Infinity - (Braintree Exchange) How to source info...

My BT service is off the Braintree exchange, which has gone live with Infinity, but naturally not every BT customer is connected to a FTTC box. So, I understand that I need to be patient. However, I have contacted BT on several occasions to simply ask if they could tell me, even roughly, when I could expect Infinity to come to my line, if ever, but I simply come up against a wall of silence and “try again next week” advice. I have also asked BT if I took their Broadband (I’m currently with Pipex) and then upgraded to Infinity within the initial contract period would I be penalised? The response has been, “I don’t know”. Infinity connection issue; I’m in the middle of what is an Infinity triangle which from point to point is no more than 300mts, around that periphery are neighbours of mine with Infinity access so I’m trying to establish why the sub-cabinet (If there is such a thing) that my line originates from is not Infinity enabled? There is a newly installed and very large green FTTC box some 600mts away from me which I think all the “triangle” connections come from (And I would have thought mine) and I assume that feeds the more local sub-cabinets, though they are not visible surface cabinets. Also, I am sure that the existing telephone lines for those around me with Infinity actually need to pass by my home. Sorry to ramble, but does anyone have any advice on how to get information, short of collaring an Open Reach engineer when I next spot one, on the technical aspects of the routing to/from an FTTC box and if I’m on a sub-cabinet that may not be capable of being connected, and a BT contact that may be able to assist? Many thanks, David.

Stephanie,
I'm up to speed on the issue of exchange live but only some cabinets being live, but as I've said in my post the primary cabinet at the end of my road is new and is being used for FTTC. What I can't quite fathom is why the FTT cabinet is being used for those who live on my road and roads that spur off it to get Infinity but it can't be use for me. Its a bit like the water main running down my road and everyone is tapping into it but I can't. Those houses before mine, those after and those opposite and behind me get fresh water from that main but I can't. I suppose it's all about logic, I can't understand it; there may well be a simple answer but BT simply can't explain it to me. If I were told that I can't have Infinity because of X then that's fine, but I'm not being told anything other than my telephone number and post code say "no" but your neighbours are can. As I've said, I'd just like to know why I can't access Infinity. I'm sure you can imagine, it's frustrating when neighbours have Infinity and BT email me telling me I can have it only to be told "no" when I call in. Finally, two points. I live in Great Notley which is a new'ish development and those Infinity installations I talk about are part of the same development as me; Another neighbour of mine went live with Infinity yesterday. I asked him to ask the Open Reach Engineer if there was a reason why his neighbour round the corner (Me, 150mts away) could not get Infinity. The Engineer replied by saying he could see no reason why as it's all live in the area but that the problem could be down to BT's post code checker.
The Infinity checker result is below - as you can see its "not currently due to be rolled out in my area".
If you are able to ascertain the reason why I can't get Infinity I'd be very grateful and I'll promptly sign up for BT TBB and await FTTC roll out to my number.
Regards,
David.

  • How Open source Flex looks to a mid level developer

    Here is my response to a post Matt made on a blog:
    THe whole post:
    http://blog.simb.net/2009/01/19/take-flex-back-for-the-community/
    @Matt
    1st off thanks, now my input:
    The crux of your criticism seems to be that the process that we use for decision-making is closed its certainly not how we feel
    Unfortuntly, this seems like a case of bad commuication by Adobe and the Flex team. If notable community experts get the impression of closed doors, then *certainly* the rest of us get this impression as well.
    but there has been very little participation from the community so far
    Im a solid dev, and not an expert but I can contribute in things such as testing and low level optimization; But, the Adobe open source site is a galactic disaster and discourages me from getting invloved. It has so many webpages that just go around in circles - filled with text that is verbose, this frustrates me to a great deal. As opposed to somehting straight foreward like:
    http://framework.zend.com/download/latest
    or
    http://code.google.com/p/papervision3d/
    Everything is here and easily notable. I avoid the seamingly endless pages and confusion. If I want to get to the Flex dev mailing list I have to register, then choose the lists, add the lists to my account. go though my account prefs read some directions.. then set up some other preferences..jeeeezzzz. If I want to submit a feature request I am directed to create another login for some Bug and Issue management? HUH? I thought I was submitting a featue request.
    Right on papervisions google HOME page I see Getting started > Papervision3D Mailing List.
    Next when I finially do get to Flex SVN, this trunk. is nothing like I have seen.what IS all this stuff and where do I go to learn about it? There are countless subfolders filled with things I vaguely understand and if I want to learn what it is. where do I go? Is there even a src folder?
    Here is a classic example.
    Flex trunk Read Me:
    http://opensource.adobe.com/svn/opensource/flex/sdk/trunk/README.txt
    vs.
    Zend Trunk Read me:
    http://framework.zend.com/svn/framework/standard/trunk/README.txt
    *What* is the Flex team thinking with this?
    I just spent 5 minutes or so twirling through all these SVN directories and Adobes website and I am clueless. I feel like the project is unessarily complex and disorganized - even if it isnt. This just convinced me to delete my Flex sdk bookmark on my SVN client.
    Adobe just lost one potential contributor to Flex SDK.
    We have another idea that were bouncing around that I hope to share in a week or two but wont get into now.
    Saying stuff like this is what gives people the impression of closed. Why not post these ideas the Flex team has? Even if it is stupid or incomplete
    Thats the whole point.

