Influence on Windows Live Mail 2011 signature set up

Forgive my ignorance / stupidity in asking this.
Is there any way by having Mozilla Firefox 12.0 on my desktop can it influence my Windows 7 / Windows Live Mail 2011 in such a way that, no matter which method I use I find it impossible to add a Signature to my E Mails other than in pure Text format??. One should be able to add a small icon/logo/image/picture (usually in jpg format) sourced from either Google Images or Public Source OR from ones own images (preferably small) and include with a personalized signature. Whichever of the common methods I have used to achieve this ALWAYS results in the image (no matter which I choose or from where) appearing as a Red outlined box with a Red X. Is there anything about my Firefox 1'''bold text'''2.0 that could have some bearing on this fault.??

Use these settings: (only Mail will work, Live does not support contacts and calendars from iCloud)

  • Synchronization with Windows Live Mail 2011

I'm not able to synchronize my Curve 3G with Windows Live Mail 2011. When I set up the Blackberry Desktop Manager program the only alternatives that are showned me to synchronise the contacts are Yahoo and Outlook Express, not Live Mail. What can I do? Thank you in advance for your help

Found this with a quick Google search:
To sync contacts with your computer, choose Sync Contacts on your Windows-based PC, or Sync Contacts with Address Book on your Mac.
You can sync your contacts with:
    * Microsoft Outlook 2003 or Microsoft Outlook 2007 (Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7)
    * Windows Address Book (Windows XP and Windows Vista)
    * Address Book (Mac OS X v10.4.11 or later)
    * Microsoft Entourage 2004 or Microsoft Entourage 2008
So it looks like the answer is no, you can't sync your contacts with Windows Live Mail 2011.

  • ICloud won't download whole msg to Windows Live Mail 2011 program if pdf attached

I just posted a message about this but think I posted it in the wrong section, so, am posting again here. Has anyone had this problem? The email arrives in Windows Live Mail 2011 program with the pdf attached but what the sender typed to me in the email is missing.
This email was generated originally by a mac user who sent it to another mac user with a pdf attached. The second mac user sent it to me  after typing a couple of words asking me to do something with the pdf. I never saw what he typed in - it was hidden. If I clicked Forwardd, then the draft of the forward showed some of his message to me but it was in weird format (lines broken in half, letters missing).  If I clicked Reply, I could not type into the reply.
I checked iCloud mail. The message was there in the iCloud incoming mail folder, intact, everything visible. So the problem occurs when the IMAP server goes to send the mail on to my computer's email program.  Junk filters are turned off both on the IMAP server and in my email program so that is not part of the problem.
One thing that occurred to me is that Windows Live Mail 2011 is receiving the email with pdf attached as though the text in the email were a photo or image.
Has anyone encountered this? Can anyone guess what is wrong? Does anyone know how to fix it?
I am using an HP Pavilion Laptop with Windows 7 home premium 64 bit.

Does the ext directory have the php_oci8.dll? In the original steps the PHP dir is renamed. In the given php.in the extension_dir looks like it has been updated correctly. Since PHP distributes php_oci8.dll by default I reckon there would be a very good chance that the problem was somewhere else. Since this is an old thread I don't think we'll get much value from speculation.

  • Contacts Sync with Windows Live Mail 2011

I'm using Windows 7 with the Windows Live Mail 2011 desktop application for email and contacts. Is it possible to sync the contacts in my Windows Live Mail 2011 application with my iPhone (iOS v4) using iTunes?
In Windows Vista, I used Windows Mail which stored contacts data in the Contacts folder within my profile (c:\users\username\contacts). These contacts did sync with my iPhone without any problems. Windows 7 doesn't have an email application built-in so, I'm using Windows Live Mail 2011. Windows Live Mail 2011 doesn't store contacts in the Contacts folder within my profile though. Is there anyway to sync my iPhone with my Windows Live Mail 2011 contacts?
    Thanks,
    Matt

