Individually numbering copies of a document

I have one very large document that I need to produce 25 copies of. However, my client is requesting I number each copy at the bottom of each page (i.e. "Copy 1, Page 1" ... "Copy 1, Page 2"... etc.)
Is there an easy way to do this? I could print the copies one at a time and add a copy number to each print run, but I'd rather not have to babysit it like that.

If it's a single document, you could create a numbered paragraph style for the copy number on the master page(s), save 24 additional copies, add them all to a book file, set the numbering to continue across files, set page numbers to restart at 1, and export the book to PDF, or print the book directly from ID.
If it's a book of multiple documents, you could create a text variable for the copy number and insert it on the master page(s); synchronize the text variable only across the book for the first copy, export to PDF with "copy 1" in the title; change the text variable in the style source file and synchronize the book, export to PDF with "copy 2" in the title; repeat for all copies. In Acrobat, combine all the PDF files into a single PDF, or create an Acrobat batch file to print each individual book.

You may delete Numbers 08 if you wish, but some folks like keeping it around. Close all your Numbers docs and Quit the Numbers app, and the other Numbers app if necessary.Then click the Numbers icon on your doc. Then select Numbers > About Numbers, and in the window that pops up, see which version it is. If the Dock icon started Numbers 08, you can cure that by dragging that icon off the Dock and letting it go in a puff of virtual smoke.
Now, to put the Numbers 09 icon on the Dock, double-click one of those known Numbers 09 documents so that Numbers 09 starts up. Verify by checkig Numbers > about Numbers.
Now click and hold the Numbers Dock icon and select the Option for Keep in Dock.

It sounds to me as though you are attempting to open a Pages 09 document with the Pages 08 application. If you do have Pages 09 on your computer, it may be that for some reason an existing Pages 08 application is invoked accidentally.

OK, I found it myself:
1. Tools - Pages - Edit Page Design - Header & Footer - Add Header & Footer.
2. Select the font and size, etc, place the cursor on the appropriate site to insert the page number, click the "Insert Page Number" button, and click OK.

Numbers won't open documents in Mountain Lion.

I have a Mid 2011 Mac Mini that shipped with Mountain Lion. I installed iWork from the original DVD and ran software updates to get the latest release. The apps launch, but will not open any of my iWork documents. I get the following errors in the logs:

8/13/12 5:22:44.904 PM Numbers[6566]: Failed to open document, but no unrecoverable error
And I sometimes get the following error on screen "The document "document name" could not be opened." note "document name" is actually the name of the document I am trying to open.
I've uninstalled the application manually, and with AppZapper on 3 seperate occasions, making sure to clear out any preference files, empty the trash and reboot afterwards. Then reinstalled and ran updates after logging back in, but to no-avail. If I try to open the template viewer I get these errors in the log.

Pages and Keynote seem to have the same issue, I can't create new documents or open exitsing ones. I can keep uninstalling and reinstalling, but that doesn't seem to be the correct path. Anyone have any ideas?

I ended up finding a solution on my own. I re-uninstalled the iWork apps, deleting the apps, preferences and library\application support\iWork folder at the root of the Macintosh HD. After a restart, reinstalled the iWork software from my DVD. I then manually downloaded and installed the iWork 9.2 upgrade from Apple, http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1563 , instead of using the App Store software update method. Once completed, I ran permissions repair for good measure, though nothing was repaired. Launched and the apps are working as expected.

Excel does not use the .xcl extension for any of its native file formats? The only files I've ever seen with xcl as the file extension were associated with embedded application code projects.
If this is in fact an Excel file, but an encrypted one, you cannot open it (in excel or any compatible application) without the decryption password.

Creation of new numbering interval for FI documents - FBN1 transaction

Dear Experts, good day!
When trying to create new numbering intervals for FI documents (FBN1 transaction), inserting the needed entries to a customizing request (only those new entries, related to future years) and release it to the Quality environment, we have noted the new entries didn't get into the destination system.
Have someone seen this before? Would you know why does that happen? How can we transfer the NRIV table contents to the other environments (Quality and Production)?

