Well, I found something that worked for me.
I found a blog post by Ryan Nielsen and it included these instructions:
    Original Post
    Article Text:
Reporting Services - Unable to Connect to Remote Server Error After a restart reporting services, you may come up with Unable to Connect to Remote Server Error when navigating to the web access. Typically an issue like this occurs in the RSWebApplication.config. This file is located in the ReportManager Folder (Example: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.3\Reporting Services\ReportManager) I checked the <reportserverurl> and <reportservervirtualdirectory> tags were the same as before.
    <ReportServerUrl></ReportServerUrl>
    <ReportServerVirtualDirectory>ReportServer</ReportServerVirtualDirectory>
    <ReportBuilderTrustLevel>FullTrust</ReportBuilderTrustLevel>
After changing the ReportServerUrl tag to contain both the server URL and the virtual directory, it could then connect to the remote server.
    <ReportServerUrl>http://Server/ReportServer/</ReportServerUrl>
    <ReportServerVirtualDirectory></ReportServerVirtualDirectory>
    <ReportBuilderTrustLevel>FullTrust</ReportBuilderTrustLevel>
No IP addresses were added or was any IIS settings that I could tell. Leaving the ReportServerUrl tag blank should allow for it to find the server locally.
    End Article Text
I did this and restarted the Reporting Services service and it now works without a problem.
    I hope this helps someone.

  • Report Manager - "Show in Web browser" - "Post to web server"

    Hi,
My boss has asked me to monitor CPU Utilisation and Load Average on 4 T2000's that have performance issues.
I have created a report using report manager (thanks to the Halcyon guide!) and I'm happy!
But I now want to use the "Post to web server" function to allow the user to read the results.
First up the "Show in browser" option comes up with "Netscape not found". I discovered what I thought was the config
entry for this in /var/opt/SUNWsymon/cfg and changed /usr/bin/netscape to /usr/bin/firefox which does exist on the server.
But I still get "netscape not found". What do I need to change to get this bit working?
Second, when I select "Post to web server", the task appears to complete, but what is the URL or where does the
file get deposited? I could not find this out anywhere, browsing logs or config files for the server.
Thansk for your help so far - our SunMC environment is now paying off and we're getting useful info out of it!

The actual files are on your Server under /var/opt/SUNWsymon/reports (from memory: directory is something like that :) )

  • Non Domain computers accessing Report Manager.

I'm using SQL 2012 and am having a hard time finding documentation on how to turn off authentication for the Report Manager.  All i want to do is having some computers that are not on our domain be able to pull up a report without getting prompted with
    login info.
SSRS is not installed with sharepoint mode.
I found this: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc281383.aspx but had little luck getting it to work.

    Hello,
SSRS uses by Default Windows authentication, but you can change it to anonymous access:

    Hi
    Thank you for your support.
I have a Vista laptop that cannot connect to Report Manager URL. Same Windows account on an XP machine works just fine.
Note: - Reporting Services is not installed on Vista machine , this is a client that connects to a SQL Server 2008 R2 and Reporting server instance.
On Vista workstation, I tried diabling UAC, tried Run As, added trusted sites, other browsers, IP/FQDN/name changes in URL. - no change.

    Hi Macca,
Per my understanding that you got the error message when access the report manager in the client vista machine which have't install the reporting services instance and access to the Windows XP machine works fine, right?
I assumed that you have installed the Reporting Services instance in this WIndows XP machine, Could you please check in the third machine with the vista os to see if you will got the same error message.
The issue can be caused by many factors:
If the third machine can connect to the report manager remotely, the issue can be caused by this vista machine.

