These are the current pics with default settings and just 2 ssd drives installed.
First 2 pics are when you set bios to legacy mode save and reboot hit ctrl I and setup your raid there instead of the bios.
Either way I get the same problems.

  • Envy 17-j051ei ssd compatibility list?

    Hi
Could you please post a list of compatible SSD's including which HP recommends.
    Kind regards
    This question was solved.

    Hi
HP has not tested any for your model except 24GB & 32GB mSATA cache SSD , which can only be put in system upto 8GB RAM & I assume yours has 16GB.
    Go through this manual: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03922401.pdf
But that does not mean you cannot replace it, there is no problem in upgrading in HDD to SSD.

I like Samsung EVO SSD , and is planning for upgrade of my system.

  • MSI GE70 0ND SSD compatibility

    Hi,
I have GE70 0ND, I want to buy SSD but I don't know what kind of SSD would fit inside my laptop and can I leave my HDD or I would have to replace it with SSD.
    Thank you for reply

you can install mSATA SSD, you have such slot
or you can replace existing HDD with standard size SSD
other option would be standard size SSD to replace the optical drive,
but you will need an addiction SSD caddy for there

  • Issues installing 2 new SSDs in GT70 0ND laptop

I have just bought a new GT70 0ND-612AU laptop which came with a 1TB HDD. I purchased two crucial M4 256GB SSDs expecting that I would be able to keep the HDD and RAID the two SSD drives together. When I followed the disassembly guide I removed the HDD from the top (back) left position, but there seemed to be no way that I can connect both the mSata drives in the back left bay (or the bottom right bay either). I read that the back left bay is the place to install the SSDs, and my MSI reseller didn't say that I needed extra hardware to be able to super raid the drives, so what do I do?

Quote from: mrwashout on 03-May-13, 12:42:33
Yes I bought it off a reseller and explained that I wanted to be able to buy the SSD's and use the super raid option to raid them with the HDD separate. They never said I needed to purchase anything other than the laptop and the drives - are you saying I need to purchase some other connector/controller?
The Super RAID is two mSATA drives on a dongle that is in the primary drive bay, the other drive sits in the other bay. The Intel controller sees both mSATA drives as two separate drives and lets you RAID them together.
Here is what they look like
If you don't have the dongle you will need to contact support and they will sell you the part you need, but you will have to buy the mSATA drives too if it didn't come with them, unless MSI can sell you those too.

  • Hardware Compatibility List for installation of solaris 10 on DELL units

    Hi,
I have a requirement to install solaris 10 on a few Dell servers and desktops.
I was unable to install on Dell PowerEdge SC1435 and noticed it is not on the HCL for Dell servers. This unit has dual core AMD Opteron processors. Is the HCL kept up to date, I noticed items 58 and 59 had the same description (SC1430). Should I abondon further attempts and go to the SC2950 which is on the HCL?
Also on the desktop side, both my choices, Dell OptiPlex 745 dual core, and Dell Precision 690 dual core are not on the HCL. A possible alternative on the HCL is the Precision 670.
    Any info would be apprecitate.

I am also having the same issue on a Dell Poweredge SC1435. I get a "ERROR: The disc you inserted is not a Solaris OS/DVD" right after I select the machine to automatically reboot after it finishes installing. It then kicks me out to a Unix shell prompt and I notice that the CD is no longer mounted when I do a "df -k". I've done some research on the web and none of the proposed solutions worked. I'm assuming this has something to do with hardware conflicts with the machine and the fact that the machine is not on the Hardware Compat List yet.
Plus, I know my cd media is good, since I was able to install Solaris 10 x86 perfectly fine on my Dell Poweredge SC420. I'm using the latest Solaris 10 11/06 CD media.

  • GT70 0ND-444US Won't turn on, probably mobo issue.

My laptop suddenly turned off and it won't turn on, it's like dead. I tried some reset procedures (battery, 10 sec. power button, etc) but they didn't help. My guarantee has expired too. I will check it detailed but I think the problem is motherboard. And I found some MS-17621 on the internet but they are too expensive (starting from 300 dollars); does MS-17631 fits to my model (GT70 0ND-444 US) because it's price is 150 dollars. The 17631 is for the GT70 series too but I can not sure about compatibility. I live in Turkey and won't trust the authorized service (there are many complaints about them), and they want money for only checking problems  .