    Wow, thanks for your response. This is great.<br /><br />I now understand that I had a combination of prejudice and ignorance  <br />when regarding Adobe Open Source. Perhaps my ignorance on these  <br />particulars is something that other devs encounter ( that whole  <br />perception thing ).   I have chatted with people who consider the Flex  <br />SDK and Flex Builder... not the same... but fused together so much  <br />that it'd be just crazy to try and use one with out the other   When I  <br />mention using Flex without Flex Builder.... people get that glazed  <br />over look in their eyes....( FYI I'm a FDT man, but am keeping a close  <br />eye on the new Flex Builder )<br /><br />I'll use Zend as an example ( it's the best that I can come up with )  <br />but I feel like there is a difference between the open source  <br />framework and Zend Studio ( commercial software ). Anyway, I'm really  <br />excited about how you've responded to all this.  I have more ideas,  <br />but Ill sit on them and think it through and get ready for next weeks  <br />meeting.<br /><br />Thanks,<br /><br />Alan<br /><br /><br />On Jan 23, 2009, at 1:31 AM, Matt Chotin wrote:<br /><br />> A new message was posted by Matt Chotin in<br />><br />> General Discussion --<br />>  How Open source Flex looks to a mid level developer<br />><br />> I've delayed responding to this because frankly I'm not sure what to  <br />> say for much of it.  The first thing I have to point out is that  <br />> many of the things you mention are related to Flex Builder and not  <br />> the Flex SDK, which is the part that is open source. • How the source list is created automatically

    Hi all,
    Cud any one tell me is there any way to create the source list automatically. as per my knowledge we need to give the tick for the plants we want the source list should be made mandatory while creating the material master.
    How can be make the Source list field for the Purchasing view mandatory while creating the material master .

    Hi,
    You can have the system generate a source list for a material automatically. The system offers you the possibility of quickly entering or updating all source list records for a given source list.
    With this procedure, a source list record can be created for each info record and/or each outline agreement item for one or more materials.
    You can create the source list for several materials (collective procedure) or a single material (individual procedure).
    Prerequisites
    Before you create source list records, consider the following:
    For which materials/plants are the source list records to be generated?
    Are only outline agreement items, only info records, or both be taken into account? (Decision only in the case of the collective procedure.)
    What is the validity period of the source list records to be generated?
    Do source list records already exist for the materials for which you want to create source list records? If so, you must decide whether the old records:
    May not be changed
    Are to be deleted
    Are to be excluded from the validity period of the generated source list records
    Activities
    Collective Procedure
    With this procedure, you generate the source list for several materials.
    Choose Master data Source list Follow-on functions  Generate.
    Enter the necessary data.
    Create the source list.
    A list of the source records to be generated is displayed. Already-existing source list records whose validity periods are thus changed are also listed.
    Select the source list records you want to include in the source list.
    Fixed or blocked source list records: You can mark a source list record as "fixed" or block it. A "fixed" source represents the preferred source of supply, whereas a "blocked" source is one from which you are not allowed to order. Select the desired source list record. Then choose Edit  Fix, or Edit Block.
    Choose  to store the selected source list records for the displayed material in the source list.
    Exception messages are displayed by the system. Press ENTER to continue the saving process.
    Individual Procedure
    With this procedure, you generate the source list for a single material.
    Choose Master data  Source list  Maintain. The initial screen for the source list appears.
    Enter the material and plant number. Then press ENTER to display the overview screen.
    Choose Edit  Generate records.
    In the dialog box which appears, enter the validity period of the source list records to be created.
    First determine how existing source list records are to be treated if their validity periods overlap with the one specified. To do so, set the appropriate indicator in the dialog box. Press ENTER . The source list is created.
    Click  to save the source list.

