Infinity Home Service. Not worth the price

Had Infinity home installed in March 2015.  Used a coupon promising no charge with 2 year contract.  Infinity took over my existing alarm and only provided 4 cameras and an interface.  For this, they added a $400 installation fee that magically appeared on bill. Be careful what you commit to.  System has been undependable.  Technician had to come back 3 times to get fully functional. Cameras are real time only.  If something happens while you are away, data is no where to be found.  Would advise looking on line for Belkin cameras that record and store.  At less than $100 per camera, they are much cheaper than Infinity's "Free" cameras

You can actually connect just about any wireless network card to the 2.4GHz network. This is the bit that's backward compatible. You might have wanted to try out the AC connection via the 5GHz network hence requiring you a newer and more updated wireless adapter. This new wireless technology offers faster and more reliable connections making it ideal for media streaming. Netflix should work better if the device were connected to the 5GHz network on AC mode or if it were wired in (connected via ethernet).
If the device continues to intermittently function, there may be a firmware issue. Upgrade to the latest firmware version available on the EA6500 Support Page. Remember to reset and reconfigure the router after the upgrade to ensure flawless transition to the new firmware.

  • Is a MacBook Pro w/ Retina display worth the price?

    Apple community-
Looking at purchasing portability for school- going to work on an MFA in graphics/web/new media, and need some assistance.  I've an iMac from 2007, seems to run flawlessly, but looking at options for taking school with me while at work- I'm currently travelling five different states in my current position.  The new MacBook Pro with Retina display looks stunning, albeit expensive, but has many features that worry me.
For instance, everything is completely bolted/soldered/non-upgradeable, so any desire of modification needs to be purchased pre-production, right?  Also, the big issue with their PCIe "Flash based" storage... exactly what is this, and why is it so freaking expensive?  I've read different reports on Apple using various manufacturers, so not every MacBook as the same storage model, no third party attempts at upgrades, etc..  If I'd like to install numerous, monstrous programs, such as the entire Adobe Creative Suites, 3D Max, Maya, Final Cut, and so forth, I'll need a high capacity memory drive, as I assume most, if not all of these, need a root drive to install, and not simply an external hard drive.  I still make CDs/DVDs, so a SuperDrive is another $80.
Chatting with an Apple representative, she stated that there is "only one model that will run my software at peak performance," which was the 15-inch model, starting at $2k; also, my software needed a "dedicated graphics card,"  I'm not too certain that it needs all that, and a high-end PC laptop could certainly run all of my demands- but let's face it, this is an Apple discussions community, and I'm plain simply accustomed to working on an Apple computer.  Plus, I don't really care for Windows 8.
Should I possibly aim to purchase an older model used, something without Retina, but with more storage?  Is Retina that big of a deal for a laptop?  I also considered the possibility of just toting a Mac Mini with a 13-inch Cintiq tablet; though it does need a constant power supply, it's still quite portable.
Thoughts?  Am I just overthinking this?  I've been expecting a MacBook to be expensive, but this could be pushing it a bit.
    Cheers!

    guiparent,
whether it’s worth the price or not is an entirely subjective opinion. My own choice was to buy a used non-Retina 13-inch Mid 2010 MacBook Pro, and replace its hard drive with a SSD; but since I don’t use graphic-intensive apps such as the Adobe Creative Suite, my own choice would most likely not be best for you. Given your graphic design background, if you find the non-Retina displays sufficient for your needs, I’d recommend that you consider a used 15-inch Mid 2012 MacBook Pro. That model has memory sockets, so you can replace/upgrade the RAM if needed; its internal disk can be replaced by/upgraded with any 2.5-inch 9.5-mm-high SATA hard disk or SSD; and it has a built-in SuperDrive.

  • Worth the price and more

This is a replacement for the older Motion. You can open older project in this version just as you have been able to in previous versions. The new keyer actually works and for $50 is is well worth it.
    TOnyTOny

Thank you for this info. I'm glad Motion 5 can open Motion 4 projects (that's truly a relieve! ).
For me to know if it is really worth the price, I'd also need to know if Motion projects can be opened with Final Cut Pro 3 (not FCPX). And by that I mean if I'll still get the interaction there was between FCP3 and Motion 4, or would I have to export every project to a movie and then import it into FCP3? I know I'll lose the new features like rigging and thinks like that, but...

  • Update 10.2.1 is NOT worth the new features!

