Info from applet back into web page?

I know that information can be passed to an applet via <param> tags, but can information be passed back to the page from an applet, perhaps to a javascript or php function?

Well, you can call JS-Methods using liveconnect and the JSObject Interface
Note that the browser has to support this which is often not the case. However IE and mozilla should be fine most time.
have a look at docs for more info

  • How to stop firefox from blocking secure info from reaching non-secure web page? It's causing purchased products to not be delivered

    This is a new problem that is showing up not only in my software but many others. My software uses PayPal to process online purchases. PayPal is an secure site. When the customer returns to our site they land on a thank you page. The thank you page must receive the ipn message from PayPal to know what product download page to load for the customer so they receive the correct products, which they just purchased.
    FireFox is blocking this information from the secure site to our unsecure site and causing the customers not to receive download information.
    FireFox used to work well with our product delivery system but the latest update is causing all kinds of problems. To you have a fix for this inconvenience you browser is causing customers and companies who use a third party processing system?

  • Can applet pass value back to web page?

    if i run an applet in a web page, eg: aspx
    is it possible for me to pass value back to the page?

    if say i'm playing a maze, which written in applet.
    and the applet is run under a web page.Lika applets usually are.
    at the time i solve the maze, it will show a
    messagebox,
    at the beginning, i plan to write a solving data
    fileto the disk, but later i found out applet doesn't
    allow writing of file.It does. You just need to sign it.
    so i would like to pass the data value back to the
    web page, when i click the ok button on the message
    box.You didnt' answer my question. Web pages are HTML and don't accept data, so your question as it is makes no sense.
    pass back an integer value which store the solvign

  • Trying to add a simple applet to a web page

    Well, I was trying to add a simple applet to a web page(php nuke Home section), it didn't fin my applet, so I changed it and added it to a simple html file to make it as simple as I could get it.
    This is the code in the html file:
    <applet code="usblock.class" width="400" height="400">The browser doesn't support applets...</applet>The directory: www/usblock.html & www/usblock.java & www/usblock.class - As you can see the files are all in the same directory/folder.
    usblock.java code:
    import javax.swing.*;
    import java.awt.*;
    public class usblock extends JApplet
         public void init()
              JPanel p = new JPanel(new BorderLayout());
              p.add(new JLabel("Heisann"));
              add(p, BorderLayout.CENTER);
    }now as I open the html local on my computer, it workes. As soon as I open the usblock.html from my website, it doesn't.
    It gives me this error here:

  • Embed photoshop galleries into web pages

    I generate photo galleries in Adobe Photoshop and I am

    Yes. Let's see your page as it stands now. Can you upload it
    and post a
    link?
    The Object Not Found message means that there is a javascript
    object that
    has been left out of the page. A look at the code will tell
    which one that
    is.

    My iCal has frozen after I tried to paste info from an email into a reminder.  I get a "server reports an error" message with what I tried to paste in the box.  Calendar is frozen and will only close by forcing it.  Any help?

    Did another window open with the pasted information?  If so, try hitting "enter/return" key and "delete" key at the same time.  That should get rid of the current action on the ical, the extra window should go bye-bye, and all should be fine with the world.

    I can't believe there's no answer to this. Apple wants to charge customers for support but this has got to be happening thousands of times a day what with Windows OS reinstalls being what they are-numerous! Please let me know if/when you get a reply, thx!

  • PROBLEM SOLVED "export clips from Color back into FCP & add transition"

    If I have two clips that you cannot place a transition in between here is the only thing that worked for me.
    I discovered this problem after I exported my movie clips from FCP 6 to Color and imported the color corrected files from Color back into FCP 6. I could no longer add transitions to any of my clips unless I made the following changes.
    1. 1st check to see if the video clip has an audio track underneath it. If they are not linked Select the audio and the video track to be linked, hit Command "L" and you will see an underline under the audio and video name to show that they are now linked. Do the same for the adjoining video and audio track.
    2. Next select all of the clips after the video clip you just selected by typing "tttt" this changes to the "Select All Tracks Forward Tool". Click on the track after the video track you just linked and it will select all of the tracks thereafter. Hit the "A" button to change back to the selection tool and move all of the selected tracks away from the previous video/audio track.
    3. Next type "RR" this will change to the "Ripple" tool. Now click on end of the video track on the previous video clip and type -15 (for negative 15 frames). Then click on the beginning of other video clip to the right that you linked and type +15 (for plus 15 frames).
    4. Type "tttt" to change back to the "Select All Tracks Forward Tool" the hit the "A" button to change back to the selection tool and drag all tracks back together again.
    5. You may then drag and drop your transition in between both video clips.
    I hope this helps someone...this is the only thing that worked for me!!!
    Number1talent

