Infinity2 dl 1Mbps up is fine :/

So my Infinity has been ok since install a while ago. Recently dropped from 50 to about 30 then yesterday dropped to about 4 down to 1.1
Up is between 14-18 so on target.
Advance test ip profile is 63Mbps
So I spent 5 hours on online chat support testing testing . Usual issue of can't do anything you must be wired to router. Made no difference.
Sent a screenshot of the 2nd part of the test speedtest.btwholesale.com and tech said wasn't a BT test! Hmmm
So the lines apparently fine after they have run tests and they can't do much more and will call back tomorrow to try another speedtest as it was showing busy.
Fingers crossed it's ok tomorrow more like they don't have a clue what's wrong and keep getting me to turn stuff off and re run speed tests :/
They said if I request an engineer it's my cost!
Now I'm not daft and do my companies it so know enough to suspect they have messed something up somewhere but how can the line show to fine:/
Nothing new or changed in my house.
Seems to have happened to others this.
Any suggestions?

Have you checked if there are any problems with the BT network in your area.
https://www.bt.com/consumerFaultTracking/public/faults/tracking.do?pageId=31
If your IP Profile is where you would expect it to be this would tend to indicate that DLM (Dynamic Line Management) has not detected any faults on your line and lowered your speeds. I could be a fault at the exchange or a fault with homehub or modem.
Do you have a separate Openreach modem. If you do you could bypass your homehub to rule it out.
You can make a direct connection from your PC to the modem which will eliminate the homehub. Follow this guide to do that. Use your computer as normal and run a speed test. If it comes back OK then you know it's a faulty hub.
Step 1: Remove the homehub from the modem
Step2: Connect your pc/laptop into the modem using LAN1 port
Step3: Open network and sharing centre on windows and click set up a new connection or network
Step4: Connect to the internet then click make a new connection Broadband PPPoE
Step5: Username [email protected] and the password as BT
Step6: connect, If it doesn't,keep pressing try again until it does.

HELP ! HELP ! HELP ! "An error has occurred while downloading software for your device. Please verify your internet connection or try again later, if the problem persists." appears while attempting to upgrade or install BlackBerry Device Software. upgrading my Z10 OS to 10.3 on both (link & web). but facing same problem again and again. plz help. internet speed is 1mbps and working fine.

I suggest you try the very clean and very forceful AutoLoader method:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-10-OS-Device-Software/Upgrading-OS10-devices-using...
Beware that it is completely destructive...the device will be "like new"...no data, no apps, no accounts, etc. Be sure you take a full backup first, as well as make full manual documentation of all apps, accounts, configurations, etc. Sometimes a restore reintroduces the very corruption one is trying to eliminate, and manual reconfiguration is necessary.
You can also use this to fall back to a prior OS if you desire...you can install any OS level for which you can find an AutoLoader. (Hint...search over on the CB site!)
Good luck and let us know!

  • Fine for a short time after rebooting homehub, but...

    Hi,
I have had BTBroadband for a year and a half and had no problems at all, it's why I pay more for BT than cheaper providers, however, the past few weeks I am starting to wonder...
I have been getting low speeds (<0.1mbps  and very high pings upto 848ms) for the past 3 weeks. This is very easily fixed, I reboot the home hub and it's fine for anything from 10minutes to 2 hours with download speeds of around 6.5mbps and ping of around 30ms. However, I can't keep rebooting the homehub all the time.
The homehub has been replaced and still having the same problem. I have only one phone socket in the house so it is in the master socket, with a filter and only one telephone directly plugged into that. I am currently using all wired connections, however, I have tried wireless too. The slow speed is affecting my PS3, PC and BTVision.
I spent an hour on Sunday on the phone to support with yet another person with a very strong accent that is hard to understand and she did a remote desktop thing... she did a speed test to bt's servers and it said all was fine, even though (speedtest.net records shown below) it obviously isn't. She could also tell from how slow her connection to my computer was, but because the BT test said it was fine....anyway....then she started a disk cleanup (on the wrong drive) on my computer...I tried telling her the problem is not the computer because it affects all devices....
I used speedtest.net for my speed tests, and it's results match exactly my experiences....ever tried playing a first person shooter with 800ms ping?
I'd appreciate feedback from other users or BT staff because I am getting nowhere with your telephone support robots and am getting very close to cancelling my service. My logging of speedtest is at the bottom.
Update : I've just spoken to someone in priority care who said something about turning interleaving off....and that it should be ok in a day or two. Is this a fob off or for real?
Edit : ...are my download speeds dropping today because it thinks the line is bad from all the reboots?
    Thanks, Russ