Have you tried to turn it on with the battery removed?
Sometimes on rare occasions a battery could die and short itself out in w way they if it is connected to the laptop even with the AC power cable plugged in it will act like the laptop is dead.
Rare chance but worth a try if you haven't already done so.
Another way for you to try is remove bottom cover and look for a CMOS battery if you find it ant it's access able where you are then disconnect it for 5-10 mins, also make sure AC and other actual battery is disconnected as well once 5-10 mins has been put cmos battery back and connect AC adapter and press power button if lucky your laptop will start and show MSI logo again sometimes bios chip hangs and stops responding so motherboard wont start but doing this procedure will actually power bios chip off fully and so

  • GT70 0ND-204US Windows 7 removed and recovery fails due to drive reformat

    Model Number:GT70 0ND-204US
    Hello,
I was attempting to install Unbuntu from a LiveCD to an external hard drive and I believe during that process I accidentally reformatted the SSD to be an ext4 partition and swap space.  When I rebooted to try to get into windows I got an error that said, "Bootmgr is missing" and when I tried to enter recovery mode I got as far as seeing a Windows 7 like user interface but then I was shown the error (paraphrasing here), "The installation drive must be named OS_install please try again."
I'm typing this using the LiveCD on the undermentioned  computer and can use any tools available in Unbuntu if further diagnostic information is needed.
    Cheers!
Also I would like to thank anyone in advance for their help and even if you're just reading this I appreciate the time you have given.

  • How to enable VT-X on an MSI GT70 0ND?

    My rig:
GT70 0ND.  Stock out of the box except for:
    CPU upgrade to 3920XM
    SSD upgrade to 2*128GB
Looked around in the BIOS for virtualization settings, as I have used them before on other laptops, nothing seen.
Updated BIOS to the .70X version posted as of today, still nothing seen.
Given the power of this laptop, virtualization options have to be in there somewhere, so I humbly submit my ignorance for public consumption, in the hope that someone can help me out.

verify first using securable in https://www.grc.com/securable.htm
Are you using Windows 8 Pro? If yes remove Hyper-V feature.

  • MSI GT70 0ND-622AU - Accessing BIOS/Finding Windows Product Key

    Hi,
Looking for answers to the following questions on my MSI GT70 0ND-622AU please.
    1. How do I access the BIOS? There's no "Press blah for setup" prompt when powering on. Only an MSI screen.
    2. How can I locate my Windows 8 Product Key. There's no stickers on these laptops including under the battery. I'd like to install an SSD as the primary drive and assume I'll be needing it to install the OS.
    Thanking you in advance

Quote from: Warner (MSI Tech) on https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=163370.msg1197589#msg1197589
Per Microsoft's new rules, the key must be embedded inside of BIOS, which will only activate with matching edition.
You can use http://rweverything.com/ to check your ACPI -> MSDM to find out what your key is.
However, if you still cannot activate your OS then you will need use recovery DVDs to restore the OS back to the stock one.

  • Need advices on MSI GT70 0ND-612AU

    Hello everyone,
I'm from Australia and was planning to get a MSI GT70 0ND-612AU laptop recently. I'm planning to do some minor upgrade at starts but not sure how hard will it be to get this done, the following will be some of my concern (I'm not an IT person so the following description or terms that i used could be wrong), please advice
    1. Add mSATA 120GB SSD as a primary drive and the stock HDD (1TB 5400rpm) as secondary: From what i heard was the OS (windows 8) does not comes with the system in hardcopy (Disc) as it has already installed on the original HDD along with the recovery partition. How am i suppose to install the Windows on a SSD that i'm gonna add and used as a primary drive? because there might be some issue that i heard such as BSOD / bugs or errors due to hardware changes / SSD does not perform faster than the stock HDD as it wasn't optimized properly / Adaptor board missing ...etc.
Preferred fresh install as i heard migration potentially cause errors.
P.S. Any tutorials or external guidance links will be appreciate.
    2. GTX675MX GDDR5 2GB / 4GB VRAM confusion: I've seen a lot different MSI model (inc UK / Australia) and from different online stores' description some stated the same graphic card model that comes with 2GB VRAM and some with 4GB VRAM. How am i be able to identify the differences? At first i thought 2GB VRAM is only available on GTX675M and 4GB VRAM was on GTX675MX, but i still saw some online specs saying GTX675MX 2GB VRAM.
    3. Applying Arctic Silver 5 or MX on CPU & GPU: Do i need to do this once i bought the laptop or can i use for a year and apply later? Any tutorial on how to apply these on GT70 0ND?
    Thank you for your attention.