Upgraded to 10.2.1 yesterday and it's definitely NOT worth the new features for me.  The phone runs MUCH slower and drains the battery MUCH faster.  You'll need to turn off BlackBerry Link (in the settings menu) when not in use to keep from recharging your device every 5-6 hours.  STAY AWAY!

Well,i read a few threads about people complaining and stuff.BUT I upgraded and restored data through PC.and in other threads Sanders said it might take a while for BlackBerry Link to finish syncing OTA.
Just be patient alright,Z10s are speed demons if you ask me

  • Is the Apple Universal Dock worth the price?

Hi everyone, I was thinking of buying a Universal Dock. What do you think of it? Is it worth the price tag of € 49? I know that you get a sync cable, USB power adapter and apple remote (which alone have a value of 20+30+20=70) but what are your thoughts?
    Thanks a lot in advance

    Thanks for your fast answer
True, although one could argue that you can connect an external speaker without the dock, the dock simply looks nicer.
But, you can't control your iPod with the Apple remote without the dock
So.. I guess it's worth the price tag

  • Requisitioners do not know the price of the items - Work Around Required

    Hi,
The users who raise the Requisions at my company, they do not know the price of the items to be procured at that time. To get the prices you need to go through RFQ and quotation cycle which comes after raising the Requisition
So the requests are raised to the Procurement department via emails and consequently the RFQ and Quotation flows are handled manually outside the system. Once the prices are finalized they are placed on the Requisition and the PO Autocreated.
We would like to go through the whole flow in PO Module. Can you one suggest a work around or solution to the problem
    Thanks

at one of my clients, implementation was going on
and they had the same issue
the workaround sandeep gave is practicable but if you see the standard way, a requisition is made first followed by an RFQ, quote and finally a PO
But some ppl dont want to go into RFQ to quote cycle
so what we did at that company was that the users raising requisitions unaware of the price entered a zero amount, and some used the list price that defaults from item master.
The buyer who is actually aware of the market enters the price there for that item ..If he is not sure about the price due to any reason, suppose due to unstable market or high fluctuations in price than he negotiated price on phone with thier routine suppliers for years and got the best price.
if purchasing history is seen, it is based on PO
If item price history or average trend is seen, its based on PO
all of the baove is justa work around since you asked for one
well there are other workarounds too
    hope this helps youu

  • My Droid Razr Maxx froze last night. It is not worth the money.

This is my 2nd Droid since June. The first I had for 2 weeks and the battery was draining in less than 24 hours. This one I got in the 3rd week of June. I bought it because I wanted a good phone camera - I rarely use data, it is used mainly for calls and texting . I DID send a pic to Facebook last weekend, and could not log out of Facebook. This might be the cause of following freezing, don't know). The screen started going crazy occasionally after having it a month. It does the same thing other people have posted - opens apps, opens text messages and types, has made calls, etc. It has also frozen. Last night it froze on me. I tried turning it off and the screen went blank. The battery was not low, but I plugged it in anyway - it didn't show that it was charging so I unplugged it and hoped it would be ok in the morning. Sometime in the night it beeped indicating I had a text. It did it again around 6:30 a.m.. When I got up, it still had the blank screen and the message light was flashing. I couldn't get a screen. I plugged it in to charge it and after app. 15 minutes my screen came up but it was still frozen. I've had two phone calls I couldn't answer. After app. an hour the screen went blank again, and the red circling image indicating it's turning on started and has now been running for about 30 minutes. I no longer have a land line and am going to have to drive 27 miles to a store to get it fixed when I need to be preparing for the coming hurricane. I'm posting this as additional evidence that something is wrong with these phones, and they are not worth the money.

When the RAZR/ RAZR MAXX freezes, you can hold down both the Power and the Volume Down button at the same time for about 7-10 seconds, until it flashes. This is what is called a "Soft Reset". You will not lose anything because of this reset.  As far as your battery time, 24 hours between charges might be considered good. It all depends on what apps you have installed, the location and signal of the towers for coverage, etc. I take mine off the charger around 5:00 AM, and when I go to bed at 10:00 PM, I am usually between 30-60%, depending on my usage during the day.

  • Not worth the trouble

With all the bugs and installation errors it is not worth the trouble to download until Adobe offers an new beta version.

What particular bugs and installation issues are you experiencing? If you could give specifics, please, including OS etc.then perhaps you can be helped.

