS. You are able to create disclorues for the communication type 'external sending', but I didn't find a way to individualize the text of a disclosure.
I wanted to add the name of the recipient and certain information of the billing e.g. the order number.
Does anyone of you know a way how to individualize the text of a disclosure??

Hello there everybody,
I'd asked SAP about this problem and they told me that there is no standard function for my reply. If you want to send an e-mail with an attachment, you have to write an individual report. Of course there are enough example-reports in the forums of the sdn.
If you're facing the same issue as i did, don't try to solve it by standard functionality. It's just a waste of time.

How to send E-Mail Notification executing through workflow?

hi All
I want to send E-Mail Notification executing through workflow in MDM Data Manager?
I have tried it, But still i am unable to send E-Mail Notification?
i will explain, how i have tried?
1) I have created the simple workflow with the following components
they are in sequence
start--> process-> notify--->stop
2) owner of the workflow is Admin and launcher of the workflow is Admin and i have given email id to the Default Admin user in the console.
3) i have created another user (i.e. User2) with default roles as like as Admin and i have assigned User2 to the process component in workflow and I have created e-mail address for the User2 in the console.
4) i have created another user(i.e.User1) with default roles as like as Admin. and give e-mail address,under the notify component User1 is selected in To Field.
5) stop component as usual
coming to configuration part about the SMPT server in MDS.ini file
1) in mds.ini file for the MailServer=, I have given SMTP Server name once and restarted the server and executed the workflow, but not worked
2)in mds.ini file for the MailServer=, i have given SMTP Server IP Address and checked the port,and we have configured the host file also and restarted the server and executed the worflow , but not worked
In all the ways i have executed and tried to send E-Mail Notifications through workflow, But I didn't
can any one help where i have went wrong, so i can rectify it
what actually we have to give in mds.ini file? is any other cofiguration required for it?

Hi Bharat,
your steps seems to be correct. Just try to ping your mail server, to verify if your mail server is running up, besides note that mdm go throw port 25 for sending emails, so please check if you are able to send emails using port 25 in your network.

hello, there are reports that the foxit pdf plugin is causing this issue. you might want to disable this plugin in firefox > addons > plugin until foxit offers a fix/update for its plugin.

Mail not coming through

netflix tried 3 times to send me mail so I could change my password but I could not get the email. I gave them my yahoo email address and the mail came right through . Any idea why I could not receive email they told me to check my junk mail box but I cant find one? Thanks for any help

By default any mail that Thunderbird thinks is junk gets a junk icon placed beside it and it goes into your Inbox. You can set up a Junk folder but since you seem to know nothing about Junk I doubt that you have setup junk controls and modified the default
The more likely possibility is your providers spam filter is catching the messages and they are going into the Spam folder on your providers server.
You need to log into your account at your providers web mail page and check the spam folder there.

Use Mail to access your emails and not a web browser.
If you have not done this before you can probably get instructions about setting up Apple Mail from your email provider's web site.

Mail: only Strike-Through refuses to work

All the rest of the style formattings are working fine when composing a Mail message, except "Strike Through," no matter what I try (successfully creating the style to work in TextEdit), see below... I'm not interested in a keyboard shortcut since I don't use it that much, but I wonder why the rest of the styles show up and actually WORK in Mail, except Strike-Through....

...So I guess the ONLY way to go is to select the text, click Command-T and chose the single line strikethrough.... OK, not the end of the world....

Payment Advice needs to be send as mail to Vendor through SAP.

After running T-Code: F110, spool getting generated with all the payment advice (lets say 20 advice at a time for different vendor). now we want to mail each advice to respective mail through SAP itself. Could you please provide me some idea through which i can achieve this functionality.

What you can do is send a specially formatted e-mail (specific recipient/subject) to a mail server, where this mail server has special code/plug-ins/processes that can reformat the e-mail as a SMS and then forward it to a SMS gateway server that can pass it to the cellular provider's network for processing and delivery.
Do you have such a mail server? Does it interface with a SMS Gateway (or similar) server?

Dynamic mail message's through Alert

We have a requirement to send dynamic mail messages based on the alert output's.
like if the output value is NULL then i need to send different message and if it is not null then another message has to go to the user.
is this possible through alert??

Setting up Mail for IMAP through Gmail

Hi,
To sync mail on my desktop, laptop, and iPad, I've set it up to link them through Gmail using IMAP. (I chose not to use iCloud because it won't let me use my own domain name for the e-mail address...and this is my business mail.) Everything works fine; the In-Box and the half dozen folders I have for different projects all appear on my Mac and on Gmail, and syn perfectly.
But....
I now have 2 "Sent" folders in Mail, which each behaves somewhat differently, and 3 Trash folders, which also behave somewhat differently.
SENT FOLDERS
One Sent folder is in the top level, under Mailboxes. It appears to be purely local to the computer, and stores messages in the normal fashion. The second one is in the Gmail folder below it, and syncs with gmail. In that folder, all messages are shown as addressed to me. In the account preferences, under Mailbox Behaviors, I tried checking the box to "Store sent messages on the server." But all that did was to flag the top level Sent folder with an error message saying: "The Sent mailbox could not be created on the mail server. The local “Sent Messages (Gmail)” mailbox was created instead."
Is there any way to fix this so that I have only one Sent folder (and no error flag)? I don't need 2 copies of every sent message.
TRASH FOLDERS
The situation is similar for Trash, except that I have 3 folders. A the top level, Trash has two sub-folders one labeled "On my Mac," the other labeled "Gmail." I have not checked the box to "store deleted messages on the server." The third trash folder is in the Gmail folder below. For now, all the deleted messages seem to go into the "On my Mac" folder. But it's odd to have the other two trash folders.
I would be grateful for any suggestions.
(By the way, none of this is a problem on my iPad, where Mail has just one Sent folder and one Trash folder, and they both function just as expected.)

