If you had been using Palm Pilot type devices for a long time, would you be able to replace those functions with a iPod Touch 4g? I realize it does a lot more but I do need to retain those abilities. Can I log things in my PC and later sync them to the iPod Touch? Is there a small portable keyboard option?

On iTunes 12, I cannot seem to find the "Info > Advanced > Replace Information on this iPhone" functionality. I have a bunch of IMAP accounts, and while I could create or update them manually on the phone, that's extremely tedious. I can't seem to find this functionality in iTunes 12; has it been removed? Do we really have to create all accounts manually.

What is the specific message displayed as it fails, and what does your HotSync log say about the failed event? Also, who is your wireless carrier and did they provide this particular device to you?

Changing credit card info stored in the Palm Profile

Does anyone know if there are options to change or delete credit card info for the App Catalog after adding it to the Palm Profile? If so, where do you do this? Online? On the Pre? Thanks for any ideas you may have.

I got my phone from a third party seller and am trying to buy an app. It's giving me the "fraudulent cc please enter diff cc in prefernces and accounts" the problem is I DID...but when I do that is says "credit card info is stored on a secure server not in your phone." I can't change this and it's super annoying! This circular stuff is frustrating and I've entered my info like 13 times, literally. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME!!! The old owner's info is hidden somewhere in some deep, dark location and I can't update it to mine!!!! AAAAAAGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

How to get contacts and calendar info from my old palm files

I used to use a Palm Tungsten T3. I no longer have it but until recently I still used the Palm Desktop. My computer "died" and I was able to copy all the Palm files of of it but now I have no idea how to get the contact and calendar(less important than contacts) info in some form I can use. I do not currently have any Palm software installed on my computer. I have Microsoft Windows XP on my computer now and use Outlook or Outlook Express. Does anyone have any advice for me. Thanks in advance.

I'm having the same problem. Desktop 4.1.4 on old PC. New PC with Win 7. Loaded 6.2 and when I went to Import 6.2 is looking for .aba files. Old PC has all .dat files. How do I import or transfer addresses and other contact info to new PC?? Thanks.

Best replacement for Palm iii

Please don't laugh! I am still using my old and trusty Palm III. I realize generations of new products have passed me by, but at last I am ready to replace my old Palm. I don't want a phone, just a PDA that I can synch to my PC Windows 7.
What is the best replacement choice and is there a tool to move my address file to the replacement?

There are no new non-phone Palm OS PDAs. Hopefully a new webOS tablet will make it out next year. But your alternatives are to purchase a used or refurbished Palm OS device such as a TX or E2, or a new something else such as an iPod Touch or a Windows Mobile PDA such as an iPaq.
You'd be able to move your contacts one way or the other, possibly by migrating your data to Outlook first if you got something other than a replacement Palm OS device.

CURRENT INFO ON REPLACING A SUPERDRIVE?

I have a G4 933 running 10.3.9 and my superdrive is not as super as it used to be. I've read all the threads about replacement drives and the Pioneer 110D seems to have been the drive of choice over the last 90 days. Before I buy and install, I wanted to check to see if anything new has surfaced in the way of replacement drives. I understand that I will not be able to take advantage of the faster DVD write speeds... is there another recommeded drive that will allow for this? Will I have to run Patch Burn with my config? If so, what will that accomplish for me?

New palm and getting the info from my old palm on the new one.

Hi there. I had to have a new centro ordered because my first cento's keys stopped working. The sprint store recommended me coming home and backing up all my data on my first centro while I was waiting for the new centro to arrive. All of my data from my first phone is backed up on my computer but I do not know how to get all of my calendar events and what not onto the new centro. As soon as I hook up my new centro with the hotsync cable it wants to create a new user on my computer. I"m not sure if that's what I need to do in order to get my old data on my new centro. The sprint store was able to get all of my contacts on my new phone, I'm mainly wanting all of my calendar (which has important dates and things going on) and my downloaded ringtones. If anyone can please help me figure out how to get all the old stuff on my new palm that would be great! Thank you!

