Inductive proximity sensor with DAQ

Hi everyone
I am planing to connect my inductive proximity sensor with NI-9215 DAQ but not sure will that thing work perofectly. Also i don't know how to connect my sensor with the BNC terminal.
The sensor I am using is from automation direct AM9-05-1A with input volatage of 10-30 VDC and output voltage range from 0-5 VDC.
I want DAQ to monitor my output signal from sensor.

Hey lynn
I am planing to use NI-9215 DAQ. Here is the link for that.
http://sine.ni.com/nips/cds/view/p/lang/en/nid/208793.
Since this kind of DAQ has BNC type of connectivity with it so I am not sure how to connect my sensor with this connector.
Thanks

  • Phone made sound when I covered the proximity sensor

Earlier today, I was looking some videos up on youtube (on my iphone of course) and upon finishing, I quit out and locked my phone.. when I put it into my pocket I heard this sound that resembled a helicopter in my pocket. I then took my phone out and turned it on.. confused I put it back on stand by and covered the proximity sensor with my finger and it made the sound again... Ever since that I restarted my phone and it hasn't made the sound since. Im not really sure what did that.. doesn't seem like a serious problem, but I thought I should post it anyway.

appreciate it, but my old iPhone 5 and my wife's iPhone 6 does the same thing. I figured it might be a software issue.
Very weird. I've tried to make several (5, 5s, 6, 6+, different colors) do that and they won't. They only blank when I hold it up to my face. I can't make it blank with my palm, or arm, or any body part other than my head. Makes me wonder just how the proximity sensor works, because it appears to involve more than mere proximity. It works so well I never even gave it any thought.
I would ask just how you're holding it to make it blank, but I tried all sorts of ways and I can't.

  • 2.2 and call proximity sensor

Is anyone else having an issue with the dial pad when you receive a call?  Before the update, when a call came in and was up to my face the dial pad/screen was disabled, as soon as I moved it away from my face to enter VM password or something the dial pad came up (using what I believe is the built in proximity sensor).  Since the upgrade, my face seems to be inadvertently pressing numbers on the dial pad.  Maybe I am missing a setting?  Maybe its a quirk not addressed properly in the upgrade?

No problems with proximity sensor with my droid x 2.2 either. Why don't you simply disable keypad during a call? if you need to impute r numbers, just activate it. again.

    Hi folks,
i have an apple IPhone4. I am experiencing certain problem with my iphone4. The problems are as follows a. my ear piece and proximity sensor is not working while making a call. 2. It cannot reproduce sound without earphone but rings normally if gets any call.
Can any one help me in this regard??

Try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose data by resetting, but it can cure some glitches after installing new software or apps.

Hi I had this problem with my wifes case, my defender worked fine, turned out it was her white inner case. Did you get the Pink on white one? If so, I've been told you can color in the proximity sensor area of the defender with a black sharpie (on the white part) and that shouold fix your problem.
I just tried that as I have her case here still and coloring the proximity sensor area black worked.

  • Locking the screen with the proximity sensor

    Hi,
I'm hoping that there's a setting for this and I just missed it.
According to the manual the phone has a proximity sensor so that if you're talking on the phone and it's pressed against your face, your face won't be pushing buttons.  The manual also says that it only works while making calls.
Is there a way to enable the proximity sensor for other times, i.e. when the screen is locked?  The reason I ask is that I keep the phone in my pocket - if there's an alarm reminder (or text message), the screen temporarily unlocks, so when I reach in my pocket and get the phone (even holding it on the sides), the alarm frequently gets snoozed or silenced - and goes away before I can see it.  I had the same problem with the mechanical buttons on my N95 but was able to resolve that by just being more careful taking the phone out of my pocket.  Doesn't work in this case!
Any thoughts on this one?  It's one of very few things that really bother me about this phone.  If there was a way to use the proximity sensor to keep the touch screen locked while the phone is in my pocket, that would be a huge fix.
    Thanks!

  • Problem with Proximity Sensor

When I decide to make a call the Proximity Sensor turns off the screen, but when I go to hang up the call I can't because the screen is still turned off. This means I can't hangup on any call!
Using iPhone 4 (1 Day Old)

I don't believe this is fixed and have rised the issue with Apple. I did what was asked on the link provided and still the problem persisted.
Could I ask if the problem came about via upgrading the iOS from 3.1.x to 4?
I've done a clean install of the iOS...meaning I wipe everything.... and it looks like it might have worked.