    https://forum-en.msi.com/faq/uploads/156/MS-1762_Disassembly_guide.pdf
That's the assembly guide PDF, that pretty much explains how to take apart the entire notebook. Very helpful.
Make the restore disks. Those will allow you to reinstall the stock software again. Install the SSD, and probably remove the HDD, and then install using the restore disks. It should work just fine.
Well, all I can say is I haven't heard of any migration issues at all so far. I've seen a few people complain, but they didn't really know what they were doing and that's why they had problems.
Honestly, it should say what GPU and how much VRAM it has. 2GB vs 4GB is a moot point to be perfectly honest. This card is similar to a GT650 in the desktop world. 2GB of VRAM is great for those cards. If you want to pay for the 4GB version, by all means go ahead. I just don't believe it will help you at all, and remember, that's just my opinion. It's your laptop, buy what you want.
Hello darkhawk, thank you for your reply again.
Thanks for the PDF, will definitely read that! I'll try do some research on how to create a restore disk then Just wants to make all this clear before i make a move to pick one unit up.
U probably right, migration might not have any issue as you said if done professionally. The reason why i'm worried because i'm pretty much have no idea how this should be done properly lol X-D, i can felt that if i'm gonna do this most likely i will encounter lots of problems lol.
I completely understand what you mean by the GPU. One of the reason that why am i attracted to it is because it's only $3 AUD different (the only different was one that comes with 750GB 7200rpm HDD with 2GB GTX675MX 2GB VRAM ($3 AUD less) and the other one that i'm looking at was 1TB 5400rpm HDD with 4GB VRAM). lol
    Cheers

  • GT70 0ND : screen does not turn on

    Hi guys,
I bought my MSI GT70 0ND-1004FR about 2 months ago. I installed a 128GB SSD in the free slot and installed windows 7 on it, then wiped the other partitions on the 750GB hard drive.
It worked fine for a month but now I have a problem : my computer screen won't turn on when I start the computer. I installed all the drivers on the MSI website and the buttons near the screen are still not working (turbo, wifi, screen and eject don't work; fan and keyboard buttons work).
I think it's a driver problem because I can see the screen is displaying stuff, it's just that the "backlight" is off. I can guess there is something on the screen but I can certainly not read anything, so I have to work on an external screen for now...
If anyone has an idea of what could be the problem, let me know
    Eswak

If your not even able to see the BIOS then yes, just like flobelix said, contact MSI, their RMA process is pretty easy.
Here is there Contact Us Section.
I would try resetting the EC before calling them though, its odd most of your capacitive buttons don't work though. This only takes about a minuet to do so no harm in doing it.

  • GT70 0ND-445US HDD Qty.

    Hello,
I have a GT70 0ND-445US.  It currently has a 750gb 7200rpm hdd, and I would like to either replace this drive with a SDD, or compliment it with one.
This particular model does not have any MSATA drives, but does it have the MSATA raid board?  If not, will the secondary hdd bay accommodate a standard SSD hard drive?
I would take off the cover and take a peek, but I figured you folks could spare me the trouble.  I don't want to buy MSATA drives, and find no MSATA ports, or worse, no connecter at all except for the one connected to the primary 750gig.
    Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks.  Turns out the Msata board was inside of a anti-static bag in the box.  The mainboard has an adapter for a single drive.  I used the Sata3 for my SSD, and the other for the included 750gb.  The MSATA board I'll maybe use when MSATA cards are a bit cheaper.   Thanks again.
