Info broadcaster - falls over when more than 2 queries are in a workbook

Hi everyone,
We use IB reports extensively with over 2,000 IBs being sent out weekly.
I have a query I want so send out via IB and I can create an IB setting on the query without issue. However when I insert more than one version of the query in a workbook, and try to create an IB setting on the workbook, IB falls over once I select Create new Setting.
Its a fairly chunky query, we have no issues running the query in the Analyser and we have a number of workbooks with 20+ sheets and the query on each sheet, the workbook is fine.
Its just when we create an IB setting we have issues.
Anyone encountered this in your own businesses?

Hi Gill,
We can't say that the Broadcasting is successful,if you are abe to precalculate through backend.This just for a testing of preclaculation server and not for broadcasting.
If you are able to broadcast through web, then only we can say it is succeeded.

I am using mutiple select queries to fetch data from Project Server 2010 DB(its sharepoint DB) and these queries fetch data in Excel BI report by establishing connection with DB using instance name and all. I have enhance all these select queries and data
is being fetched in secs. but when more than one copy of same Excel BI report is refreshed using 'Refresh All' option, then these select queries cause blockage on DB.
Please let me know mitigation for this blockage issue.
Should I use begin transaction and commit transaction statements/ shared lock statements.

I have a 16GB san disc that when more than half full and trying to download to my Mac gives a "communication error" message. How can I seamlessly upgrade the computers software to handle SDHC cards of this size?

I have a 16GB San Disc that when more than half full and trying to transfer the images to the iPhoto library I get the message "communication error". How can I update my computers software to be SDHC compatable? I can buy a card reader but thought an update to the software would fix this problem.

I am not familiar with Flickr, but found their support page at <Flickr Support>. You may get better help there than here. I get the impression that the App is somewhat buggy.

I believe the null/empty string issue is unrelated to the 8 column issue, at least for ODP.NET. For example, let's take the original query in the OBE:

Let's make all the columns selected not nullable. You can do this with the Oracle Dev Tools. Specifically, PHONE_NUMBER and FIRST_NAME are the only nullable fields. I make them non-nullable and re-run the query and the same error occurs. Thus, these values should never be made null. Moreover, in all 107 rows, none of these row values consist of empty strings anyway.
Looking into the problem further, WCF DS is calling methods in the System.Data.Services.Internal namespace.

Specifically, we see your issue when the ProjectedWrapperMany method is called. You will notice that there is ProjectedWrapper0, ProjectedWrapper1...ProjectedWrapper8 methods also present in the same namespace. As soon as the number of columns exceeds 8, ProjectedWrapperMany is called and we see the error. We're going to ask MS to help analyze the issue since this is an .NET-internal method being called.

I've heard about transcoding services, and they are very expensive.
so i'm looking if there is a way to do everything by fcp.
the project will be delivered as SD DVD for archive pourposes and as a single file for the projection or eventually transconding.

flickr share sheet does not appear when more than 99 photos are selected. So does Facebook, Airdrop and others except only "add to iPhoto". They all show up when >100 photos are selected but for more they don't

I think that is influenced by the order in which the apps are installed on the iPad (I believe that it's the most recent 10 ?) - but as I haven't got more than 10 apps that support any document/file type I can't check.

Macbook freezing when more than one program runs

My Macbook is about a year and a half old. A few weeks ago, it crashed catastrophically, and the geniuses at my local store replaced the logic board.
Since getting it back, it's been crashing almost every time I try to run more than one program, such as itunes and safari. Ichat video or photobooth on their own cause it to freeze. The freezing process is gradual; first the program I'm looking at freezes, but I can navigate to other programs, but within a few minutes those freeze as well. During the freeze, the cursor moves (in beachball shape) but the screen is unresponsive and apple-option-escape has no effect; the only solution is to manually turn it off. It's also taking longer and longer to boot up. This happens when it's plugged in as well as on battery power. It's gotten to the point that I'm scared to do work on it, because I can't trust it to work long enough to save my data. What happened? Is this the result of my "fixed" logic board or something else? I am getting SO FRUSTRATED by how unreliable my macbook has become!!

Have you replaced/changed Ram lately? ...if so, try reverting back to the old.
You could also ensure you've run your standard Maint. scripts (via Onyx, Cocktail etc...) and perhaps boot to the Install DVD to verify/repair the hard drive and its permissions. Booting to the Install DVD and running the Apple Hardware Test (hold 'D' on startup) could also reveal things.
Failing all that, try resetting the SMC and Pram...

These are all a bunch of general procedures that the user can try to eliminate the issues - if nothing works, you'll need to make another trip to the genius bar.

CPU_COUNT when more than 1 instance per server

Hi,
I wonder if there is any drawback when we got few instances on the same server from cpu_count point of view.
This parameter is derived by all instances like they are alone so all control structures are allocated independetly but there is more
resource needed when many instances in place.
Could this be potencial bottleneck ?

The advice on that page is not very good - the most important point is the quote from IBM, which highlights the fact that there is a difference between single-user and multi-user systems:

In fact, it's a bit silly to give a single figure for the point where you should be concerned about CPU utilisation. The best reference for discussion is Cary Millsap's book "Optimizing Oracle Performance" which discusses the impact of concurrency on queueing. Instability in performance varies with the number of CPU combined with the percentage utilisation, and the break point sets in around the following levels:

Your observation, thought that the OP should not mess with the cpu_count parameter is sound. Perhaps the only parameters that he should worry about are the parallal_max_servers and processes parameters to ensure that no one instance is allowed to run up more processes than the machine can handle.
(I find the best sources of information that bridge the gap between Oracle and the hardware are Kevin Closson's blog, James Morle's website - and a site from someone at Sun whose name I can't remember at the moment.)

Outlook 2013 Rules issue when more than 50 rules exist ("The rules on this computer do not match the rules on Microsoft Exchange").

I think I may have found a bug.
My Outlook 2013 profile has more than 75 rules. When I started testing Outlook 2013, I got the message "The rules on this computer do not match the rules on Microsoft Exchange. Only one set of rules can be kept. You will usually want to keep the rules
on the server. Which rules do you want to keep?"
I did the following troubleshooting:
1. I created a new Outlook profile. This didn't fix the issue.
2. I exported my rules, cleared them using "outlook /cleanrules", then reimported the rules. This didn't fix the issue.
3. I cleared the rules again (outlook /cleanrules), then hand-entered the rules. This also didn't fix the issue.
4. I reduced the number of rules to less than 50. This FIXED the problem.
5. When I entered rule #51, the problem came back. When I removed ruled #51, the problem was again fixed.
Does anyone know of a fix or workaround to this issue?

HP Laserjet 400 M401n won't stop printing when more than 1 copy is specified

I use this HP Laserjet printer on a network. It's brand new. I print from both Macbook Pro and / or Mac Pro running OS 10.9.5. Downloaded and installed latest HP printer driver.
Problem: I can print 1 page just fine. But when I specify more than that, the printer will not stop printing copies for the number I specified. I have to press the cancel button to stop it. I have tried resetting the printer. No luck.

I don't use spell catcher.
I found a workaround posted elsewhere in the Apple discussion forum. When going through the printing dialog boxes, select Preview and print whatever number of pages I need from that window. It works fine so I'll use that method until a future Mac OS X update fixes the problem.
The security update for OS X on 3-1-06 didn't fix the problem even after I repaired permissions.

Use of layout when more than one parameter - Error Missing Parameter Values

Hi,
Is it possible to use a crystal report which has more than one parameter as the layout for the bill of materials report.
I have 3 parameters
       1. DocKey@       The Bill of Materials to be printed
       2. Number of levels to be printed
       3. type of levels to print.
When I try to print it gives me the error Missing Parameter Values.
I have tried changing the DocKey@ to CodeKey@ but the same error.
Does anyone now where to find a list of these tokens?

I looked at the crystal report conversion to try to find what parameters it used and found none.
I have managed to create and use a crystal report to replace the production order using DocKey@ as the parameter. This works within SAP. However I have converted the system production order to crystal reports and from the converted report I cannot see any parameters at all.
How and where can you find out what paramters you need to use to replace any PLD report? Several reports have multiple selection criteria before the report prints. How can you find out what their tokens are called? I am starting to pull my hair out. I am getting great help from this forum, but do you know any documentation which actually explains this area.

[JS CS3] Need an array of paragraphs when more than one story

If I have a document with only one story the following line returns an array of all the paragraphs. I can then iterate through the array to my hearts conent.
var paraRef = app.activeDocument.stories.everyItem().paragraphs;
However, if there is more than one story, then, according to the Data Browser, some of the object Paragraphs contain more than one paragraph and some of the object Paragraphs are invalid. The length of paraRef is correct, i.e. it equals the total number of paragraphs in the document, but each member of this array either "bunched up" or contains nothing.
How can I write this so that when I have more than one story I can get an array of all the paragraphs?

Report File Substeps only listed when more than 2 entries are present

a short question regarding report file generation. Our report file has the problem that the substep report texts are only printed when the substep has more than 2 entries inside. Once the third entry (even it is some dummy entry, but it must write something to the report file) is present the sub report texts can be found inside the report.