    I am working with mostly DVCPro ftg, with a few clips in MiniDV.  I did have roughly 10 clips with speed changes, but they exported fine two weeks ago, when I did this the first time.  (Actually, it didn't keep the speed changes, but it did export with media to FCP).
    The clips do have reel numbers and seem to be of the right length per clip but there's just no picture and no assoicated media with which to relink the clip.
    I'm on Color 1.5.3
    Any possible ideas?  Thank you for your help...

  • To obtain values from fields in a web page.

    Hi everyone,
    I am in the process of developing a web based application. I am able to
    successfully convert my windows to web page documents.
    I have sincerely followed the prescribed steps to be adopted in building
    methods for validations and processes, so as to utilise them for my web
    pages too.
    But the problem that I am facing is to obtain values back from the web
    page fields (user entered values) for performing validations.
    Unfortunately the explanations provided in the Forte Web SDK Manual
    for obtaining the values from the web page fields and load it on to the
    source window through LoadParameters() method (a method in the window
    converter class of HTMLWindow project) seems to be inadequate.
    If some one can site the steps that Iam probably missing or some
    examples, it will be of great help.
    Thanks in advance.
    Pamella.

    Hi Dan,
    Thanks for your assistance.
    But as regards to my application, I have an existing forte application
    which Iam trying to web enable.
    To summarize my problem let me just consider the openning window (logon
    screen) which I have converted to web page using WindowConverter Class
    in the HTMLWindow project (obviously, it is my supplier project). The
    functionality of this window class has to just accept the user name and
    validate it. If the user name is valid then proceed further else
    display an error message. I have a separate validation method for the
    user name, which I can utilise to validate the user name typed by the
    user on the web page, if Iam browsing or on the window, if Iam directly
    running the application.
    The widgets on the window are <UserId> and <ProceedButton> with
    window attribute names as UserId and ProceedButton respectively.
    Now my handle request method goes like this :
    -- This method is the entry point from the Internet to my
    -- application. It is automatically called when a request
    -- from the Web arrives.
    response : HTTPResponse = new;
    -- Find the page name.
    pageName : TextData = new;
    pageName.SetValue(request.PageName);
    -- Generate response pages.
    if pageName.IsEqual('processquery',IgnoreCase=TRUE) then
    -- Please note that I have not write any HTML to build my web page.
    -- Instead Iam using the WindowConverter Class to convert my existing
    -- windows on the fly to web pages during run time.
    w : LogonWindow = new;
    -- my logon window class
    Converter : WindowConverter = new(sourceWindow=w);
    Converter.AssignButton(sourceField = w.<ProceedButton>,type =
    'submit');
    loginURL : TextData = self.CGIURL.Clone(deep=TRUE);
    loginURL.Concat('?serviceName=').concat('appweb');
    loginURL.Concat('&pageName=PwdPage');
    w.<ProceedButton>.HTMLLink = loginURL.value;
    -- Proceed button is on my window to which
    -- I have associated the above HTMLLink
    -- This link does not submit the User Name typed by the
    -- User browsing my web page, but this User Name has to
    -- come as part of the request from the browser to perform the
    -- validation, as Iam not sure about obtaining the User name
    -- from the web page.
    -- My problem is how to get this user name????????
    html : HTHtml = new;
    head : HTHead = new;
    body : HTBody = new;
    -- Give the page a title.
    head.Add(HTTitle(Text='Application For The Web'));
    html.Add(head);
    form : HTForm = New();
    body.Add(Converter.WindowToForm(Action=self.CGIURL,HTMethod='POST'));
    html.Add(body);
    response.AssignResponse(html.ConvertToString());
