Info button missing when connecting iPhone

I'm trying to sync my contacts from my iPhone5 to my macbook. I'm running iTunes 11.1.2. When I plug in my iPhone the device connects properly in iTunes and I can sync music, videos, apps etc. After researching how to sync contacts everything that I found said it would be under the "Info" button/tab when the device is selected. Unfortunately, this button is missing when I plug in my device.
Shouldn't the Info button be between Summary and Apps? I even tried viewing the selecting the device from the Sidebar but there's still no Info button available. I feel like I'm going crazy here but I can't find anything online similar to this issue. Is there a setting on my phone that needs to be changed? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

So,
Note:   These instructions apply only if you use OS X v.10.8.5 or earlier. If you use OS X Mavericks v.10.9 or later, your contacts, calendars, and other info are updated on your computers and iOS devices via iCloud. For more information, see iCloud Help at icloud.com.
That's not good for me. At all.
By the way it looks like, in legal terms, solicitaion. Solicitaion of iCloud services.

I am running iTunes v12.1.1.14 on Windows 7 and I was experiencing the same problem. I found out that the issue started when uninstalling "iCloud". I do not want to use iCloud, but once I reinstalled it I could perfectly synchronize again. I hope this works out for some of you.

  • When connecting iphone to computer iphoto always loads

When connecting iphone to my computer iphotos always loads on top. how do I stop iphotos from loading

When there are photos in your iPhone's Camera Roll, your iPhone is also detected as a digital camera when connected to your computer. Although photos in your iPhone's Camera Roll are included with your iPhone's backup, which is updated by iTunes as the first step during the iTunes sync process, photos in your iPhone's Camera Roll should be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera. Not a good idea to depend on your iPhone's backup alone for these photos, and deleting the photos from the Camera Roll after the import process is complete will improve your iPhone's backup time. If you want any of the imported photos available on your iPhone for viewing, you can add the photos to an existing iPhoto album already selected to be transferred to your iPhone followed by a sync, or create a new iPhone album for the recently imported photos, select the new iPhoto album under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences followed by a sync.

  • ITunes freezes and doesn't respond when connecting iPhone 4

Well yesterday I had the two of the most common problems that a lot of people seem to be having with iTunes after the latest update- opening iTunes and not getting my iPhone 4 to be recognized. I solved the iTunes problem last night and iPhone is now being recognized on my computer but when I connect it to my computer iTunes automatically freezes and stops responding. When I disconnect it and restart iTunes it responds again and runs smoothly like nothing happened.
When it freezes beside "iTunes Store" it says "iPhone" and it seems like it freezes while it's trying to sync my phone. I've tried restarting my computer, leaving it connected before starting iTunes, waiting until iTunes comes up to connect it, but whatever I do iTunes just won't work with my iPhone connected. Any ideas on how to fix this?

  • Itunes 10.4 not launching when connecting iphone

Snow Leopard 10.6.8. Just updated iTunes to 10.4. iTunes will not launch when connecting the iPhone to my MacBook Pro. Once connected, manually opening iTunes will allow the sync to happen, but only then. iTunes helper app is there in Login items.
Minor inconvenience, but could be a problem if I miss too many syncs due to this.
    Any thoughts?

I had the exact same problem upgrading iTunes to 10.4 on Snow Leopard. It looks like there's a problem with iTunesHelper under Login Items. I found the solution here: https://discussions.apple.com/message/15666966 Simply follow the instructions to re-add iTunesHelper to Login Items, restart, and you should be good to go!

  • Getting the blue screen of death when connecting iphone

    Hello,
Suddenly, for no apparent reason, my laptop to which I have synced my Iphone for over a year is crashing when connecting my phone to sync. I have a 3gs running OS 4.3 and Itunes is up to date. When I first got the phone, I had to disable the built in webcam on the laptop in order to prevent this same problem but it has been working fine since.
I have updated all the drivers but to no avail. Anyone else having this problem?
    Thanks for any help!

Upgrade that Acer Aspire to a Mac. Guaranteed you'll never see a BSOD

  • Why is my genius button missing on my iPhone?

    Hi,
The genius button has gone missing on my iPhone 4S. Any ideas how to get it back?
Note that I have tapped the screen, and the other additional controls are visible.

    Yes.
In the mean time I have found the cause: No match and genius at the same time on iOS devices, it's either-or. Workaround is to turn off Match briefly, then make the playlist, then switch Match back on.

  • BS of Death when connection iphone 3g on Vista32 with Itunes 8

I installed ITunes 8 - I was able to connect my 4g ipod ok but when I pluged in the Iphone 3g as it was installing the drivers I got a BSOD I removed IT8 and reinstalled and same problem. Contrary to popular beleif a BSOD is very rare. This is my first on this machine in 10 months of ownership - it was rare on XP as well!

This is really terrible. I too am getting the BSOD when connecting my iPhone (I have a 1st gen model). Apparently, it's affecting everyone upgrading to iTunes 8.0.0.35 on Windows Vista. Connecting the phone with or without iTunes running causes a BSOD. A message pops up and says it's the "usbaapl.sys" file or sometime. Now I'm really stuck as I can't even sync/restore/upgrade my iPhone.
I'd try to revert to iTunes 7.7.0.43 but I'm just too tired right now (it's after 10:30pm and I've been working on this problem since 5pm).
Holly cow. First no apps/music, with some ASOD (Apple-Logo Screen of Death) thrown in. Now this. Ugh! I'm going to sleep...

  • Want to disable when connecting Iphone it  goes down to device.

When i connect my Iphone to my dock, if I'm listening to radio or some music and i have visualization on it jumps out of visualization and down to devices. And its no matter where i am.
Where can i disable that. Ive got to know that when having a mac if u uncheck the "automatically sync when this Iphone is connected" it doesn't do it. But how to get it to do it in Vista.
Also if you go into preferences and devices and uncheck "disable automatic syncing for iphones and ipods.
But none of this works.. How can i disable that so if i connec the phone i am the one choosing if i wanna go down to the device manually..

No, I have no idea if it will be changed and Apple has not announced anything.
You can ssend suggestions to Apple here -> http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html

  • Audiobooks lose their last location when connecting iPhone to iTunes

This is a major inconvenience when in the middle of many several hour audiobooks (m4b).
Tech support is no help and all they tell me is that they are looking into it. This has been happening for YEARS.
I guess I'm one of the few that listen to audiobooks because between this and podcasts tech support knows NOTHING about these functions. This is terrible as I have to load up as many audiobooks as I possibly can...and...listen to them all before attempting to add music, video, audiobooks or sync contact/calendar info with the computer.

Yes, it does work up until I sync the iPhone with iTunes. Then ALL the audiobooks are reset to the beginning. (Podcasts are nuked during this process as well by the way)
You can imagine just how frustrating it is when you are well into several books.
I dread connecting the phone to the computer because of this and what it does to my podcasts also.
Apple has had their best and brightest working day and night tirelessly on this for over a year. The poor schlubs that field the calls are repeatedly told by the "engineers" that they are working on it. When in reality, no one has a clue what is happening and they have even gone so far as to tell me that this undesired behavior is actually a feature.
I don't feel bad. Apparently I'm not the only one that has heard this explanation. I've heard others have also been told the same thing by Apple when something doesn't work as expected that it is a "feature." However, they didn't get a long story as I did as to why I should enjoy this particular feature.
    Nice huh?
Don't test your iPhone on my account. I wouldn't want you to experience the same frustration as I have. But...if you do, please let me know if it happens to you also.
    Thanks Katrina