To copy number ranges to a new year you do with the transaction OBH2.
When you want to transport number ranges you ask for problems. Only for a new implementation you can do it but not when there are existing number ranges with postings for that company

Sounds like a permissions problem ie read only.
If running repair permissions from your DiskUtility.app does not sort it,
Someone should jump in here with erudite and concise fix.

Click in the second section text:
Inspector > Layout > Section > Configuration > uncheck Use previous headers and footers
Then go back and simply delete what's in the header/footer of the first section.

That is the disk cache of Firefox, where contents of loaded pages are kept for faster retrieval and it also helps to conserve bandwidth. If the Numbers doc is, indeed, backed up in Time Machine, then you should be able to go back in time through the backup history until you see the file. Make sure you are in the folder where the file used to be. Also look through email and see if you sent the file to anyone
Also... make sure you did not accidentally move the file into the trash. You can open the trash by clicking on, and holding, the mouse button while hovering over the trash can in the dock:

Printing 2 copies of a document where a floating field change

Context:
I have an interactive form compiled by a user.
when compiling is finished, I'd need to print 2 copies of that document; the 2 copies are exactly the same but a floating field that has to change, i.e. 'Copy for ME' and 'Copy for the CUSTOMER'.
Placing 2 print buttons it's not a problem, in the first button I set the Floating field to 'Copy for ME' and send a print command, in the second I do exactly the same with the 'Copy for the CUSTOMER'.
Which is the best strategy to print those 2 copies clicking the print button only once and showing the printing window only once with the whole printing spool (2 copies)?

The problem is messagebox. if second messagembox line is omited, no changes shown in texfield1 fields .
First messagebox can be ommited but second messagebox sentence is mandatory.
Other idea is using "post print" event for "reprint" entire form but untested for me.

Printing multiple copies of a document on a remote network printer queue

We have migrated our main production instance (ECC6) from HP-UX to AIX 6.1, went live on monday.
Printers are defined like this:
SAP prints to the local operating system (C)
Local print queues are defined which point to remote printers still currently located on a HP UX server. Nothing was changed on this one.
Now since the migration on AIX, the parameter for multiple copies of a document is ignored, if we select for example 4 copies on the SAP print screen, only 1 copy is printed. It worked perfectly fine when the instance was on HP UX.
Seems that the lp command on AIX does not pass the optional parameters when printing on a remote printer (was acknowledged by AIX support), and if we issue manually on AIX a lp command with parameter -n2 for example, only one copy is indeed printed.
I wonder if there is a simple workaround to this problem since it must be quite common? I didn't find anything here or in the Sap notes.

Seems the AIX administrator has found a workaround with modifying the queue definitions in qconfig, to be BSD style... tests in progress

Logic to create multiple numbered copies of a page?

I have compiled a report that I need to create unique numbered instances of a page based on a number of units for different vendors, and I'm trying to automate the process. I use a parameter field to tell the report to determine the number of units that necessitate an additional copy of the report. For instance, if I enter a parameter of 10 and there are 50 units, I need to get 5 copies of the report; if there are 175 units, I need 18, and so on.
I'm trying to use a do while loop where I increment the page count lower each time a page is printed, but I can't figure out exactly how to pull it off..... Here's what I've got:

Total reports is the total number of pages I need for an individual report. There may be hundreds of individual reports for which I need to go through this duplication process.....
Of course, the formula as written only counts down to 1 and prints "1" into a single instance of a report, but that is where I'm hung up - how can I get it to start with number 18 and count down to number 1, and to then move on to the next unique report?

This returns a 1 for all instances in the test report I'm using.
I didn't use the Roundup methodology because I need each instance of the report to return the value of units associated with the individual page/instance.
For example, if there are 238 units of a product, and the parameter entry denotes a split of 25, then I need it to create 9 reports, each noting that it covers 25 units (9*25=225) and one report noting that it covers 13 units (238-225=13). The mathematical end of things is pretty tidy, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to get it to print the "25" nine times and "13" once..... I need it to print to the page prior to going into the loop each time:
