Info on Samsung SMX-F33 Flash Camera?

this unit is being offered by Costco at their online store, but I can't find any information on it otherwise.
My main question about this cam is: does it create video files which play nice with a PPC G4 Mac running FCP Studio 1?
I know that camcorders are changing and that the new file formats they produce require more robust hardware, and newer versions of software for decoding and converting, but at the moment, I am still using my trusty G4/FC Studio 1 set-up.

we got this cam, and I was severely underwhelmed... I think we got a lemon bcs it didn't hold a charge and would shut off mysteriously even after a fresh charge; powering back up, it would run until I powered down, but sometimes would shut itself off.
the controls were..."meh."
when I plugged it in, nothing launched; I dragged the clip files to my drive and tinkered with them...tried to convert them to what I thought would be a RT codec for FCS 1, without luck.
by comparision, our sony handcam xx19 spanks this thing silly, plus there are 0 issues capturing and utilizing the footage.
I could be wrong, but if you want to go tapeless, you're setting up yourself a world of hurt: new hardware and new software seem to be requirements.
Perhaps the cam manufacturers haven't noticed that the economy isn't exactly showering us all with gold and diamonds.

Yes, I have done that and yes, the vertical stripes still appear. The vertical stripes appear both in 4:3 and 16:9 footage.
If the vertical lines don't show up on your NTSC
preview monitor, I wouldn't worry about it. They are
probably outside of the safe area and won't affect
its viewability much.
You are probably right, Dave, it's quite possible that the vertical stripes are outside of the safe area in 4:3. However, I am new to 16:9. Is this the case also in 16:9? I am talking about maybe 20 or 30 pixels wide black bands on either side of the frame.

canon into some type of DV bridge, These vertical
bands are normal and represent horizontal sync
characteristics.

Canon does several tings in anunique way that differs
from what a person would expect. You may have
stumbled onto one of Canon's quirks.
I think you are right about that too. I emailed Canon technical support a little Quicktime movie containing two shots, one from the GL-1 and one from the Sony, but I haven't heard back from them yet...

I've a SAMSUNG SMX-F40RP that creates 50i h264 720x576 mp4 file and after importing the files into FCP, every time I add an effect in the time line, I have to render, otherwise on the canvas I can only see text that says unrendered.

Model 6310 flashing camera icon

I have a flashing camera icon above the pictbridge connector shortly after printer is turned on. model 6310. Only power is connected. There is no carriage movement and paper trays are not installed. ShouldI do more?

Are you sure that it's a second gen iPad, and not the first gen ? There are pictures of the second gen iPad on this page http://www.apple.com/ipad/specs/ - the first gen doesn't have cameras (so there is no camera on its back), and the circle above the screen on the front of the first gen iPad is an ambient light sensor (for auto-brightness).
The model number (MC349LL) that you've given seems to indicate a first gen iPad

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Camera Flash and Focus Issues

I have 2 issues with the Camera on my Note 3:
1) The camera flash stops working on my Note 3 even when using another application like Flashlight. I need to turn off my phone and turn it back on for it to start working.
2) The Camera takes a long time to take pictures and the pictures are often out of focus.
Anyone else have these issues and know a solution?

Incompatability with Samsung Digimax 350SE digital camera

After my original G5 imac going to the wall within the warranty period - I was offered a new 17in Mac Intel as a replacement. I paid I traded in the extended warranty and paid a little bit extra and purchased the 20ins 2MB model. Unfortunately I did not know of any of the problems with them and after 3 months of **** with my G5 I was just so excited to have a mac that worked.
Then I tried to use my digital camera and in profiles the mac said it was there, but nothing appeared on the desktop, so I couldn't access any of my photos. So I contacted Apple who said I would need drivers for my new mac intel to see the camera (unfortunately Samsung don't have drivers for the mac). So my next option is to get a card reader that reads compact flash cards. I was considering the Lexar multi-card USB 2.0 card reader. However, I am a bit anxious that if I connect the usb cable I will have the same problem. Can anyone recommend a card reader that they know works with the new Imac Intel Core Duo?

