Info on putting pics on a disc?

I just picked up a pack of 16X, 4.7GB/Go,DVD+R's so i could make my first attempt at putting some pictures on one. Hope those discs are ok!? I tried to search the forum for this info and found many similar threads but nothing exact. I even tried "HELP" on my mac mini and when i chose an option to open up the info in, it just opened up iphoto or itunes and nothing happened. So a few questions....
When i pick an image in iphoto and then go to share at the top, i see "burn" i clicked it and it said add a disc. Well, when i did that i didnt have a disc and was just seeing what would happen. However, the pics i want to burn are currently on a flash drive, so.............
1.) Do i drag the pics off the flash drive to the desktop? And if i do, will i be able to access that "share" and "burn" option to get them on a disc? If, not, do i drag the pics onto the desktop and then into iphoto and do the "share" and "burn" route from there?
2.) I have a ton of pics, what happens if i highlight them all and then a disc gets filled? Will i be prompted to add another disc?
3.) If there is extra room on a disc, can you add more pics later until the disc is full? And if yes, how do you know how much space is left on a disc after adding pics to it.
Thanks.

Last January my Intel iMac turned 4 years old, I sleep it 24/7 and most times it goes for weeks between a shutdown or restart.
Sorry I can't comment on the whole iMac v PC thing, I've used Apple's sense 1986 and never owned a PC.

How did you copy files to the external drive, and what files did you copy? Did you drag and drop in the Finder? Use a clone utility? What files did not successfully copy?
If you reformatted the drive as part of your install, then you won't be able to recover any files from the drive. Reverting back to (reinstalling) 10.4 will not help you.

  • How to extract a pic from iPhoto disc?

Simple question, didn't realise it would be hard to do... I've opened an iPhoto disc which I burned with some family pix on, want to extract a pic from the disc, I've tried dragging and dropping to desktop but it won't let me, have also looked for an 'extract' or 'export' tab but can't find one, have done a quick search and not found the answer, any one give me some help? THANKS!

    Much clearer.
My problem is that I'm not at my Mac right now so I'm walking a bit on thin ice.
when I select one and drag and drop onto desktop<<<</div>
That does surprise me but, like I said, I'm not at my Mac.
If I open up the disk manually there is a folder saying iPhoto library, then lots of folders within folders so I can't find the pic I'm looking for.<<<</div>
That's a reasonable problem. The CD is, as you realized, a miniature library.
I was looking for an extract or export tab in 'file' in the menu bar.<<<</div>
This sounds like there is something missing from your iPhoto application. "Export" is definitely in the File menu. If you open your library normally (without the CD), can you get to the export function?

  • Putting pics on my ipod nano (2nd gen)

How do you put pics on your iPod nano?

Here's a simple "How To" on downloading photos from a folder on your hard disk to an iPod:
1 Create a folder on your hard drive to hold the photos you want on your iPod. Call it iPod Photos for example
2 Drag the photos you want from your usual picture folder into the folder you just created
2 Open iTunes, select your iPod in the iTunes Source list.
3 Click the Photos tab and select “Synch photos from.”
4 Choose “Choose Folder” from the pop-up menu and select the iPod photos folder you created.
On a small device like the 2GB Nano I would tend to leave the "Include Full Resolution photos" box unchecked as these will take up a lot of space on the iPod and are only useful if you want to copy photos from one computer to another. iTunes will add "optimised", small TV quality versions of the photos to the iPod for you to view.
You can also have a look at the tutorial which you'll find on this page:

  • ?? How do I change the info i put in during set up?

I will be selling my macbook to someone--how do i change the info i put in during set up (such as address, name, phone number, etc.)?? I feel a lot safer to sell the macbook without those info in the computer.