  • [solved] How to source a specific commit in a Git package?

    Hi there,
    I wonder whether it is possible to use a certain Git commit in the source array of a package.
    Example:
    freshplayerplugin-git
    For debugging purposes I would like to use the commit
    8ff0bd0282205802c482c7d47f216feb0d3394a9
    I tried the following in the source array and it successfully built the package:
    source=('git://github.com/i-rinat/freshplayerplugin.git#commit=8ff0bd0282205802c482c7d47f216feb0d3394a9')
    However, I have no idea how to detect whether it actually built from the specific commit or just skipped the #commit appending.
    Does anyone know how to source a specific commit?
    Thanks ahead!

    Correct syntax for Git repository as a source would be:
    source=('git+https://<repo-url>#[commit|tag|branch]=<ref>')
    To verify it's building correct tree, and moreover to keep sane when dealing with multiple trees I like following pkgver (check https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/VC … Guidelines):
    pkgver() {
    cd "$srcdir/<repo-name>"
    printf 'r%s.%s' "$(git rev-list --count HEAD)" "$(git rev-parse --short HEAD)"
    producing something like:
    <package-name-git>-r4.34e558d-1-any.pkg.tar.xz
    Also just going to fetched Git tree and checking out what's there is an option (look for makepkg branch), for example:
    $ git show-ref
    34e558d2ef8b2cae212da3ab3f74513a99f9ee1b refs/heads/makepkg
    86350ab5a3a209de4339ef04d75d27c7bd399746 refs/heads/master
    86350ab5a3a209de4339ef04d75d27c7bd399746 refs/remotes/origin/HEAD

    Hi,
    Yes, you need store data to table, and fetch it when page is opened.
    Simple way is create table with few columns and e.g. with CLOB column and then create form based on that table.
    Then modify item types as you like, e.g. use HTML editor for CLOB column

    Hi,
    To define view and to make it default
    Goto SAP IMG > Sales and Distribution > Sales Support (CAS) > Sales Summary > Define Reporting Views (Tcode:OVCD).
    To assign default user to the view.
    Goto SAP IMG > Sales and Distribution > Sales Support (CAS) > Sales Summary > Assign Default View To User (Tcode:OVCC).
    To assign Elements of SAPScript "SD-SALES-SUMMARY" to information Blocks To A View use
    Goto SAP IMG > Sales and Distribution > Sales Support (CAS) > Sales Summary > Assign Information Blocks To A View (Tcode:OVCB).

  • How to get info from a layer which is  applied  with styles  ?

    How to get info from a  layer  ?  such  as   (  apply  style  or  not , which  effect  have  applied  on  it  etc..)
    I  really  can't  solve  it , Who can hlep me..  By the way , I 'am  using  CS version.

    xtools/xlib/Styles.js has a set of functions for working with layer styles. I do not know if it works with CS. I wrote it several years ago for either CS or CS2. If this doesn't work, then nothing will. The script retrieves a layer's style by saving it to disk then parsing the file for the desired ActionDescriptor.
    There is a function at the bottom of the file that tests the Styles.js API.
    Styles.test = function() {  var doc = app.activeDocument;
      var layer0 = doc.artLayers[0];
      var gdesc = Styles.getLayerStyleDescriptor(doc, layer0);
      if (!gdesc) {
        alert("There is no layer style associated with the layer");
        return;
    //   this will set the layer style to another layer.
    //   var layer1 = doc.artLayers[1];
    //   Styles.setLayerStyleDescriptor(doc, layer1, gdesc);

  • How to maintain info in the Toshiba ReelTime that I keep on toolbar?

    I hope I'm in the right place :-)
    I would like to understand, for once and for all, how to maintain info in the Toshiba ReelTime that I keep on my toolbar.
    Whether pictures or documents on my dasktop: when I send them to documents they are lost from ReelTime and it says "the file for this shortcut no longer exists."
    How can I avoid that because what is the point of ReelTime otherwise?
    Thank you.

    Hi
    Toshiba Reeltime is a free app showing you a visual timeline of your recently accessed files using graphic thumbnails like movie frames, so you can get to your files faster.
    The Reeltime makes easier to search for files up to 5000 recently used documents in a timeline. The presentation will be in reverse chronological order, so the most recently used files would appear firstly. Filters allow you to limit the search to photos, text documents or other types.
    > Whether pictures or documents on my dasktop: when I send them to documents they are lost from ReelTime and it says "the file for this shortcut no longer exists."
    This happens because the place of the files has changed