    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb630430(v=sql.105).aspx
If the other machine also can't access the report manager, the issue caused by some configuration not correct for the remote connection(https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms156305.aspx)
If you are using Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008, you must configure Report Manager for local administration, please check to make sure the "Service Account" is the domain/user account which exists in the local administrator group.
Please check the rsreportserver.config file and make sure <RSWindowsNegotiate/> is the first value in <AuthenticationTypes> section. By default, the rsreportserver.config file is located in the path like: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS10_50.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting

Got it working. Can now use my DiNovo Keyboard without its dongle. Yeah. NO BSODS.
This is what I did. I put in the dongle for the keyboard, rebooted to an account with Admin privileges, used flashcards to go to BT not the F8 key the actual BT one that shows your comp name and ID#. I removed the dongle for the keyboard, turned on the keyboar adn clicked its connect button, clicked the flashcard and it brought up BT Settings.  It did not BSOD.  So I think Imo454 has it right about the dongle and using it for drivers.  Although it did not show anything installing.  Set up device, it saw keyboard, I configured settings, closed BT setting manager and now have Icon in tray and BT information manager works.
Reinstall your stack again and then try this.  I also gave my users permission to the BT Manager and BT Info.  I don't think that made a diff but it can't hurt.  Not full permission but write and mod as well as the standard read.
The Toshiba stack from what I can tell is very persnickity.  Everywhere I  have read to fix this talks of this.  I got my stack from the Toshiba Europe site.  They have more current stacks than USA.  Plus if you run on Toshiba HW you do not need a new key.
Thanks to you Imo454 and to Jerry.

  • Can not see the report in report manager/admin tab

    Hi,
in 8.49 on Win 2003 some users can not see the reports in report manager/admin tab. PS user can see them.
Should we add some grants in user profile ? Which ? Any query to compare that user profile with PS ?
    Thank you.

On the administration page, you will be able to see "View Reports For" header on the top.
Under that header you will see the following fields:
    User ID/Type/Last/Status/Folder /Instance
Above values will be used by PeopleSoft to filter and display the list of reports
If the user has selected Status as Processing and saved the page, PeopleSoft will only show reports which are in Processing status.
If user runs a report and it has been posted, it will not show up in report manager coz the filter value is set to Processing.
Hope this helps. I dont think Permissions has anything to do with this since user is able to view the page.

  • Can I use Report Manager to distribute customized oracle reports?

    Hi,
Can I use Report Manager to distribute customized oracle reports, other than FSG reports?
If no, is there any function that can be used for distributing reports submitted from concurrent manager in r12.1.2?

Another option could be to use XML/BI Publisher - again, you will need to check if your license includes distributing custom reports.

  • PeopleSoft Report Manager does not show up reports

    Folks,
Hello. I am using Peopletools 8.49.
The Report Manager has 4 tabs: List, Explorer, Administration, Archives
After I run reports using Process Scheduler, nothing shows up under the above 4 tabs and this message comes up:"Invalide or missing parameter in request" under List tab.
I have followed "Process Scheduler Documentation" - Chapter 5 "Using Report Manager" to configure it, but it's not working out.
The following solution is for PeopleTools 8.44:
    http://peoplesoft.ittoolbox.com/groups/technical-functional/peopletools-l/report-manager-nothing-showing-under-list-1011644
Can any folks tell me how to solve this problem in PeopleTools 8.49 ?