When you connect the Centro to the PC does it only ask to create a new username or do you get the option to use an existing username? You should have this option. If you don't, make sure the Centro is not connected to the PC. On the Centro, go to hotsync, look in the upper right corner of the screen, is there a username listed? Is it the same name that is in Palm desktop that has your data?
If the name on the Centro is different than the one in Palm desktop, you will need to erase the username on the Centro and then you should get the prompt to use an existing username in Palm desktop.

Need info on replacing HP e9180t motherboard

I posted earlier on having a problem with my e9180t. I found out the IPMTB-TK motherboard is the problem. So, what is the best replacement to use, also, where can I find instructions on how to take out the old one?

BB9530T (Storm), Replacing a Palm 700 on Verizon

I just bought this phone today, and am so far loving it. But I have an issue with the DeskTop Management software and E-mail reconciling.
That checkbox is grayed out, and I can't reconcile/synchronize my Inbox.
My work E-mail is behind a VPN on an Exchange server, so I forward that to my personal E-mail account on comcast. Verizon's tool would push the E-mail to the phone of the PC was off or the timing was right. I want to get E-mails after I shut down the PC (service operation). The PC and phone would synchronize the next morning, so I;d know what issues still had to be addressed.
If I understand this right, I have to forward my comcast E-mail to a personal email account yet to be created at vzw.blackberry.net, which seems, well, convoluted to me. If I could push Comcast to the Palm, I should be able to push it to the BB, and work as I always have.
What am I missing? What do I need to do?

I would not do it the way you are planning. Yes, it is convoluted.
One, your BIS email will not reconcile to Outlook or exchange. You need a BES account set up for that.
Two, your comcast email will push direct to the BlackBerry. I know too many people who do.
Set your comcast email up on your BIS account or your on your BlackBerry, with the "personal email setup" icon or in your settings folder.

Personally, I would not create the @vzw.blackberry.net address... You don't need it, they collect spam to easily and there is no where to view that email other than on the device itself.
You can always create a free gmail.com account if you need, rather than the comcast (I would use gmail, for instant push).

How to enter X4600 asset info on replaced ILOM

I have an X4600 M2 that had the ILOM replaced by Sun. All the asset information, like product serial number is now "000000000". How do I set this information back in the ILOM so I can use it for asset management?

Unfortunately that's not possible on the Apple TV, you'd need to burn text into the photo with an imaging application.

My iPad 2 touch screen will not work. The screen is currently locked. The sliders work, but the number pad doesn't! My screen was shattered months ago, and worked fine until recently. I need to delete confidential info before replacing the glass. HELP!

Again, everything worked perfectly until about two days ago. Out of nowhere, the numbers on the unlock screen stopped working. The sliders still work, the photo button still works. I've tried reseting it multiple times, and powering it off multiple times as well! Any help would be very helpful. It needs to be fixed as soon as possible for a private buyer. Thank you!!

Have a read at all this, including the links. I personally would then proceed in this order.
Open iTunes on your computer. Connect your device (iPad or whatever) to the computer. Hold both home and power buttons for exactly 10 seconds, release the power button, keep holding home button until your device recognises it is in Recovery Mode. (Perhaps 10-20 seconds.) If the device screen is black (blank) then it is in DFU Mode.

BlackBerry Desktop Manager is not located ON your device. It is to be installed and located ON your PC Desktop.. hence the name.

Why doesn't someone take a a few hours and write a workaround so I can sync all my info including my Palm notes to my iphone via Palm Desktop without putting it in the clouds or making it complicated? : (

I feel your pain. I am a long time user of Palm Desktop/Claris Organizer and have an iPhone that I really can't sync except by doing an export and import into iCal, etc. You might try Missing Sync. I have been working intermittently with writing a replacement for Palm Desktop, but I've only gotten as far as dumping out the information for everything (except repeating appointments) as an XML file.

I need to know thge best and most inexpensive way to replace a Palm IIIx handheld. The screen went belly up but the software on my computer works well. Is there any way to achieve another Palm IIIx or a compatible unit?
