Info disappeared when I rebooted my computer!

I have just rebooted my computer and reinstalled all the programs I need, including iTunes. Of course I saved all of my music and my iTunes library file before I rebooted. Almost all the info I added about the music in my library is still there, but with an emphasis on "almost". I have the Swedish version of iTunes installed, so I don't know if I get the names of things correct so I can explain my problem, but I will try.
When I right click a song in my library and choose "Show info" and then choose the "Alternative" tab there are some boxes you can check. There is one box that you can check if you don't want a song to be played when you play your library in mixed mode, so I have gone through all my songs and checked the songs that I want to be skipped when I play my library in mixed order. Anyone know what I'm talking about? Anyway, when I rebooted my computer this info disappeared. So I guess this info has to be stored somewhere else than in the iTunes library file. So does anyone know where it is stored so this doesn't happen to me again?
I would really, really appreciate the help with this! Thanks!

Maybe it is "Skip when shuffling" on the Options tab?
I never use that feature, but I believe that is the English translation. It's an iTunes feature, so if it's not stored in the ITL file, I don't knw where it would be.
I changed it on one song and looked at the XML entry for that song. Nothing changed...it must be in that ITL file that nobody but Apple knows what goes in it!

• My desktop photo disappears when I reboot iMac, replaced with Mac default image. please help?

My desktop photo disappears when I reboot iMac...replaced with default apple image. does anyone know a fix?

First, try to delete the Desktop settings file. First, open Finder, select Go menu > Go to Folder, and type ~/Library/Preferences. Then, delete "com.apple.desktop.plist" and "com.apple.systempreferences.plist", and restart your computer. Finally, change the wallpaper and see if it stays after restarting your computer
If that does not work try
open the Applications Support folder and then look for the Dock folder and open that. There are two files, one of which is "desktoppicture.db". Move this file to the trash and securely delete it. Restart the computer. A new "desltoppicture.db" will be created on startup.
Finally, reset your desktop picture again using System Preferences.

• Saved passwords keep disappearing when I reboot my MBP

There must be something wrong in my settings........ don't know what it is though...... The saved passwords disappear when I reboot my MacbookPro. I use Firefox 8.0.1

Do you mean names and passwords in the Password Manager or do you mean that you are no longer logged on to (remembered by) websites after closing and restarting Firefox?
There is a difference between remembering the name and password in the Password Manager and a "remember me" check box on a web page.
The latter usually involves the creation of a special "remember me" cookie that is stored on your computer and that is send to the server.
If that "remember me" cookie is removed or gets corrupted or is not send to the server then the server won't remember you and you need to sign in once again.

Need some help: my itunes won't sync with my iphone anymore. Both softwares are up to date and I've reinstalled itunes. After I reinstall, it syncs. But then when I reboot my computer, it no longer syncs anymore and I have to keep reinstalling itunes. Thoughts???

thought that it was possible to have the same iTunes library on any machine that was authorised, a kind of cloud-iTunes I guess.
That would convenient, but sadly it is not the case. Sorry!
Either way your welcome and best of luck!

• Why does more info disappear when I choose get info

When I download a file and choose "Get info," I can see the dimensions (if it is a graphic file), color space, and the URL source under "More info." When I close Get info and reopen it again, that information disappears and never comes back. Why isn't this information saved and how do I get it back?

Hi ryandoss-
There appears to be some slow performance after signing in. This presents a blank screen. (If you wait long enough, you should see the content load).
We are working to resolve this issue. Sorry about the trouble. And, thanks for your patience.

• I removed Yahoo Search and in Tools Option I changed it to Blank Page at Startup but When I reboot my computer I get YAHOO as my StartUp page in Firefox even though Options still says Blank Page.

I added Yahoo Search when I installed a program, but later removed it from Firefox Add-ons, but it still comes up as my Firefox start Page even though Tools Options states that I want a Blank Start Page.
When I go to Tools Options and change nothing (since it still reads Blank Page) and press OK, the blank page works every time I load Firefox until I reboot my computer and then Firefox is back.

sounds like malware fallout

• Time Machine drive disappears when i reboot

When i reboot my iMac, my USB-connected external Time Machine hard drive does not remount, and it is not visible in the Disk Utility program. The only way i can get it to remount is to power-cycle the external drive. Unplugging and re-plugging the USB connection does not work. This could be a hardware issue (particularly with the USB cable), but i just wanted to check to see if anyone else is experiencing this problem.
Thoughts? Suggestions?

