Info on Tax Software?

My company has been using Oracle Apps 11i for about a year now, and has now decided that we need an additional piece of software. Oracle does not create journal or GL entries for the Sales & Use Tax, even though you can run reports to calculate it. We need a piece of software that will take the calculated tax and take it all the way through to the GL. Please let me know if anyone has any suggestions on this!!!!

Did you ever get any information on this question? We are currently on version 11.0.3 of the apps looking to upgrade to 11i. I am trying to locate information on Use Tax procedures within 11i. We currently have custom processes to process Use Tax for Order Entry, AP, and FA. Do you have any information on how 11i handles Use Tax for any of the 3 modules I have listed? And what did you end up doing for your GL Journal Entry issue? Thanks!

  • External Tax Software (Vertex) Currency Issue

We are using external tax software Vertex. A large portion of our customers are in US and for which Vertex/ Tax Reporting works fine. For a US company shipping directly to Canadian Customers, we charge GST/HST to customers. All invoices to Canadian Customers are in CAD currency. All reporting for Canadian customers must be done in CAD currency. However, during billing/account document generation, the external document sent to Vertex is in USD (local currency of US company code).
Is it possible to send info to Vertex from SAP in currency other than local currency of company? How do organizations that ship from US Company directly to Canada handle their Tax reporting from Vertex in CAD currency? We can generare the Tax report in CAD currency from SAP but that somewhat defeats the purpose of using Vertex for all Tax Rates and Reporting. It seems that when document currency is different than local currency, SAP forces info to be sent to Vertex in local currency. Any suggestions/options would be much appreciated.

    Hi,
Have you been able to send document currency to Vertex. Would appreciate help!.

  • What is the best Business tax software to use on MACs

What is the best Business tax software to use on MACs?

Get rid of Norton a/k/a Symantec. It is one of the worst pieces of trash you can install on a Mac.
You do not need any additional anti-virus software than is already designed into OS X to protect your Mac against malware. I assume you paid enough for your iMac and that's part of what you paid.
If you use Windows, or are concerned about harboring viruses that target Windows, or care about friends who use Windows, then get ClamXav. It's in the App Store and it is free.
Since friends don't let friends use Windows, I have no use for it.

  • Integration between SAP and third party tax software

can some body explain me or provide me docs regarding integration between sap and third party tax software like vertex.
    Thanks

    Hi
First configure the same via the following menu path:
    1.) IMG>Financial accounting>Financial accounting global settings>Taxes on sales/purchases>Basic settings>External tax calculation>Define physical destination
2.) Then test connection (option is available there).
3.) If the connection is successful, also verify that the external tax package installed supports the R/3 4.6 version of the API. You do that by going to:
    System Information>Function List
Check if the following functions are listed:
    • RFC_CALCULATE_TAXES_DOC
    • RFC_UPDATE_TAXES_DOC
    • RFC_FORCE_TAXES_DOC
    • RFC_DETERMINE_JURISDICTION
4.) Then test the tax data retrieval:
From SE37, select the relevant function modules like RFC_DETERMINE_JURISDICTION.
The above 4 steps are necessary to satisfy that the RFC connection is established
    Hope useful

  • Transfer tax software from windows to mac?

    Hello,
I bought H&R block tax software on Dell's software site, I made sure that the software was Mac compatible. When I went to download the software, I found out that it could not downloaded on a mac:( Others had success downloading it to a windows machine and then just transferring it to the mac. I transferred the zip file to the mac and tried to open it with no success, it just had a text box with a bunch of jibberish on it. I opened the zip file on the windows machine and tranferred the unzipped program to the mac, but same thing happened. The program only has a .exe file, don't I need to find a .dmg file? I assumed that when I unzipped it their would be a .exe and a .dmg, but it is not so. Anyone have any advice?
    Thanks,
    Jeff

If you got a .exe file, that is the Windows version of the software. You'll need to contact whoever you bought it from about downloading the Mac version.

A ZIP file that contains a .EXE file is Windows software. I would suggest contacting the seller of the software for their help in providing you with a Mac version.

  • Corporate tax software

I have a small corporation and I'm trying to find tax software specifically for the Mac.  Turbo Tax has compatible software for everything but corporations which is PC only.  Anyone know of an alternate tax software program?

For a corporation, install Windows and run TT's corporate version. The cost should be a business expense. Additionally, voice your concerns at  http://turbotax.intuit.com/support/

  • Business Tax Software?

Greetings! I am having a difficult time finding business tax softare for my Partnership (filing Form 1065) that runs on the Max OS platform! This is my first year with my Mac and I didn't have any idea there would be such a deficiency in business tax software for the Mac! Intuit's TurboTax for Business which I have used in the past, for some unknown reason, is ONLY available in the Win version. Ugh. Does anybody have any ideas or solutions on this problem??
    Thanks & God Bless!
    Rick

    Hi, Rick.
Unfortunately, I'm not aware of any Mac-native software that will address your issue. You might want to convey your concern here to Intuit since they're missing the "switcher" business by only offering Windows versions of their business tax software.
Since you have an Intel-based Mac, you can run Windows XP on it using either or both of the following approaches:
    • Apple's Boot Camp Public Beta;
    • Parallels Desktop for Mac
along with with a copy of Windows XP. You should then be able to run the Windows version of TurboTax with which you are familiar.
The key difference between these is that Boot Camp requires you startup in either WIndows or Mac OS X: you can only run one OS at a time. Parallels Desktop lets you run Mac OS X and Windows simultaneously.
Both approaches have straightforward installation instructions. If I were in your position, I'd opt for Parallels Desktop given the ability to with with both operating systems simultaneously.
    Good luck!

  • H&R Block tax software searches Time Machine when updating

How would I prevent H&R Block's tax software updater from searching my Time Machine for existing installs? Their support forum suggests this have been an on-going problem for a few years.
I have turned off Time Machine and ejected the drive. That's pretty annoying. I expect if the H&R updater were to chance files on the Time Machine drive it would be a bad thing.
I'm using the 2014 deluxe version tax software, and Yosemite.

Heh. No. It will search all mounted drives so you need to eject them if you don't want it to do that.
It's still using Installer VISE, right? And polling pretty much everything? I actually complained to them FOUR YEARS AGO about that - NOBODY ON THE PLANET USES VISE ANYMORE! Still, bottom of the barrel with software quality... you need to live with it or eject the drives prior to running their updater.
Since you bought the software in January, expect 10+ updates between now and April 15th

  • Is there a tax software for trust returns (Form 1041)

Does anyone know of a tax software product that runs on a mac and can handle trust tax returns (Form 1041)?  TurboTax Business will only run on a Windows machine.

Thanks George. This is very useful, and it works.
Is it possible that I use cmd line parameter to disable plug-ins, such as "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 9.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe disablePlugins".

  • Mac tax software

What is the best tax software to use with the Mac?  I used to use TurboTax on my old PC which worked fine with the Quicken personal finance software, but now I have iBank on my Mac and am not sure what to use.

IMO, Turbo Tax. AFAIK, it supports iBank, but you'll have to check at http://turbotax.intuit.com/support/, since I don't import financial data.