  • Windows Live Mail 2011 & PSE9

I raised a query with Adobe and was told that Windows7/64bit/WLM 2011 works with PSE9. However
I am also reading in this forum that it does not support WLM2011 ... see below
Which is correct ... I need to know before I part with money to purchase PSE9.
Nov 5, 2010 1:07 PM in response to: lorainechubb Re: PSE9 and Windows Live Mail - Help
Adobe have had problems with the Windows 7 email client ever since they issued a patch for PSE8.
Furthermore it will not work with 64 bit editions of Outlook, to the disappointment of many but you would think they would have sorted out Live Mail before launching PSE9. The product help screens are entirely misleading.
Both PSE8 and PSE9 are said to be Windows 7 compatible, but in reality they aren’t. Even after downloading the patch Adobe customers are still reporting problems.
If you are using a purchased copy of PSE9, rather than the trial I would suggest you raise a ticket with the support team and claim your entitlement to help with a solution.

    Thanks for your replies.
I guess that waiting for PSE10 is the best route. Seems difficult to get direct answers about the compatability of Windows Live Mail 2011 ... Adobe say OK but no forum user reply (that I have found) seems to agree? My WLM is completely 'as offered' by Microsoft and up to date and I am sure that there are many 100's/1000's of Elements users who have the same setup as myself eg Windows7/64bit. To them I ask for a reply 'it works/it does not work'.
Maybe a 'trial' is the best route. But I am not keen on a 'suck it and see' solution. It works or it does not on 'standard installations'.
    Thanks again.

  • Windows LIve mail 2011

I have tried numerous times to add my wife's new email address to her computer using all the guides on Xfinity/Comcast, all to no avail. She uses Windows 7 Live Mail 2011. I have Windows 8.1 and use the live mail that came with my computer and I had no probl;ems at all??

Are you saying you cannot create a Secondary account? To do so, sign in with the Primary username, click on My Account. Next click on the Users and Settings tab, then Add a User to create the secondary.
    After that has been created...
Use that new username and password to set up a Windows Live Mail.
Windows Mail, Windows Live Mail, Outlook Express & Outlook 2000:
    choose Tools
    choose Accounts
    go to the Mail tab
click on your Comcast account to highlight it
    choose Properties
    go to the General tab
under Mail Account, enter whatever you'd like to call this account, like John Doe on Comcast
under User Information, enter Name (whatever you want to appear on your messages)
enter E-mail address (your full Comcast email address)
check "Include this account when receiving mail or synchronizing"
    go to the Servers tab
"My incoming mail server is a" POP3 "server"
    Incoming mail is mail.comcast.net
    Outgoing mail is smtp.comcast.net
enter your Account name or Email user name (your Comcast user ID, the part before "@comcast.net" in your email address)
    enter your Password
    check "Remember password"
make sure “Logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)” is NOT checked
    check “My server requires authentication”
    choose Settings
choose “Use same settings as my incoming mail server”
    click OK
    go to the Advanced tab
check both boxes for “This server requires a secure connection (SSL)”
change port number to 995 for incoming, 587 or 465 for outgoing
bump up the Server Timeouts slider to the high end
Note: With Windows Live Mail - Leave the box ticked which says, "clear text authentication"
Turn off whatever email scanning your anti-virus package is doing. Comcast already scans incoming email for viruses, and your outgoing email isn’t going to be infected unless your machine is already infected, so there’s no point checking it all the time.

  • Windows Live Mail - How to Set it Up

I've been trying to set up Windows Live Mail to display emails received by my BT Mail account.
None of the detailed instructions on the Internet correspond to the Wndows Live Mail screens that appear during the setting up process.
In addition to the above problem, Windows Live Mail asks for ingoing and outgoing details. I've been using imap.btinternet.com for ingoing, port 993 and smtp.btinternet.com for outgoing, port 465, all gleaned from BT on the internet (although I've lost track of where that all came from during my hours of searching).
At the end of the hit-and-miss set up attempt, the user screen in Windows Live Mail (which looks a lot like the old Outlook Express screen) displays my email address in the left column, along with some folder names that were there before I started setting up, but it won't display the folder names corresponding to my BT email address and it won't display any emails. Basically, my actions have only worked to the extent that my email address is displayed, but that's all.
Can anyone please give a detailed, step-by-step description of exactly what needs to be done from absolute scratch, such that a three year old with no computer knowledge could complete it successfully.
Thank you if you can help.

