"Ineligibility Upgrade Discount"

I was reading a blog discussing how to "upgrade" to an iPhone 5s.
I have the 5 and my upgrade date is not until next September. What was discussed in the blog was the following:
(1) Retail Price for the 5s - 16GB was going to be $550 (though the writer was not sure)
(2) He was told by a Verizon rep that he would only have to pay $450 as he would be receiving an "ineligibility upgrade discount" since he was not actually entitled to the full upgrade discount at the end of his agreement.
Is this true - that Verizon offers a $100 discount off full retail for those who are not entitled to an actual upgrade at that time?
Thanks,
Steve

I'm super excited about the new iPhones too, SW1952. Occasionally, we do offer select customers different discount options based on a few things about their account. Our trade-in option http://bit.ly/GGnDDC is available for everyone to help offset the cost of a new phone. For me to confirm if you are eligible for any out-of-the-box promotions, I'll need your name and mobile number to take a look. I have sent you a follow request here in the forum. Please access https://community.verizonwireless.com/actions to accept my request and follow me back so you can send me a private message with your name and mobile number and we'll get started.
Thank you

  • Upgrade discount amount ?

I am eligible for New Every Two and my upgrade discount is $50. I was talking to a buddy who is also eligible but gets $100 discount on the same exact phones.  WTH ?   They just give some people better deals than others ?   Not fair

If he's getting the $100, he's been around for a while and has not upgraded in a long time(several years). Or he hasn't tried using the discount in a few years and doesn't realize it's been reduced to $50 on the last contract he agreed to.

  • Can i get my att upgrade discount if i pre order iphone 5 through apple?

i want to pre order new iphone 5... was wondering if i use apple.com if i will be able to get it for the upgrade discounted price or if i have to go through att to get it?

I had the same question. Yes, you can order the iPhone through the Apple online or Retail store. They have the ability to check your eligibilty during the order and apply your discounted price. I just confirmed this by calling 1-800-MY-APPLE. Additionally, you can go the online Apple Store > Shop iPhone > iPhone 5 (link below) and you can even check your eligibility there - proving that apple has that capability ;-)

  • Does the Apple store give you the Verizon upgrade discount, Does the Apple store give you the Verizon upgrade discount

Does the Apple Store give you the Verizon upgrade discount/

Absolutely not. I've confirmed this both with an brick-and-mortar Apple Store employee by phone and via chat with an online Apple Store representative. Instead, they will tell you that 'some people have called Verizon after buying the phone at the Apple Store and received the discount as a credit toward their bill. Verizon, however, flatly denies this is the case and refuses to transfer the upgrade discount to a bill. Verizon claims that you can receive the upgrade discount only by purchasing an iPhone from a Verizon corporate store or from their website.

  • What about the other upgrade discount?

My wife's phone is the Primary line, so she gets the New Every Two discount. I get an upgrade discount too, but it's not called New Every Two. They tell me it's essentially the same discount, just not called the same thing. Will that discount be dropped as well?

For what it is worth, the NE2 is a program that is a credit($30-$50) to primary lines of Family Plans and Individual lines above a certain amt($39.99 or $49.99 I believe). Other lines that do not qualify for the NE2 discount do still get a subsidized rate on their phone with a new 2 yr contract. NE2 is just an additional credit on top of this.
Additionally, annual discounts are not available for secondary lines of a Family Plan. For you to get an annual discount, you would have to pay full retail for a phone.

  • Honoring Verizon upgrade discount early?

    Hi
Last time I was at Best Buy they said they would honor my Verizon upgrade discount 2 weeks before Verizon would. I'd like to order the new DNA on the Best Buy website, will I be able to get the early upgrade discount online as well?

Although this has nothing to do with the question at hand, I would like to spend the time to brag about the DNA I bought on release day.  Every single thing about the phone (except for covered charging port) are simply fantastic.  A lot of people have been complaining about battery life, but if you aren't using the phone and it is sitting idle, the phone uses almost zero battery life.  The processing speed and data speeds are fantastic, and I'm not even mentioning the way everything seems to float off of the display.  And the new HTC Sense perfectly compliments Jelly Bean, which comes with the phone right out of the box.
Sorry, couldn't help myself.  I am madly in love with this phone.
I am a Best Buy Mobile Employee, and my opinions expressed in this post are those of my own and do not represent Best Buy Co., Inc.

  • How to get 40% upgrade discount

It’s time for me to upgrade from CS6 to CC, and I want to take advantage of the substantial discount for CS6 users.  I want to install it on my existing Macbook Pro, as well as a new Windows 7 desktop.  How do I qualify for the discount?  Do I have to have CS6 installed on both computers (I own the boxed CS6 for Mac) or do I just enter the CS6 serial number?  I tried the 30 day Creative Cloud trial on the Windows machine and it works great.  I am also thinking of reformatting the hard drive on the Macbook Pro, getting rid of all the junk and installing OSX Mavericks.  What should I expect before signing up for the Creative Cloud?

    Hi Matte Black,
You will only have to provide the qualifying serial number for CS6 which is registered in your Adobe ID. You may follow the below mentioned link to subscribe under "Plans for Individuals":

  • Just bought a Mac in Aug09 - how do I get the upgrade discount?

I just bought a Mac mini in August. I bought it through the Apple online store in Singapore. I think I'm entiled to buy the Snow Leopard upgrade for US$9.99 but I don't see where I can do this. I have seen a web page for US residents, but not for overseas residents. does the discount only apply to US buyers?

