Info & mini guile (down arrow) takes up too much screen area
Info & "mini guide" are overlayed on "opaque" box and take up almost half the height. That's not acceptable.
In earlier version, they were overlayed transparently and took up small area.
There's a lot of area wated at the bottom with no information. Either reduce area, mainly height it blocks or show full channel video in remaining uppper unblocked area in reduced size, as done in cases of full guide and channel guide.
I agree. Too much inefficient waste of space that could be eliminated or filled with more useful content.

Upgraded to iPhoto '11, info tray takes up too much space?
Is there a way of resizing or moving the info tray from the side of screen to the bottom like '09 version?
Mostly interested in minimal view to see date, size of photo taken. Screen size on 13.3" so info bar takes up too much space.No. That feature is hard coded into the app. Send a feature request to Apple via http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphoto.html. The Command+i key combination can quickly open and close the Info tray to get it out of your way.

Bookmark Toolbar bookmarks have icons & take up too much space.
Firefox 4 beta 3 added icons to the Bookmark Toolbar, i.e. folder icons next to folder drop-downs, and mini-icons for links. While they're pretty, they take up too much space. Beta 2 didn't look like this.
How can I get rid of them? Not on OS X.<br />
It is probably the first Firefox version that will have icons on the Bookmarks Toolbar if you get them by default.<br />
In previous Firefox versions you need a special theme or code in userChrome to accomplish that.<br />
Now you will need code in userChrome.css if you want to suppress those icons.
Add code to [http://kb.mozillazine.org/UserChrome.css|userChrome.css] below the @namespace line.<br />
See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Editing_configuration#How_to_edit_configuration_files<br />
<pre><nowiki>@namespace url("http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul"); /* only needed once */
#personal-bookmarks .toolbarbutton-icon {
display:none !important;
</nowiki></pre> -
On my bookmarks toolbar, each bookmark has the associated webpage icon next to it. I would like to remove those icons, as they take up too much space.
ThanksThe icons, if you are familiar with them or they are obvious, take up less space than the words. You can abbreviate the names down to next to nothing or even nothing.
To save space and help organization you can group bookmarks into folders on your Bookmarks toolbar. -
i just upgraded to the new version of firefox. for some inexplicable reason, you've added icons to the left of my personal menu choices in the menu bar. these icons are purely decorative, they take up too much room, and now i can't display as many clickable items in the menu bar. extremely irritating. if you are going to add junk, at least give us the option to not display it. is there a way that i can turn off the display of these useless icons?
thank you! that worked! appreciate how quickly and accurate the support was.
that said,
it would be nice if the icons were the add-on,
and the default was no icons.
i'm sure the majority of your users would prefer function rather than fluff.
thanks again, mj -
I was copying files to my time capsule when it crashed when it was almost finished. Now I am stuck with a light grey folder I can not delete. I would´t care if it wasn´t for the fact the folder is 1 TB size and takes up too much space. I have tried turning on and of Hiding Files in Finder and what not with no success. So, how do I delete this folder. Remember, I am not extremely familiar with technical terms.
I recommend you erase the TC.. it is the easiest and fastest solution.
In Airport utility open the disk tab and select erase.. choose quick erase.. it will take less than 1min.
Start again but copy files in small amounts. -
I just got an iPod and am setting things up, but I don't want it to sync my photos from my computer to the iPod as it takes up too much space. How do I stop it from syncing the photos?

The earlier version of Firefox did not run this plug-in container. Every time I would remove it from my processes it would kill videos etc. But, it was all fine in the older version of Firefox, so why the change? So I chose not to update Firefox. Then, the other day, I saw that is was automatically downloading and I turned off my computer because it wouldn't stop and I didn't give permission. When I got home I could not use Firefox and it took me hours to figure out how to get the internet back. Then I got Firefox back and this stupid process is running again. It takes up too much memory. I don't like a bunch of extra processes running like that. So, why can't I just use the old version? Is this process absolutely necessary?
In the past the memory usage would end up as part of the Firefox program. Now with OOPP you can see it as a separate process and that makes it more noticeable.
You can disable OOP if you want.<br />

The Folders in the Bookmarks Toolbar take up too much room.
The Blue Folders and the new stuff at the right hand end in the Bookmarks Toolbar take up too much room
I can't fit all my lists like I could with 3.6.8
I like all the other features. I just want a fast stable browser with no frills.
The Acid 3 test is still not correct, it is in Safari.
The Toolbar looks very like Safari!Look at Incredible Bookmarks: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/50722

The ios 6 download takes up too much room. I don't want to install it, but I don't know how to get rid of the download. Any way to get rid if it?
There is no way to get rid of it now that it is earmarked for the phone. I can respect your choice to hold to Maps, but you will need to install eventually. While this may not matter to you, the Maps app has worked fine for me, however I live in the US and that could make a difference.

I have a whole bunch of CDs that I would like to import into iTunes. If I do that, would the songs still reside on my PC (which would take up too much space), or is there a way to get them "into the Cloud"? Thanks so much
Sign up to iTunes Match, though I'd consider investing in more storage. If space is a problem now then you're probably not backing up your existing media and content, which you should most certainly do.

Takes unusually too much time for shut down R Macbook pro 15
During the shut down procedure I have the white screen for unusually long time. My R Mac book pro is a new one I have had this since the first day. I download a fresh OS X but still the same.
You're still under warranty. Take full advantage of it by calling Apple Care about your concerns.

Info window takes up too much space
It used to be that you could keep the info window open at all times, residing at the bottom left of the page. But now, if you open the Info window, it robs you of almost a third of the screen. The info about each photo is now in a nice compact window (although it seems to give much less information), but that window is above a vast area of mostly wasted space.
How about the option to return the info window to the bottom of the Library list, where it doesn't waste any screen space?
Please send feedback to Apple: http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphoto.htmlGood that you like the new info window, Michael.
I see no camera manufacturer (I see the model of the camera, but not the brand). This may not be important to most people, but if you are gathering photos from a number of different people to make a slide show, it's nice to see the brand of camera.
The only flash info I see is the little icon with a lightening bolt - that's pretty slim info.
What's the point of working full screen if you cannot move the window? It's fixed now. Before, the adjust window was floating, and could be moved anywhere, even to a second monitor. Now it just eats up the screen space, with a lot of black space below for faces, keywords and location. -

IPad mini retina - The connected device requires too much power.
Hi,
I just bought the IDJ Live 2 Controller on 6 march 2014.
when I connect the lightning cable to the ipad and idj live 2, it shows me an error.
Unable to use the device: The connected device requires too much power.
i use the original cable from numark idj, my configuration is:
ipad mini retina ios 7.0.6 - idj live 2.
I tried with iPhone 4, it works well. (same ios)
I also have a sd card lighting adapter and it works on the iPad mini retina.
Currently it is not possible to power the lightining cable..
maybe in future, will Apple increase the output current through new ios?No, because the other end of the lighining cable has a mini usb (type b) connector.
