Inefficient Creative Cloud

Question

I understand that one of the main goals of making Creative Cloud was to make the product easier to purchase and probably to reduce piracy, however here is a run-through of what is required of me as an end user to use Adobe's Creative Cloud.
Visit adobe.com and can't find the download link to creative cloud anywhere on the front page.
Considering Creative Cloud is their premier product you'd think they'd have it easily downloadable for users instead it is nestled somewhere on the website and requires the user to login.
At this point the question becomes why does Adobe have two products to download software:
Adobe Creative Cloud & Adobe Download Assistant
Why are these two separate things in the first place?
How about non Creative Cloud users just download it and be able to get their elements software etc without having to login?
In any case downloading the Creative Cloud client shouldn't require logging in, because as soon as you install it you have to login anyway!
Why force paying users to login to adobe.com to download a 1MB file?
So now that I have Creative Cloud installed I begin downloading a few programs that are necessary (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom & Bridge)
I start Premiere and am told that the maximum number of activations have occurred, so I have to login again.
Then After Effects/Illustrator tells me I am starting a trial with 0 days left (?); so I click activate software and login again (once for each piece of software which doesn't work)
Adobe support tells me that because I had to log out the other computers that were signed into my account I had to login again--that's great and all but then what was the point of the previous 5 logins?
If you're sitting there saying "big deal this guy has to login a few times my password is catsarecool I don't see what the issue is". My password is long and random and requires pasting into the program.
Secondly, this is a paid service and should be convenient to the end user. End of discussion.
All of this logging in and logging out should solely take place from within the Creative Cloud application.
To make matters worse immediately after downloading the software Creative Cloud tells me there is an update for almost everything I just installed--I understand having older versions available for users but make it in a separate option for people still using grandma's toaster to import a terabyte of video.
A user doing an install from the get-go should be provided the latest version when they first install it.
To add insult to injury Adobe Acrobat Pro has ITS OWN UPDATER SOFTWARE!?!?!
Not only that, having just downloaded it and installed it to make a point of this, by clicking the "check for updates" item in the help menu I'm told there is an update available which Acrobat's separate update software is now downloading?
What was the point of Creative Cloud then? Why on Earth would 99.9% of users install Creative Cloud and go
"oh can't have that latest software patch installed, better install this vintage release of Premiere that came out 3 months ago"
The reason this is especially infuriating is this:
I installed Premiere on my laptop and started working on a project which I saved to a harddrive
I moved this project and all associated media to my desktop computer and installed Creative Cloud which installed an OLD version of Premiere
I attempted to open my previous Premiere sequence and was told it was incompatible as it was from a new version of premiere
I restart the project (I hadn't done much work at this point, just sorting media luckily) as a new file and save
I update Premiere 5 minutes later to the latest version (which should have downloaded from the start)
Then I try to open the project file I just made and have to convert it to the new version of Premiere
Bam just like that 45 minutes of my time completely wasted that could've been spent far more productively (this is in addition to the 20 minutes of finding a download link and in addition to the 20 minutes having to deal with customer support because my 62nd login to Creative Cloud wasn't good enough to qualify me as a paying customer.
Why does Adobe have 3 pieces of software that do the exact same thing--download software/updates.
What is the point of having these 3 pieces of software if none of them seem to be able to even download the latest version of software?
This should all be achieved with one single program.
Most important to note that this all took place on a fresh installation of Windows 8 (installed the same day and no antivirus or anything installed) so these issues are clearly representative of issues with Creative Cloud.
It may seem like I'm complaining a lot but its 2014 and we put a man on the moon. All I'm asking is a little simplicity. It really doesn't need to be this complicated.

They will also be temporarily stored in your temporary folder after they are downloaded and installed.