Yes, you are doing the right step.
Insert the installer disk, and it will asked you to
restart, and it will restart from the disk.
After you choose the language, it will comes up with
installer screen, but don't choose install yet, go to
finder menu bar and select utilities > disk utilities
and erase and choose more option and check zero all
    data.
After you done that (it will took hours to do so,..be
patience), then you can start to re-install the OS.
    Good Luck.
you lost me after erase...where do i find more option and zero all data

When I burn a disc from a playlist in iTunes on my MacBook, the track names and artist info does not display on the disc when friends view/listen to it. This probably is an easy fix, but I need some advice.

No, this standard has been implemented for several decades.
How iTunes remembers audio CDs - http://support.apple.com/kb/TA27785
It is just conceivable you burned a CD that exactly matched one already in the Gracenote database.  Gracenote uses track count and duration to decide what CD it is you have in a computer.  If you have one that matches that it will label it.  You could conceivably even have one that matches it that is not the correct one.
This script will only work on Macs:

You have to import the video to your computer by connecting the iPad with cable and then using iPhoto if you have a Mac or Windows Explorer or any other camera application that will import photos and videos. Read this for instructions.
iOS: Importing personal photos and videos from ... - Support - Apple
Make sure that you backup and sync with iTunes as well, if You have never synced with iTunes before, it might just be easier for you to backup with iCloud. You can restore from the backup when you get the replacement iPad.

  • Is there anyway to place info on iphoto pics?

Is there anyway to place ©info on iphoto pics?

If you referring to "watermarking" (having the © info appear on the image) then no, iPhoto does not have that capability. You can, however use an application on your Mac called preview. In preview you can annotate images. Meaning, for you needs, add a text box. Open the image in Preview. Click annotate.
    Click the text box generator.
Type your text. You can edit the text using the format bar or go to Tools > Show Fonts in the menu bar.
By the way, you can type a copyright symbol by holding down the option key and typing the letter G.
    Good luck!

  • Can you put pics on this board?

im having a hard explaining my problem because i type so bad.

Yes, you can put pics here, but only as a link. You have to upload your pics somewhere on the Internet so that we can see it by going to its link. The link should end in ".jpg" or ".gif" or something that's a picture file.

  • Late 09 MB Pro 13" now on Mountain Lion keeps crashing (spinning wheel) and getting VERY hot. Even Safe Mode slow to work. Managed a back up last night and wondering should I put the original ios disc back in to take it back to SL. Advice appreciated!

    Hi
For past year or so my mac book has been getting gradually worse. Spinning wheel, and overheating, last night I had trouble just getting it to start in Safe Mode (been using the on/off button a lot lately!)
Problem may be related to media - iMovie followed by iPhoto are the most likely programs to bring everything to a stop but not always.
I'm not an expert although I did figure out how to re install the operating system from the partition with help from this forum a couple of months ago but it didn't fix the problem.
The iOS is Mountain Lion (via Lion)
I managed to do a back- up last night and now wondering if I should re- install Snow Leopard from the original discs that came with the laptop.
Got a lot of media on there (replaced the 250gb drive with a  Samsung 1tb a while back which is less than half full.
Never had to use any of my back-ups before so:
If I re install the original operating system will I be able to be selective in what I put back on later?
    and -
Will there be any issues putting a Mountain Lion back-up into a Snow Leopard iOS?
A lot of whats there isn't needed but don't want to lose it completely.
    Advice appreciated thanks

Back up all data immediately as your boot drive may be failing.
If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
syslog -k Sender kernel -k Message CReq 'GPU|I/O' | tail | open -ef
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C).
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V).
The command may take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear.
A TextEdit window will open with the output of the command. Normally the window will be empty. If you get output like this:
    kernel[0] <Debug>: disk0s2: I/O error
the boot drive is failing, or there's some other hardware fault in the storage subsystem.
If you get output like this:
    kernel[0] <Debug>: ** GPU Debug Info Start **
    kernel[0] <Debug>: ** GPU Debug Info End **
there's a fault in the graphics processor or logic board. The two kinds of output are not mutually exclusive, but if you get both, a logic-board fault is likely.