    elseif pageName.IsEqual('PwdPage',IgnoreCase=TRUE) then
    w : LogonWindow = new;
    Conv : WindowConverter = new(sourceWindow=w);
    button : PushButton = new();
    button = Conv.LoadParameters(request,w.<UserId>);
    -- This will fail because the 'Request' has no user Id.
    -- Here, the explanation provided in the Forte Web SDK manual for
    -- LoadParameters method (method from WindowConverter Class) seems to
    -- be inadequate.
    If w.UserId <> Nil And w.UserId.Value <> '' And w.UserId.LengthToEnd()
    0 ThenIf SQLsSO.IsValidUserId(w.UserId) Then
    -- Method to validate the user Name.
    w1 : PasswordWindow = new;
    Converter : WindowConverter = new(sourceWindow=w1);
    Converter.AssignButton(sourceField = w1.<ProceedButton>,type =
    'submit');
    pwdURL : TextData = self.CGIURL.Clone(deep=TRUE);
    pwdURL.Concat('?serviceName=').concat('appweb');
    pwdURL.Concat('&pageName=MessagesPage');
    -- and here I will have to get the password typed in by the User.
    -- once again my same problem?????
    w1.<ProceedButton>.HTMLLink = pwdURL.value;
    html : HTHtml = new;
    head : HTHead = new;
    body : HTBody = new;
    -- Give the page a title.
    head.Add(HTTitle(Text='Application For The Web'));
    html.Add(head);
    form : HTForm = New();
    body.Add(Converter.WindowToForm(Action=self.CGIURL,HTMethod='POST'));
    html.Add(body);
    response.AssignResponse(html.ConvertToString());
    Else
    -- Generate an exception for unknown page.
    .............. and etc.
    In your example, you had sighted about the 'Junktxt'. How does it comes
    as part of the request from the browser and what is the reference
    associated with the submit button?
    If you need further clarifications, please write to me. Iam also still
    working on it.
    Thanks in advance,
    Pamella.
    You Wrote :
    Hi, Pamella --
    It might be easier to help if you could be a little more specific about
    what went wrong (ie, the problematic code snippet and the resulting error
    message), or what exactly you were trying to do. In any event, it is very
    easy in WebEnterprise to pass values up to Forte from web pages. You can
    embed them in HTML "hidden" tags or they can accompany standard form
    elements.
    For instance, say you have the following HTML code ...
    <form method="POST" action="$$FORTE.ExecURL">
    <input type="hidden" name="ServiceName" value="TestService">
    <input type="hidden" name="TemplateName" value="nextpage.htm">
    <input type="hidden" name="hiddenParam" value="dog">
    <div align="center"><center>
    <p>
    Type some junk here: <input type="text" name="junkTxt" size="20">
    </p>
    </center></div>
    <div align="center"><center>
    <p>
    <input type="submit" value="Submit" name="submitBtn">
    <input type="reset" value="Reset" name="resetBtn">
    </p>
    </center></div>
    </form>
    In addition to what the user types into the text box (junkTxt), say you want
    to pass "dog" up to Forte as a hidden parameter (hiddenParam) (hey, done't
    ask me why!). You can retrieve these values up in Forte in the HandleTag
    method of your scanner service by invoking "FindNameValue" on
    request:HTTPRequest, ie
    firstItem:TextData = request.FindNameValue('junkTxt');
    secondItem:TextData = request.FindNameValue('hiddenParam');
    firstItem now contains the value of "junkTxt" and secondItem contains
    "dog." You can now do whatever you like with these guys, including putting
    them in a ResultSet to be displayed on "nextpage.htm"
    Hope this helps,
    Dan______________________________________________________

    Obviously, as seen above, I'm doing something wrong or Live View does not do all the functions that Design View use to do.  I realize I can still access Design View in non-Fluid Grid Layout documents and that is my current work-around.  I copy from my Word file into Design View available in non-Fluid, then copy that code into my Fluid Grid Layout document, not real efficient use of my time.  And, even that work-around may not be available after the next upgrade.

