Infected zip attachment

I tried to open an infected zip attachment from an email but my imac and iphone were unable to open it... Can my iMAC and iphone be infected? (I deleted all the messages, change password, deleted all downloads I found of the attachment...)

There are no viruses that affect Macs. If your computer isn't behaving strangely, you should be OK.
How do you know the attachment was infected?

Acrobat 9 Pro can't open zip attachment in Adobe tutorial PDF

I'd like to go through one of the CSS tutorials here on the Adobe site, and have downloaded the relevant PDF which includes a .zip attachment for the source files needed to follow the tut.
Problem is, Acrobat 9 Pro keeps telling me "Acrobat cannot open the file attachment because your PDF file attachment settings do not allow this type of file to be opened."
The Acrobat Help suggested fix - setting the file to allow it to open attachments - doesn't work. I also set StuffIt Expander to be the default app for expanding zip files in the Mac OS, to no avail.
Data point: I'm running the latest update of Leopard on one of the new MBPs.

Anybody else encountered the same problem and found a fix?

No product should force security on its users without providing them any practical way to override. Web browsers, email clients, and operating systems warn you of potentially dangerous files and then let the client make the choice. What if it's a zip file from a trusted source full of harmless text documents? Too bad - because Acrobat says so. Acrobat makes no attempt to examine the zip file to see if perhaps its contents are dangerous - it just sweepingly decides zips are far too dangerous to let the user have any voice in the matter. I fundamentally disagree.
Notice that I've attached a zip file to this post. Adobe allows zips on their forums but not in their PDF documents. Adobe: If you've deemed zip files safe enough to be hosted and delivered in your own forums, why have you decided they have no place in a PDF?
I think Adobe got this one wrong - and I cast a vote that they loosen the noose on zip files on a future release. I'd like to hear other users' thoughts on this issue. Adobe is good at listening to their users - so tell them what you think on this issue - I've posted this article as a feature request here: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/520515 - reply to it that thread and share your viewpoint.

Can't open .zip attachment in Adobe Reader 8.1.2

Dear all,
In Adobe Reader 8.1.2 I can't open zip files attached to pdf files any more. I followed some hints in the knowledge base but none of them solved my problem. The registry editing suggestions for rel. 7 doesn't apply to version 8.1.2. and setting the trust option didn't help as well.
In brief what are the steps in order to allow reader 8.1.2 to open zip attached to pdf files???

You can use the suggestions for version 8.1.2. Search the registry for cDefaultLaunchAttachmentPerms.

Cannot open the zip attachment in pdf file

I am using the Adobe Acrobat 8.1.2 professional
and i attach the zip file in the pdf file
after that, the user that just use the Adobe Reader 8.1.2 cannot open the Adobe zip attachment.
Do i do any one in add the attachment or the Reader cannot open the attachment with zip file

I have the same issue. With acrobat 7, it is possible to modify a register. But what is solution for acrobat 8 ?(the register is not available anymore)
It is not possible to save the attached file to disk neither.

Opening and displaying a zip attachment in Mail

The Apple iPhone Commercials clearly show this is possible
when the user taps on the filename.zip attachement and it
opens up the file.
But on my phone it won't open a zipped powerpoint file.

I assume you're referring to the "Work Friendly" ad that shows a pages.zip attachment being opened. I have found that ad to be a little misleading. The .zip attachments open on the iPhone when they are iWork documents, but it doesn't work with MS Office files, mp3 files, etc. I'm hoping Apple will fix this since it's pretty ridiculous that Apple's preferred file compression format doesn't work on their iPhone.

Sender SOAP Adapter: zipped Payload or zipped Attachement possible?

I've a SOAP --> PI --> Proxy Scenario. As the payload of the message can become quite huge (around 10MB), I'd like to zip the message.
From the documentation it's not clear for me if the Sender SOAP Adapter can be enhanced with the standard PayloadZipBean:
"You cannot add your own modules to this adapter" --> so is it possible to use modules provided by SAP?
If it's not possible: is there another way to send the message zipped via SOAP, e.g. as a additional attachement to the SOAP message, and to unzip the attachement / use the content of it as message payload for mapping?
Please note: usage of SOAP is a must for that scenario.

In this case it would be sufficient to use Content-Encoding gzip.
This is part of the HTTP protocol and will be unzipped automatically by the HTTP framework, so you need not do anything special in SOAP adapter.

Check if your SOAP client is able to use that.

Send report output via email as zipped attachment

Is it possible for the report output to be zipped before being attached to an email when running on a windows reports_server? On unix we theoretically have the ability to modify the mail.sh shell script that performs the mail operation for reports.

This is a Reports 9i solution.
You may create a batch file that runs the report, compresses the file and invokes, say, a Java application that mails the given .zip file.
More "advanced" options would be:
You may create a pluggable destination that captures report output. Next, your code does the compresses the output file and mails it.
A simpler solution would be to run two reports. First, that creates the reports output file. In its AFTER_REPORT trigger, call Java method (thru. Java Importer), that picks up the output file and compresses it. Second, that uses XML distribution feature of Reports 9i and mails the .zip file as a file attachment using appropriate construct.

Zip the data and send as an email attachment

CFMAIL with zip-attachment

I have a function which creates some xls-files and pack it
into a zip-archive, the created file is named 1234.zip and is saved
at the server. This function works correct.
After that the created file should be send by cfmail but when
I receive the mail the attached file is named
att23423.att or similar. The file itself is correct, I can
open it with winZip but I also need the correct filename for the
attachment.
I run the same function for sending xls- or pdf-files and
this works!
Any Ideas?? I would appreciate any suggestion.

Webservice with zip attached file

Hi everyone.
I have to receive a webservice with a zip archive as an attachment.
I think that i can do this in two steps. First of all, i have to get that file and put it in a folder. Problem is that is not a plain text or a xml so i don't know how to save it.
First i use the PayloadSwapBean so i set the attachment as the payload. But now ... how can i save this ZIP file?

Your first step is right as use the PayloadSwapBean to swap the Attachement and the SOAP payload and use this in your mapping

How do I open a zip file attachment

I received a one-page file in Excell as a zipped attachment. I do not know how to open it and I don't have Excel on my iMac. I am running 10.6.8 Snow Leopard ona single user Intel iMac. HOW do I open this attachment? Thank you.

Drag the attachment to your Desktop. Double-click on the file. It should unzip automatically. If it does not then download and install The Unarchiver 3.6.1.
Although this will de-archive the attachment, there is little you can do with it without Excel or something similar.
You can try the freeware suite, Libre Office, that is functionally similar to Office 2007 for Windows except it works on Lion.
You may want to consider as well:

And, then there is Apple's iWork suite:
Pages - word processing and layout
Keynote - presentation
Numbers - spreadsheet

Zip the data and send as an email attachment

I have a requirement where I want to send the log as an email attachment. The log size is very huge about 20MB. When I try to send this log as an excel attachment through FM SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1 its throwing an error related to the attachment size. Is there any way to zip the data and send the zipped attachment?