Many thanks for both replies and the links in the second reply.
I've digested the first recommended link and carefully followed the second recommended link, following the further sub-link therein for 'Windows Live Mail'.
As per my original post, there are differences between the recommended link screens and the screens that appear in the version of Windows Live Mail I've downloaded from Microsoft and installed.
    Thus:
    (1) - 'login user name' in the recommended link appears as 'login ID if different from email address' in the Windows Live Mail software. The recommended link completes that entry as 'example.user', which is meaningless. Is that my BT email address, without the '.com' extension? Then again, applying straightforward logic to the instruction, since my BT login ID is my email address, then the entry should be blank, should it not? Therefore, I've left the entry blank. If that is incorrect, what should I enter, please?
    (2) - Continuing completion of the entries from top to bottom, I eventually come to the 'outgoing server information' entry, most particularly the port number. I've entered '465' as the outgoing server information port number. Continuing further, when I subsequently tick the box against 'This server requires a secure connection (SSL)', the port number entered earlier is altered (without any other action by me) to 25. I can go back and change it back to 465, which is what I've done. Is that correct, or should I allowthe software to impose 25?
    (3) - I then discover that the 'NEXT' button is greyed out. I therefore can't select 'Next', so, having completed the entries in the window, I'm currently stuck there.
Any help would be gratefully received, with thanks.

  • How do I sync with windows live mail 2011?

how Do I sync to windows live mail/contacts/calendar (not hotmail) on iphone4?

Windoze live mail is basically hotmail.
Microsoft followed Google's lead in this regard and now supports accessing a Hotmail or Windows Live Mail account as an Exchange account with the iPhone's Mail app. This provides for push access for received messages, and over the air syncing for contacts and calendar events with your Windows Live Mail online contacts and calendars.  Instructions for doing this should be available via the Live Mail website.

  • I have just updated to Firefox v 6.0.2 and can no-longer open web links from Windows Live Mail 2011 (Bld 15.4.3538).

Shutting down programmes and rebooting computer did not help. Launching web links from Live Mail has never been a problem before. Error message reads " There was a problem sending the command to the program"

Firefox 3.6.4 and 3.6.6 use a process called, "plugin-container.exe" which was using up most of my CPU when I opened up multiple tabs that contained Adobe Flash files, and caused Firefox to lock up.
My solution was to use Firefox 3.5.10 which you can get from the Mozilla website at [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html]
I am using Adobe Flash 10.1.53.64 without any problem in this version of Firefox. Check the release notes, I believe it contains all the latest security fixes in "Firefox 3.6.4".
Hopefully, they will fix Firefox 3.6 in the next version (e.g. Firefox 3.6.7), until then you should probably use "Firefox 3.5.10".

  • Clicking on an e-mail address will NOT open Windows Live Mail which is already the default mail program which is already set as the default mail program

Clicking on an e-mail address will NOT open Windows Live Mail. Windows Live mail is already set as my default e-mail program.

Sorry you're having this problem. I think it was previously reported only by Windows XP users.
When you reinstall, were you making Firefox your default browser? Some users have reported that ''not'' making Firefox the default browser was an effective workaround.
However, you may have success with this approach, suggested by a user in another thread, which appears to more thoroughly update the Windows registry:
    # Open Adobe Reader / Acrobat
    # Edit->Preferences
    # In the Categories column click 'General'
    # Near the bottom of the page click the button marked 'Select Default PDF Handler'
    # In the dialog, select 'Adobe Reader XI' (or Adobe Acrobat, as the case may be) and click 'Apply'
    # A Windows Configuration screen will appear. Allow it to do its stuff (takes a few minutes), then restart your computer when prompted.
Does that resolve the issue for you?

  • I would like firefox to open links in windows live mail.

I want Firefox to open links I click on in windows live mail 2011 instead of internet explorer

This happened to me when I installed 4.0 BETA. I un-installed BETA as I didn't like it. I then used 3.6 but the links opened with Internet Explorer. I re-installed 3.6 and it's now working fine so I would suggest re-installing whatever version you have.