    Hans thank you for your reply and attention to this matter.  Moreover, with your steeped expertise I do not, in any fashion, intend to be flippant or capricious.
    However, I do not believe the reply is on point since I'm not discussing the insertion of an HTML tag/element; but rather, the placing of complex formatted text into my various web pages.
    Design View and  2014.1 Live View seem to serve different functions.  That is, Design View, for us, serves as a highly sophisticated HTML5 code generator that allows us to properly display complex formatted text that originally is created as a Word docx file.  As I noted in my original post, the complex formatted text from the Word file is then pasted into Design View and thus properly renders on the web page.  I invite you to try this yourself.  Simply copy my properly formatted text in my original post (that can be found at "Using Design View the web page rendered this way:") to a Word file, and it will retain the complex formatting, then copy that Word file text to both Design View and  2014.1 Live View files.  Please apprise me of your results.
    Discussion has been had in at least two separate threads on the Design View disappearance in Fluid Grid.  In https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1597260 staff member Lalita wrote "It would be helpful for us if you list the issues you are seeing with fluid grid live view editing."  And in https://forums.adobe.com/message/6807088#6807088 staff member Subhadeep wrote "If you can list down the workflows you are trying while editing in Live View & the issues you are facing in doing so, it will help us understand what is amiss & suggest alternative workflows to do the same."  I believe I've pointed out issues when attempting to use Live View for functions or work flow that customarily had been done in Design View.
    Being a CC subscriber, if someone can provide me with a workflow using other additional Adobe products to get my complex formatted text from Word ultimately to my Dreamweaver web page, be it an image insert or whatever, I would take the suggestions.
    The difference in the coding of my example in my original post is as follows.

    It is readily apparent that Design View is a much needed code generator in the Dreamweaver product.  Live View serves completely other, and needed, purposes.  Therefore, I still, after all the forum discussions, do not understand why Design View has been removed from Fluid Grid.
    Again Hans thank you for your reply.  But unless I'm missing something, citation to the links you provided does not solve my problem.  And that problem is this: If Design View is on its way out and thus will be completely removed from Dreamweaver at some point, then how do I provide my information (i.e. complex executive job descriptions) on my website?
    Apparently a vote is taking place https://forums.adobe.com/ideas/3922 on the issue of placing Design View back into Fluid Grid.  I do not understand why the need for two rather disjunctive functionalities are at the mercy of the democratic process.  These are matters of engineering principles not "town hall gatherings".

  • Any way to get music from ipod back into library after hard drive crash?

    I just survived and am recovering from a hard drive crash. For some reason, on my backup, I only retained about 500 of my 2500 songs in my library. All of my music is intact on the ipod however. Is there any way at all to resolve this issue and get the music from the ipod into the libary, or in the alternative, any way to back up the stuff on the ipod? Thanks.

    Connect your iPod to your computer. If it is set to update automatically you'll get a message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod. When your iPod appears in the iTunes source list change the update setting to manual, that will let you use our iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default: Managing content manually on iPod and iPhone
    Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. If you have any iTunes Music Store purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
    The transfer of content from sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here:

    iRepo Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
    iPod Access Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
    TouchCopy Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible - Windows version only)
    There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide
    Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay.

  • My hard drive crashed - can I transfer songs from iPod back into iTunes?

    My computer's hardrive crashed and I had to replace the entire hardrive. (Grrrrrr!) I lost the folder that contained all of my music. I re-downloaded iTunes onto my computer with the new hard drive but now my library is empty. All my songs are still in my iPod...
    Is it possible to do a "reverse" transfer. In other words, put the songs from my iPod back into my iTunes. If so - HOW?
    I'm afraid to hook up my iPod to my computer because I don't want the automatic upgrade to start and then my iPod will be empty too.
    Please send help!

    As iPod is set to update automatically take care when connecting back to your computer and an empty iTunes. When you connect you will get a message that your iPod is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press *No*. Pressing "Yes" will irretrievably remove all songs from your iPod. Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list from where you can change the update setting to manual and use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it.
    You can also use a keyboard command to prevent your iPod auto-syncing with iTunes. While connecting the iPod to the computer on Windows hold down the Shift + Ctrl keys (on a Mac hold down the Option and Command (⌥ and ⌘) keys). This will stop the iPod from auto-syncing with iTunes and the iPod will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. This may take between 20 to 30 seconds depending on your computer. Then go to Preferences>iPod and check the "Manually manage songs and playlists" box: Managing Your Songs Manually
    You can't sync or drag your music back directly from an iPod to iTunes, the transfer of music is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there is a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs but not playlists back to iTunes on Windows posted in this thread: MacMuse - iPod to iTunes
    If you prefer something more automated then there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod, this is just a selection. Have a look at the web pages and documentation for these, they are generally quite straightforward.
    iPod Access Mac and Windows Versions
    YamiPod Mac and Windows Versions
    PodUtil Mac and Windows Versions
    iPodCopy Mac and Windows Versions
    PodPlayer Windows Only
    iGadget Windows Only
    Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync again. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up in case you have problems again. External drives are quite cheap these days and you can get loads of storage for quite a small outlay.