At 5% return rate on a product I understand that becomes a 'significant event' that becomes declarable to shareholders, so we know they haven't reached that milestone yet.
a disclosable event is not triggered by a specific stock return level unless apple has entered into covenants re same. Suggest you take a look at sec rules for more info
Still, unless you have insider knowledge, you don't know Apple's buying them back at record numbers. You may be guessing, but you likely don't have proof....
agree. I don't have any proof whatsoever, just a strong gut feeling that all is very much not as rosy in cupertino as it might seem.
For a company whose culture is steeped in phreakery, apple is showing an amazing inability to exert control.

I find it completely ludicrous that Apple can interject on this thread and say it's received too many posts and has to be shut down and a "new" thread started. Really now? Seriously? Couldn't they also simply pop in and post 'hi guys, we hear you and are working on it' ...or something to that effect? That's my main complaint really is the deafening silence. What they're basically telling us is to complain all we want, if we don't like the phone then return it for a refund ...that is if you still have your original defective phone, for all you that already swapped phones, you're beat and are stuck with our mistake for the next 2 years when you'll be upgrade eligible again. ...WOW, thanks for the statement without technically releasing one. ...I think we're all left in the dark because Apple really doesn't know what is going on with the sensor, they can't and or won't release a statement without getting the facts straight. ...but we all know one fact is straight...the sensor is dysfunctional and that alone deserves an acknowledgement. How are we to have faith in Apple to fix the issue when we're left to believe they don't think there is one.
...btw update on "my fix" ...deleting all your photos and putting the phone in your arm pit and then under your pillow is only a temporary solution, for mine sensor is on the fritz again. ...shaking my head, if only this were
    funny.

  • Issue with Proximity Sensor during calls

I'm having an issue with the Proximity Sensor not properly detecting when i'm holding my phone to my ear. I can confirm that the iPhone sensor is working by covering it with my finger, but when held to my face, the screen blinks as if it cannot decide to disable the screen or enable it. It results on me hanging up, putting calls on mute, and dialing numbers accidentally while i'm on the phone. This occurs on 90% of my calls. Is anyone else experiencing this issue. I would like to confirm whether this is a software issue (Proximity Sensor sensitivity too low) or a design issue (sensor now placed towards the end of the phone).
Macbook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.4)

    Hi there bobby adapa,
You may find the troubleshooting steps in the article below helpful.

Screen won't lock or go black when answering calls
Verify mute or speaker have not been activated, just prior to placing your ear over the receiver.
While on a call hold your hand over the top third of the display, and verify that the screen is locked or goes to sleep.
Try turning iPhone off and then on again.

  • C4 - Issue With Proximity Sensor

Got my xperia c4(E5363) this afternoon and noticed an issue with the proximity sensor. When I make a call and bring the phone near my ear, the screen becomes black BUT it does not recover even when I take the phone away from my ear. It remains black only. Even pressing the power button does not help. The only workaround is that I have to remove the sim, which causes the phone to reboot. Once its up, I need to shut it down again, re-insert the sim and restart. pls help !!!

just back from service centre. you were right. it was the screen protector !!!!It has been removed and the phone works like a charm now. Many thanks for your help !!!!!!!

  • Anyone having problems with the white proximity sensor

White iphone 4 with proximity sensor not working

Yes, I'm fully aware of the numerous threads about this issue. However, I want to share my experience as I may stumbled onto something new.
Long story short, I've purchased about 7 white iphone 4's for my company and found that the proximity sensor did NOT work for some of them once the PureGear screen protector was applied (which was purchased at a Verizon store).
Now here's the interesting part...for the ones that it DID work for (about 3 or 4), they worked fine. However for these units only, if pressure was applied to the top left hand corner of the unit (basically pinch the corner between your thumb and index finger) the screen would shut off while on a call regardless of how far away from the sensor you were. I only noticed this because there was a gap on one unit between the white plastic and the metal band and when I squeezed it the screen shut off while on a call.
So here's my take: some units are more tightly assembled than others. The tighter ones HAVE the screen protector incompatiblilty issue, while the others do NOT but the screen will go dark when that corner is squeezed while on a call (while not near face or anything else that woud activate prox sensor).
    Anyone else find this?

  • I can live with iphone 4 antenna problem but not with proximity sensor...

I did not face much trouble with antenna issue.. may be I am having good signal.. but certainly I am facing proximity sensor issue.. out of every 5 calls I have problem with at least 2 to 3 calls going to mute or starting facetime or opening address book etc...

I feel 100% the same. I am wondering if all these people complaint of the signal strength issue are really actually experiencing the proximity problem and just don't know it. This is beyond annoying.
