I have the infinity package which promises up to 40mb, I'm out in the sticks a bit in a small village but we have an exchange about a mile away and our nearest cabinet is within 500m
the speed into the house is a steady 38-39mb, using ookla and BT wholesale tests
during the day the speed from our router to devices is close to the speed to the house (90% plus), it makes some but not much difference how many devices and wired or wireless
by 5.00pm the speed from the router drops to under 10 mb steadily falling to under 2 mb by 8.00pm (usually checked using BT speed checker on wired ethernet PC)
I've had an engineer(!) out who has tested my line and found no fault (told them the line wasn't faulty)
They;ve 'fiddled' remotely with my router setting on at least 4 occasions
they claim to have reset the line twice and reconfigured my connection to the exchange at least once.
I think BT are strangling my throughput but they deny it
I've had my 14th call with them tonight, with no success in sight.
they've made endless promises but not solved the problem and still want £330 from me to terminate my contract!
I think BT should get themselves a black mask as a swag bag. ROBBERS!

I'm told there is something happening TODAY at my exchange (caergwrle) but that doesnt explain 5 weeks of trouble. there was no exchange problem until 3 days ago!

I'm disgusted with Verizon right now and want out
I can't believe what Verizon has done to me over the last couple of months. It can't even be legal. I've had Verizon cell phones for 12 years.
A couple of months ago, I casually called out of curiosity to see how much it would cost to upgrade my phone. The guy I spoke to, "Kyle," told me if I were to upgrade my Omnia to an Omnia 2, it would cost $70 after an instant rebate and credit I had on my account for a 1 year extension. I was only casually interested, but he convinced me, and I verbally agreed to a 1 year extension, (My contract was up) for sixty nine dollars and change. I should have paid it then, but asked him to just bill my account. Everything was very very clear, and if it wasn't how he explained it to me, I certainly wouldn't have agreed to it.
My next bill, I got charged $289 for the phone. I couldn't believe it... I spent 3 hours (no exaggeration) talking to different customer service guys trying to get this fixed. They looked in the computer and said there were no notes about the conversation and all said "Sorry, nothing we can do." I asked to talk to supervisors, and they said they would call me back, and never did. Importantly, I was also promised an "instant rebate," and not only didn't get it, but didnt get a mail in either!!
I was back on the phone the next day, pleading my case to customer service again, for my entire lunch hour, and the best suggestion, at least from the ones that didn't put me on hold indefinitely, was that I could upgrade to the 2 year contract and they would credit my account $125. So, the verbal contract that I agreed to on the phone was enough to lock me in for a year, but the price they agreed to bill me was not legally binding apparently. I tried to tell them I never agreed to pay that price, and certainly wouldn't have!! Nobody cared. I told them I wanted out, and I wanted to send back the phone, which I didn't need, and had only casual interest in. I was ignored.
Stressed out of my mind, and only wanting what was clearly promised to me on the phone, or to simply nullify the contract, I called again that night, and a much friendlier cust service guy told me the same, that I had to upgrade to 2 years, and that they would send me a mail in rebate, and it would knock the price down. Defeated, I agreed. I recieved a rebate with an "Invalid purchase date" and am screwed out of that as well. Here I am with a phone I was ILLEGALLY baited into buying, never wanted for 2 years, and have no recourse whatsoever.
And of course, now the Droid X comes out... That would have been worth 2 years, but I'm screwed because of a lie, baited with a false price, which was a mistake on their part that I became responsible for against my will ,jerked around for many hours on the phone, and topped off with an invalid rebate. My brother and I have shared an account for five years, and now that I'm moving out, I want to create my own separate account but still want to be able to play the music I've purchased over five years.
In order to continue to play and sync the music you purchased with your old account, you'll need to authorize your new computer/iTunes library to do so. You can do this by choosing Store -> Authorize This Computer and then entering in your old account credentials.
That's all you should need to. Then just create your own account and start purchasing and using it the same you have with the old one.

How do I remove a credit/debit card from my account? I ask because I currently have a VISA gift/debit card with 50 dollars on it, but the money has run out so I want to usea new card. Also, there is no 'None' check option for payment type on my account.
Depending on how you created your account, "None" may or may not be an option. I believe it has something to do with whether the account was made through an App Store request or the regular iTunes Store. For example, my account allows no card but my father's doesn't allow there to be no card.
To change the card, go to your account settings and change the information to your new card, and hit save. -
I want to plg my apple tv in to a projector but i want to break the sound out to a seperate audio solution. Is there a lead that I can use? The sound system has 2 x phono connections?
The sound can already be "broken out" by using the optiocal cable jack. That, of course, assumes your audio input is capable of optical inputs. Someone used my email address to create an Apple ID. I logged in to appleid.apple.com and I changed the password because it is freaking me out. I want to report it to Apple but dont know how to go about it. I want the Apple ID deleted. How do I go about that? Is there also a way to ensure that the email address wont be used again by this person to create another Apple ID?
This is compounded actually by a Gmail issue. I have had this email address for ages, since the start of the beta. But lately in the last year or so, I am getting mail that seems to be intended for other people but it is using my email address. I have a JVC video camera and it records the video to a .mod format (which Apple devices don't support). I figured out how to get them to iPhoto using iMovie but I want to be able to get the videos on my iPad 2 but it won't let it sync. Any help?
Thanks for that. Much more constructive than the last comment. It's only the restriction code I can't recall, not the access passcode. So I can currently access the device, just not age restricted content. Does that's make a difference? I also wondered if anyone knew how many attempts you get to try to get it right. Now tried 21 times and so far nothing bad has happened but I am concerned I'll eventually be completely locked out of the device. That doesn't seem in the spirit of things though. Surely it's foreseeable that a child could repeatedly try to guess the code so I can't see that it would be right to lock the device down completely in that circumstance, particularly if the access code is being typed in correctly every time.