I've tried to package my app with the latest Xcode 4.5 (version 19 Sep 2012) iOS 6 SDK, Flash Builder 4.6, Flex SDK 4.6 with Air 3.5 Beta overlay.
and unzip the .ipa file and i found the following automated settings on the Info.plist file was wrong:

        <string>iphoneos5.1</string>
According to the Adobe specs, these settinsg are unchangeble, is there anyway to change these values to produce .ipa file that with iOS 6.0 settings with Flash Builder 4.6?
I believe this cause the following appstore submission issue with the iPhone 5 4-inch display splash screen image [email protected]:
Invalid Launch Image - You app contains a launch image with a size modifier that is only supported for apps built with the iOS 6.0 SDK or later.

Not everyone here was involved in the conversations that led up to this file, so here are some extra clues:
In your AIR3.5 folder (or whatever you named the folder) is a lib folder. Inside that is the current adt.jar file. Rename that in case you have to go back to it, and drag the supplied adt.jar file into the lib folder. Now publish your app.
You won't even need to quit Flash or Flash Builder.
Once you have the new IPA, go through the usual upload steps to the App Store, using Application Loader, and the file should process ok in iTunes Connect. Note, you will be asked to provide iPhone 5 screenshots.

Flash Camera Issue

What makes a camera compatible with flash? I have a camera I purchased from IDS Imaging and it shows up in my camera list in as3 with print out the array made from Camera.names. But when I go to use it, it just doesn't show up. I do have a lens on it, and it can see it working when I used the IDS software provided for testing. I've also been able to make it work in c#, but I want to use it for a flash app I'm developing.

HLS from flash & cam to iOS

I've been puzzling over this for a few days now.
I want to do a simple proof of concept with a live feed published from a webcam using Flash, via FMS 4.5, to an iOS device using HLS.
Is this even possible? Here's what I've done so far.
1. Installed FMS 4.5 on new server with all defaults.
2. Proved that it's working OK by browsing the "start page" (http://(myserver):8134/index.html) on both flash and iOS devices.
Now I've tried to use the example "interactive" demo to publish my live cam feed.
I've published to rtmp:/livepkgr
And I've called the stream livestream?adbe-live-event=liveevent
It's published and picked up OK by the Flash player on the "interactive" demo on the start page.
So that's working OK.
I then try and consume it on an iOS device. I point the URL to
http://(myserver):8134/hls-live/livepkgr/_definst_/liveevent/livestream.m3u8
I don't get a 404 so I know I've hit a live URL but on my iPad in Safari it simply comes up with a black (not blank) page and "The operation could not be completed" popup.
I'm obviously missing one or more steps here. Help
(do I need to code the flash publisher to encode as h.264?)

For HLS Streaming, the video codec should be H.264 and audio codec should be AAC/HE-AAC. So, if you are publishing from your webcam using flash player then you will have to encode camera feed to H.264 codec and if you are publishing from FMLE then you will have to select video format as H.264 and audio format as AAC.

Problem flash camera

First of all, check that the bulb/light still works. You can do this by downloading a Torch app for free from the App Store. Open the app, and turn the torch on. If nothing happens, something is wrong with the light and you should enquiry at an Apple Store about a repair or a replacement. If it works on the torch app, try turning the device off and on if you haven't already, or with no success, sometimes restoring your iPhone can fix silly bugs like this.

Samsung UN32EH5300 + Samsung VG-STC4000 Skype Camera = Not working

Confirmed with Samsung that the TV supports this camera as it is now the replacement for the STC 2000 / 3000 models. I have the latest firmware installed on the tv (ver 2001.3) The skype app is up to date although it seems the latest skype update was released in 2012.I have 10 of these TVs we bought just for skype conferencing, we have 4 using the STC3000 and they seem to be fine aside from one which just recently started to do the same thing the new STC4000 does. When Skype starts up it doesn't detect a usb camera and mic if you unplug the camera and plug it back in it will display connecting to usb camera and mic and about 5-6 secs later it says usb camera and mic disconnected. I have tested a few of the camera's with the same results, also plugged one into a computer and it worked fine.Any help or suggestions?