Hello r_dizzle,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with your external hard drive. I found an article with steps you can take when an external device is not behaving as expected
I recommend following the steps in the section titled "Top troubleshooting tips" in this article:

• How can I listen to someone else's library? It briefly did, then disappeared when he restarted his computer. (Info within)

I spent a week with someone far away, and plugged in my iPod to his computer briefly to charge it for my flight home. I don't use my iPod very much, but when I plugged it in recently, I later noticed that "(Name)'s Library" showed up under "Home Sharing" which was under "Shared". I haven't touched sharing or anything. I could see and listen to all of his 5,000 songs. Later, he restarted his computer, and it disappeared, along with Home Sharing tab in the side bar. I actually enjoyed some of his music. We both turned on Home Sharing, I even signed into his Apple ID to see if that would do anything. Nothing.
First, I'm curious why it showed up in the first place. Second, I'd like to know how to get it back. I see on the internet sharing is easy for local networks, but we're in different countries. And it was on separate Apple ID accounts.
Help?

• Something updated on my firefox when I rebooted the computer and now I cant get log into something like my amazon account without an error message about an ocsp

I turned off my computer and turned it back on. Firefox did something with automatic updates. Since that time I have not been able to access things I could previously, such as my account on Amazon.com When I go to the amazon website and try to log in, I get an error message that says something about an OCSP certificate not being able to be authenticated. This happens on other sites as well. I did call amazon to report the problem. This was days ago and the problem persists. I can access my amazon account information on my home computer using firefox. This is just happening on my office computer since it did some auto updating. Both my home computer and the office computer on which I am having trouble using the browser are running on Wndows XP. Something clearly happened to the browswer on the office computer because I can access things on the home computer with the firefox browser that I can't on this computer.

First attempt to try using Firefox in safe mode.
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode
Second attempt to correct the issues via refreshing Firefox.
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/refresh-firefox-reset-add-ons-and-settings
Third I recommend you use something like malwarebytes to scan your PC.

• My Yahoo toobar changes my apps when I reboot my computer. Why.?

When I start up and open Firefox I notice that my Yahoo toolbar has changed to apps that I do not want. The toolbar has been the same for several months and all of a sudden it changes daily on me.

Is the computer the same one that you've been using all along to sync the iphone to? Are you using mobileme or icloud?

• Installed plugins disappear when I restart my computer

I am running Firefox 3.6.13. I had a file corruption problem and had to reformat to the factory image and then reinstall all of my software. I used mozbackup to backup firefox settings. I restored and it put back my bookmarks, and passwords fine, but my extensions ansd plugins were not reinstalled. Now I have reinstalled extensions several times. However, whenever I restart my computer they all become uninstalled again. I can open and close firefox without this hapening, however, restarting the computer is a different story.

Delete the files extensions.* (extensions.rdf, extensions.cache, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox [[Profiles|profile folder]] to reset the extensions registry. New files will be created when required.
See "Corrupt extension files": http://kb.mozillazine.org/Unable_to_install_themes_or_extensions
If you see disabled, not compatible, extensions in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the "Find Updates" button (in Firefox 4: right-click the extension -> "Find Updates") to do a compatibility check.

• I have updated to the newest version of FireFox. When I reboot my computer, the program update. What am I doing wrong?

I have rebooted my machine 3 times & FireFox icon doesn't show up - it's the one with the CD. I have been using FireFox for years & this is the first time this has happened. I have many things bookmarked there - will they all be gone now?

Hi,
Firefox stores your personal data separate from its installation folder. You can take a backup of the whole profile folder or the important data files. The '''places.sqlite''' stores the bookmarks + history data, the '''signons.sqlite''' + '''key3.db''' are needed for the saved website passwords etc. Please see [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Backing%20up%20your%20information?s=backup&r=1&e=sph&as=s Backup].

[http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder Firefox Profile Folder]
[http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Files]
You can try to start Firefox from its [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Installation_directory installation directory] by clicking the '''firefox''' file. If Firefox isn't starting please see [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Firefox-not-start#w_firefox-will-not-start-after-updating this.]