About 45 minutes after posting my question, I found a web tutorial that addressed all these issues and explaind step-by-step how to fix them. The suggested settings worked perfectly and fixed all the issues.

Drill Through Parameters

Hello,
Our organization would like to take advantage of the Drill Through functionality that is built into BPC for NetWeaver 7.5. In both the How To Guide and several blog/forum posts, the examples shown for the parameterized URL call state that the values passed as parameters must be at the base level of the dimension. This is an unrealistic expectation for our business case.
We have a custom Drill Through developed for our implementation of BPC for Microsoft 7.0. The report we execute the Drill Through from is a financial cost report. Rows(Account) and columns(Time) are rarely displayed at the base value-level. In addition we have EvDRE filters for Company, Profit Center, and Cost Center that are usually set at the "All" level (but not always). Business users drill through a specific cell to see all detail transaction data corresponding to the cell value.
In order to "explode" each dimension, we developed custom user-defined functions in SQL Server. A dimension value is passed to the function, the function "explodes" through the dimension and returns a list of all base level values related to the passed value. The tables returned from each function (account, time, company, cost center, profit center) are then used to filter transaction detail via a SQL Server stored procedure.
It must be possible to develop this same sort of "dimension explosion" logic within the BPC for NetWeaver 7.5 environment. The question is how can it be accomplished? We've come up with some possible alternatives:
1) Develop a transaction which can be accessed through the ITS. The transaction would read the BPC dimensions as stored in the BW, perform the "dimension explosion" logic, then pass the value lists for each dimension as filters to a custom ABAP report or Bex Query,
2) Develop logic in .ASPX/C# to execute a Microsoft SSIS package that pulls data from the dimensions using the SAP BI connection manager. The resulting value lists are then passed to a parameterized WebI or Crystal Report.
3) Develop a custom menu selection, calling macro logic created within our cost report. The macro logic would perform the "dimension explosion" logic, then somehow store the resulting value lists so they can be consumed by the drill through executed via a call to mnu_ETOOLS_DRILLTHOUGH_RUN.
We're not sure how feasible each of these alternatives are, and hope some of you out there can share your thoughts.
Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help!

It seems that you've thought this through pretty thoroughly!
One other option to consider would be regularly synchronizing BPC and BW versions of your hierarchy, and then doing a lookup on the BW side without directly referencing the BPC dimension data. Yet another option would be loading your detailed data into BPC and then doing the "explosion" by using EVHOT to jump to a report on the detailed application.

Unable to add a mail account, with Invalid Password error message, yet can log into mail system OK through a browser. Mail technicians can't find the problem.

When I try to add a newly-created Bigpond account to Thunderbird, I get an error message "User Name or Password Invalid", yet I can log in to this account OK through a browser. When adding the account, Thunderbird says "Configuration found in Mozilla ISP database". I have previously successfully added Bigpond, Yahoo, Outlook and Hotmail accounts to Thunderbird and they are working fine. The Bigpond Technical Support staff have looked into this and cannot see what is wrong but they say they do not support Thunderbird. Any ideas appreciated...

For the settings that needs to be configured for your new mailbox, kindly follow the steps listed below:
(**Note: Please be advised that BigPond technical support team is only trained for Microsoft mail clients like Outlook Express, windows Live mail and the like. Having said this, we can only provide limited assistance in setting up your email account for your Thunderbird mail client by providing the correct settings that need to be configured.)
For IMAP server settings:
Account Type: IMAP
Incoming IMAP server: imap-mail.outlook.com
Incoming IMAP mail: port 993
Outgoing SMTP server: smtp-mail.outlook.com
Outgoing SMTP port: 587 (with TLS [preferred] or SSL Encryption depending on your e mail app)

- Log In your email account from the BigPond website from the Webmail section located at the top left side of the BigPond home page (http://media.telstra.com.au/home.html).
- The page then will automatically redirect to an Outlook website in which you will need to click the 'settings icon' (a gear like icon) located at the top left side of the page.
- From the drop down list, click on 'Options'.
- It will then direct the page to a new page where you will need to click 'Connect devices and apps with POP' under the Managing your account section.
- Choose 'Enable' and choose "Do what the device or app says—if it's set to delete messages, delete them." under Deleting downloaded messages.
- Click on the 'Save' button to save the changes.
- Log out of from your webmail page and start setting up your email client on your mail client using the following setting below:

In looking at the Thunderbird error message, it seems to consistently refer to the User Name and Password. I know they are correct, as I can log in from a browser using them. Is there something in the validation rules that might be the problem? Also, you may be aware that Bigpond is migrating their old Webmail system across to the Outlook platform. Registering new e-mail accounts in Bigpond get created on the Outlook platform, whereas older accounts are still on the Bigpond Webmail system. Is this causing a problem somewhere in validation?

TS4002 Cannot send e-mails on iCloud through a web browser on a computer.

I can only send emails through my iCloud on my phone, but not on a web browser on any compute
I can only send e-mails through my iCloud on my iPhone, but not on any computer, everytime I try to send an e-mail from every computer that I have tried, I get an error that says "This message cannot be sent at this time."
I've looked through configuration options and I cannot find an obvious fix, can anyone offer any help? Thanks.

A couple details that I acidently left out above:
When I first started using iCloud, I did not expereience this problem, it started about two months ago..
Also I have tried on three seperate web browers: Internet Explorer, Firefox and Google Chrome. I get the same error in all 3.