  • Infinity2 hell

    Please help...
I've had infinity2 for about 3 weeks. Expected dl 79, up 19 as I'm less than 100m from the cabinet. Initially everything fine bt speed test gave me 77, 19 working great. Slowly the speed started to drop eventually at 50 dl. Then on Sunday the HH5 started to flash all colours and no internet. Reported the fault on Sunday afternoon and told then fault would be fixed within 48hrs. Received email starting engineer allocated and wouldn't be fixed until Thursday!? Internet not working Tuesday afternoon so phoned again, told needed an exchange engineer and would need another 24hrs but would be fixed Wednesday afternoon. Wednesday afternoon no internet... Phoned again now told engineer had been allocated (again?) and would be working on the problem Thursday, Friday and Monday. The problem would be resolved on Monday 23rd. Whilst calmly discussing the matter with the BT customer service staff my wife phoned me at work to excitedly tell me an engineer had phoned the landline and explained it was fixed and everything should be working ok again. I passed this onto the customer service worker and he was unable to give me a sensible explanation. On returning home I did a speed test and my dl is 34 and ul 10' ping is 68ms.
What's going on?!? Every time I phone I get a different answer they really don't seem to know what's going on. How do I get this problem resolved and my speed restored. Any suggestions would be warmly received.

    Ok managed this:

  • EA4500 - Wifi Fine on Everything but my laptop

Hi - I just bought a Linksys EA4500 wireless router and I'm having some poblems.
I've set it up fine and it works, but via wifi on my laptop I'm getting close to zero download speed.  I've been to Speedtest.net and I get good ping and upload, but download is literally nothing - 0.01 to 0.1Mbps.  the laptop works fine hard wired to the router.  Everything else wifi also works fine including my iPhone5, TV, AppleTV, PS3, HP Printer....... just my laptop doesn't work.
The wifi card in my laptop is Broadcom Dual Band N.  Never had issues on any other router before.  I've tried changing wifi settings on the router and laptop and there is no change.  The router came with old firmware, so I updated it (to the online system), but still no change.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.
PS.  Not sure why I don't have a screen name!

    hillary681 wrote:
The issue is quite isolated as it is only happening on one device. Have you updated the laptop's Broadcom Dual Band N driver? This could be driver related. Get the latest driver for your built-in wireless adapter. Also, check the adapter properties. Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) should be unchecked. With this enabled, the speed will be relatively slower as IPv4 data will have to be translated to IPv6.
Check out this post to resolve your username issue: How to fix @NO_SCREENNAME@ username.
Dont uncheck ipv6 if you do then you will have no ipv6 access. Ipv6 will be needed here in the very near future alot of websites i go to already are using it. It wont make any difference anyway leaving it checked that is not your problem.

  • Infinity2 - re-order issue blocking sainsbury/quid...

Infinity2 recently became available on our exchange, and placing an order early yesterday I was excited to get this for the family as a late Xmas present. Just after ordering I realised I'd not clicked correctly via Quidco to help with the cost of the package, so I called to cancel the order so I could place again a bit later. BT said that was ok and they would cancel, advising that it would take up to 24 hours to take effect, but which still gave ample time to re-order before both offers expired.
Trying to place the order again this afternoon I found that a new order couldn't be placed due to some mysterious issue, and the first order was still active. Querying this with an agent they said that the original order was never cancelled but that they had then done so now, meaning that a new order could be placed in a day or so but then only after both offers have expired.
So ok, my bad for not ordering sooner and it's clearly my fault for not clicking through quidco in the first place, but I'm disappointed and upset as if the order cancellation had been actioned as promised then everything would have been fine and I could have placed the order that I'd intended first of all.
I know there's no obligation for BT to honour offers placed outside of the offer period, but is there any point of contact for a customer that considers edge cases such as this? We've been phone customers for a long time, and if the deals are honoured, which seems fair and reasonable, we'd happily switch our broadband, but otherwise we'd stay with the WIMAX service from a different provider with our trust and faith in BT now gone.

  • Movie rentals that I downloaded onto iMac with Lion to do not show up on ATV 2 in menu for computers.  Purchased movies show up just fine.  What to do or look for?

I have an imac that is running lion and an Apple TV generation 2.  I have rented a movie from itunes and it shows up on my imac in Itunes under a rental icon, and will play fine on my computer.  However, it does not show up as choice to play on my apple tv.  I have homesharing enabled and everything else works fine including purchased movies that are on my imac, but no where does it show rental movies.
What do I look for?  What do I do to play the rental movie on my apple tv 2?

    Answer to my own question:
Wait until the downloaded rental has completed its download to the imac.  This took a long time for me, since it was part of several things that I was downloading at the same time.
Finally, it showed up on my apple tv.   Interestingly, I was able to watch much of the movie on my iMac before the movie finished its download and was available to the ATV 2.