As far as i know it is just US and Canada. However i know if you are serving in the military overseas Apple has some sort of solution.

  • Upgrade discount to CS4

I think I had received an email which I can no longer find (it's been a
crazy past 2 weeks) about a limited time discount for upgrading to CS4
(Design Suite) from CS3. Can someone please provide me with the info or a
    link to it?
    Thanks.

Sorry, it is you - in this environment of rampant scams and abundant spam - who must prove yourself.
    Let's see...
You joined this forum to make exactly 1 post (the "for sale" announcement above).
    You posted inaccurate information.
You did not offer an explanation for why you want to sell a license.
You did not say how many licenses you have to sell.
You have an eMail address anyone can get without credentials.
Your eMail username and your Adobe username mismatch by a changed number.
This is not a forum on which people normally post things for sale.
I'd sure be skeptical of sending you $100 based on what I've read above.

  • Possible to save NE2 upgrade discount?

I am eligible for an upgrade with the New Every 2 discount, but am wondering if I have to use it or if I could save it. I understand that I'm not able to use it on a new 1 year contract. But thinking about future LTE devices I would really like to sign just a 1 year contract at this time and save the NE2 discount for next year when the 10 months are up. Is this possible?
    Thanks
Oh, and I'm only on an individual plan with only the lowest minutes needed, so no alternate line options.

You can wait to do your new every two upgrade.  You do not have to use it as soon as you are eligible.

  • Can I get upgrade discount sooner?

My upgrade date for my account is December 24th - is there any way to move that date up and buy a phone sooner with the discount? It's for a Christmas gift. If that's not possible, what are the chances I'll be able to actually buy and take home an activated iPhone on this day? Thanks for your help.

Well, on the bright side, I have 2 phones which were supposed to be eligible for a discounted upgrade on Dec 8 and the Verizon website started saying on Dec 2 that they NOW eligible for a discounted upgrade.
Whether or not you will be able to get the phone of your choice will depend on which ones are available and which one you want.

  • MISLEAD re: upgrade/discount program

We have been verizon customers for about 10 years, both home service & wireless. Recently (April) we applied for a discount program via the company my husband works for. Great deal right? We thought so until today when I went to upgrade my husband phone (after the 2 yr contact was up in May) I discovered that when we applied for the discount they ended our old account & started an new account WITH A NEW CONTRACT which voided his upgrade!!  Customer Service told me there is nothing she could do BUT if I go to the verizon store they MAY be able to honor the upgrade & waive the activation fee but it's up to THEM...! WHAT??? Either the company as a whole can help me or not...!  When a customer is not given accurate information it becomes impossible for us to make decisions & think poorly of a business & customer service of it as well.
Can an a representative for verizon please honor this upgrade? We will be happy to stay another 2 years on a new contract.

        Punky71,
I would be pretty surprised to find out that I couldn't use an upgrade after completing the two year contract too! This is something I definitely want to look into for you, and I really thank you for your detailed story.
If I had to take a guess as to what happened it's that you used to be the official "Account Owner." Employer discounts are great, but they do require that the discount is for the Account Owner's employer. Therefore, to receive your husband's discount we had to do an Assumption of Liability http://vz.to/1ixuDWx and make him the Account Owner before your family could receive the discount.
There are 2 different scenarios that an Assumption of Liability (AOL) could affect the contract on each of the lines.
    1. If the line has a current contract a new contract term could begin when the AOL is completed
    2. If the line does not have a contract term left on it the service would continue on a month to month basis for that line even after the AOL is processed
Did you know that the date your contract is set to end and the date that you are able to upgrade can be two separate dates? That's what can happen with an AOL because the upgrade date should not change; however, the contract may be affected if the line had an active contract on it. Very interesting, right?
This is what I want to investigate into for you. I would love to track down the old account and see when the original upgrade date for your husband's line was. If I find it needs adjusting I'll be happy to make sure that's done so he can get a new phone.

  • Contract/Upgrade/Discount timeframes

I browsed through many of the message threads, but I couldn't find anything that answers my question.
I purchased the DROID¹ on Nov 6, 2009 with a 2-year contract.  I noticed early on that I would be eligible for an upgrade 4 months short of the 2 years.
I've had my eye on the DROID3 since I first heard about it through the grapevine, and now that I'm within 4 months of my 2-year point I was wondering if there would be any difference whether I upgraded to the new phone now or if I waited until the contract ends on Nov 6th.
I plan on using the $30 discount (available now) and getting the phone with a renewal of the 2-year contract, so is there any point in waiting?

No, there isn't a point in waiting, the contract end date is just that you fulfilled your contract and you go month to month service and can cancel without an ETF.
You are eligible for full upgrade now, meaning you can get a new phone at the discounted pricing.
Upgrades come every 20 months and the contract end date is 24 months.
The only reason you would ever want to wait until the contract end date would be if you were planning on leaving or you had a line that you wanted to cancel and didn't want to pay an ETF.

  • Upgrade discount with iphone 4s

I would like to know what the discount for and iphone 4s will be once my phone is eligible for an upgrade in February. Will it still be $200 or will I be able to get a better discount when my upgrade status becomes available. Thank you in advance.

What is a NE2 Credit? So it will be $199.99 at time of upgrade availability? I tried to upgrade now and it will not give me an option for 2 yr. contract which will make it $199.99, just a month-to-month option which makes it at full price. So bottom line, in order to receive the $199.99 price I will need to wait until my upgrade eligibility day to renew my contract for 2 years correct?