  • Worth the price?

I'm looking for a new laptop, and really like apple computers, but can't ignore the fact that the apple macbook pros cost basically double that of laptops by other companies of equivalent specs. Is it really worth it? I can buy 2 HP/Toshiba/Gateway/Compaq/Dell laptops for the price of one apple, and I'm not sure I can justify the price difference. Can anyone make a convincing argument?

  • Apple Care and 1:1 - worth the price?

I am buying my first ever Mac (wither MBA or Pro -retina).  Life long windows user.  What do you think about the 1:1 service and the Apple Care?  Do I need them?  I live in NYC so there are several Apple stores in town.
    Thanks

Apple care is worth it if you have a mechanical problem with the MBP.  If there are no mechanical issues that develop, then it is not worth is, simply put.
The fact is that Apple Care is priced so that Apple  will NOT lose money on repairs, so statically it is is not in your favor.  You have to balance that with 'peace of mind' as you would insurance.
Note that Apple care does not cover damage to the MBP whether intentional or accidental.  Should you drop the MBP, there is NO coverage.  It cover manufacturing defects only.
If you are very much a novice to computers, 1 to 1 has virtue.  Otherwise most of your issues can be addressed in these forums.  An inherent problem with 1 to 1 is that there will be a very uneven quality of the instructors.  You may get a good one, you may not.  Luck of the draw.  Having knowledge and being able to teach others do not go hand in hand.
    Ciao.

  • 3.5- worth the price?

I have a G4 iBook and a Core Duo iMac.
FCE HD runs, but slowly, on the iMac.
Does the upgrade really offer enough to justify the price? (Yes, I've read Apple's promo lit)

It all depends on your needs, Ron.
Being able to keyframe filters is no big deal as there are workarounds and most users probably don't want to do it in any case!
Dynamic RT previews are not essential as you can see the effect on a still frame or if you want movement you can use the left and right arrow keys.
However, if you have an Intel Mac, the ability to run the program at full speed (together with the above facilities) is well worth the upgrade price.
Most G4 and G5 users would probably be better off sticking with FCE3.
    Ian.

  • ProcessOrder API not populating the Price from the pricing attribute setup.

    Hi,
I am having a problem while adding a line on the existing order through the Oe_Order_pub.Process_order API. A line is added but the pricing is not fetched using the pricing attribute.
I have passed calculate_Price_flag=’Y’ but in vain. I am not passing price list id but instead want to use a pricing attribute that will fetch the price on the item automatically.
But, it is working when I am calling this procedure from TOAD but when it is called through the Workflow, a line is added but no price is fetched.
Could anyone help me out on this? Here’s the code:

Another striking feature here is, the API works absolutely well for the Internal Orders (Book--> Release-->Ship) but price is not pulled for the External Drop Ship Orders.

  • Is mac mini worth the price

i am thinking of get a mac mini in the near future i am wondering if it is worth the 599 canadian and i have a old monitor that uses vga and i have usb keyboard and usb mouse that are designed for windows and desktop pc

I have wanted a Mac since the first version of OS X came out. (Before that, I didn't really care for 'em.) I've been a PC guy since the early 80's and have used all versions of DOS from 2.11 up, all versions of Windows and several flavors of Linux. I messed with MacOS back in college (pre X), and it was *okay,* but after OS X, I knew I wanted one. I finally got the opportunity less than two weeks ago ;-)
Anyway, I purchased the i7 2.3GHz  4GB model and absolutely love it!! I have a 22" 1080p display I use with it (via HDMI) and my Windows keyboard and wireless mouse. If  necessary, you can purchase a VGA adapter to use your old monitor. I replaced one of the two 1TB drives with an SSD and my boot time from hitting the power switch to the login screen is 11 seconds. All my apps open nearly instantaneously, and frankly OS X is just a nice looking and powerful OS. (This is DEFINITELY recommended, but not necessary. It ran fine, albeit a bit slower with the HDD.)   As a side, I'm using the 1TB drive I took out as an external Time Machine drive.
I will be purchasing a mechanical keyboard made for Mac, as I don't really care for the chiclet-style keyboards Apple currently offers. (But to keep cost down, the PC keyboard works just fine.)
To summarize: Yes, it's definitely worth the money, but I suggest getting a full-throw keyboard (or use your existing one) if you do a lot of typing, as I do.