  • Mid 2009 Crashing but fine in Safe Mode

    Hello friendly support community,
Having a little issue again with my mid 2009 Macbook Pro 2.53GHz intel core 2 duo system. Upgraded the system from 4gb to 8 gb about a month ago and everything has seemingly been running fine until today.
    - Shut down my system last night.
    - Went to power on this evening about an hr ago and I was stuck on the white Apple logo loading screen.-
    - Reset PRAM (reset 3 times in a row) and SMC ---- still stuck
    - Boot into safe mode--- worked then immediately restarted (via instructions from http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2570)
    - Boot normaly (no longer stuck on white loading screen!)----- then immediate CRASH!!!
    - Back in safe mode now (which is working fine) to submit this Help Discussion
Here is the panic report. Any ideas. I know that yesterday I updated the Evernote app from the Apple App Store and updated the definitions in the VirusBarrier App (also downloaded from the app store a while ago). Nothing more changed. Would really appreciate the help!

My Macbook pro no longer outputs to my vizio led tv. It was working fine now I cant get any picture. It just says no signal. It is not the hdmi or the adapter because it works fine with my other tv. Any ideas on how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated. Please be as specific as possible. Thanks. BTW--I am using the mini dvi to hdmi adapter in case that was unclear.

Since you say that the same connectors work on your other TV is suggests that the fault is not in the connectors but your Vizio TV.  I would check the settings on the Vizio TV.  Verify that is is set to receive HDMI input.  Perhaps you or some one else has inadvertently changed them.  Pressing the wrong buttons on a remote control device can do that.  (I am assuming no changes were made in SYSTEM PREFERENCES>DISPLAYS)
    Ciao.

hello I'm experiencing some problems with my iMessage and face time. I did with Apple provided me online. I did the steps. Nothing will work, it keeps saying activation turn on Wi-Fi when my Wi-Fi is turned on. As soon as I got this on Christmas. iMessage and FaceTime have not been working. Hi there, I am trying to connect to my server at work from home using a vpn connection. It connects fine and the time ticks along, but when i click go - connect to server, it comes up with connection failed. Please help!

... when i click go - connect to server, it comes up with connection failed.
If you're trying to connect to a Bonjour server on the remote network, that won't work over a layer 3 VPN. Use something like Hamachi or one of the SSH-tunnelling Bonjour proxy apps for that.

  • Firefox 4 initially worked fine, but after a back-up and restoration (now on a hybrid disk) it cannot find the bookmarks and crashes when I attempt to open the HTML file

I installed Firefox 4 on my 2010 13" MBP, standard configuration. It worked fine except that it didn't recognize any of the add-ons I was using and, to be frank, I don't like the interface as much as v.3. But ...
Then I backed up the entire HD, wiped the HD, removed it and replaced it with a Seagate hybrid HD. I then booted from the b/u and installed the entire HD contents on the new hybrid HD. Everything runs fine except for one thing -- Firefox 4 now will not recognize my bookmarks.
I tried reinstalling FF4 but this made no difference.
I did the b/u and restoration with Carbon Copy Cloner which I have used successfully for many b/u and restore operations on this and the white MB I previously owned.
Uh oh! I just tried to save a new bookmark (of this page) and it did not save -- or at least, it did not show in the "Show all Bookmarks" pane.
HOWEVER, when I start typing in a URL, it FF4 comes up with the completed URL in a flash. e.g. I typed "wiz" and FF4 showed me the completed URL (which should be in my Toolbar bookmarks and which I visit t least once daily).
    Kind regards

Do a clean (re)install and delete the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\).
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    *Firefox 10.0.x: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
Uninstall your current Firefox version, if possible.
*Do NOT remove personal data when you uninstall the current version or you lose your bookmarks and other data because all profile folders will be removed.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
*It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.

Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

  • I "upgraded" to FF4, now it doesnt work properly, wont open pages, will open blank tabs when i click on a link, tried to go back to the older one but that doesnt work now either, have tested it with Safari and it opens everything fine. Any ideas?

After upgrading to firefox 4 im now having a lot of problems using the browser.
if i try an open a link in a new tab it will just open up a blank tab, if i click on links or even type in the google search bar at the top it doesnt do anything, it just says "done" and the circle thing stops as if im on the page already, have tested it with Safari doing the same things and Safari works fine. I'd swap but all my bookmarks and passwords are in Firefox so id rather stay with that.
I tried going back to the older version of firefox (3.5 or something) but seems the bugs are here to stay now.......so.......any ideas? because its really annoying, shouldn't have "upgraded".
Is there a new patch coming out anytime soon or should i start getting used to Safari?
    Thanks for your help.

I would copy over the entire thing if you have room.  With iTunes 10.4 though, you can download any previous iTunes purchases you have made in the past with your current iTunes account.  While in iTunes, look at the left hand side of your screen and select "Purchases" and look at the bottom right corner of the screen and select "Download Previous Purchases".  If you have an iPhone, iPod and/or iPad...you can do the same thing from each device.  Nice new feature...just remember that those ripped CDs need a back-up!!!  Enjoy...