    Folks,
Hello Thanks a lot for replying.
    1) The default local node (PT_LOCAL) has been set a password that is login user password.
    2) I think I define the Report node correctly under "PeopleTools>ProcessScheduler>ReportNodes" as follows:
    Http Information is selected.
    URL: http://127.0.0.1/psp/ps/psreports
(psp is Domain name, ps is Site name while configure Webserver. psreports is a folder in C:\)
    URI Host: http://127.0.0.1
    URI Port: 80
URI Source: don't need this since Scheduler and Webserver are in the same machine.
    Logi ID: PSADMIN
    Password:PSADMIN
Under Intergration Broker, I have done the follows:
    1) Gateway, Domain, Pub/Sub Server are running.
    2) Service Operations: PSRF_FOLDER_CREATE, PSRF_REPORT_CREATE, PSRF_REPORT_DATE_CHANGE AND PSRF_REPORT_DELETE are set "active" and "Asynchronous One Way".
    3) Login User PSADMIN are granted Roles "Report Super User" and "Report Dist Administrator".
But Report Manager still cannot display Reports by this point.
The only problem is that under "PeopleTools>IB>Configuration>Service Configuration>UDDI Configuration", when Ping the Inquiry URL and Publish URL, I got such an error message: "External System Contact error."
    Inquiry URL: http://PTNTAS28/UDDI/INQUIRY
    Publish URL: HTTP://PTNTAS28/UDDI/PUBLISHING
I think the "External System Contact error" cause Report Manager cannot display Reports. This problem is caused by "Gateway" or "UDDI Server" not running correctly.
    Thus, I have 3 questions:
First, Do I need to change 4 Service Operations from "Asynchronous One-way" to "Request/Response" ? What is Receiver node for routings ?
Second, do I need to set up UDDI Server and configure it ?
Third,, where to set up single signon for the default local node (PT_LOCAL) ?

but me reports are not displayed correctly, I can run reports but top bar with parameters, export and print function are not displayed in correct format.
    (simple textboxes, and icons)
    reporting.mydomain/ReportServer - /
Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services Version 9.00.1399.00
I think it is security issue. What schould i do to solve this problems?
    Wojtek

    Hi Wojtek
I just wanted to know if you found a solution for part (1).  I just recently encountered the problem where:
"when i try to execute reports in report manager, parameters controls are not displayed correctly (very simple text boxes) and I can see:
The selected report is not ready for viewing. The report is still being rendered or a report snapshot is not available. (rsReportNotReady) "
However all my reports are run from the most recent data.  The rsReportNotReady message appears in Report Manager but not the Report Server interface; the latter is able to render the reports.   But both have incorrectly displayed textbox inputs.
    Thanks

  • Report Manager - ER 8530306: NEED USER TO VALUE SECURITY FOR PT EXPANSI

    Hi
We are facing the above same gap in implementing report manager. I think it's one of the most common things that reports are run for parent segment GL values to have consolidated reporting in any large organisations. Hence PT(Page/Total) is required in the content set. Yet current Oracle Report Manager security works only when PE (Page/Expand) is used. As a result of this bug, security rule does not work in parent ledgers and it only works with child ledgers.
I was wondering if enabling custom security rule (as per the note 333304.1, How to Apply Custom PL/SQL Based Security with Oracle Report Manager) could resolve the above bug? Thanks.
    Regards
    Michael

    Michael,
Extract from Enhancement Request 8530306 Posting the contents of MOS Docs/ER violates Oracle support agreement policy so please edit the contents of the ER and mentioning the number should be enough.
I was wondering if enabling custom security rule (as per the note 333304.1, How to Apply Custom PL/SQL Based Security with Oracle Report Manager) could resolve the above bug? Thanks.I have not tried this myself but I would suggest you do in a test instance and see if it works for you, or you could log a SR and confirm this with Oracle Support.
    Thanks,
    Hussein

  • Issue while opening SSRS Report with Oracle as Datasource in Report Manager

I deployed SSRS report in Report Manager but I am unable to generate that report. Am getting following error.
Is it problem with datasource in report manager? I am not able to change the Data source type to Oracle. It is showing Microsoft SQL Server. How can I change it, no other options are coming except Microsoft SQL Server. Please help.
    An
error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted)
    Cannot
create a connection to data source 'TEST_DS'. (rsErrorOpeningConnection)
    For
more information about this error navigate to the report server on the local
server machine, or enable remote errors

When I deploy them in localhost, and try to run report in report manager, it is not showing any data source type in drop down list except MS SQL Server. I do not know why it is showing in BIDS and not in report manager!!!
    Hello,
Based on my test, I can specify the data source type as Oracle after deploy the report to Report Manager and open the report Data source propertity page. If the report use the shared data source, you should check the specify data source at the Data Source
folder. Please refer to the following screen shot:
